I have been insured with allstate for over 15 years had two claims one car and one house and they were easy to deal with for those. BOAT OWNERS BEWARE. I have insured boats with this company in the past and had issues. Two years ago i insured a boat i just bought and paid the policy's in full for the year. This year I have not received a renewal so I called the office I deal with to see what was going on. As always they could not help me on the phone but had to check into it for a couple of hours and get back to me. They called later and told me that I canceled the policy in 2006. The agent told me to go through my records at home and dig up the old paperwork and do the grunt work myself. Then I can for free do all their work and give them the info off that. All this because they could not find anything even though I paid this policy in person at their location last year around this time. This is the first company that I have dealt with that expects you to do their work for them. This company has good rates for cars and houses but don't expect them to provide any exceptional service and IF YOU HAVE A BOAT, INSURE WITH A COMPANY THAT SPECIALIZES IN BOATS THIS PLACE DOES NOT. PLUS YOU WILL SAVE MONEY COMPARED TO ALLSTATE. Was contacted by Allstate branch manager after requesting that from agent and was offered a sorry in a letter form if I wanted. If that is the resolve you are looking for then enjoy. This was clearly not the resolve anyone would have requested. STILL A ONE STAR SERVICE.

I submitted a quote online, and Mr. Rabih Salami promptly emailed me regarding the quote. I needed my vehicle insurance to start ASAP (the very next day), which was made even more difficult by the fact that I was transferring my vehicle from Québec to Ontario. Despite the fact that this time-crunch was due to my own procrastination, Mr. Salami basically dropped what he was doing to firstly answer my phone calls, and then to answer my multiple emails regarding questions about policy options, cost and the contract itself. He was responding to these emails as late as 7pm, after he had already left the office. My contract was ready by precisely 08:30 the next morning, due entirely to his willingness to work after-hours to get this done. When we encountered issues with obtaining a Driving Experience Record from my previous insurance company, Mr. Salami even called me back to try to help with the issue. Additionally, Allstate offered the absolute lowest rate for combined vehicle and tenant insurance. Other companies were offering me policies that were significantly more expensive, and didn't include comprehensive and collision coverage or tenant insurance. Would definitely recommend!

I am incredibly disappointed with the quality and professionalism of this company. We paid for renewal of our insurance policy in full for the year, 7 days before the deadline. After the deadline, I received an additional bill for a new policy that we did not consent to. I contacted this company to understand why I was being asked to pay another bill when I discovered, this company had CANCELLED my home insurance without my knowledge and increased my insurance policy. They told me my reimbursement cheque was in the mail and in order to re-activate my insurance policy I have to immediately pay the new increased policy cost. Cancelling my home insurance without my consent and without even informing me after I had already paid my bill ahead of time is quite frankly incredibly unprofessional and illegal! I had a very frustrating two days wasted on the phone with this company to try to get my home insurance re-activated immediately.

Yana is definitely one in a trillion!!!! I have never in my life experience came across some one so attentive, and honest. She holds very high standards in professionalism. My husband bought his first car and was looking for affordable insurance; my daughter recommended Allstate ( her carrier), and made the call. Yana took the call and got him on the road in days at at affordable rate. I was so impressed with Yana’s help- her gentleness, understanding, helpful and honesty; that I decided that I will consider switching my policies over to Allstate. Yana listened, and went right on it, and in no time called me with an unbelievable quote in comparison to my current policies. I can only say “thank you so much” for saving me over $ 500 . You are GREAT!!!! The world needs more like you!!! I will , without hesitation recommend Yana to friends and families. Allstate, Yana is definitely an asset to your company!

I was in their office shopping for home, car and motorcycle insurance after my provider for the past 7 years was trying to raise my premiums and was helped with one of the agents Marissa Currie. After a long frustrating day trying to get quotes from their competitors and dealing with so many agents brokers and companies it was a massive relief to deal with Marissa, very welcoming, patient, attentive and extremely helpful. She took the time to work out all the prices for me and insured I get the best coverage that suited my needs. It was effortless and very pleasant dealing with her. And for the best part she was able to secure all my policies at the absolute best rates, and trust me I shopped around everywhere. No other insurance company or broker even came close price wise and no other agent service wise. I highly recommend them and make sure to ask for Marissa, you won't be disappointed.

I needed to cancel my policy as we were moving to Newfoundland. I was told that I have to go into the office to sign some papers.My wife is disabled and I don't have a car and from where I live, at the moment, it is difficult to get to any of the offices. My wife had called to cancel before she left for NL, and explained her disability. The agent said she would call back. That never happened and with everything else going on at the time, my wife forgot to tell me. So for two months we have been paying to insure an apartment we don't live in. I just noticed it. Not happy!! Went I get to Newfoundland, won't be using Allstate!!!

Recently I have sold my house and moved in the new house which is lot less expensive than my old house. When I call and change the address and told them the old house is sold and please update the new address. The renewal came 5 months later still under my old address which is much more house value than the new house. They have charging me 5 months under the old house value before they corrected to the new house. I didn't get credit back and each time is a change they charge $10 fees. They have change 3 times of my policy which is not my mistakes. Please look at your bill each time you change something.

Incompréhensible et dégoutant. Je suis avec cette compagnie depuis bientôt 11 ans (2008-08), 1 assurance maison et 2 autos. Malheureusement j'ai dû faire 2 déclarations (montants de moins de $10 000) de sinistre, 1 en 2018 et 1 en 2019. Et là ils ne veulent plus m'assurer pour la maison ! (Google translate) Incomprehensible and disgusting. I have been with this company for almost 11 years (2008-08), 1 home insurance and 2 cars. Unfortunately I had to make 2 declarations (amounts of less than $ 10,000) of loss, 1 in 2018 and 1 in 2019. And there they do not want to insure me for the house anymore!

I shopped around and these guys offered the best rates. My house insurance couldn't be beat anywhere else. Vehicle insurance seemed average/comparable. Boat was about $70 less a year. I dealt with Terry Lu from the Bank Street office. Great service. He's extremely patient and helpful and always calls me back right away if he's unavailable. Needless to say, I'm very happy with Allstate. But I can't speak to the claim process. I haven't had any insurance claims with them (knock on wood) to know how they are with that. Would recommend.

I see some negative reviews here, but Terry Lu is amazing, seriously! I am no longer a client as I now live where car insurance is provincially serviced. I needed some historical information to help save me $1000 annually in fees (BC is expensive). Terry went above and beyond through many files to find the information when others wouldn't. If he will do this for someone who is not a client, I can only imagine how hard he will work for his clients. If I return to Ottawa I will be calling Terry.

Very surprised to see the negative reviews! I had a great experience with Rock Allen from here. He was so patient walking me through my policy. It’s actually the first time dealing with an agent where I came out understanding my policy in detail and didn’t feel rushed or pushed. Great customer service is hard to come by and my experience here was great! I really appreciated the time and detail Rock spent making me feel comfortable with everything. Really personable and professional!

the worst insurance service not in Ottawa or Canada but in whole universe .. I asked and call thousands times to remove one of my vehicle from the policy since 8 months ago but they just ignoring and still charging me .. I submitted claim to fix my another vehicle since ine year and no response till now .. be not insured Is much better than enrolled in this useless company .. im going to cancel all my multiple insurance with them ..

Let’s see if you can help me, I’ve emailed my all state people in Ottawa 5 times and not once have they gotten back to me. My house insurance jumped quit a bit and I’d like to know why since I’ve never made a claim. Hopefully you get back to me asap if not rest assured I’ll be cancelling my house and car insurance. Worst customer service I’ve ever seen.

Worst place i delt with i was sent an empty temporary insurance card with someone called back the same number they said no ine works there under that name and the guy cant fix my file since when an agency cant add a car on my policy and then he hangs up i would give 0 stars if i could worst service ever had

When I got my renewal papers , my truck insurance went from 230/month to 300/month . When I called to ask why they said my truck was a popular stolen item lol I shopped around and got a quote for 170/month . Overpriced and horrible wait time when you call as an existing client.

Police coverages and premium rates are very good. Unfortunately, with my luck, I had poor experience with custermer service for the majority of the time that they had my business. Having said that, I would still consider Allstate in the future.

Worst customer service imaginable. Good luck getting a hold of someone. Waited 2 hours on hold again today just to be told my quote was wrong and instead of it being 150 it’s 250/ month. That’s a $100/month difference
