This review is in response to service that I received 2/18/19. I had let brakes my grind longer than I care to admit. (Brake dust was caked on my rim) I asked a friend for a local mechanic—he said the ONLY place I should consider is American Auto Car. I was checked in...my car was pulled into the bay within SECONDS. When the mechanic that took my car (SUPER PERSONABLE) returned to the waiting area, he sat down, confirmed that I purchased the correct parts for the repair, told me the price, and thanked me. Johnny (owner) came in halfway into the repair asked what I was in for, went to check on my car then assured me I was being taken care of. American Auto ‘Care’—this is the place to go in NASHVILLE. These guys are honest, efficient, very reasonable, and down to earth. Thank you gentlemen—I’ll be sending everyone your way!

This is my second time taking my 09 Honda to Johnny and his crew. I will never take my cars anywhere else! I had a full AC replacement done back in January and although that type of repair is expensive overall, I felt that Johnny gave me a very fair price for the amount of parts and labor! My AC has been blowing fantastic for months since and they were able to get the repair done the same day. I just recently went in for a full brake replacement with rotors and the whole 9 and although this is a rather pricy repair as well, I am confident I got a good price and solid honest work from American Auto. I am so happy with this shop, it’s been years since I’ve found an trustworthy mechanic much less one on such a great work time line! Thank you again guys, I’ll be back!

Went there for a brake job and they told me that I need new brakes and rotors - at least $500 - $600, took it to budget brakes they physically showed me that the brake pads and rotors were like brand new even after 60k miles. Called owner and told him he needed to be honest with his customers period!! Before you go there get an opinion from somewhere else then take car to them, don't be surprised if they say you need a new engine, catalytic converter, brake shoes when the issue was a $2 spark plug! If you don't believe me try it! This is the second time this has happened to me after going there, had brain fart and went back for some more bad service. Stay clear!!

So happy that I decided to come here instead of Walmart. I came in not really knowing what was wrong with my car outside of needing new brakes. So when I tried to describe my issue and he didn’t understand he offered to drive the car and see what was going on. He(Johnny) could have taken advantage of the fact that I knew nothing about cars and said that it some expensive problem but instead he told me what was wrong and the order from most important to least so I could get in the road safely within the budget I had set! Will be returning in a couple of weeks for more work to be done! Super pleased!!!! Highly recommended!!!

Great and reliable place. I'm not from Nashville, but I took a chance based on the reviews online to get my car serviced by American Auto Care, and was extremely pleased with their honesty and willingness to accomadate my needs. I called 10 minutes prior to their closing time and they still sent a tow truck that night to pick up my car. Johnny and the rest of his staff are the most honest mechanics I have ever incountered. They do not try to take advantage of you (not even females) and work to provide you with the best service possible. 100% recommend Johnny at American Auto Care for your automobile needs.

I highly recommend you go here. I thought I had spark plug problems but the problem turned out to be worse. Johnny didn't charge me for looking at my car and said it needed a more detailed diagnostics so I took it to the dealership. The dealership wanted almost $3000 in repairs so I called Johnny for advice again. He recommended a local place at Nolensville Auto Care and they fixed my engine for a third of the dealership price. Thanks to Johnny and his recommendation, I saved almost $2000! Whenever I need a mechanic Johnny at American Auto Care will be my first call!

Honest and highly recommended!! Had repairs done on my 98 Nissan Maxima, wheel bearings, wheel hub, they tightened my screeching alternator belt, and repaired my damaged ignition coil connector, (my car was sputtering real bad). Service was quick, the manger Johnny was professional, didnt try to rip me off because I'm a lady. My car is driving and accelerating like a dream! Just can't say enough about the place. GREAT SERVICE!! This is most definately, the only place I trust, for my car repairs.

A few weeks ago I dropped off my vehicle there there due to motor oil leak. Very soon I got a call from them and was told that the problem was more than they could fix. When I went back to pick up my vehicle I was surprised that they wouldn’t charge me anything because they didn’t work on it. Man, back when I went to Meineke in Murfreesboro, no matter what the issue was, a diagnostic fee around $100 was guaranteed charge. I am truly impressed by how American Auto Care treats customers.

We were traveling through Nashville on our way to North Carolina, when we suddenly heard a strange noise coming from one of the wheel wells in our truck. I luckily found American Auto Care online and Johnny was not only able to fit me in on a very busy Saturday morning, but he and his mechanics were able to diagnose and fix the problem quickly and for a very reasonable price. Johnny went above and beyond to help us, and I will always be thankful for that.

Awesome Repair shop! Now my new favorite in Nashville! I took my truck here last year to have the AC charged after I had changed all the components myself, even though they were not doing all of the work American was happy to help me out and did an awesome job! They even found another problem that was necessary to be fixed so that my AC would work, my fan clutch was going out so they also replaced this for a very reasonable price, 5 stars!

I had a great experience at this location. Johnny was awesome he was very friendly and extremely helpful. My car needed some engine work the price was reasonable and they were very honest about what was needed and recommended additional services and locations that could assist me with the issues that they couldn't fix. I was super satisfied when I left and would definitely return for any other services I may need.

My lexus was overheating and I was procrastinating taking it In a shop because I knew it would cost a lot. My brother recommended this place to me we took it in and was diagnosed real fast. Johnathan Is very honest and knowledgeable he showed us everything that was wrong with the car and what needs to be fixed. I got my car back the next day. Definitely will be a long term customer. Can't recommended enough!!!

Likely to have found a long term mechanic in Nashville. They set the expectation of the process upfront and provided a detailed explanation of the problem/fix (and additional recommendation) before proceeding. Never felt up-sold. Johnny and team were professional, flexible, friendly, and ethical. These characteristics aren't the norm in the industry (in my experience). I strongly recommend American Auto Care.

American auto care came highly recommended to me from a knowledgeable friend when my mom came into town with an electrical issue. they looked it over and couldn't find anything wrong. they gave the car back to me without claiming any unneeded repairs or even charging me. I'll be back. it's hard to find trustworthy auto repair. i will be doing business here in the future for sure. thanks Johnny.

I have nothing but great things to say about this place. The staff were very cordial and knowledgeable and took care of my old Dodge Nitro. They gave me an itemized list that broke down all cost and took a day to do a lot of work on my vehicle. I will be going here for future major repairs. I wish I got the name of the guy I spoke with when I dropped off my vehicle he was awesome.

Once again, great service from Johnny and his crew! Twice now he has helped in an emergency and has gotten my car right in to be worked on. Friendly, reliable and affordable. There aren't many mechanics these days that you can say you trust your vehicle with, and trust to get an honest and fair quote for work to be done. I brought the car in for an oil leak and they said it was the valve cover and then when the oil leak continued after this repair they blamed the leak on the valve cover replacement part and so they replaced it again minus the cost of the part as it was covered on a warranty. had to take my business else where as this was not the issue. the leak was coming from the timing cover.

Since I have moved to Nashville in 2013, every car I have owned has gone to Johnny and his crew. They have given me rides to/from work, have been very competitively priced, and are some of the best guys this side of Nashville can offer for car maintenance. I am buying a new-to-me car soon and look forward to seeing them again, even if it costs me.

If you’re a girl this is a good mechanic. Johnnie is honest, explains things without being condescending, and doesn’t try to rip you off. That’s rare if you’re a woman, I’m used to mechanics either ignoring me or trying to get over me. I’ve been there twice so far and both times I ended up paying less than what I thought.

American Auto Care repaired my axle leak in an hour and was literally half as expensive as a national chain that previously quoted me for the work. They're the nicest guys around and they do great, honest work. I will visit them for everything I need in the future and will recommend them to anyone who needs work done.

I have taken all of my vehicles here for ten years! They have done oil changes, tire repairs, belts, hoses, differential changes, and much more. Never had a job that they couldn't fix! The owner Johnny is nice as can be along with his two techs! I recommend all my friends and family to get their car care needs there!

I would highly recommend this shop. This is family-owned shop. John and his son were very professional and courteous. This facility was clean and catered For good customer service. They have my business for life. I accidentally stumbled upon this facility when I stopped at the traffic light. They were a God sent.

Jonny is the best! I wouldn't trust my Camry to any one else. Great service. Clean waiting room. Family friendly. Kind and genuine staff. Female friendly! The rates are practical and they work to offer you the best price, will even calls around. Not many kind community mechanics left, but here you have one.

This was a great place! The staff are kind, knowledgable, and most importantly, honest. The prices were also very very competitive; I got a 60,000 mile service here for my Elantra that was less than half as expensive as the dealer was going to charge me! I cannot recommend American Auto highly enough!!!

As a female, finding a good mechanic can be a long and painful process. I’ve used them for different services and have always had an amazing experience. They shoot me straight and go a fantastic job. Got my ac fixed from them and it was better than it ever had been afterwards! Highly recommend!!

We took my husband's truck to them when we were told it was the rack and pinion. They were fast and honest with us, all it was was the u joints. They saved us a ton of money, and got it done in 1 day. I will always recommend my friends go there.

Although it was a fairly minor repair they could have said it was something much larger. And they didn't just repair and park the vehicle. They drove it to make sure the repair was working. Impressed with their honesty and diligence.
