"This place is so amazing! Can't believe how much fun I had here, one of the best nites in Toronto"
Great neighbourhood haunt that is slightly hidden off Yonge street that is mostly a local spot. The prices are really good and the staff was always very good to us! I never spent much time in the downstairs restaurant area, but I have had the food many times. I usually got the scotch egg, which was good. Overall, the food is pretty box standard British pub food. I would usually be in the upstairs bar area, or in the backyard tiki bar area in the summer. Made a lot of great memories here and I always enjoyed my time meeting people or playing a bit of pool. My roommate and myself would frequent the Dodger a few times a week as it never blew the bank, and I think that's why there is always a steady stream of locals hanging out here after work and grabbing more than a couple drinks. It's also great for pre-drinks if you have somewhere to be later in the evening. I wish I still lived in the area so I could visit more. If you are new to the area, and are looking for a new neighbourhood hole in the wall for cheap drinks, The Artful Dodger is certainly a spot to check out.
Rude server passive aggressively dumped an unmade drink after a simple request to remake a drink that had dirty ice. Stoped in for an $8 cocktail on a dead Sunday night. My friend recommended the spot after having great deals and service from the bartenders and a female server upstairs. The bartenders were lovely again. However, the male mullet haired server we had was fine at first. Then I noticed my drink had opaque white chunks in it. At first I thought it wasn't a big deal, but neither is remaking a drink . And it wasn't air bubbles as he wanted to make us believe. He returned and proceed to dump the departed ingredient on the table as if to say "here, make it yourself' I was surprised. I work I in service I am always polite because I know they're busy Yet he went out of his way to waste supplies to do this. Especially as a woman, this felt very condescending. We barely interacted. This was very unnecessary and overtly rude. Too bad the drink were a good deal, if you get them.

Beautiful Saturday afternoon and I wanted to cherish it-where to go? I went traveling around the city until I found this gem. It is exactly what I was looking for a place with a nice outdoor patio with trees and some serenity from the usual big city, without the crowds and the ongoing noise and smells of constant traffic. This place hit the spot, with its truly surprising and wonderful back patio. It like I was transported to a far away place. I just love the eccentricity of the back patio. I could spend hours just taking it in. Our server was amazing and she didn’t hassle us to leave by giving me the bill after we were through with our drinks and food. We both had the Scottish eggs, which I’ve been dying to have forever and bangers and mash, which is something I try at every British themed bar-both where good especially the Scottish egg, which is an egg encased in meatloaf with a spicy coating-yum. The Artful dodger is definitely one of the places to go to on a beautiful, lazy Saturday afternoon to escape the big city hustle.
I came here on a sad day, and left happy. It's become a new fave spot for me. I go to ABC books just a minute walk south, then come here to have some time to myself and check out my books. The staff are very welcoming, the vibe is perfect and the food is delicious and well priced. Coming to a pub alone can be scary, but this place is anything but. Carpeted floors, warm lighting, plants, and folk/alternative music; you have no choice but to feel at home. Drinks are well made and well priced, I'm a bar rail double kind of gal and happy with the price. The food... So far honestly I've only had the veggie quesadilla (once with taco beef) and it's the best g*damn quesadilla I've had. To top it off it's only 8$ for two stuffed tortillas with lots of cheese and varied veg. Highly recommend... In an area that's losing it's authenticity and safety, this is a place I feel old time Toronto and safety, keep up the good work!
This place is so amazing! Can't believe how much fun I had here, one of the best nites in Toronto. The vibes are unmatched, the band sounded, like a band. The countless-timeless posters added a whole other layer to this great atmosphere. The jukebox works too! & The pool table in the middle of the room just gave it a nice edge. Although the volume is very dynamic, I was still able to have a quiet to loud conversation and still have headroom for a discreet phone call . For a local spot look no further, friend staff, great faces, dope music. Thank you Max for bringing me here. ️

Extremely affordable!! I was there on st paddy’s day. The bartenders and servers were friendly and cheerful. Quick and attentive. I got great service from Stacy, Kaitlin and Adam. The food is delicious and they have great specials and daily soups. Best garlic bread ever. And the hot roast beef sandwich is served that garlic bread! Free pool on Mondays, a dart board and a good selection of beer. They also rent out the upstairs bar for parties with affordable platters. They will do cash and carry for events too.

Invited by a friend for lunch. We sat on the front patio which is easily accessible. The rest of the pub has stairs to the main floor and more stairs to the washrooms. Although not busy at all, our waitress was so involved chatting with one customer and "cleaning," she had to be asked three times for water and got that wrong. Lime, not lemon. The meal itself was fine with a good piece of haddock that was perfectly cooked with a nice crispy batter. The accompanying tartar sauce served in a paper cup had a discoloured top which looked like it had been sitting for a week. I passed on that so I can't tell you what it tastes like. But prices are fair and the portions are respectable.
Awesome place to spend good time at the evening. Just so chilling and relaxing OMG, your calamari definitely best in Toronto! Chips and Fish same on high level We will keep coming back while we live nearby

They have vegetarian burger but honestly it’s fail No taste at all. It’s like a bunch of quinoa put together without any spices and made burger patty. You don’t have to create anything in house like that. The guys from Beyond meat did it already Just take it as an advice
Pool table on the back patio was $2.00 to play a round. At 5 pm the back bar opens. Weather was terrific. Near perfect Guinness poured at the bar. Front patio was perfect for people watching. We tried risotto balls, they were delicious. They are like mozzarella sticks but better. Bar tender knew her stuff. She listened to our likes and dislikes and all her suggestions were wonderful. Even the juke box had fun Canadian mix. We've already gone back and have plans to do so again.

Located in the north Yong Street corner of Toronto's Gay Village, this LGBT friendly pub provides a good selection of brews and reasonably priced public house favourites. For those new to the 'Doger', this is a seat yourself venue, so just grab a seat and the wait staff will come over. If you'd rather sit at the bar, that is available. This place can get really busy so just be patient and a server will be over soon. The drinks and food will come quickly after. This place has a nice patio that in the summer is shaded by a few large trees which makes for a pleasant experience. Good place to go for a cold pint.
I love this place. My mom and I visited for the first time one afternoon for lunch and drinks and we were so pleased with the atmosphere, selection, delicious food, and great prices. I went back on a Friday night and sat at the second floor bar - met some amazing people and had a splendid time. I accidentally forgot my backpack hanging under the bar and some polite guest returned it to the bartender with everything intact. The server helped get it back to me the next day with no hassle and it made my day. What a cool spot. Looking to make this my regular bar! Such nice people here!
We were so happy to be back at the Dodger and enjoy a touch of nostalgia. It had been a long time. The atmosphere remains cozy, inviting and warm. The service was fast and courteous. She was definitely busy, so kudos to her for being so on top of everything for everyone. She didn't miss a beat. The menu has evolved with the years but everything we had was delicious. Planning a date night with the hubby. Didn't see the elderly gentleman owner that use to hustle and bustle around, we hope he is well.

Non-breaded wings, definitely a plus Warm, room-temp beverages, definitely a minus Place is nothing much to speak of, it’s dated and could use a refresh but that’s not why you go to this bar! The service on this particular night was fantastic! The server was quick to respond and was prompt with requests and the cheque! The wings were evenly fried and properly sauced and tossed! Nothing extraordinary about them but they get the job done!

It was the last of many places my friend and I attempted to have fish and chips at on Good Friday and we managed to do so without having to line up, book in advance etc. Not bad. I think the chips could be cooked a little longer (or at a higher temperature) to make them about more crispy. We loved the authenticity of the pubs atmosphere.

The place has its own ambiance. It’s the perfect place to gather with friends and have some beer with snacks. I’ve ordered beer, calamari and veggie burger with sweet potato fries. I was surprised that food was so delicious. The only thing that I didn’t like was veggie cutlet( but it’s my bad, it’s written in the menu what it’s made of) Overall I don’t have any other concerns, will definitely come back.

We are relatively regular here especially for weekend brunches where we mostly go for the Bulldog breakfast. Today tried their burger. It's a real pub. I decent selection of draught beer, including Guinness, and standard but good quailty and decently priced pub food. Most recently I had a cracking good sausage, beans and mash. I've been going here for 15+ years, I even bring visiting family, and I'm satisfied every time.

Terrible food and rude service. They literally served rotten lettuce on a plate as a garnish with my meal (i regret not taking a pic). All 4 of our meals were undercooked - both lunch and brunch options. And when i simply tried to ask for cream with my coffee i was interrupted and shamed by the server. Never going back again.

The Artful Dodger on Isabella Street in downtown Toronto is one of the most stylish pubs in town. The English/Irish Pub is full of its own distinctive character, the very type of pub that gives Toronto its downtown vibe. There is ample seating indoor (distributed amongst two floors) as well as outdoor. Along with the Imperial Pub on Dundas, the Artful Dodger has one of the best poutines in the city. If you’re not from Canada, a poutine is a must.
Amazing atmosphere. The first and only pub I have been to in North America without any television screens in the main dining hall. Yeah, they have some by the bar, but that's okay. It was quite lovely and very well-priced. You can have a giant burger and a drink for under $20. If I lived in Toronto, this would be my living room.

Great food, cool patios, great service and ice cold beer! Their butter chicken tastes really authentic and is rather spicy, which I loved. Always busy, and obviously for a good reason. I took off one star because I felt like I was going to be sick after my meal (maybe linked to the sanitary conditions in their kitchen?), a thing that rarely happens to me, but the feeling lasted only for a couple of hours, so no damage in the end.
Was walking around yonge with a friend for lunch we were jus working up the street and found this place Amazing. The couple next to us ordered the Fish and Chips it looked soo good so we ordered the same, WOW i was blown away best fish and chips ive ever had, massive piece of fish and not to much breading, so crispy amazing will be coming back

Do not get beer at the downstairs bar and then bring it upstairs yourself!!! I got told off for doing that!!! I went downstairs to get a beer because the upstairs bar was busy, only had one server, and had a line up while there was no wait downstairs. Maybe adjust the staffing number upstairs so I didn't have to go downstairs for a drink ♀️

The food was excellent. Sheppard's pie was delicious. Beer on tap was ok. When you asked what was on tap you kind of got a weird answer. Service is where this place lacks. It was not busy and the bartender and staff were too busy talking about when they open their own place how great it will be rather than serve customers. I was disappointed.

This is a really cute pub to sit at. Music is quite quiet so it’s easy to chat, but wouldn’t call it lively. As with most pubs the food isn’t great, I would stick to the simple orders. We got the burger, the wings and the pierogies - none of which were great, but they were good enough. Lots of beer and friendly staff.
My go-to pub when visiting Toronto. It's a nice spot to have lunch and a couple of pints on our way out. Prices are very reasonable and the food is classic pub fare. Good ambiance, and entertaining people watching. Service is always friendly and efficient.

This pub is decent and has a good selection of beer. The service is usually quick and the staff friendly. The food options are ok, would like to see more variety. On the plus side, they have two patios, one out front that is open during warmer months, and another out back when they are busy!
Trivia is well done and always a blast, beautiful and large rooftop for all your summer shindigs, big rock outside to sit on if you’re waiting for a group of chronically late pals to assemble, very helpful waitstaff, even offering towels to their clumsiest of patrons
