In my first year, I had a horrible experience. I mean, the environment is dull, the teacher's attitudes seem to be non-serious. My parents almost called the cops because my bus didn't take me home timely. The school itself gives me an icky feeling. I felt as if I learned nothing in the classrooms and my grades were either C's or D's. There was no motivation and I felt constantly intimidated. The school environment made me feel depressed for 7 straight months. As a girl, I felt unsafe in my own school. The bathrooms were unclean and kids were either involved in drugs or R-rated stuff. Since grade 10, I am a full-time e-learning student. My grades increased exceptionally. My advice for students who faced similar things, is to choose e-learning and not sacrifice their mental health.

When I came to this school in 2017, I thought it was terrible... I mean the facility was pretty bad: I am talking rest rooms constantly closed for vandalism, black sludge dripping into 70 cans sporadically throughout a hallway, and, of course, no AC. Chliche as it may be, what makes this school at all good is the staff: from our wonderful VPs to an amazing math department, the school is ripe with supportive, funny, passionate, and truly amazing people. I could be wrong but, I don't think schools usually have so many great people. I'd give it 1 star for the building quality. 5 stars for everything else. I am thoroughly happy with my high school experience here.

It’s been 2 years since my last review here. A lot has changed since then. It’s in the middle of COVID and most students do not have their masks up to their noses. The water isn’t drinkable, it doesn’t taste well either. The cafeteria food is atrocious. (The cafeteria is closed rn.) Some teachers are nice (like the ones I have rn.) the bathrooms are in terrible condition as well.

First-rate High School. The Alumni speak volumes about this school. It has an excellent history and tradition. Their students have gone on to do great things. This High School makes available to each student all the tools necessary to succeed in life and their sports facilities and teams are wonderful. The negative reviews are clearly written by disgruntled parents/students.

I do not recommend this school. Except some teachers most of them needs to refresh their knowledge, teaching skills and communication method. There is no motivation and encouragement as an academic environment. I had two appointments with counselor he did not show up and no following up after from his side to re-arrange or apology and I had to take time off from work.

Too many fire drills and false alarms for bombs, lock downs, gas leaks and FIRES! year 2017-18 there was more than 12 evacs, fires etc. The school is also pieced together, if you have a french class, then a business/tech/math class, be prepared to walk 1300 ft from one end to the other for 5+ mins

School is so outdated especially for a community like ancaster. They have had water leaks, the drinking water is unsafe, certain parts of the school smells bad. It is so sad to see our children in such a horrible environment.

I went to ahs for the day in the life thing. TELL ME WHY it smelled so bad, it smelled like concrete and pads. The skl is so ugly and the students looks like they would never survive in this world. Pls don’t make me go here…

Great school, awesome office staff, teachers that teach and care about their students progress and smaller class sizes. It's an older school with heart, strong academics and great sports teams.

My child is very happy to go to school here because the classes are very educational, and also very exciting and fun! Go here if tou want the best time of your life! …

Amazing staff that care a ton about the students, the school and the community. too bad the building is literally falling apart by the day.

This school is icky it has nasty smelling students with nasty smelling hair and they all have crabs I’ll eat them all
