I am incredibly disappointed in the reduction of the car park times from 3 hours to 1 hour without any notice, any grace period or any consideration of the customers. I have just received a £70 fine for overstaying and, as someone who regularly attends ASDA for their weekly shopping for the last 9 year, I am appalled by the management who believe that customers can be taken advantage of so easily. The signage was almost non-existent and it is beyond ridiculous to expect someone to complete their weekly shop within an hour. In addition, it is unreasonable of ASDA to expect its customers to read the signage every time they come and shop at ASDA as it is not only an inconvenience but also suggest that ASDA is trying to take advantage of its customers by changing the parking restrictions without them knowing. At the very least, I would expect a large poster on entrance to the store from the travelator, so that it is easily visible to all customers. It is safe to say that I most certainly will not be shopping at ASDA again and will look to shop at the Sainsbury's opposite or the Morrisons further up the high street, both of whom do not treat their loyal customers with such contempt.

BEWARE BEFORE YOU VISIT IF ITS BEEN A WHILE!.... I'm registered disabled so shopping takes me quite some time however asda usually I'd amazing as I normally have plenty of time to park....visited 2 weeks ago and stayed just under 2 hours and now hit with a 70 pound fine when I'm already struggling to survive with my basic daily living pip Think I'll go back to tesco new Malden where parking is 100%free and unlimited because what's the point in saving a few pennies to be hit with 70 quid?... that's a whole weeks money for me! On top of that the letter took so long to reach me that I didn't even have the option to down pay to 40....this is a HUGE SCAM IMO as I'm sure many people will be caught out by this and unfortunately I barely have the energy to shop....how can I have the energy to fight a fine?

I will be submitting this to the store directly in the hope change is brought about, but only seemed right to inform the public as well. Many have complained about new managements decision over parking. I would like to say that has been amended now to two hours, however with the store in chaos, I have left today with moments to spare. The store has been rearranged to complete illogical places meaning jumping between aisles and wandering aimlessly to find things. Not to mention mouldy items on shelves and dodging pallets with no team members dedicated to actually unloading the delivery, making essential items unavailable. I've always found this store to be great. Always tried to convince family to shop here instead of competitors like Morrison's and Sainsburys. I actually travel from Hackbridge because I found this store to be worth the extra travel but with all changes I'll stick to my local lidl

It was a great store and my goto shop in Sutton, partly because they offered 3 hrs parking. However, I recently received a parking ticket for £70 because they cut the time to 1 hr without significant warning (the signs were small), so I returned today and noticed that not only have the signs been replaced with new, clearer marked signs, the time is now 2hrs. I complained about my ticket, and the manager agreed to take this ticket only. Unfortunately for me, I was also there last Saturday, so I am expecting yet another ticket, for which I will have to pay the £70. Check out the photos I have posted showing that there are NO visible signs for drivers on entry to the car park. I will miss shopping here, but I'm unhappy with the way Asda has handled this. As a pensioner, I simply can't afford to shop here. Luckily there are plenty of other supermarkets near this one.

I have been shopping at Asda for more than ten years, but what happened a few months ago is very sad and upsetting. Today I was faced with the fact that the parking time is only 1 hour, this is completely unacceptable. The shelves have been empty for months, but at the same time the prices are rising almost weekly and it's so cold that you completely freeze by the time you finish shopping, it's very outrageous that the cash registers are not or barely working! Every purchase is a failure lately! We constantly feel that we are being punished! Therefore, dear management, get ready as soon as possible!

Why has the parking changed from 3 hours to 1 hour? I was not aware and was in a rush that day assuming it was still 3 hours. I now have a £70 fine. I was only 1 hour 23 minutes. I have been going to asda since it opened. I will not be shopping there anymore now. How are elderly people going to do their shopping in an hour? How can people with families do their shopping in an hour? My friends and family feel the same and now we will be going elsewhere to shop. You will loose a lot of customers and a lot of money. How can you do this to us when we have been stung by ULEZ and now this!!

Disgusting 1 hour parking new charge …. I will not shop here anymore until you extend your time to 2 hours ….I will go to burgh health or Beddington lane . By the time I get my kids our the car get to the ground floor to shop I would only be able to get bread and milk to rush back what a joke oh to extend my time I have to then go to customer services in a long que which could make me go over the hour… I don’t need that stress in my life . I will shop elsewhere like many others bye asda Sutton you will lose a lot of customers from your greedy new manager

Huge superstore, excellent parking within building. Good array of products - it even has a halal meats section which is ideal for the Muslim community. There is a pharmacy at the entrance and an Oriental takeout for noodles, rice, etc. The hot food section runs out of roast chicken every so often. I love the breakfast selection each morning,. They are very competitively priced. The homeware section can be a mess sometimes, probably because of the way the oddly shaped items are arranged

Absolutely appalled to have received a £70 fine in the post as a loyal customer - how is an hour enough to do your shopping? It should have been made explicitly clear, heavily signposted that the time was changing!!!! Not just editing the few signs around the store that there already are, of course I wouldn’t pay attention/notice these when I am used to 3 hours shopping, why would I? Will be logging this as a formal complaint as I think this fine is unjust.

If "The Coffee Bloom" is indeed a new coffee shop in Sutton city centre, I encourage you to visit the place, have a personal experience, and then write a genuine Google review based on your own thoughts and feelings about the coffee shop. Be descriptive, honest, and consider providing feedback on the quality of coffee, ambiance, service, and any other relevant aspects. Your review will help others make informed decisions when visiting the place.

Absolutely ridiculous decision of changing the parking time from 3 to 1 hour. Just received a parking charge notice that i over stayed. Never knew that the parking timing has been changed. How can one do a weekly or monthly shopping done in an hour with waiting times on till takes almost 15-20 minutes. I was a regular customer but now time to change the store i guess. You will definitely loose your loyal customers. Good-luck with that now.

  • Narmin Sheydayeva

Disappointed with Asda, sneakily changed parking from 3 hours to 1 hour. After a few complaints, they changed it for up to 2 hours. However, there are a number of people, including myself, who have received a parking fine already. 0ther than shopping, I also had to queue for a pharmacy, which took over an hour...not sure how you expect to do a full shopping and get my prescription, leave the car park within an hour. Absolutely appalling!!

Shame on you Asda for teaming up with parkingeye and changing your parking rules from 3 hours to 1 hour free parking. It's just another way of getting peoples money! I shopped here for years and so never felt the need to check your parking rules and was shocked when I received a parking ticket. I have paid it but I will never enter your car park and shop in any of your stores again. It the principle for me. Once again SHAME on you!

Stopped shopping at tesco to shop here. Going back to Tesco. 1 hour parking!!! What a joke. I don't have young kids or luckily suffer a disability so I feel for customer's in that category.i definatly need more than an hour to do a weekly shop. So how do they do it With the cost of living etc again greedy corporates target the poorest. So thankyou Asda bosses I'm on the way to tesco.

Asda wants to fianacially scam us with parking fines with their new 1 HR parking restrictions. Have they done a survey of how long the self service check outs take at peak times, took me one time 20mins with waiting for lift. The dumbest decision I have ever seen, the managers need to go study basic common sense. Worse than taking a bleeding dump.

  • Volodymyr Nedashkivskyi

It was a Superstore now it's just a pay and display car park next to the supermarket. One hour is simply not enough for customers who are doing weekly shopping over the weekend. I can understand where this change is coming from but free parking should be at least 1.5 hours (or better 2) for the store this size.

Asda is Asda. It kindly does what it says on the tin. It's a useful large store offering all your groceries, household and frozen food in one place . My experience there has been positive with helpful staff and reasonable prices. It is a large store and you may have to ask where to find things ,good offers.

  • Krisztina

Big selection in store but the Take Away counter is frequently missing staff, once I have waited 20 minutes and had to ask other staff members to find someone to serve us. Waiting again, we are at the 15 minute mark, an Asda staff member just checked and there is nobody in the back either… Still waiting

Generally a clean and pleasant store - except for the uncooked meat section. On my last 3 visits this has looked like the last day of the Harrods sale - very little stock, and what meat remains is often in the wrong place (though no problems with the chicken section - this seems fine for some reason)

  • Mark Mohamed

Got caught with the £70 parking scam. Sneakily dropping the parking time from 3hours to 1hour without placing additional signage around the store. Gotta say since Asda was bought by the billionaire Issa brothers, it has turned into a rip-off machine! Don't get scammed on the parking..shop elsewhere!

  • Her Two Pence

Oh my my, this place is huge. Pretty much a one stop shop. Very clean and well stocked. Lifts to the car park. £2 for 2 hrs parking, which you get back if you spend a minimum of £5. The machine prints two copies. One for your dashboard and the other for you to give to cashier upon checkout.

  • TV_Toxic 2008

Very disappointed that Asda Sutton has cut its parking down to 1 hour. I will no longer be shopping here as I think it is just to make money out of its shoppers in a very very difficult time economically. All the other supermarkets are at least half an hour longer. Shame on you Asda !

  • Zeeshan

Shame parking reduced to 1 hr. I will never shop here again. On busy days it takes almost 15-20 minutes to find a Slot and then to come out. Easy way to destroy a successful business. Good luck. Seems they intentionally want to close the store and start a new parking business

  • King Raj

I was served by Sean or Shawn (not sure about the spelling) at Asda today (18/11/2023 at 21.15 at the self service check out. One of the quality and best customer service I have even received in Asda. He deserves a reward :)

  • Nick

New parking limit of 1 hour (from 3 hours) is disgraceful, and discriminates against the elderly, disabled, and those with mobility issues. How are these people supposed to shop within this time limit? A terrible decision.

  • Liam

As a customer I can see how overworked the staff are. The click and collect staff are overworked and understaffed. A lovely click and collect employee , called Luke helped me, he was brilliant. Five stars for him.

  • Aman Kalra

I was a regular customer but since the parking is reduced to 1 hour, I have started doing the shopping in another super store. It’s areal shame. I hope something will be done soon to retain the customers.

  • Richard S

Looks like new manager has reduced parking time to 1 hour only, exceeding that means £70 fine. Don't know many people can do all shopping in one hour! One way to lose business I suppose.

  • John Oshea

Hope you’re happy with the two lots of £40 that you’re getting from me! You probably won’t miss this £100 (approx) that you got from my shopping either. Thanks but no thanks Asda
