Horrible experience. I would never use or recommend All-star to anyone. Bad advice, incompetent work, and awful customer service, in my opinion. I called All-Star to fix the foyer door to my apartment (door needed new lock/handle and wouldn't shut properly). The owner came out and seemed nice/trustworthy. He gave me terrible advice and charged me $290 for a purported "fix" that resulted in me getting locked out a couple days later. I called them and they quickly sent an employee over. It took him literally 2 seconds to get into my apt with some type of lock opening device that looked like a slip of paper. (this, although the owner had told me he was installing a security lock dead bolt on my door). They charged me $150 for this service, which I paid only because I had my baby in my arms. I told the owner I was going to leave a bad review if he insisted on the $150 fee (as opposed to merely the $45 service call fee) and he told me, "Not my problem. Do what you have to do." So here's his bad review. Later I called the contractor who usually does work in our building. He charged $375 to undue everything All-Star had done and to fix everything perfectly. The Owner of All-star was very nice to me -- until he got my money. I feel I got totally scammed.

Dishonest ,fraud zero customer service and calls the cops oh people he knows. RUNNNNNNNNNN......he tells you $45 for consultation,$95+tax for the service ,he could not open the door and stated it’s more work for him so it will cost $180 I even agreed and he stated if that don’t work as in no guarantee it will open and he stated the next stage will be $250 if the $180 trial fails lololol Who does that.The good news gave him $125 and someone fixed a new lock for $50 as a gift after hearing my ordeal with this unprofessional locksmith .I read some of the reviews that’s why I called him PEOPLE LISTEN I question those 5x review did not match the person that showed up period.Its bad enough you lock yourself out and a locksmith from hell shows up.i hope people read your response and judge for themselves lolololol u are a joke.

Was away in the Caribbean and accidently locked both of my doors, wrought iron storm door and then regular door but only gave the pet sitting company the key to the interior one. Pet sitter of course couldn’t get in to take care of my animal and was trying to reach me but I was already in vacation mindset and didn’t check my phone or messages until the next day. I had to find a locksmith on a Sunday that would basically break in to my apartment without me being there or knowing me at all. Got a hold of Joe and explain my dilemma and that I need them to bust the storm door lock. With a picture ID and matching credit card pic’s we worked it out and my pets were now going to be taken care. What a complete life saver. Can’t thank you enough. JD

I have used All Star Locksmith probably since they moved into the neighborhood. I own a small rental building and live in a condo. I have used Joe for both with great success. They have installed new locks, repaired existing ones, and provided great hardware supplies at their store. It is remarkable what they carry in their space at the store. Joe and his son are professional and do great work. They never sell me what I don't need and always suggest the most economical solution. Joe is always available to give advice, seeking nothing in return. I will continue to use All Star Locksmith for all my lock and most of hardware needs.

These guys were friendly and they got the work done quickly on a door that has given many locksmiths trouble. However, WITHOUT checking first, they installed a lock and then charged me $420. He could tell I was dubious and he called the office to have them quote an over the counter price of $300 to make it look like he was giving me a deal to include labor for the $420. When I went to make copies of the key, my local hardware store said it was totally overpriced. I didn't realize they had a locksmith on hand or I would've called them first. Live and learn but don't call this shop.

My lock broke and left me locked out of my apartment. All Star said they'd be there within 30 minutes, but took 45. Then they asked for $600 + tax since the mechanism needed to be replaced and it was a lot of work. When I said that seemed to expensive, they went down to $525. I called another locksmith (King's), which gave a much cheaper quote. I sent the guy from All Star away, after paying the required $40 for the visit. The King's guy came in 15 minutes, opened the door and replaced the mechanism quickly and efficiently, and charged $395.

I love Allstar Locksmith and Hardware for many reasons. The owners, a wife and husband team keep a well-stocked store with beautiful plants gracing the front of their store and when you enter and ask for something they are patient, receptive and helpful! I have purchased many hardware items for projects around the apt. and recently needed to buy two new locks for my two doors and have them installed. Joe was amazing. Sweet, smart, strong and funny! He did an absolute great job installing our locks and he is worth every penny!!..

Always very nice. Tiny store but they seem to have everything you might need. I do wish they'd mask and require masks in there, especially during this latest surge, since the space is so small and unventilated. But it's not like you need to be in there very long. Just ask anyone for what you are looking for and they know exactly where to get it, so in and out in a flash. Plus, they have such green thumbs. I have bought gorgeous plants from them that are healthy and last forever.

Brought in a Schlage door lock to rekey it, having succesfully done a few with another locksmith who was further away. This guy on the other hand takes it apart and tells me it can't be done on this type of lock suggesting i need to buy a new one instead of just telling me he didn't know how to do it. Also, he couldn't put the lock back together after having taken it apart. Driving the extra few miles and going back to M&D Locks and Keys on Beverly.

These guys are GREAT!!!! I needed a lock installed on my mom's door and they promptly arrived and made a recommendation for a lock that made us all feel safe. Fast forward to a month later, the lock was loose and they promptly showed up again, fixed it with no hassle and did not charge us a dime. It's wonderful to find business owners who stand behind their work and can be trusted. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again!!!

I called Joe at 11:15 am and he said he would be by in 15 -20 minutes. I asked if he could actually come at 12pm because I had a phone call with my new boss and he said no problem. He showed up right on time and was so friendly and kind and I got back in my apartment in seconds. It doesn't get better than this! Keep supporting local shops that have been in the neighborhood for years, this is what makes the world a better place!!

Joe and his wife Victoria are the best key-makers in the game. Joe can duplicate Mul-T-Lock keys by sight, which is extremely helpful when you've lost the combination for it. He's always willing to make new Mul-T-Lock keys, let you go home to try them, and then stop back in to pay once you're certain the keys will work. A truly wonderful and helpful local business. I could not be happier with these folks. The price to copy a key is so dramatically less expensive and faster than the KeyMe kiosks. (For us to copy a simple brass key, it took about one minute and two dollars.) They were also very helpful when we were trying to figure out how to copy our front-door key which is a little funkier than the standard key. If we ever need keys copied, we're going straight here, no doubt!

I had called Allstar Locksmith and Hardware when my store front door entry buzzer stopped working. They sent a knowledgeable, courteous, and professional man down who immediately knew how to solve the problem. He quoted me a very fair service fee and then made the necessary repairs. It's been working great for several weeks now and I am very happy with the work done.

I got locked out of a clients appartment and I dont know the name of the guy who came but he was great took him less then 3 min to get in it was amazing. Ive locked myself out before and used a different service they charged me double the price and took hours to get in but not these guys they are pros im so happy to find a reliable reasonably priced locksmith.

I needed a high security key made that other locksmiths could not figure out. Joey at Allstar Locksmith and Hardware was able to get it done for me. I couldn't be happier. His prices are reasonable and he and his wife are really lovely people. Their store also has a pretty great selection of indoor houseplants. Definitely go here for any locksmith needs.

Great work - professional - pleasant interaction. Replacement work on the door knob for the main entrance door to our building. Also replaced a very old dead bolt lock on my apartment door. The lock needed to be cut off the door. The replacement lock looks great and is, of course, compliant with current building codes (unlike the the old lock).

We've used All-Star Locksmith twice now, once to open a door when we forgot keys and most recently to install a new lock. In both instances, they arrived on time, worked quickly and were really friendly and courteous. Their prices are also reasonable and we weren't hit with any surprise charges after the installation. I recommend them highly.

We have a house in Brooklyn, sometimes the locks get loose, sometimes we need to change them and whenever I call Joe, he is always available to help us out. I tried to add another set of hours (like what CVS has for the pharmacy) but I think only the store owner can do that. Anyway, as of this review, the hours are 10-6 Monday to Saturday and 11-5 on Sunday. My actual experience: very quick and affordable. Copied a key that the regular hardware store can’t do. Don’t go right before closing.

This locksmith was so unprofessional. I called two to ask eta’s and this guy called me back. I asked which locksmith it was and before if i could ask about eta, pricing, etc., he said “I’m from Allstate and I’m not fighting anyone.” It was super rude and i don’t think they would be helpful in an emergency.

Be prepared to pay full price ($45 service fee + $95 lock out fee) even if no actual labor is done on your lock. Customer service on the business end is deplorable. Actual locksmith (John), is knowledgable and friendly but is stuck playing middle man when it comes to final pricing and policies.

I want to support local business but the service here is horrendous.. had to ask three times for one item only to be asked what I was looking for; his response was "I don't know" so I had to dig into piles of random stuff in the back that I'm not sure was even for sale

Amazing work! I called in the morning, and they came by to install a deadbolt on a metal door that previously had no holes or anything for a security lock. Joey was incredibly polite and Josh did an incredible job! Would definitely recommend them in the future!

It is ok to get a key copied or something small like that, but the person who runs the store can not help you solve problems. The prices are not that great. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, there is plenty other hardware stores in the are.
