Checked this location out last night. Really wasn’t a great experience. The website mentioned nothing about lockers, but they had some. Only you have to bring your own lock. An update on the website could be in store for this location, as nothing is really specified on what it actually has or doesn’t have. Everything was cramped and close together. No real space to do your own thing, especially the free weight area. All the treadmills are side by side and you get no actual distance from people (not a covid complaint, as no restrictions are in place, just doesn’t make sense to be so close to people you don’t know). Also, the rags on the treadmills have been there the entire day. There are no clean cleaning options at this location, so no choice but to use the same gross rag everyone else has used. The bathrooms weren’t clean either, not to mention the fan was caked in dust and not functioning. There was no hook to hang a towel or jacket in there (at least the bathroom/change room I used) and the only place to sit and put your socks on for example was the probably-not-cleaned shower roller seat (which is strange to have…). Won’t be back.

The management of this club will not answer your calls. You can leave voice-mails and they will not answer. Once they have your money, they will not help you with issues. Save yourself the hassle and go with Goodlife. UPDATE- The owner of this club has since contacted me and offered to refund the money that they shouldn't have charged me in the first place, the catch was that he would only refund me if I left a misleading 5 star review. Which I considered, but was not comfortable doing. I proposed that I try the club on a trial basis and if I had a positive experience then I would leave a positive review- I have not heard back. On top of this. My friend who also uses this gym had an issue that the management would only remedy after he gave a 5 star review. BUYER BEWARE they buy positive reviews at this gym.

I like this gym it’s got a good layout, though there’s some pieces of equipment that other gyms have that they don’t have.. if you’re not deterred by this then you can make it work. It’s all very clean in there and I’ve found the staff to be helpful. One downside I’m noticing is that there only needs to be about 8-10 people in there before it’s way too crowded to have an effective workout. Even if you go at 10pm on a Friday thinking it might be less busy it isn’t and once there’s even a few people in the free weight section it’s basically too crowded. I’m not sure how this could be fixed because I understand as a business wanting to sign up as many members as you can but it feels like there’s too many for the size of the gym. But that’s just me and my own personal preferences!

Very negative experience with anytime fitness. In March I had attempted to freeze my gym membership multiple times and had no response to my messages and phone calls. Fast forward to October and I found out my account had been suspended and the remaining 7 months of my contract was sent to a collection agency before I even knew my account was suspended. Long story short after many calls with the collection agency and the owner, the owner said he would take care of it. The owner didn't do anything and my credit score was negatively affected. Very unreliable management, doesn’t hold his word and screens calls so he doesn’t have to talk to you. Wouldn’t recommend the gym as they have bad policies and they don’t care about their customers they are just out to get your money.

First off, I pretty much never give anything a 5 star review. Anytime Fitness Allendale deserves no less. I've tried a couple other gyms and was very disappointed with my experiences. Anytime Fitness takes it to a whole different level. Community based gyms. Smaller and more personal. Still very well equipped, but tailored to your community. I feel like I have found my "home" for fitness. And a big shout-out to Grey, one of the main staff members at this location. Always a pleasure to deal with. Knowledgeable, professional and always a great attitude. Thank you, Grey. Keep up the fantastic work!

Not a great experience. The gym itself was alright, nothing to write home about. After they unfroze the payments after the lockdown I was billed the entire contract amount in 3 days. $60 the first day, $70 the second and $80 the third. Couldn't get a hold of anyone at the gym and they don't have regular staffed hours. Sent a notice of cancellation and they still took money out of my account outside of the days they said they would and it was for more money then I agreed on. Had to get my bank to do a stop payment and now there's a mark on my credit report. Wouldn't recommend this gym at all

Avoid this gym as a home gym for anytime fitness. This location was great to use for 2+ years however is now under new unprofessional management. It took over 3 months of hounding and no help from the owner for weeks at a time to get a refund on a canceled year membership (before covid-19). The only reason he finally refunded was i managed to get a hold of parent company of anytime fitness and complained. This was after i had went 4 weeks without a response to multiple messages. I am lucky I did not urgently need the large sum of money i was owed like some people potentially would.

I have been a member with Anytime Fitness for a number of years and over that time have gone to various locations. Out of all the locations I’ve been to, the manager at this one, Marcus, has been the nicest and most helpful. He always made sure to treat us whenever we came in, regardless of what he was doing, and always by name and would often chat with us to see how we were doing. We specifically drove to this location even though there were others closer to our place because we liked the layout of this one better and Marcus always made us feel welcomed.

Avoid this gym!! I once loved this gym but the management/owner is not responsive and has not refunded me owed money (seems to be a common problem based on recent reviews). I was charged hundreds of dollars with no notification. After spending weeks determining the cause of this, the owner admitted this was a mistake and partially refunded me my money and said he would send the remaining balance several times. I have yet to receive the money..it has been months. - Updated January 2021

I had the worse experience with the management of Anytime Fitness specially at the time when I was moving out from that location and wanted to discontinue the services. I wrote several emails to them but they never provided me the receipts of the services that I availed from them. My husband and mine membership types were similar but no one explained me the wide difference in the deductions that were made from our respective credit cards. I felt very disappointed and helpless.

My favorite anytime fitness location in edmonton city because its by far the least crowded location. Considering anytime fitness are small sized gyms, it can be a real struggle if the gym is crowded. Worked out here for over a year. The new management is absolutely wonderful to deal with. Super super friendly. Bathrooms are clean and so is the equipment. Has all the basics stuff you need.

Hidden fee alert. Virtue signalling green company . So paid these guys for a year then went to return the key fob for deposit back. I guess it’s actually a hidden fee. Company states key fobs are not refundable. They would rather have everyone who is done with their membership throw out the key fob so They can make an extra 25 dollars. Don’t support this sketchy business

I really enjoyed this gym. Clean facilities with a great variety of equipment. The washroom/bathrooms were always clean and towels were always stocked. I’m moving out of the region and my new neighbourhood doesn’t have an Anytime Fitness Gym otherwise I would have continued my membership but it does not. Overall for anyone in the region I would highly recommend.

The staff at Allendale are incredibly kind and friendly. Marcus, the manager, takes the time to know your name, and will always say hi when you arrive. The gym and washrooms are always clean and tidy. This is my favorite location and I encourage anyone who is looking to sign up for a membership or is looking for a different gym to consider Allendale.

The gym itself is alright. The manager however was extremely unprofessional. Started by asking a simple question and before I could finish she had interrupted me with 2 questions. Which had she let me finish she would have realized were unrelated. Maybe it was just a bad day for her but. Really bad customer service.

Great facilities, I often drop in here, they have towels and clean bathrooms. Updated Review: I've visited several times, noticed staff made adjustments to help with knowledge for clients who are using the facilities. Still a give star, I recently noticed this Anytime Fitness, has a studio, that's a big bonus

Quiet and comfortable community gym that caters to those who want a gym experience without the negative stigma associated with some of the bigger gyms. They have just what you need to work out and offer some amenities of the larger gyms at half the cost. Great place to go seeing as it's usually not packed!

This place is always clean considering how many people come and go here! Love the helpful and supportive staff. They always seem to be finding ways to maintain/update their equipment on a regular basis too which is very admirable. As a current member of AFA, this was a great first choice for me!

This gym is so welcoming, Marcus is incredible Manager, he somehow remembers every members name and is always and friendly. If you are intimidated by the gym and afraid of the weight of other peoples judgement. I highly recommend this location. Great environment and staff.

Really like this gym! It's hard not to compare to the Old Strathcona location, but they are both pretty good. Complete with pretty much everything you need, it's hard to complain. At the same time, there lacks hygiene products in the washrooms, a T bar and deadlift pad.

I have recently signed up at this gym and love the vibe. Everything is clean and well equipped. I'm a fan of the 24hr set-up as someone who likes to keep odd hours. Grey was super helpful and enthusiastic. I definitely made the right choice for my new gym.

The space is always clean and everyone is respectful of that. It’s easy to find quiet hours but when it’s busy everyone is super friendly and it’s not uncomfortable. I’ve tried other AF locations in the city and this is my favourite still.

This AF location has all the basics, but the price you pay can get you a lot more with a much better atmosphere. The equipment is limited, but many people here are general fitness-goers that will just bounce from machine to machine.

Great gym! They have recently gotten a new gym manager and my experience at the gym has improved immensely. Marcus and the staff do an incredible job maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the space.

One of my favourite AF locations I've been to. Staff are great, gym is clean, equipment is well maintained and a good selection across a big gym space. Location usually isn't too busy which is nice!

Great space, always friendly staff. The manager Marcus always greets you when you walk in. They offer towel service which is awesome in case you forget to pack your own.

Convenient, clean, plenty of equipments and a chill AF location. Great management and operations, s/o to marcus for a very welcoming experience.

Probably one of the nicer AF locations I've been to. Well cared for, great equipment, and not too busy most of the day. Great facility overall!

Marcus is the best. I will be going back to this location. Very clean and all machines work well.
