Do NOT go here for a haircut, especially if you have short hair!!! It was a one off choice to go here as my normal hairdresser is away and due to the good reviews I thought it would be great. The hairstylist herself was lovely but she has absolutely ruined my hair. I have a short bob that needed trimming and the stylist here cut it completely and really noticeably lopsided, one side is at least 1 or 2 inches longer than the other (which I didn't realise upon leaving as she'd blow dried my hair under with a round brush). The layering is also completely off and different lengths, if it's not straightened one side doesn't sit flat as it's so bulky. I went to ask for a refund and was told the first instance policy is for them to fix the mistake. I explained that obviously I didn't trust them to touch it given the circumstances - I have very short hair already, that doesn't grow fast, and I'm getting married in 4 months so can't risk it being even more messed up to the point it's unfixable! The receptionist and stylist I spoke to were lovely. They acknowledged the very obvious mess that is my hair, said they understood why I wanted to get it fixed elsewhere and that they'd be in contact once they'd spoken to a manager. I got a phone call a few hours later to say the manager refused to authorise a refund as it 'wasn't their policy' and I had to accept the money on account to spend at Allertons, as if I had any desire to go back or buy any of their products! So I might as well have thrown £45 down the drain and now I have to pay even more to get it fixed! Honestly if I could give it no stars I would, so, so disappointed. Can't believe that any respectable business would refuse to give a customer a refund after providing such a terrible service.

I feel cheated by this salon. I visited the salon several times to have my hair cut and was charged the standard price that applied to all Allertons' hairdressers. It was not cheap and I could have obtained the same service more cheaply in a different salon. I reasonably assumed that all the hairdressers had the same or comparable qualifications and experience since the same price applied. I had a terrible shock when I saw the revised price list sent to me by Allertons, which made it clear that the hair stylists were classified according to their qualifications and experience. My stylist is just level 1. This was never explained to me, nor was I aware that I was paying a comparatively high fee for a Level 1 stylist. The price of a Level 1 stylist (mine) is now considerably lower than the price of a Level 4 stylist. The difference is quite staggering. I have been taken for a complete fool. I have now gone to a different salon, which charges the same price I was charged for the Level 1 stylist for a Level 4 stylist. The difference in the hair cut is significant.

Booked an appointment,got called to book a consultation and I asked if I'd booked appropriate time duration for what I wanted. The receptionist said only a stylist would know the answer, I asked if I could speak to a stylist when one was available but got told there was none available, ever. I explained that I would be travelling a long way and wanted to know I wasn't wasting my time or an appointment simply because I needed clarity on the duration of the appointment for what I wanted. I rang other hairdressers and they were happy to tell me the duration of treatments and if I'd need extra time. The lady on the phone was pure lazy, disgusting attitude. Poor ethics, will get a pathetic excuse skirting around the facts and that I need to have my hair seen to tell me if I'd booked the correct length of treatment but other salons are capable yet this one isn't. The level of snobbery doesn't match the poor attitude. Avoid this tacky establishment at all costs. Unless of course you like being disrespected.

My partner has come home in tears after her haircut. My partner has quite short hair, and so normally always goes to the same salon. Due to her hairdresser being on holiday she decided to try Allertons. They have managed to completely mess up the cut, with one side of her long bob being 2 inches longer than the other. We went into the salon the next day to complain and ask for a refund, due to the obvious errors. They said they would like the opportunity to fix the mistake - but due to how poor the first cut was, my partner didn't want them going anywhere near her hair again. The stylist and receptionist we spoke to both openly acknowledged how obvious the mistake was, and said that they would speak to the salon manager to try and arrange a refund. A few hours later we got a call to say that no refund would be offered, and that my partner could have salon credit - as if she would ever go back in to use it. Avoid at all costs - bad haircut - badly dealt with customer service

Worst customer service ever. This is not my first time to Allertons Leeds, I am a regular customer of Allertons John Lews for almost 3 years now but this is first time with Allertons Queens arcade and I have to tell I didn't see unprofessionalism like them ever. Since I got their appointment for hair cut, I didn't look for any other option and at the day of appointment, after making me wait for almost 15 mins, the stylist told me she don't have enough time to complete my appointment hence she wants me to come back after a week (when the next appointment is available to look for an appointment in Allertons John Lews). They should understand people are taking some time off from their office work to get the work done and this is not at all professional to tell them to come back another day after 15 mins of wait. One suggestion, if you can't complete an appointment, please don't book for one.

Allertons Leeds is amazing. I went today (22/4/23) and i felt so welcomed. It’s so easy to get to; about a 10 minute walk from both the bus station and the train station. The salon itself is beautifully laid out, and super clean. Because it’s upstairs, it was quiet, and couldn’t hear the people in Leeds, which was particularly busy today due to the football. My stylist sophie was incredible, she offered me a drink, and asked exactly what i wanted and told what she recommended. Throughout the haircut, she was so polite and made sure i was comfortable. My hair is in between 2C/3A, and she made it look incredible. I’ve always found that stylist don’t know what to do with my hair as it’s neither straight or curly, and sophie made it look absolutely stunning. I couldn’t recommend Allertons more. I will 100% be returning.

Fairly disappointed with this business' policies on cancelling appointments due to illness especially for loyal customers. I used Allertons for hairdye, cut and trim a couple of times spending at least £80 each time. On my 3rd appointment I was really unwell and had to cancel last minute and the reception kept insisting that I have to be charged for last minute cancellation even though I explained a few times that it was not possible for me to know I d be unwell 48h ago (!) I understand how these policies are in place for not losing money, but we re all people and things happen. Using discretion to understand when someone is being genuine should come before any given policy. I would feel uncomfortable to use this business again and found a more friendly place.

I very rarely give bad reviews, I don't like being awkward or causing trouble and if I don't enjoy a service I normally just think it wasn't for me. But I have had an awful experience with them. My haircut is genuinely awful and nothing like what I asked for. I was belittled and told that I was given "a grown up version" of the haircut I asked for. When I tried to ask them for a refund they tried to give me a free haircut but I wasn't interested because I don't really trust them not to ruin it again. I asked for a refund again, they refused and tried to tell me the haircut is actually what I asked for. I'm asking for a chargeback from my bank so fingers crossed, but yeah don't go here.

I've always hated going to the hairdressers but needs must. This is the fifth time I've gone to Allerton's and have used both John Lewis and the one in the Queens Arcade, which I prefer. Libby did my hair for the first time and I came away very happy with the style I had asked for. It looks very healthy, feels good to touch, and whats even better is I can do it myself and it looks almost as good as when Libby did it. Thank you Libby I'll definitely be back:)

I booked it for my 3 year old daughters birthday . Staff was good the hair dresser Tom was very friendly and did a great job. Just the place was not that clean. The chair in which he made my daughter sit was having hair from the last cut. The comb which they were using was quite old and broken . We did not expect this at Allerton. But with the haircut we were fully satisfied. My daughter had a good experience as it was her first hair cut.

My all around experience with Allerton’s was excellent! Libby who did my hair was so professional and friendly :) I had my hair done for a wedding first thing at 9:30AM. It was gorgeous and stayed perfect until I went to bed after midnight! When I was booking my appointment, the staff were so helpful and accommodating in sorting out the particular service I wanted and it was really appreciated! I will definitely be back :)

Chloe is absolutely fantastic! I recently had a Lycon wax treatment for my legs, arms, and intimate areas, and she made the experience as comfortable as possible. Her expertise and attention to detail were evident throughout the session. Chloe's professionalism and friendly demeanor instantly put me at ease. Chloe was very professional and just amazing! I went for waxing and I can definitely say that it's been the best experience so far. She's super friendly, easy to talk to and made me feel ag ease. I and my daughter recently had our hair curled at this salon, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The stylist worked with impressive speed, yet the curls turned out absolutely stunning. It was my first time at the Allertons salon and I had a wonderful experience. The staff are welcoming and professional. I had an Olaplex hair treatment and haircut with Stacy. Had a lash lift from Chloe and it was a lovely process she made sure I knew what was going on and that i was comfortable :) I didn’t have any issues regarding the lash lift no stinging or red eyes :) the reason I have given 4 stars is because it has been less than a week since I had it done and my lashes have fallen a bit which is disappointing as I’m having to curl them with my lash curler

Kara was a delight - friendly and courteous throughout and was sensitive to my needs. I had never been to this salon before but she made me feel welcome and at home. The cut and shaped my hair beautifully and I was very happy with the result. The salon environment was tasteful, comfortable and clean. It was a lovely experience from start to finish and I look forward to coming back.

Very very poor and unprofessional attitude in Leeds Queens Arcade Allertons. I was 15 minutes late even though I had called before to say so as I was really in for an emergency. I was shocked at how they responded, they just cut b me straight, and was extremely rude and very impolite. It left a very bad taste. They did not do my hair service at all.

Natasha was amazing! I’m always apprehensive about going to the hairdressers but Natasha listened to what I wanted, checked with me before cutting any length off and took her time to ensure I was happy with the style. So happy with my new hairstyle, I left feeling very confident. I will definitely return to Allertons with Natasha. Thank you!

Katie, as always, gives an absolutely excellent cut. As a man with longer hair, it's a balance to make it not look overly feminine and she achieves it perfectly, every single time! Morgane was lovely and really understanding (I haven’t been to a hairdresser in over a decade so my hair is in a state!), was able to quickly identify areas needing more care and stressed the importance of meeting my own wants with what hair care may be necessary. Looking forward to my proper appointment!

Morgane was polite and friendly and asked how much length I wanted off my hair as I was having a dry cut. She accommodated my needs and kept the chat flowing throughout the cut. She showed me my hair in the mirror at the end and finished it off with just chopping into it at the ends to finish it off.

Appointment with Maria for the first time. Going for a new style and explained what I was looking for. Maria offered excellent advice and I was beyond happy with the result. She was so friendly and won’t hesitate to go back to her for my next appointment. Would highly recommend Maria and Allertons.

Libby did my hair wash, cut and styling today 02/05/2023. I am really happy with the hair cut and style. Libby was very professional, polite and I felt well looked after. Highest standard of service and the salon itself is very modern and clean. I would recommend Allertons (Queens Arcade).

A lovely visit to the salon for the keratin smoothing treatment. I had a lovely stylist who made me feel at ease and answered my questions. I feel I cannot give it 5 stars until I have washed and blow-driedmy hair after the 3 days I need to wait for this process to take full effect.

Had an absolutely wonderful time getting my eyebrows threaded here. I usual dread getting my eyebrows threaded because of the pain and after care. Chloe has done a marvelous job and making it as painless as it can get. Would highly recommend getting your eyebrows thread by Chloe.

The service was smooth and easy, I called to inform that I will be a bit late from my appointment and they were able to accommodate me. Molly was really friendly and good. The waxing process was not painful, it’s my second time there and will do my waxing from them onwards.

Cloe was amazing! Very professional and super good with waxing even on my delicate skin. She suggested me to go for threading on my eyebrows since I mentioned I used to get very red and small burns with waxing, and everything went very smoothly and fast. I recommend her!

I’ve had my hair cut here a couple of times. They’re always really friendly and I trust that they’ll do a good job with my hair. This time I just went for a dye consultation and allergy test but they were helpful and efficient and I know that I’ll be in safe hands.
