"The event, Pieces of Peace, was okay but in the essence, it was enlightening! On the other hand, the design and architecture of the gallery were exceptional!"
"It appears open in the map but a paper on the wall wrote it’s in installation"
Receptionist was very rude towards us and spoke condescendingly towards me and some other patrons and then proceeded to close the gallery 2 hours before the listed closing time to prevent more patrons from entering. They did not give a reason to us as to why they decided to close the free public exhibit nor did staff attempt to communicate verbally to a line of patrons waiting outside the venue that they could’ve been potentially at capacity, etc. We were rudely told to read off an A4 paper in small font regarding the gallery being ‘temporarily closed’.
We were here today at 3pm to visit the exhibition as today is the last day. However, the gallery closed at 3pm, which is 2 hours before the indicated trading hour without a proper reason. The staff was rude and useless, we asked why did not tell us the gallery is closed at 3pm, the staff said there is a sign on the front door. However the notice was written in a very small font… Very disappointed.
It's an interesting contemporary art gallery with plenty of local and other sources. Have to agree with the other people it's a cold atmosphere. You can go in anytime but it's not like NGV it's all for sale. Expect commercialisation.
The event, Pieces of Peace, was okay but in the essence, it was enlightening! On the other hand, the design and architecture of the gallery were exceptional!
It appears open in the map but a paper on the wall wrote it’s in installation. I came here for twice and each time it’s all closed. Really bad experience.
Exellent art work, but hard for out of town out of state painter to find espcially since I had not been to Melbourne - Victoria in 43 year's.
The only gallery where you can really find the best of contemporary art from Australia and all around the world
Lovely hosts. The current exhibition should please fans of Cy Twombly, Louise bourgeois and early lucien freud
Great paintings on the walls...the whole walk way is painted on both sides with amazing graffiti. Must visit.
Some exhibits are very intriguing. Worth a look if you're nearby, and it's free!
Worth passing by this private contemporary gallery if you are in Melbourne.
