This team responded to fire at my location at about 1800 hours. I was burning dead grass back because of bottle cap fireworks that come around my home. In the past, I have seen them on my roof, around the yard. I had one incident where it caused a small fire I was able to put out. Today the fire went under the Yucca and although I had a water supply it cause a lot of smoke. Thus having Station 9 to Deploy when they have bigger fish to fry as first responders, all were very cordial and friendly taking my hose and attaching my sprinkler which was more efficient. I felt bad because I know there will be more fireworks tonight and they will be busy. I didn't get names but the driver was very helpful, and the lady made sure I was okay before they left. This isn't the first time I had experienced with Station 9 they help many times before my wife passed they had been out here. The last time 12/6/2017 they worked on her over an hour when she had cardiac arrest.

One of the newest City Fire Stations, in 2020 replaced a 56-year-old Station across the street. Evidently not without design flaws – it's apparently one of the Stations reporting 100° overheating in the truck bays in July '23. Still a beautiful facility with high-tech amenities for the staff; and a giant, multicolor salvage-metal statue of a Phoenix posted outside. They have 3 trucks compared to the old station's 1, originally: a 'Rescue,' an 'Engine,' and a 'Ladder' – the first ladder truck ever east of Wyoming Blvd. —Right next door to the locally-famed Skyler White car wash location from _Breaking Bad_ (that's the car wash behind my Phoenix pics).
