So I come here more than often and always pleased with the food. However the most recent times including now, that I’ve sat at bar the bartenders have not been that pleasant as I’m an inconvenience to place an order and not worthy of sitting at the bar. Interesting enough if I was Justin or another regular that she (Jen) named and/or checked on very different but not giving the same energy with us unknowns. To top it off received food and placed card down prior to me being completely done. Not once did she come back to check on me or refill for beverage until I was completely finished and card siting for 10 minutes despite others around being taken care of with A1 service. Hope this does not continue to be the vibe as the last 3 experiences have very much given this which is very disappointing.

Came during Burger Week for their featured burger. It was supposed to have "melted cheese" inside, but there was barely any and the burger itself was a bit dry and bland. The tots were good tho. They had several different beers on draft at decent prices. Bar staff were super friendly and accommodating. They have boozy slushies and the bartender was nice enough to let me try both, but they were way too boozy for me after having two beers, so I passed. They were tasty though. A couple across the bar from me ordered the biggest moscow mule I've ever seen and I was intrigued, but the trivia had just started so I wasn't able to get the info on what it actually was and how much. Ended up playing trivia during my visit and had a fun night. Can't rec the burger I had, but like I said, the tots, service, and beers were good.

Response: I did not tell her she didn’t get a tip because it wasn’t free. She didn’t discount it, she didn’t offer a solution, she didn’t provide customer service. I told her i didnt like it and she was simply like "oh are you done." She didnt even address the overly sticky rice with the kitchen. 0 effort = 0 reward I paid the $14 for the piece of chicken. So no no tip because she didn’t advocate for her customer. Nice touch with a snarky remark on both a trash product and trash service. Original Post: I personally didn’t like my meal. The rice was very sticky. I ate the chicken which was good but the rest of the meal was really bad. Still had to pay for the meal with no ask of providing something different not even a side. Most expensive chicken breast ever.

We found them on Uber Eats by accident and ordered. Even though it took over 30 minutes to arrive, the food was SO good! We decided to drive up and eat there. Glad we did! AMAZING server, she was so sweet, on top of our drinks, food and she had the best attitude we've had in a while going out to eat! Everyone else that worked there was friendly, and stopped by to see how we were doing, too. They also allow dogs on the patio and have a doggy menu(absolutely adorable!!) We will for sure be visiting as another go-to place to eat! If you love a nice, fun, atmosphere where you don't have to worry about noise level of your kids, bring your dog, have great food and a drink (or not), this is it!!

This was our first time here and didn't realize you had to be 21 to get in. We had our 15yr old with us, they still let us in which was nice. They were a lot of drunk people having a great time lol I like the atmosphere of the place and the food is very good. Our only problem was there was a waitress(red head) that clearly only spoke to and helped the men. She had every table around myself, my wife and our son, but not us? She looked at us, smiled and then went over to the table of men that came in after us. Another waitress that was leaving went to her to let her know we were ready. The waitress that was leaving stayed just to help us because she was obviously told we weren't going to be helped by her! We will go back one day, we just better know who won't help.

I am a regular patron of Ales. I come with the family, I come with my co-workers. I come when I need a quality therapy session that I don’t have to pay $200 an hour for. I have had the privilege of getting to know all of the bartenders in my 4 years of being a patron there. The food is amazing! But when the “GM” approached my table the other day, my friends and I were left with that gasoline and sardine taste in a way I can’t get rid of you the way mouthwash and a hot shower can. I mean I scrubbed hard. But still the reek of his hot breath and and horrendous value for humanity gave me no choices but to leave with my friends. He was an absolute rude animal and I hope you never have to meet this person in your entire life. P.S. just some girls trying to have fun

Super disappointed that the menu (including specials and prices) online isn’t the menu that they give you in the restaurant. I came here for $1.50 tacos on a Tuesday; they don’t have that anymore. My friend came because we saw 10 wings for $9.95 online but it was like a dollar extra for like 8 wings or something of that sort. Either way, we were bamboozled. I ended up getting the pasta and it was AMAZING! It was like $8 for all of this pasta! I couldn’t believe it, this anywhere else could’ve easily been $13! I’m definitely going to be a regular here. Also, it helps that I see AppState posters and sports paraphernalia throughout the bar; I’m an alumni and this place makes me feel at home. A little Boone, NC in the middle of Charlotte! I love it!

What a gem! I noticed this place before but was turned off by the large crowds they usually harbor. I went on a slow Monday and I clearly see why they have such a large following. The food was amazing! The Jack Daniel's burger was insane. The burger had a flavor that was throughout the meat. Then the salty bacon, the sweet jd's BBQ sauce paired with a medium flavor cheese and a salty crispy onion ring gave me something I was not expecting...pure mouth joy. The semi floppy (requested) chips had this seasoning (salty, peppery sweet) that were amazing, too. Friend had the fish tacos which he could not stop raving about paired with sweet potato fries, which were also really good. I look forward to my next trip.

Delicious food, healthy options in addition to standard pub food. Highly recommend some of the veggie and protein bowl options! The atmosphere can get very loud, because this is a sports bar. The outdoor seating option is awesome, and they sometimes have live music They validate for the paytopark lot, but it is through an app.

So many better places than here. Went here for Sunday football and sat underneath the tv labeled for my team. Right when the game started they switch the tv and the label! I asked the manager and they said it’s “predetermined by the label”. Clearly I saw that and sat where I did bc it was labeled with my team but was just switched. Waitress gave me an attitude about it like it was my fault, but put it on another tv. Later on I ordered an espresso martini and received this half full drink. I asked where the rest of it was and was told that’s normal size. Ummm what? So many other places to spend your money at besides here.

Seems like a great little neighborhood sports pub. I don't eat animals and I was definitely able to find satisfying choices, which I 100% appreciate because a lot of times it can be a challenge. So hats off to the kitchen manager or whoever creates the menu - thank you!!! Food was really good! I don't live on this side of town but I will absolutely be back to enjoy again. And also, to all the staff who worked Thanksgiving, THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH!

A relaxing hang out after work. They recently remodeled and a welcome change. They created a large opening to the outside area, revamped the interior and restrooms. My crew mainly stays outside which is smoker and pet friendly. Not a large food and drink menu but we usually just get appetizers which are awesome. Suggest starting with the chicken nachos “the old way” with the chips covered in chicken and cheese and the accessories in the middle. Nice half price appetizers until 6pm (except wings). Nicole usually waits on us and is friendly and attentive. Parking can be tight but there is supplemental parking close.

Definitely used to be one of my favorite places in the area. I haven’t been in months because I’m pregnant. I went back today to order take out. I ordered the protein plate 1/2 chicken and 1/2 steak with some sprouts on the side. My meal came to 24.00 without tip. I got home and opened my food which included two small pieces of meat per skewer. Previously it was four a skewer and was in the 16 dollar range. Almost a ten dollar increase and 8 small pieces of meat over 16 large pieces. I will never come back. I called the manager to clarify and they said due to inflation, this is what they give now.

I ordered 8 wings and the Buffalo Chicken Dip. I asked for half Parm Half Buffalo. These were the wings when i got them and they gave me the Buffalo Sauce on the side. Instead of the waiter being honest and acknowledging that there was no sauce she just kept trying to make excuses for the lack there of. The ONLY reason i kept the wings was because I was hungry however i didn’t even finish them so the remainder will be going in the TRASH & this is my first and last encounter with this place! #TheGhetto.

They're menu is fairly long but they have almost too many good options. I never eat the same thing back to back there. The Mac n cheese is bomb and you can customize it. The meatloaf is bananas. But those Southwest Eggrolls? WORTH IT! People typically go because it's some of the best food on Montford, the patio is A-1, and there's always a decent crowd inside and out.

The Zucchini Chips are a MUST TRY!!!! My goodness those are delicious! They're fried items seem to be seasoned very well! The Philly didn't have much meat but was ok. The protein plate, while tasty and full of veggies, but was priced way to high to barely get any meat. Was disappointed! Wonderful staff and service! Small home town type of feel! It's a shame that they don't really care about if they mess up your takeout order. They acted as though it was more of an inconvenience that they didn't put cheese on it, or remove the onion. When they did bring it back they put american when my order said cheddar. I ask them to switch it out and you know what they do throw cheddar on top of the american cheese and didn't care. I'm in customer service and mistakes happen but a business not caring and being lazy isn't a place I want to spend my money at.

The food is great! And Kelsey’s the best bartender in Charlotte, she has such an inviting personality. The only thing that bothered me was this guy who seemed to just be hovering around and staring at everybody. He ended up coming over to our table to see how everything was and I could see the sweat stains on his clothes and smell him from my seat..he told me that he was the gm but I didn’t see him doing anything. I’ve been in Charlotte for years and decided to stop by angry angles for some drinks and appetizers with some girlfriends recently for the first time! We are so glad we did! Angry Ale’s is a good neighborhood find. We were greeted by Mark, perhaps the nicest doorman we’ve ever met and then there is Hannah, exceptionally charming but with a keen eye on service. I got the chicken sliders and they were good but you charged me 75 cents EACH for one honey mustard and one ranch. I feel like you should’ve told me before charging me for what I EXPECT free with a meal it’s the principle not the cost, I know your business does well so why are you doing that! Ugh. Won’t be returning also our waitress that’s short , has brown curly hair, took Litterally forever to bring a drink, food and good god waiting on the check when I was so ready to leave forever ago.

Been here a few times and it's a great venue. The service is hit or miss. I don't complain because the place is dog friendly, the food is good, and there's always a special that I like. It's great for friends, couples, it just bar flies. I highly recommend stopping by. Be careful about where your park. Follow the signs.

This is a great late night spot. The eclectic crowd seemed to all be having a good time. We ordered food to go and had a drink. The people that work there are so friendly. The guy at the door was nice and friendly. The bartender with the blonde hair makes awesome shots. She is quick too. Hannah went above and beyond to help us. She was obviously super busy. Everyone that worked there is busy. The team seemed to work well together. We will definitely be back.

We came in on a Friday night and they were still serving full menu until 1:30am. Both bartenders were very attentive. Even the bar-back was punctual-grabbing our plates and asking us if we needed anything. The food runner-forgive me for the misspelling “armandi??” Was phenomenal. Very kind and was a welcoming face. Very happy with our experience especially for a busy Friday night! Food came out fast as well so it seems the kitchen was on point. Will be back!

My first time trying this place. I ordered the Grandma Minnie's chicken salad which was really good! I also got the tender basket for someone which they liked as well. The order of queso is $2 but really small so I don't recommend that. Other than that can't wait to try more things here!! The other day I called because I didn’t see the fried Zucchini chips to order online, the guy that answered stated I should try another site to order like Uber eats or something . Cool patio area to catch a game and enjoy some drinks. Food was good for being ‘bar food’. Many more food and drink options than the typical wings, burgers, beers that most bars offer. I had the Mexican bowl; massive portion size which was awesome but could use a bit more flavor. Some of the staff certainly put the “angry” in Angry Ales though. Service was a bit slow and disorganized. Overall fun spot but service could be improved.

When looking for a dog-friendly restaurant while in Charlotte, we came across Angry Ale's. Simply put, it did not disappoint. Service was excellent, they had a dog menu for the pups, and the trailer park tacos were the best tacos with fried chicken that I've ever had. Great experience overall!

They are the worst set of ppl , I was here at 1 am trying to celebrate my friends birthday, and since my legs were hurting from the pencil heel shoes that I have been wearing for the last 2 hours (I had to finally take my shoes in my hands) , they said the Bar attender denied to provide service to us, as according to him I was super drunk only cos I had my shoes in my hand. Worst judgement ever.

Don't bother ordering online. I paid over $50 for barley a pound of very gross and neglected food. The delivery company was fast and efficient, but this place is simply washed up. They don't deserve to be in business and hopefully they won't be for much longer. Save your time and money.

Went today 4/23 for lunch. I’m an out of towner and just stumbled upon it. While the bar was busy, the girl behind it could have done a better job. I ordered chicken tenders with tater tots. Fries came with it. Didn’t even bother to say anything. She wasn’t very friendly either. The food was very very good though. Bartender needs a better attitude.

I ended up there just by chance I was close by and it was the only place to get something to eat that late at night that didn't come from a window. And it turned out to be really good food and the atmosphere was awesome and the staff and even other customers were friendly as I sat at the bar.

Great staff but very short handed; I waited 20 minutes after waving someone down, story of this new world, but this is not why of only the 2 stars. Chicken wings were super dry and the rest of the food was ok for drunk people. quality of food was not there at their price point. Sliders were better than everything else hence the second star.

came here for trivia night and we had a pretty large group, but all the food came out in a timeline manner and it all was tasty! our server Meredith was absolutely superb, our group was chaotic but she managed it so well; definitely will want to have her as our server again!!

2 stars instead of 1 ONLY because the waitress was really nice. However it took 45 minutes to get a single beer, and an hour for a dried out tiny patty burger and some lackluster tots. I would not recommend. The atmosphere isn’t bad though. I appreciate the dog friendliness.

This place is okay. Our whiskey sours were pretty decent but its really loud and the outside patio was confusingly put together. I would probably go again with a bigger group of friends but not the best dive for 2 people to enjoy eachothers company.

My group normally stops here on Sunday. There was 7 of us and we were at an empty table. 45 minutes of being ignored we left completely unserved. It’s a shame because the place across the street is terrible food but great service.

Refusing service to a fellow Veteran and his service animal is not only a bad business choice, it shows poor character. Besides, this place sucked before, during, and after I was a service member. Will not be returning.

If your looking for food after midnight this not the right place to visit, they say food is served till 2am but there kitchen is closed around 12am. If your visiting for drink & hangout then it’s good place.

The food was great and the 2 big security guys out front(TJ & Dre) made us feel very welcomed and safe. Thanks guys. Servers and managers need to smile a little more. But I will definitely be returning soon.

Tried this for the first time and it was delectable. Ordered take out today and meatloaf was dope. The Montfort burger was good and the chicken tenders were well seasoned. Definitely ordering from them again

My hamburger would have tasted better; if the meat would have been cooked medium. It was cooked well done. I got an egg on it. The egg was cooked over well. The yolk cooked hard. The fries was so delicious.

Pet friendly place to eat, cold and rainy.. had the outdoor section to ourselves. Waitress was very nice, turned heater's on when we asked. Food was average.

Glad the restrictions have been relaxed so we add some extra time. Fun place, drinks reasonable priced. Had live music outside. Would definitely go again...
