An absolute dark horse that already has me wanting to come back when I've still yet to digest this absolutely awsomest meal I just had... Okay, so "awsomest" might not be a real word but it should be, just to describe Aquacotta. Been wanting to try this place for a long time but didn't seem to find enough enthusiasm to go until tonight. We just wanted to be random and so just rocked up, with absolutely no expectations and a growing appetite. Nondescript, yet somewhat warm and cosy when we entered, even though we were the only patrons in there. Hence why my description of it as being a "dark horse" is quite fitting from the outside looking in. They were, however, quite busy in the kitchen whilst people were constantly coming and going for pickup or take away, and yet our food arrived in a very timely manner considering... Added to that, their menu wasn't too extensive. This tends to show that they've a confidence that what they do, they must do well and have no need to do any more than that. And that is actually something I look for specifically in a place that I would deign to enjoy a certain cuisine or dish. A few specialty dishes done really well as opposed to a place with a wide variety of dishes done very poorly. And the 5 dishes that we had tonight were absolutely the awsomest!!! In fact, tonight's meal was the best meal of the year thus far eating out, and I don't think I can give a higher compliment than that. I can literally go on and on about tonight's meal, but we're coming back next week as we were so full, we didn't even look at the dessert menu. So expect to see another review...

Picked this place randomly for dinner. We didn’t expect much considering the area but once our food arrived we were pleasantly surprised and very impressed. We ordered a mix of entrees and a few pizzas. Food was cooked to perfection, hot on arrival and full of flavour. Quite reasonably priced too. It was my brothers birthdays and we brought our own cake. Without asking, the owners placed sparkles on the cake, dimmed the restaurant lights and played guitar whilst singing happy birthday! What a wonderful and extremely unexpected gesture. It really made our night. If you’re a local this needs to be your regular place to eat at. Will definitely be back here. Thank you for your exceptional service

After 1.5 hours of waiting for 3 pastas, my ubereats driver asked me to call restaurant as he had been waiting for almost 20 minutes. I call them and after a long wait she tells me it hasn’t been started yet and it will be another 15 minutes (assume they lost my order?) and if I would like to cancel. I cancelled as it was already 9pm and would be 9:30 (2 hours) by the time I got dinner for my kids. However I’m still being charged the full amount because ubereats says the food was ready and awaiting collection. It hadn’t even been started and my driver was there! Tried contacting restaurant but nobody has gotten back to me. Absolute greed.

Aquacotta is a really special gem in the heart of Liverpool that deserves much more love and attention. I dined in and ordered the spaghetti bolognese first and then had the prosciutto pizza. These two dishes were fresh and made perfectly with perfect portions. They demonstrated what Italian cuisine is all about and it reminded me why I’m such a big fan of it. The time from ordering to getting my food was very quick and the service was a pleasure. The waitress was very good and the overall environment of the restaurant is very pleasing. I will definitely be coming back to Aquacotta. Easily 5 star worthy, I would give more if it were possible.

Wonderful restaurant with beautiful ambiance. My boyfriend bought me here for our first date 2 years ago and we had moved to Camden (a little over a year ago). We drove past the Aquacotta today and decided to eat here for our two year anniversary today and it brought back this old reminiscent feeling. Thank you to the waitress for her kind attitude (I believe it was the same lady the served us two years ago (she has a very unforgettable face haha) and mannerisms, as well as the chefs for their exquisite cooking. My boyfriend and I wouldn’t be together if it wasn’t for Aquacotta.

Terrible experience! The manager/waitress attitude was appalling. The online booking system is dysfunctional, they don’t look at it just fyi and instead of apologising, they made it seem like it was our fault for booking online when it's an option on Google Maps!! Unprofessional and disrespectful treatment. We won't be returning and certainly won't recommend it. Also, the 4.2-star rating doesn't reflect reality with so many negative ratings due to the worst customer service.

Why make a reservation when I show up and they tell me to wait because they "don't kick anyone out?" Surely they wouldn't overbook. I don't blame the workers, it's gotta be management who've put them up to this. All they're doing is losing money and customers. I hope the food is good once they let me in (I've been waiting over half an hour already) Edit: we waited for another hour and a half before we finally got our food. Took way too long and we ended up almost being the last ones there!!! The food, however, was very nice, hence the two stars

First time going to this place. I must say the pizza was amazing. We ordered vegetarian pizza and it was soo good! Normally after pizza, I get bloated and feel so heavy but this pizza was so light on my stomach because the bread/dough was very fresh and well done. We had take away as we had some plans and wanted a quick diner but definitely next time we will be dining in as the atmosphere inside was super chill relaxing and retro at the same time. Can’t wait to try more of what this 5 star place has to offer.

Went there for the valentine's day dinner ,they had the valentine's day three course menu with limited range of starters,mains and dessert,they restaurant was full with couples and was a place that is sort after,due to COVID they reservation spot was limited and booked out soon, they were also short staffed so there was a delay in getting the meals.Other than that the food was good enjoyed a lovely dinner with my lover boi .

Lovely Italian restaurant to taste some authentic Italian food. Overall great service, Delicious food. Wood fired pizzas were amazing, very large and filled with toppings. The garlic prawns were just cooked perfectly. Firm, plump and bouncy texture. We've eaten here a handful of times and each time it didn't disappoint.

Had a lovely meal in a quiet atmosphere with great service. I loved the muscle entre, which was followed up with a wood fired pizza. A capriciousa with added pineapple and hot salami. Again very delicious cooked to perfection with a thin crust. The cocktails were great too, particularly the midori splice.

Went there on a Sunday night to celebrate an 80th birthday. We were a party of six and we all enjoyed it very much. The service was excellent and the lovely lady organised a special birthday treat and they played and sung Happy Birthday for my brother in law. The food was delicious and was thoroughly enjoyed. A gem in Liverpool.

I absaloutly loved aquacotta weekly fortnightly would order pizza pasta now will never order from there ever again i ordered 2 pizzas a diavlo and a tropical diavlo was fine but i dont know if this was on purpose but the tripical pizza was half ham and pinaple and the other was anchovies and olives im not sure if they have changed management but im not impressed

I just picked up 2 pizzas and a pasta from here and it’s truly amazing food. I’m literally only half way through and had to stop to review For me the pizza was a stand out but can’t take away that authentic tasting sauce and deliciously luscious prawns. Highly recommend

Horrible pizza. The base looked generic and inauthentic, I doubt they made it on site and if by some miracle it had been, it was probably frozen. The sauce was so unbearably salty and the low quality cheese meant for an unpleasant, chewy texture once set, it was also disgustingly oily. We called it quits after half a slice each, terribly disappointing.

We had our daughter’s B’day party there (over 30 people), the food & service was great and we were pleasantly surprised with a guitar B’day song. Thank you Linda, Demyan & staff for making our special day so memorable.

Me & my partner have gone a couple times now & they never fail to impress us! The entree’s are so generous & definitely tasty! The customer service is always 10/10. Always smiles when we walk in. I give props to the waiter who remembered me & my partner from when we came weeks ago. Loved it! Thank you guys we’ll definitely be in again.

We arrived at 6:30PM and ordered our food, however, they only brought out two glasses of red wine after 20 minutes of waiting. We didn't receive any of our food until 9:00PM so we ended up leaving. Don't go to this restaurant, the service is very poor and our experience was awful.

Great food and very delicious. My family and I have resided near the Liverpool area for the past 5 years. We haven't come across Italian food like this in the area. When it comes to Italian food, Aquacotta matches any Norton Street, Leichhardt Italian restaurant. 5 star service from Linda and Demyan.

I like this restaurant, I've come here several times, they are at their best when it's not too busy. I recommend coming early, you get nice service, a nice table and well presented and made food. Mostly I'm quite happy with them, minor things here and there but generally it's good!

Food is good but the waiting time for the food does take more than 30 mins on occasions. More staff also is needed as the service is quite slow.

This was a surprising gem. The area outside didn't look all that great, but the restaurant itself was quite nice.
