This is my anytime fitness story. Not the positive one for sure. I have been going to anytime fitness Ellerslie, Edmonton, Alberta for almost a year and seeing the health benefits for doing regular workout, I have asked my wife to join the club. We have been going for nearly three months when one day my wife swiped her access card, and I was holding the door for her and forgot to swipe my access card, and Anytime fitness charged my wife $250 when we saw the charges and asked about it, they said because she let someone in. We told them we both are members, and we always go together and ask for the security footage. They have sent security footage for some random people, and we told that’s not us, and these guys have started questioning me who are they, I told them you have to say to me who are they, I can’t. He started saying this is not India. I have to tell him that I am Canadian and this guy whoever he was, who thought he is more Canadian than me, just because his ancestors arrived before me to this land. I guess he hasn’t learned the history and how immigration happened. Finally, he found the security footage, and we confirmed that it was us, and it clearly showed that I was holding the door for my wife. They have refused to refund the money, and their owners at the prism group decided to pocket the money because they think they it's their right. I have complained to Anytime fitness headquarters about the racist employee of Anytime fitness, but they have decided not to do anything or try to resolve the issue. However, they have shared the feedback with Ellerslie Anytime fitness, and my wife received a text message saying because I have complained to Anytime fitness, the owner has decided not to give a refund. These guys are using BLACKMAIL tactics with the customer so that they can get their customer as a hostage for $250. It clearly shows the sickening culture of Anytime fitness and its club. In addition to it, AnyFitnessClub has canceled me and my wife’s membership and charged me an additional 83 dollars and to her $380; my wife or I have not given any authorization of cancellation of my membership. If anytime fitness has withdrawn the club membership, I expect Anytimefitness to pay me cancellation amount and additional compensation for causing unnecessary hassle for me. I have checked my account that they have however did not charge me above mention $380 and $83. I had done my due diligence bringing the issue to Anytime’s notice and all I received threats from this employee. I don’t have the voice recording of our conversation, but I do have all the text messages that my wife have been receiving. My recommendation is NOT to join this club where their owner is a CON artist that hires RACIST employees, and YOU have to responsible for not letting one in or else you have to pay the money. You better be ready for a fight first with the person who is tailing you and then with this racist person and his owner.

If you are considering a position at this facility, please read below. I do not recommend working for them, as the owner has very little organizational skills and will blame it on you. I was hired as a yoga instructor by this facility over the summer. I was told by the owner I would be paid by cheque within 7-10 days of submitting each invoice. I submitted my first invoice and 2 weeks went by as I waited patiently to be paid. After 2 weeks I sent the owner an email asking about the status of my cheque. I get that mistakes can be made when hiring new employees or freelancers, so I figured they just forgot. The owner never replied to me, so I asked the trainer who hired me to inquire. I was finally sent an e-transfer with no apology for the tardiness. The next week I saw the owner in person so I confirmed I would be paid regularly and he said yes, he would now be sending me e-transfers instead of cheques. I submitted my next invoice and a month went by without pay. Throughout this month I sent multiple emails to the account he had told me I could contact him through. One of his employees told me he always answered his phone and gave he his number, so then I tried phoning him but got no response. I left a voicemail and did not receive a response. Four days after the voicemail, I contacted the trainer again and asked her to find out what was happening. She told me she would get him to call me. The owner finally called me after the trainer told him he needed to. I was expecting at least a simple apology as I think anybody would agree that going a month without pay AND no explanation is ridiculous. Instead, the owner immediately started to berate me for being "disrespectful" because I wanted to know when I would get paid. He told me I should not have been discussing this issue with any of the employees. That trainer, however, had told me to contact her directly if I had any issues with payment so I was simply following the instructions she had given me. He told me I should have called him more often to get a response from him and he was now returning my voicemail, so he didn't understand why I was upset. BUT I know the only reason he was actually returning my voicemail was because the trainer had asked him to. He then told me I was "sensitive" for asking about my pay. I am writing this to warn any other freelancers who are considering work at this facility. I think any regular person would agree with me that it is completely unacceptable to neglect to pay someone, refuse to answer communications, and then tell the employee/freelancer that they are ones being "disrespectful".

I tried to call and no body answered and finally a lady pulled up in the parking lot and opened the door so I followed her in thinking that she worked there. As I went inside the Managers office door was open so I tried to call again and still no answer so I decided to wait in the sitting area for almost 10 minutes. Finally a man walked in, He looked at me and kept walking. I seen him walk into the Managers office so i walked up, smiled and said "Hello, I'd like to sign up for the free trial" He didn't start with a Hello or Welcome, Not even a smile, Instantly he said "How did you get in here?!" I told him I walked in with a lady (I wasn't aware that I wasn't allowed to walk in apparently) He was confrontational and annoyed and said that he was out getting himself a coffee and I told him that i wasn't about to stand in the cold and he said that in the past customers have let other people in and their not supposed to. I mean even so, I didn't walk in and start using the equipment, I was waiting in the sitting area, Being new I wasn't aware of any of this. I just said that I didn't know, and he just repeated himself and said "well I was out getting coffee" There was nothing friendly about the way he spoke to me, Without evening looking at me he just handed me a clip board and a pen and told me to fill it out. I was so tempted to walk out as I've never been disrespected like that at a gym, But I had already walked over and figured I may as well get some quick cardio in. But I didn't even do a full work out as I did not feel welcome at all. As someone who has worked in a very successful leisure corporation and gym I know that this is unacceptable behaviour and I will not be taking my business here The complete lack of simple respect and customer service is astounding! Which is a shame because it is so close to where I live and for a small gym, The equipment is decent.

I have to admit that the owner (Al or Ali I believe) is the most arrogant and disrespectful person I've dealt with. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the facilities. The gym is functional, spacious and clean. But what takes all the stars away is the absolute apathetic nature of the management (which is the owner because as I understand he doesn't let anybody else make any decisions). There are two instances I would like to quote: 1. I cancelled my wife's subscription. As per policy, the gym would deduct next month’s fee. I paid this amount upfront, but the owner would not admit he received payment. Even though I offered to show him my bank statement. Finally it was identified that his gym software failed to show this payment. However, the owner was too proud to admit his software's mistake and kept on REPEATING that "I waived off the outstanding amount on your wife's account". 2. My brother (a member) went out of the gym to get stuff from his car (at 2 am, freezing temperature). However, mistakenly he left his key fob, mobile, and wallet inside the gym. Luckily for him there was another member working out at the time who granted him access. However, without notification OR clarification OR detailed investigation, he was charged $250 for tailgating. Please note that even their agreement doesn't clearly mention when OR how the person should be charged for tailgating. Right now, it’s been 18 days following up with the owner (to get the money back), who never picks up the call, seldom replies over text / emails. When he does respond, his responses are unassurring and never with an SLA for resolution. Their official SLA for security dispute resolution is 3-5 business days which has since passed. I would recommend that if anybody has any such outstanding dispute with the Gym / owner, please instead contact the Anytime Fitness Corporate Headoffice directly (you can obtain their contact details from other Anytime fitness gym not under Ali's ownership). I believe, the only reason most of the people have given this gym 4-5 stars is probably because they never had to interact with the owner.

They have a policy that if someone follows you into the facility that they will issue 250 dollar fine. I thought that perhaps I was not mindful and let someone in until I saw the footage, screenshots of basically me leaving the facility through a normal exit. The footage did not show someone gaining entry to the facility. The owner alleges that I left the facility using an emergency exit (picture show that the door is not marked as such). And secondly, there is nothing in the signed agreement that indicates that Anytime Fitness can charge me $250 for leaving out of an emergency exit. I have also provided screenshots of the email communication I had with the franchise owner of this facility. So, to the reader, I left out of an apparent emergency exit (one without proper markings or alarm attached). There are no conditions within the signed agreement that state that charges would be incurred for such an action. None-the-less, Anytime Fitness prematurely expired my account (approximately 6 months before due) in order to apply the 250 dollar charge. Heartbreaking for me since I got to know people from this gym over the past few years as a consistent paying renewal customer. But because of this, I certainly would not renew. I did some research and have noticed that this same type of penalty has been applied to other customers as well. Feel free to message me for further details on this issue. I shall be spreading the word on social media as it would be a shame for someone else to fall victim to this type of scam.

I started personal training with Ashley since Jan 2023. I've always tried to manage workouts at home or personally at the gym but I never really knew what to do and would spend majority of my time looking up workouts than actually doing them. So when I came across Ashley, she really helped me how to effectively work towards my fitness goals. From creating a nutrition plan to challenging me, I grew and achieved part of my fitness goal. My goal was to not only feel strong but be strong and she helped me do that. I was doing 70lbs on a dumbell press and dead lifting 120lbs too! I truly never thought my body could do that, but I'm so glad it can. I definitely gained some solid muscle definition too! Now I'm working on more definition and toning accompanied with strength, and I know that comes with time but I'm grateful she's helped me continue on my fitness journey in this way. She's been so professional, caring, encouraging while really pushing me all at the same time. She always gets back to me pretty quickly and reminds me not to be too hard on myself, which has helped me in even wanting to go to the gym on the days I don't feel like it. I'm looking forward to continue reaching my fitness goals with Ashley! Thank you so much for investing so much time and energy into me and I look forward to continue working you!!

I originally left a poor review here due to the lack of areas to complete the main compound lifts. The owner addressed my review by adding an additional bench press - which is great. He also asked me to update my review. I still don't have a glowing review for this place. As soon as the new bench was brought over, one if the lat pull downs was taken away as well as one of the chest fly machines (gym now has one of each). The layout of the gym was overhauled again for what feels like the 4th time in less than a year. And again (this also happened maybe 2 layouts ago), one of the squat racks was placed right next to a window/wall and the bar cannot be comfortably loaded/unloaded. They really need to find a layout that works but it seems like equipment is just rotated in and out amongst the other gyms to address complaints, and each time a piece is moved, the layout is changed (this gym had a deadlift platform last year that got moved to another gym, which seems to have been the start of these constant changes). Overall, this gym feels too small for the amount of people using it. It feels cramped and stressful to be in it a lot of the time. But at least the owner tries, it's 24 hours, and it has the essentials.

My husband and I scheduled a tour of the gym and came in on March 12, 2023 at 2:00 pm. We went to the office and had a fellow (didn't catch his name) take us around the gym. The tour took all of 1 minute pointing out what some of the equipment was (which we already knew). We ended up in the class room where I asked him what type of classes the gym offers. He didn't know - all he said was a HIT class. He took as back to the office to discuss membership options. The fellow pulled out a binder and showed us 2 options... 12 months or 24 months. I asked him about getting a free pass for a few workouts to see if my husband and I like the gym and commit to 2 memberships. He said they don't do free passes BUT if we put a deposit on memberships only today, we could get a pass and that we could terminate it before the 10 days are up. And that was our complete 5 minute tour. Not a great experience at all. Felt like he was only interested in getting our money, and then we left. To be honest, he doesn't come across as someone very knowledgeable about this gym and showed no excitement about us joining at all. We left feeling very disappointed as this is in our neighborhood and would have been convenient for both of us.

Was there for 8 months, purchased a 8 month pass with a contract and was told that the key pass to get into the gym was a $55 REFUNDABLE fee. 8 months go by and when I stop to refund my Key fob I'm told that they no longer refund them and that the promotion (which was a school year promotion) is no longer offered anymore. I don't get why I'm told when I purchase something that is REFUNDABLE and then am not refunded when I go to return it. I tried talking to the staff and owner and not only did t take forever to get in contact, but he simply stopped replying. I'm a student and try to save money wherever I can and this honestly left me very disappointed and feeling scammed. As for the actual gym, it's got what you need to workout. During busy hours you will have to wait quite a bit, but that was barely a problem for me as I usually went at quiet hours. If you live right beside the gym then I would recommend it due to convenience - but if you're willing to travel a tiny bit further I would highly recommend GoodLife or Snapfitness instead. Hope this was helpful. ***Note - New owner in May 2019 called to solve any issues.

I cant say enough great things for the owner Ali and Rob the Manager and also Katie! shes freaking amazing.. So I had some issues a while back with a previous employee who was to say not the greatest person to showcase the actual value for this gym.. I have to say when i got a call from Rob explaining what happened and their willingness to get me to come even offering some services of the gym for the month.. I was happy they reached out! The fact that they put so much effort to see how I was doing over the last two weeks since I signed up has been amazing. I even got to speak with Ali who is the owner and needless to say has been very assuring and welcoming for m, checking to see if the services of the gym has been up to par! well it has.. I enjoy this gym very much and I am glad I gave them a chance to show who they are.. caring and kind and always ensuring that their customers are well taken care of! If you have had experiences they are willing to listen.. unlike most gyms they actually listen to your concerns! Anytime Fitness is Summerside Is my absolute favorite Gym now! Cant wait to go there today again :)

Very bad customer service tonight! I politley ask why there isnt an out of order sighn on the one treadmill as you guys are limited on space and cardio equipment I was looking out for others as well as your company! I get from the young guy that came out of thr office this is my time! You dont pay me! Its not hazardous to anyone! Wow 3 weeks in and I best be getting a good explanation for this! Its our time our money that pays your bills! Remember that when it takes 2 seconds to put a sighn up in respect to our time! And to get A call today saying I owe $500 cause I didn't cancel. Wow I'm not paying you 1cent! I haven't been back since the episode and was told I didn't have to sighn anything to quit that they understand why I haven't went back... And for the manager to tell me it was ok for how the guy from the supplement store treated me cause he was off shift. Wow. 0 customer service. And to cancel and not use your facility for A year but you want to charge me and put me in collections. Wow... Ignorant. That's like theft... you won't get 10 cents from me...

Every time I walk into AF Summerside , I get this rush.. it’s a rush of knowing that I’m going to go in and not only hear those words of encouragement but actually feel it surrounding me from the staff! It’s the best rush I have ever felt! The warmth, energy and vibe that the staff hugs each member with is indescribable! It makes me show up even on those tired/ off days and pushes me to strive for more. I’ve been able to change my routine , strengthen my stamina/core and increase my weight training in all the right ways by having Saddie and the gang just knowledge me with their energy! Thank you Saddie for not letting me quit when I wanted to, or go easy when I was tired. You believed in me more than I believed in myself. & Now I believe. And there is nothing that beats that feeling! I owe that to you! Thank you. Huge shoutout for keeping the gym always tidy and Sanitized and constantly having clean towels for us! I will always recommend this gym to all my family and friends far or near. Thank you from every member and myself! -P <3

Do not sign up to this gym! First of all it is such a headache to even go tanning which at first seemed like it would be nice and easy (one stop shop) you need a code to even get into the room so you call this number they provide, no one answers and calls you back a hour later. And then trying to cancel- wow huge song and dance! You go there they tell you to call a number then the ppl that are answering the phone out of another country tell you they can’t cancel it over the phone and you have to pay for another month and can only cancel if you write a registered letter or a email. This is a huge scam and my account with them is based on month to month- which you think would be easier then signing a agreement- nope huge headache. Lazy staff that are never there and awful customer service- save yourself the headache and go to a real gym. Anytime fitness should be called anytime headache. And no I am not a member anymore, thankfully and finally got that figured out- that was a huge headache!

Great Friendly and helpful staff, clean and well kept. Good equipment. My one problem with this place and it’s driving me crazy is the leg area. When people are doing deadlifts they bang the plates on the floor loudly and I mean really loudly. It is a sharp piercing sound and it fills the entire room. I am not the only person either that has had that reaction as I look around. They seriously need to Invest in a mat that will buffer the sound or special plates that will Reduce the sound. It seriously does not make my experience there a good one when all that is heard over the music is a very loud Headache causing stressing clang clang clang. Update: After the previous 3 star review, I received a call immediately from one of the owners questioning how we can resolve this issue. A few days later the issue was resolved. Very professional and attentive. I am thoroughly satisfied. Thank you anytime fitness Summerside. 5 stars now.

Worst gym in edmonton and worst staff working inside. Be aware of these smart dudes. They can put you in contract without your consent. I was told that contract was for one year only and suddenly after one year my key fob stopped working and i asked the reason and guy said oh we just need to renew your keyfob and he put me in another contract for year. Now i wants to cancel my membership for whatever reason, they are asking me to pay for remaining period of my contract. They said you signed it… okay i signed it but the guy said we need your sign again to renew your fob. He didnt mention that i’m putting you in another contract. I never complain but this gym is not worthy even when you have so many options with same price. Very small gym and average downtime in their gym for any machine is 20-25 days. I will never recommend this to anyone. Same price and better gym in city. Kindly do proper search before making decision.

Great gym! Have been coming here regularly since March 2018, good atmosphere and its rarely crowded. Decent selection of well maintained machines, with a carpeted area for body weight exercises and separate room for the weekend yoga classes/stretching area. Even have a heavy bag in there if you want to get some aggression out, haha. The only issue I ever really have is some people who use that place have terrible hygiene and also don't clean up after themselves or put their weights away after use. Fortunately there's plenty of cleaning solution bottles with rags around so I just clean equipment thoroughly before and after use... I suggest you do too! (Staph infection is nasty!) All in all, very minor gripes for a place that is open 24/7 at a more that reasonable price. If you live in the area and are looking for a good gym, this is a no brainer!

So, it's been over 2 weeks again, since the music has been off in the gym. I keep giving the staff the benefit of the doubt that they just forgot, but it's been too long, so I think it's just negligence. Why does this keep happening? I've noticed that since it's been so quiet, there haven't been as many people coming at the time that I'm there in the early mornings. Although this is nice for me as far as using the equipment, I'm still not happy that the music isn't playing. I don't bring my own as I find bringing my cellphone into the gym a huge distraction and headphones/earbuds get in my way of my workouts. Please fix this and don't let it get "broken" again! I have moved a bit further away and have noticed that there are other gyms closer to me, so if this isn't fixed permanently, I will be going to one of those instead.

Tried to get my son signed up for the 7 day trial and originally looked at Old Strathcona and Ashley was great and friendly and was ready to set us up even thought my son was only 16 , we are looking for a gym he can use for Spring and Summer training as he is playing high level hockey. All I had to do was sign a waiver. Thought perfect! Then noticed we had a gym about 4 minutes from our house in Ellerslie so went in looking for the same warm welcome but that was not what we got. I got the cold shoulder and that we are an 18 yr old club only but he can take the 7 day trial but that would be it. Hmmmm and offered to have the owner call me today - No call! And my son found out his friend goes to this gym and is not 18! Not impressed .. wish we lived closer to Old Strathcona ! Great customer service at that location

I quite like this gym, it's pretty small but even during the busy hours I don't find it too terrible. I love having the option of the Evolt scan and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The only downsides are that the sanitizing bottles are almost always empty, there's limited bathrooms and lockers. The bathrooms typically isn't an issue. But the lockers, there's only so many lockers big enough to put a gym bag in, and half of them are always being taken up by someone who puts one jacket or one hoodie or even just a set of keys. It's frustrating when you can't store your gym bag because of people wasting a larger locker. Members should be discouraged from unnecessarily using the biggest lockers when there's twice as many smaller lockers. The showers consistently won't put out hot/warm water.

The facilities are very clean and organized. The staff is very helpful and encouraging. I was especially happy with my trainer, Ashley. I was an older client waiting for hip surgery. Ashley worked very hard to make sure I had my own specialized program that met my needs. She was always very reliable and on time. In addition, her encouragement and positive energy always made working out fun. I always looked forward to my workout days. The app she uses is also very good for working out on your own. The app tracks your progress and is very easy to navigate. Ashley also lots of relevant nutrition advice as well and an app to track your protein intake, fat, calories etc.. I would highly recommend Ashley and Anytime Fitness for anyone wishing to start training to improve their health and fitness level.

One of the busiest ATFs in Edmonton and the only club between 45th Ave SW and 28th Ave NW, they still manage to keep it very clean; recently renovated; with nary a line up to get on a cardio machines even at peak hours. In this busy plaza there are four restaurants and a 24h 7-11 gas station for those who work out better caffeinated. For 'higher octane fuel' supplement store right next door was just sold, fully renovated and reopened. I met the Mountain (from Game of Thrones) there the last Saturday before, so it must be good, right?! The best is world class Chef Karan Sarna's, tiny 'Chili Pepper' restaurant serving a fusion of East Indian, Hakka/ Chinese and Western food. All of it is made fresh in store and highly nutritious. Chef Karan likes his customers and their veggies!

Love to be able to give this gym a ZERO star. My husband and I have been trying to get into contact with this gym to no avail. We needed to cancel our memberships now that the contract is over. And because we can't EVER reach anyone, we've had extra payments coming out of our account. To add to this, we have asked numerous times for our account numbers to update our banking info and never received any responses. This gym is absolutely disgusting to use. Equipment is gross, washrooms are disgusting. Body hair and who knows what laying around everywhere. Very very unsanitary. Staff hours are ridiculous, there is never anyone around to help out, and never address concerns in their "comment box". One of the worst gyms I have ever been apart of! NEVER AGAIN!

Great gym, however be prepared to go through nightmare if you need to stop or cancel your membership. I'm pregnant and could not use the facility since August 2020. Tried to cancel/stop my membership by phone, in person, through email. My keyfob was taken away and I was promised in person that it will be canceled which never happened (twice). I went twice to the gym to talk to someone. The only way to get some answers turned out to be through email to customer service ( I found out 2 months later), and even then its at least 30 days notice with medical note, which is ok if i was told about it sooner. So I have lost 3 months payments for not being able to use and enter the facility for a valuable reason. Something to consider when you choose your gym.

The manager of this gym stalks & harasses others on different forms of social media platforms, commenting and attacking peoples body imagine publicly because they do no fit her “standard” of what a body should look like. As someone who is supposed to be an advocate for health & mental wellness, this is alarming behaviour. The comments that she shamelessly posts are derogatory & unwarranted. I would strongly advise anyone considering joining anytime fitness summer side to reconsider given this is not a judgment free space, this is not a space where you can go to better yourself without the judgment of the employees, as Sadie Fullam publicly commented on my social media “ Planet fitness” may be a better pace for those starting their gym journey.

I recently lost my job and I am financially struggling because of COVID-19. I am still on a yearly contract which is not very good for me as I am struggling to make end meet. I contacted the gym if they can just cancel it for once and not charge me but they just offered to freeze it for a bit. I really don't want to be attached to any contracts right now as I already am in a hefty debt and wanted that if the Gym employees can do something for my situation to cancel it. I was given a second option to pay the full remaining fee in order to be free of the contract. It is right on their part but the situations are bad in this economy and people need to understand what the community is going through.

Update : The Smith machine has been restored .. and it was unavailable as it was being serviced .. the gym representatives made sure they called me and gave me the update ! Impressed by the immediate response! keep it up ! So im updating my rating !! Returned to the gym after the reopening... they sent emails saying how they were upgrading equipments.. but to my shock they have removed the Smith machine from the ellerselie branch ... im very disappointed with that decision.. it could be better if you brought back the Smith machine in the gym .. other than that all safety and social distancing norms are maintained well .. kindly consider reinstating the Smith machine..

Not going to lie, this gym used to suck. However they have 180° there business. The new equipment additions, the little things they've put around the gym to fill the walls and make it feel alive, like a clock, finally. Thank you for getting a boxingg bag!!! The only thing that held me back from 5 stars is their sanitzing set up, I wish they'd switch to the same system as the YMCA and other competitors. The old dirty yellow cloth and bottle system is out dated, pus I don't feel the staff refills or changes the cloths out enough. The weight racks are also always disorganized. Nonee the less, I recommend it now. Keep up the positive progression management

Equipments are not well spaced, old and basic. Environment is not clean or maintained. Piss stains on and around the toilet, puddle of water on the toilet. Always out of cloth or sprays. A bunch of shoes in the tray even when no one is working out and no space for yours. Hard to determine who to seek assistance with, as there are so many people hanging around the manager's office in gym clothes or sometimes, in inappropriate clothing for someone in administration. Poor representation of the brand and management of facility considering the hours and number of staff.

I joined this gym due to its proximity from my house. My membership was cancelled without warning after 6 months due to complaints from certain members about my personal hygiene. See the problem is i worked out with the same group of people for the same time period and no one, not even the staff members approached me about the issue. Just got a call out of the blue one day saying my membership is cancelled. Please beware your membership can be cancelled if certain members don't like you. I will be seeking litigation for my membership cancellation

Terrible experience with Allen, on the phone call. I made a phone call for cancelling my membership after having few conversations before already about the issue. Allen returned the call saying, “get to the point” , “I don’t want your membership.” “Apparently you do not like to text.” Well Mr. Allen when someone pays for your service they deserve to get in contact when needed help without being disrespected. The manager Rick was amazing though, really knows how to deal with customers and be respectful. Thank you Rick for all the assistance.

Joined this gym when it first opened, 2017 I think. Left for a few years and just joined up again. Place has gone downhill since it opened. No more tanning, machines/stations frequently tied up for 20+ minutes mostly due to people posing for pics and selfies, bathrooms are not the cleanest to say the least. If you have a strict workout plan you like to follow well good luck doing it here. Staff seem indifferent and select who they like to chat with. Regret signing a two year contract. Going back to planet fitness in south common.

Not a great gym. Very unfortunate. Was told my contract would end in a year. I tried to cancel it before was told to pay even more than the remaining balance to close it. After the one year. I was charged for months and tried to get in contact but no one would respond. The staff was so rude and ignored any questions I had. After months trying to contact again. They told me I still had to pay for the remaining month even though I was never told my contract renewed. Horrible horrible customer service. Please find a better gym.

Wish there was 0 star option. Rep who I talked on phone was super rude. Gave false information and lacked customer service. Worst location to deal with if you have any issues. And if you complain and tell then what they did, get ready to be yelled at. They wont solve the problem and instead tell you that they dont need members like you and hangup. And 2 mins later you receive text of cancelled membership. So if you are on contract get ready to pay extra bcz they can just cancel over the phone istead of solving.

Well I’d love to rate them higher but I got a tour, mentioned I’d be back to get a membership started once I was home from an out of town trip... 3 weeks and all I’ve gotten are spam emails “following up regarding a message left the other day”... no calls no messages, and to top it off no one answers the phone at the gym, so sure enough more spam via text of “sorry we were busy”... I guess I’ll take my money to somewhere that actually wants my business, they must have to many members at this point?

Well this is just great. You call them to cancel it. They text you it had been cancelled. But Beware, you ll still get charged. When you call them, they won't pick up and just in case they do, they'll say not their issue anymore. Called ABC to ask about deduction they are saying it was never cancelled. Call the location. When calling location guess what. No one picks up. This is just so annoying. And also they still charge you even though you have proof they messaged cancelled. Dont join this gym.

When covid started anytime fitness charged me for a month of fitness, I was a little upset so I called the owner and he reimbursed me the money right away. After covid they charged me again without my knowledge and I had thought I’d canceled the membership. They wouldn’t give me a refund. The owner rob said to call him back and he would give me a refund right away. There’s a little more to the story but all in all rob does good business. Thank you rob for putting out the fire.

Talked to the owner (ROB) of Anytime Fitness Ellerslie road at 66. He was very rude while giving the entry details without telling us about the usage of fob. As we 2 people got registration together and already told them that we'll be working out together still then they didn't aware us. While talking to ROB the owner, he cancelled our membership without telling us and was rude while explaining this and also hung up between the call without even responding properly.

The gym itself Is very basic as far as equipment goes. I know people who are at LA fitness paying less and they have more amenities there and way more equipment. I do like that the gym is never that busy though and that it is 24 hours. There were a couple times when I was charged extra but the manager Rob took care of it and refunded my money so that wasn't a big issue. Good luck trying to get a hold of staff there even during regular staff hours.

Love this gym! Taking times very seriously when it comes to Covid. Doing there best with member concerns, I witnessed a member in the facility coughing and sneezing allot and I was not the only one to go to staff about this individual. When staff approached her to ask her to leave till she was better and to put a mask on, she was very rude and very uncooperative. Thank you Anytime staff and owners for taking our health and safety seriously

I attend at various hours, each time I go I can do my workout without interruption. During staffed hours, staff are always available to direct me, help me out or talk with me about what’s happening in the gym, and what will serve me best! The location and ample parking is awesome. I took time off from the gym for a bit and was welcomed back and so happy to be back and got me back on track! The variety of machines are spot on.

Felt very relieved today as i was contacted by the new management of Anytime Fitness as to know what made me write my previous review, my concern was properly addressed and will for sure go back to join this gym under the new management as to see what had been improved if am given an extension to stay a little more in edmonton by my employer. Without your motivation and push I wouldn't have made it till here. Horrible service. Continuously tried asking for tips or some help and was always ignored and told I would be helped out in a bit. Washrooms we’re always dirty. Machines seemed to never be cleaned. No proper locker rooms. Just a horrible gym. Charged for random things. Never offered any advice or was ever greeted by anyone. Staff just did not care. Absolutely the worst gym ever. DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP

I've been going to Anytime Fitness since this location opened. It is well maintained, clean and organized. There are 3 bathrooms that double as change rooms and day use lockers. I have zero complaints about this gym. There is always a steady stream of people in there and I have never felt unsafe working out late at night. It's in a convenient location and staff are super friendly and helpful!

I joined on a monthly plan and chose to pay the higher amount and still cannot get them to end my agreement. I gave notice in February and am still waiting. I called the credit card company and, surprise, they are already considered a blockable vendor. Don't sign a contract. Don't join monthly. Dont even walk in the building. Proceed to the closest non Anytime Fitness Gym.

This is a great fitness center.Nice, friendly, cozy place to work out. They have a lot of new machines and the workers are helpful and welcoming. They also hold weekly Yoga classes. I attended it quite a few times. They really enhanced my fitness experience.The owner is very helpful. I had some issue and he personally took the time to solve it. Definitely recommend it.

The music is so incredibly loud, noise canceling headphones aren't enough to drown out the terrible trap music that is constantly blasting in the background. It's been brought to the staffs attentions several times and nothing has been done to change it. Otherwise not a bad gym, i just can't get past the ridiculously loud music they blast in front of the free weights.

Staff is very rude. The girl was telling these weights are not for lifting means i cant lift heavy weight in this gym only use light weights and secondly i asked staff to give me password and they ignored me because they were busy in looking people around. This location is making their own laws other then mutual company laws. If i have a option i will give 0 ratings.

Amazing gym with lots of equipment variety. So happy they opened June 12 and followed all the proper social distancing protocols. Happy to be back to the gym after 3 months of not having a gym. I used to go to Fit4Less and they are not even open and when they do, they have all these rules that makes working out almost impossible in 1 hour. Keep it up Rick and Kat!!!!

Love the cleanliness. The staff appreciate a clean gym and do very well to maintain and educate the anytime members on how to respect the environment and equipment. I love that they added lockers and a nice towel section on the way in. The showers are something you'd see at a 5 star resort and are always well kept. Incredible customer service from very committed workers at this location. Even better, you can get a discount if you’re a member at the supplement shop adjacent to the gym. Large variety of equipment and, despite the grandiose size, it is very clean. You must have a key to enter, so even with a large amount of members, there is no loitering and minimal crowding.

People working here have no idea what their policies are. NO WORK ETHIC, NO RESPECT, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. They will tell you anything which is convenient for them and will favour them in that situation. They have no knowledge about payment info and also they pretty much break their own contract. Very disappointed please dont waste your money in this gym.

Everything about this gym is cool. Orange you glad the water fountain is orange? Heck even the address here starts with 69. Need a power/squat rack? Good news... there is about 500% more than Goodlife/Planet Fitness/LA Fitness/Movati. If you want to do any strength training you go here unless you like to wait for 1 hour at Goodlife.

Generally a good location, but the layout for the gym is changed way too often. The last one was quite good, but they can't seem to make a permanent choice. Leg curl / extension was broken like since December and now when restrictions are off its still not resolved . Again overall it's a pretty decent gym.

Gym is def. more catered towards people who want to sign up for a membership and never actually use the gym. Clean gym, but seriously lacking equipment. There's only one bench press, and two free benches. This makes it a huge hassle to even try to get onto one during the day. Edit : Owner actually contacted me and was very understanding of the situation and was very professional! Very impressed

Anytime Fitness gyms are pretty standard. This one has all the basics, and is nice as a neighbourhood gym because there are very few gyms within close proximity. However, their equipment quality lacks somewhat (the distance between their rack pin holes can make unracking/reracking awkward).

Love this gym! Super convenient. The gym is rather small compared to other but it is kept super clean. Has a decent amount of equipment to use too. When you sign up you are given a key fob which allows you to workout whenever you can, great way to keep yourself motivated!

I've attended a few locations, this one seems more run down, it is increasingly difficult to get cardio equipment during peak times, covid is here to stay a while, it would be nice if they came up with some solutions, 3 treadmills and 2 ellipticals is not enough.

Ive been going to this gym for 3 years. It's super clean and convenient. The people there are very nice as well. I have never switched gyms since ive joined it. If you live by this gym I would really consider it. It almost like a personal gym during the nights.

Not a terrible place if you're just starting your fitness journey. The machines are a little crowded together. The lack of dumbbells above 100 lbs and machines that are in bigger gyms make this a non-starter for the advanced lifter. Just not enough equipment.

I work out here regularly. The place is kept clean. It's got the basic machines for cardio and enough free weights for heavy lifting. It might be nice to rotate and see a new machine once in awhile. I also like that there is a heavy bag for boxing.
