This is one of the many improvements to transportation in Nigeria. The road that leads to this location cuts across a market area; the narrow road (burdened by market sellers) might cause a bit of delay if you’re in a hurry. It’s best to get there early if unsure of the departure or arrival times. Ensure you ask questions. Pros: 1. Adequate and we’ll spaced parking. 2. Serene environment (as at the times of review) with the hope that the maintenance culture is sustained. 3. Organized ticketing (manual). 4. The waiting lounge is adequately equipped. 5. Toilet facilities available. 6. Wheel chair accessible entrance. 7. Departure and Arrival times are pretty accurate. 8. Helpful security men/attendants (as at the time of review) 9. Fire hazard equipment available. Cons: 1. Paying for tickets is still by cash (this gives room for dubious intents and is in no way efficient in the digital age. 2. Narrow “market” road leading to the location causes delays.
The train actually works!!!! I was shocked and I couldn't believe its been operational for over a year. Nice processes: 1. You need an approved ID to buy tickets in a room tagged "Ticket" (Drivers licende, intl passpprt, voters card etc- . 2. Queue to buy tickets. Tickets are in 3 categories - economy N2600, Business Class N4000 and First class N6000 3. Go to another room to get luggage scanned 4. Wait for the train to arrive 5. Train leaves twice a day- 8:20 and 4:20pm- at the Agege terminal They are punctual and it's so exciting to see that. It was a lovely experience. Grab a jacket, the coaches get reallllly cold. Apart from putting batteries in the wall clocks, everything actually works. The train station at Ibadan (Omi Adio) is far from town and the road isn't great. Not sure its safe to be there at night.
The train station is work in progress. The services are quite good for a start. The ticketing arrangement is fairly good, there may be need to improve the ticketing efforts to manage traffic overflow. Travelled on standard cabin and returned on business class. I witnessed an unpalatable event in the standard cabin. There were many Chinese personnel who occupied assigned seats. The one who occupied mine politely yielded. Others, with the support of police escorts sat tight and their Nigerian military escorts insisted the passengers should look for seats elsewhere. One of the ladies whose seat was taken called the attendance in the cabin. Maybe for fear, he simply told the woman to look for another seat. I think this is thoroughly embarrassing and can never help patriotic nation building.
This is the first stop the train makes on its Lagos to Ibadan ride. The train starts from the Alagomeji station at Yaba before stopping here to pick passengers. I advise you get here before 8 o'clock in the morning to get your ticket and get settled in. There's a Nescafe food truck that sells hot coffee and pastry. Really affordable too. Also withdraw before coming because you need to buy your ticket in cash along with a valid ID. Loved the train ride. Really nice and comfortable. Hopefully they continue to upgrade and I feel it would be nice to have an ATM machine to make things easier as well as some food places. People come really early or late with the evening train. Over all a good experience.
- it’s built to a good standard, with parking facility as drop off in front of the entrance. The ticket section is to the right side of the building well lit with staff behind the glass. To Ibadan - First class - N6000 Business Class - N4000 Standard Class - N2600 - cash payment only, can’t book ahead or online, no direction about queues. ID needed and you have to write your own details down on the paper passenger list. The terminal is well lit, there is a security check-in with scanner but looks relaxed. The tracks look ok however the train used is a slow one taking 2 hours plus to arrive at Ibadan. A good progress to public transportation, long may it continue.
The train station like many of his kind has many modern facilities such as modern hall and automated staircases known as escalator and elevators. But they hardly put them into use for customers to use especially for the old train customers. Why the discrimination? The staff were even asking the Kano bound customers to leave the air-conditioned Hall saying that they can stay in the sun outside while waiting for their train to arrive. This is not good. If you don't want them to mix there should be provisions for them not asking them to stay in the sun. I expect the management to look into it.
Construction is at the finishing stage and it’s already looking beautiful, hoping this station start operations soon as a lot of people will also be boarding from here rather than going to mobolaji Johnson station. The station is also a few kilometers away from both the local and international airport in Lagos making it the easiest to access from the airport. It has close proximity to places like Ikeja, Ogba, Agege, Dopemu, Akowonjo, Iyana Ipaja, Abule Egba, and other communities where there’s going to be high numbers of people to board and drop off on the train.
Buy your ticket at the ticket cashier/teller!!! Do not listen to anyone else about tickets, go into the ticket office and buy a ticket! There were 3 large wall clocks and all have the wrong time, is that chinese time zone on those clocks??? How can a train station have the wrong time on the displayed clock??? The station needs at least 1 more teller per destination. The access roads are terrible, LASG please fix the roads or create another better access route! The staff should have badges with name tags or something similar. Parking is free and plentiful!
Operates twice daily (morning & evening) everyday except for Fridays & Saturday which it operates 3 times including afternoon. Tickets cost N2,500 per trip and N5,000 for VIP. Although still yet to have an online purchase platform so you have to come early to purchase. ♿️ Disabled access available through the side of the building. Clean toilets and a nice waiting area fully air-conditioned with ample parking space though access has to come from behind through Pen Cinema Road. Overall: Satisfactory
Agege train station is a cozy place where you can board train from Lagos to ibadan or to the last bustop. It's a big station thats already with most of The facility needed to function as interstate station. The early morning movt is as early as 8am anv the economy class is just 2600 while first class is around 6000. For children, they will not pay upto the price of adult. For much comfort, you can give the new reformed system of Nigerian railway system. A trial and u will surely be convinced.
Nobody to help with your bags for free. The escalator is working now so it makes getting your luggage to the boarding point easier. Also come really early to get your train tickets so as not to miss out on the ticket you want. First class tickets finishes really early and business class follows right after. Only cash payment is allowed at the moment. And the prices of tickets has increased also. Find out the price before starting your journey.
Impressed with the facilities present at the Train Station. There are escalators and stairs within the station for ease of maneuvering from the boarding platform to or from the complex. The factors that could be improved on are the ticketing, it would make life easier if it's automated. Crowd management during rush hour could also be improved on. All in all, if the drive for excellence can be pursued and sustained, great things could come to pass.
Typical train station. Pretty basic waiting area and fairly comfortable. The access road to the train station was quite a surprise. The speakers in the waiting area sounds very unclear, one cannot make a single sense of what the announcer says. Generally, I didn't notice any restaurants within the station. It has got wheelchair accessible entrance anyway and wheelchair accessible parking even though the latter doesn't apply necessarily.
Good structure, unsafe community. The station is well built and staff are good. However, the station surroundings feels unsafe. Lots of homeless youths move freely around the train station. When I say freely, I mean you see them everywhere around the station, on stairs leading to terminal, Some sit on train rails. You name it. There is not acess control by official as at this time. Be careful when ever you transit at this station.
Th3 train service is super exciting. However, there are too many crowd recently. To avoid missing the train you may have to get there at least 3 hours to departure however its not guaranteed that you would get a ticket and even if you do get one. It may likely be standing. This is because of the crowd fueled by 1. Fear of unknown along Lagos Ibadan express way and Christmas related crowd.
Rode the train for the first time. Got two tickets for my friends and me, and got our seats it was crowded though because people were been sold standing tickets which shouldn't be. But it was a smooth ride to and fro. While coming I got standing tickets too but I was able to find a place to sit, because the tickets cost you the same price so it made no sense not to find a place to sit.
This wort giving a trial. If you are going to park your car at the train station it's at the owner's risk. Then getting the ticket is not hard at all. After booking your ticket make sure you're with your nose mask. Then, you will scan your bag and sit. the departure area is fully air-conditioned. On the train, you just have to sit according to your coach's number and seat number.
I don't have a problem with Agege train station but Abeokuta train station. Today, a seat was sold to two people. Not only 1 not 2. It was a rowdy & noisy trip to Lagos this morning. People that paid for seats end up standing to Lagos. The question now is, how do you account for these excuses ? The staff checking on our tickets were confronted & they could not even say anything.
Easily accessible ultra modern train terminal right in the heart of Agege. Organised ticketing process. Comfortable waiting room. Excellent customer service and spacious car park. Though there's still so much work to do in the premises especially at the front lurch where people defecate making a mess of the terminal. But all in all, it's a great place to be.
The road leading to the station isnt too good. The train leaves on time and you need to be here early enough to get your tickets as online reservation is still not available at this time. The coaches are clean and comfortable and accessibility to the platforms are functional. The cabins are a bit cold so grab a jacket if this will be a challenge.
Easily accessible. Government should as a matter of urgency activate online ticketing system. NRC staff can run down the operations with ticket racketeering. I paid for Ibadan which was ₦3600 but I was given Abeokuta ticket. Apart from the above. The station was easily accessible and more can be put in place to make commuting easy.
As at today, 31st March, 2022. The station is well coordinated, Staff are on point. Facilities is on point fully air-conditioned at the departure. At the departure, there's Separate Prayer Room for Male and Female Muslim folks. As well as Christian Prayer Room. Toilet is well maintained. There's VIP Lounge. More details to come.
Great to know that number of trips per day is gradually increasing but the manual system of buying tickets is fraught with a lot of issues. It is possible to get to the station early enough and still not be able to secure tickets until the number of unoccupied seats is communicated to the station from Mobolaji Johnson Station.
Seems to be a home for the homeless horde of boys from the North. Security is zero! Does not qualify for a good rating until all the miscreants are kept away from around the station. If there is any communal clash, passengers stand the risk of being attacked. Sadly, nobody seems to be responsible to do their jobs in Nigeria.
Very lovely place... The train station is world class with ease of great facilities and time consciousness. Although there is a queue in line at the ticket booking point which should be worked on. I personally think ticket booking should be more convenient and probably done both online and offline for a better experience.
The train station is beautiful. The environment is conducive for grown-ups and children. It is a safe place to be children. The tickets booking is well arranged and the queue is maintained to get tickets. The waiting room is clean and comfortable. The restroom is also clean. I enjoyed my stay before boarding the train.
Security around the premises is zero. There should be a sense of security for passengers, this is a station in Agege with rough looking guys all over the place. Secondly, the road that leads to this station is really bad for a facility that big! Shiaba as a street need to be rehabilitated and the street cleaned up.
Great facilities, Met with hostile staff members, also there was a delay in boarding over one hour. Was quite tired but the journey itself was a smooth one. Was surprised we got to our destination before the expected time. Was below my first time expectations but I'll be using it again and again. Good one overall
Looks great. I just hope they maintain the facilities. I am giving it 4 stars because the cashiers are extorting people by not giving out their change (since they operate only cash). I asked for my change N400 and he told me to leave so i dont miss my train. This form of extortion has got to stop.
The staff at Babatunde Fasola Train Station, Agege were all effective, cordial and friendly. The station itself was a pleasant place, with comfortable seats, power outlets to charge your devices while waiting for the train arrival. The boarding was smooth and orderly. The trip was a pleasant one.
The place is like other stations. I like the place except that there was no soap to wash after using the rest room. There seems to be no staff attending to the restrooms or no one was on duty or the person on duty abandoned his duty post. They can certainly do better to maintain the restroom here
A nice and train stop station. It’s the first stop on a journey to Ibadan and the penultimate on a journey to lagos. The road that leads to the station is not coming that good. Also, beware of area boys on your way in too. Overall, a neat interior but the street leading to it is dangerous.
This train station was named after the former governor of Lagos. You can board train going to other states like Ibadan, abeokuta, abuja, etc. The train station have a spacious car park and boarding apartment. Beside the staircase is an escalator that uses sensors. It is on the exit side.
Actually I haven't used it, when I wanted traveling to the north I was told they were on break to that area cos of what happened along Kaduna road. But seeing the way people troop in with Joy I know it's good and also their fee is very affordable, also the train's are super cool …
Ok. I guess. The morning staff from ibadan are very noisy. The attached police and female staff very uncultured in their communication. The train is dirty on the outside. The linking elevators don't work often . Please try to maintain the nation's asset well .Thank you.
Train station is well accessible but route to the station is not safe though…Some touts on road tried to stop and ask for penny, I think best thing to do is to settle them and go peacefully but not encouraging much to use bike on the accessible roads to the station
It was a very good time here. There is just a lot of things to be done with coordination and arrangements. In my experience, train tickets were sold late and one of the officials was rude. I was forced to leave my balance as there was no change for the fees paid.
The train station is really nice. I can't wait for the other structures to go up completely so that it will come to its full potential. All in all, the standard is nice. It just needs POS or card swiping system instead of customers paying cash for tickets.
Train ride was good and ok, the Taxis outside had exhorbitant prices , there was no waiting area for return passengers in the evening as we were asked to leave the area becuase there were no longer staff available. Asides this, everyother thing is ok
I was really expecting the government to work on the road since there is a tran station there, at least the read will make the area more beautiful & add a beautiful color to the tran station. I just hope they will look into it & work in the road.
Good. But the Coach managers in the first class Coach where I stayed did not regulate the Air-conditioner there. It was so cold, despite it was raining outside. I suggest they make it in a way that each passenger. Could regulate it. Thanks
The edifice is beautiful Ticketing agents attended to everyone even with the long queue. It's a thing of great joy to see the rail transportation still in existence Some amendments can be made which I believe the government are working on
Now called Babatunde Fashola Train Station, after being rebuilt into a fantastic edifice. You can board the Lagos–Abeokuta–Ibadan train from the station. Very clean and comfortable and all the facilities are in too shape. Fantastic!
The agege train station is one of the many station on the route of the Lagos to Ibadan trip, I love that the train station is accessible, basic waiting area as the others . It had shops around to cater to the needs of the people.
Fine Station building but Security Procedures are very lax - no ID checks & poorly trained ground staff. Considering the unfortunate event on the Abuja/Kaduna route, Security needs to be seriously upgraded on ALL routes.
The scene was quite nice but not disability friendly. More signs and labels could help for easy access. Payment was only able to received in cash, making it uneasy and unpleasant for people to buy their train tickets.
It was quite easy getting on the train here even though we did not get seats. We paid cash at the station as there was no online payment or payment via POS. The train arrived promptly at 8.30am...NO AFRICAN TIME...
Good and comfortable. Only bad experience l had was the last time in November, that the pilot so to speak,is still a leaner, the way he or she matches brake was alarming still a learner used us as a learning tool.
Averagely good in customer service. Orderly in procedure and processing. Good air conditioning system. Try to have a cardigan or cloth that covers your body well on or handy. Can be too chilled some times.
The train station is an impressive innovation by the FGN. However, I think there is need to upgrade tye neighbourhood, and find ways to mitigate/eradicate the hazard of criminals and their vices there.
A very lovely innovation. My ride in the business class cabin of the train from Agege to Moniya, Ibadan station was cosy. If this is maintained, train travels would be a thing in Nigeria in no time
I took the train from Ibadan to Lagos... The facility is still very new... However, navigating out from station is another matter ... I was initially lost, as regards where in Agege I was located..
Good parking space, fast purchase of tickets However, expect crowdiness during public holiday(s). Rating 7/10 there's room for improvements and the road leading up to the train station is shambles
My first train journey experience started from this lovely station. I enjoyed the ambience in the departure hall. Lovely building. And I enjoyed every moment of my train ride from Lagos to Ibadan.
Had a brief stopover at Agege train station, on my way to Ikeja Airport. All the passengers stood for hours for the rain to subside/stop. There should be a sitting area for the arriving passengers
It is a clean, serene environment. The toilets are well managed and the indoor is well ventilated and well lit. There are security checks and the elevator works(in case you have heavy lauggage)
had a wonderful experience, the AC is chilling, at a point a janitor came to sweep dirt, but i think more can be done on increasing speed of the train because it is to slow for such standard
A lovely and newly built train station with eyesore shanties and so much dirtiness in the surroundings. You can't build such an edifice and close one's eyes to the environmental degradation.
Beautiful, spacious, well- built, properly situated Train Station in the heart of Agege. Not far from the Air Port (Plane Station) & easily assessible to most areas in the metropolis! …
Their service is really quick, to be honest it's one of the few good things Nigeria has done in recent years. Let's hope they maintain properly just as they've constructed it properly
I boarded a train from Agege station to Moniya,Ibadan. It was a nice experience for me being my first time on a train. It was a smooth trip. The interior of the train was muah. …
A beautiful station of it's kind. Have a well spaced waiting room, in a serene and clean environment. An accommodating parking space with easy entry and exit. And clean restrooms.
Buying tickets was easy. Ensure you have a means of identification as you would be asked for one before buying a ticket. The train also arrives and departs on time.
The train is always punctual so that’s good. Place needs an escalator though— stairs lead into the boarding area and it becomes an uphill task if you have luggage.
On the road again and this time....Ibadan Station was neat,I was very happy to see people queuing for their tickets unlike Itakpe and Agbor. #ilovetrains #stimela
It's a great work done by the government for the safe travel of their customers. The train station is safe and good place to use if you want to travel by train
Train station. Not fully completed. Neatly built and magnificent building. The access to the location is not too neat, looks like a slum. Service feels good.
It works, but something needs to be done about the whole standing arrangement. It's about time you had an online booking and more flexible payment options
Train leaves Yaba for Agege at 4pm sharp and Agege for Abeokuta and Ibadan 4:10pm sharp, very wonderful means of transportation fully Air conditioned too
Scary train station, the environment is full of passers-by. Lots of people sleeping on the train tracks and environment. Bad to candid. We can do better.
Clean environment and the staffs are courteous & amazing. Ah the crowd for holiday goer's is much and something needs to be done about online ticketing.
The station needs better paved access roads and automated or digital ticketing. Having to buy ticket on a physical cash basis is not appropriate
I have not boarded a train in this facility but it's just like every mordan facility in Nigeria today to transform our transportation system
Different ticket price on the ticket #2,000, different price on the stamp at the back of the ticket #3,000, they are collecting #3600.
It's okay. Sometimes, there's a long queue so you have to go really early to get a ticket. And at night, some people loiter about.
Beautiful railway station, very clean, train was so good , 1st class, business class and economy class., train coaches fully Ac,
I can't imagine why such a structure be built in an area like agege with street boy harassing every body the passenger
It is a lovely area easy to navigate The station is still under construction possesses, so there is no much to say for
It was a wonderful experience that I hope to try again in the nearest future. It's very conducive and cost effective.
Very easy in traveling with best security guard Military control come in and move forward with easy way of traveling
Train always on time. Announcements done in Nigerian accents, which makes it easier for people to understand them.
AGEGE train station and ikeja along new train station is just 5mins drive , safe and beautiful too …
Nice location to get on the train to Abeokuta and Ibadan, but the road leading the train station is a mess.
The service is top quality and facility managed well , my trip was very smooth to ibadan and back to lagos
Very encouraging, in the light of the many failures of public institutions, this is a breath of fresh air!
The train station is quite clean and easily accessible to the public. The sale of tickets are also fast.
First stop on Lagos to Ibadan Train service. An upcoming busy train station. Almost at 100% completion.
One of the best Railway stations in Nigeria. Cool environment with capable Workers and Administrative.
The is amazing. Everyone deserves to be comfortable when travelling and Agege train station offers it.
The train station looks well managed, the road there was better than that if Abeokuta but is still bad
It is a remarkable achievement. I'm sure it will improve the standard of living in Agege and beyond.
Miscreants are easily having access to the platforms. Indiscriminate defecation around the premises.
It's a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere is conducive, the train coaches are human friendly.
Today is my first time too agege train station very nice place, there surrounding is clean up well
I love the place but they only need to tare the road lead to the place from Mosalasi Alhaja road
Comfortable and worth the money. But remember to bring a cardigan or hoodie. The AC is freezing
It's so cool. Although customer service is crappie and a bit slow, the ambience is everything.
The train station is located at a easy access way, enough parking space and nice environment
The build quality of the station is good but station authorities needs better coordination
The ambiance is peaceful and beautiful, I hope they continue with the maintenance culture.
