This was the worst reception I have had in 60 years of travelling. My wife and I have stayed literally thousands of nights in all levels of accommodation all over the world and I have made over 1000 submissions to TripAdvisor, which have been read by over 350,00 people. I have mostly given scores of between 3 and 5. We had carefully selected Albion Manor for two nights when we were volunteering for Red Cross at a United Nations conference in Brisbane (something we mentioned to the woman at reception). When we arrived, I said that I wanted to use cash as I didn’t consider it worthwhile to pay a credit card charge of 2%. The receptionist (helpfully) suggested that I could use a debit card, which I did. We had booked a Deluxe Queen Room (with a Queen Bed and a single) as I suffer from sleep apnoea and, if I get too noisy in my sleep, my wife can move to the single bed and there were no twin rooms. We have done this at many hotels around the world. The web site says “Rates are for 2 guests. Extra guest charge is $25.00 per night.” The woman at reception then showed us to a room with a Queen plus two single beds, which didn’t bother us. However, my wife did point out the medical issue and say that we might use one of the single beds. At this, the woman said that we would have to pay the extra, claiming that the website said that using two beds would incur the extra cost, which isn’t correct. She then behaved most oddly and said that she could see that we were going to be trouble and she was cancelling the booking. We tried to dissuade her but she was strongly adamant. After this, my wife pointed out that a review of this behaviour wouldn’t look good on TripAdvisor. Once again, the woman, who claimed to be the manager but wouldn’t give us her name, became belligerent again, claiming we were being aggressive and threatened to call the police, which we welcomed her to do. At no stage did we even raise our voices. She said that she will respond to any review by us with her side of the story. I am fully prepared to swear an affidavit that what I have said in this review is the truth. In my opinion, this woman should not be in a position dealing face to face with the public. At such a late juncture, it then took us nearly an hour to find alternative, more expensive, accommodation (initially for only one night) in a less convenient location.

My partner, my 14mo son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Albion Manor. Even with a cot the room is one of the most spacious I've stayed in without it being it's own villa or premise. Very clean and tidy which is one of our highest priorities when staying in paid accommodation. And I saw mentioned in reviews read before our stay about the shower pressure and it did not disappoint. Staff were lovely and helpful and location is very close to restaurants and Cafes yet still no noise disruption by any life outside. I highly recommend the Thai from Thaiways it was one of the best I've had! Wouldn't hesitate to stay again if ever in the area.

Good sized room, comfy bed, clean and tidy. Great water pressure in the shower. The reception and other staff are always friendly and welcoming. Free parking just underneath the motel and easy to access. Quick and easy check-in and checkout. Good location, a variety of restaurants/pub/bistro just down the street, relatively easy access to public transports within a few minutes walk. Good place to stay just outside of Brisbane City areas.

I didn't have any issues while I stayed there for three days. *The place has an undercover car park where I parked the car without an additional fee. *The train station is close. I caught the train twice. It was a short and comfortable walk. The train goes directly to some important locations including Fortitude Valley, City and South Bank. *I used the internet without additional fee. * It was quiet when the windows were closed. The air conditioner kept the place cool.

If you like people coming inside the premises and banging on someone's door screaming "you owe me money c*&^" at 9pm at night - then this is the place to stay. Also if you're OK with the manager lady and staff smoking right outside the front doors (which in fact are never locked as requested) then this is the place. Room was comfortable and conveniently located. Unfortunately next time I will look elsewhere.

I agree with a previous review, the manager was extremely rude when we requested a late check in, saying she was going to cancel our booking because she didn't believe who we were. Arrive to staff loitering out the front smoking as you walk to the entrance. Staff presentation was also appalling, staff wearing trackpants hoodies and wife beater singlets.Overpriced for the terrible experience, will not be back

Made the trip to watch Magic Round in the NRL. Rooms clean and had everything needed. Hosts friendly and helpful. Location was out of CBD. 10 - 15 mins walk to Train station. A pub on the corner was good for a night cap on the way home each night. Not far from airport - about 15 minutes by Taxi/Uber. Good food venues for breakfast also close by.

I phoned to book accommodation for a weekend at the last minute. The lady on the phone was pleasant and managed to find a room available. On arrival, Nicola was very accommodating and friendly. She recommended some places to eat that matched my choices and were walking distance. My room was very clean. The gardens and pool area was clean and all staff interactions were great. Will recommend

Stayed here for 2 nights booked out 2 rooms last minute and it’s been amazing here ! The rooms are clean and very spacious with 3 beds in it. Had a great swim in their pool , they have so many areas outside where you can sit and relax. Very close to a lot of shops and food places. Staff there are such beautiful people. Lovely motel and staff were friendly and helpful. Lot's of eateries around and not too far away from the city and airport. Undercover parking. A small step between the bedroom and bathroom could give some people a sore toe if not wary but quiet and comfortable.

While it's a 3-star motel, the beds were very comfortable, the room was clean, the shower water pressure was amazing and Albion Manor Motel's proximity to everything Brisbane was perfect for our needs. We spent three nights with them between 26 and 28 December, and were perfectly comfortable not only in the room but also with the price. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

I thought i had given a review here ages ago? Anyway the staff are really nice and friendly, it's nice to see places like these especially in the big smoke and so welcoming and to eager to help you. Very reasonable on price, this is my third time in this motel and I'll definitely be back if i need accommodation in Brisbane, thanks guys - Ivan M.

Location was great, sadly the motel is in need of refurbishment. Hopefully that can happen, if the price reflected the standard then that's okay, but it was nearly $200 per night !!!! Free parking a positive.

My disabled son stayed here at the beginning of February. The staff were friendly and very helpful to him. It was his first holiday on his own. They even went above and beyond to help him get dinner on his first night.

Haven't finished my stay, but so far the staff have been friendly and helpful. It's in a good location for public transport, especially if you're like me and don't want to drive into the city to stay.

Best little motel north of the city. Close to trains, buses, bars and plenty of restaurants. Rooms are spotlessly clean and the onsite managers are amazing and will do anything for you.
