I am a regular visit at the vet, having one of my pet come for boarding and other health consultation. The service was great in the first few time but recently the quality have been lower than standard. The staff generally very friendly but the new young staff need to improve on the service and organisation like the experiences staff at the vet. Here is a fews point on my feedback on my visit 29th January. Firstly, the communication, for boarding, the form had been filled out with the requirement and the requested also clearly made but the nurse have not meet the request and the requirement. Secondly for the organisation of pick up, the nurse have not planning well for the comfort and well being of the client and the pet, for example, in the middle of doing the paper work, the nurse stop and run to get the pet, without getting the carriage first, the client was holding the pet and waiting for the nurse to complete the paperwork/invoice on her end. Then other animal coming to the clinic create a discomfort for the whole clinic. And lastly the pricing of the medication and the service wasn't clearly define, different charge in some service and product (1) each time. If the price had increase, the vet should make a notice, so the client can prepare to pay and to budget. In general the vet is a local with great and friendly service which is the great point for client to come back, however, the standard of service should not be detoriate- Keep on the great work and there's heaps of room for improvement!!

This veterinary does not even deserve a star. My dog was hit by a car about 4 years ago and when I took my dog in, I was told that there was a slight bit of internal bleeding and a brief check up was taken place, to date my dog has had complications. I was informed my dog was healthy, and truly was convinced my dog was doing fine, as you would be told by an experienced person in the field. I was convinced my dog was treated. I've heard numerous feedback with regards to poor service and thought I'd give the benefit of the doubt and continue to take my dog, due to it being convenient and up the road from home. A week ago, I took my dog in for a check up as I was concerned with certain behaviours with my dog. She was reacting a little unusual and started to have seizures. I was informed by the vet that my dog was completely healthy and nothing to be concerned. A week today, my dog passed. She was never treated nor was she doing good. She was suffering for an entire 4 years and had the vet treated her at the time, my dog would be with us today. It's absolutely awful and I'm not one to make reviews but if my review can save another dog, I must spread the word. Please, do not ignore this message and I will be escalating my complaint further to Fair Trading to ensure this business does not continue to trade or be the reason of another pet from passing.

Do NOT go here! This vet should not be practicing anymore! He is clearly suffering from memory loss/dementia. I took my new cat in for vaccination. The cat is friendly and he went to get him out of the carrier by the scruff of his neck. I said that I would get him out as I did not want him handled in that manner. The vet proceeded to pull the cat out by the scruff of the neck until I said a second time not to handle my cat that way. During my consultation the vet left to serve a customer in the waiting room. When he finally returned he then took a phone call. All the time I just had to wait while he served other customers in front of me. Finally he came to examine my cat. He looked in it's mouth and then vaccinated him. He did not listen to his chest or feel his tummy or even check his temperature which my previous vet said is always very important. We then discussed performing a blood test. Instead of spraying my cats neck with alcohol he used the spray he used to disinfect the table! After taking the blood he went to vaccinate the cat a second time! I could not believe that someone like this is able to still be a practicing vet. STAY AWAY for the safety of your pets!

Seems to be a common thing here - misdiagnosed pets! Don't even deserve a star! My dog died because Brian was incapable of reading the biopsy results. You'd think that you could trust someone who supposedly has all the proper vet qualifications. I requested for the biopsy results when I noticed my dog's condition was getting worse. I thought I should get a second opinion. Before this, Brian told me my dog was fine and to "just wait and see 2 weeks after the last check-up". Unfortunately, it was too late. My dog died 10 days after the last check-up. He suffered terribly, was in pain and unable to breathe properly. I had to search on Google for the medical terms in the biopsy results to figure out what happened to my dog. Even Google is better than this so-called vet! I took my dog to another clinic when he was in a whole lot of pain and the vet there told me he reckoned my dog had internal bleeding. Brian didn't tell me that. But when I re-read the biopsy results, it indicated that there were symptoms of infection and internal bleeding.

I do not recommend coming here as they are cheating you with their services and overcharge you for no reason at all. First with my cats surgery, they quoted me around $610 for his treatment and were set on that price 110%. Surgery finished and time to pay came and they forced me to pay $1000. When asking them to break it down for me and where did the extra $390 go, no one had an answer. Second being I brought my cat in for a consultation in which they told me will be free. They told me before in person it would be free and when booking the appointment it would be free, just to show up on the day and for them to try charge me $90? To make things worse the lady goes - "fine I'll give you a $20 discount and make your consultation $75 and that will be fair" - absolutely not. Do not recommend at all.

My kitten Petey got sick very suddenly recently. Dr Lou was very knowledgeable and methodical and quickly diagnosed the problem, which very likely saved his life. Dr Lou and the nursing staff treated Petey with kindness and compassion and are obviously very committed to the health and welfare of animals. The staff were understanding and patient and answered all my questions and calmed my nerves as my boy went into surgery, and were very helpful with his aftercare as well. Dr Lou did a great job and Petey has fully recovered and is back to his old cheeky self. Thank you Dr Lou and all the staff at Auburn vet. I'm really happy with the new management and feel very confident taking my pets there in the future. It's clean and professional and the prices are reasonable as well. Highly recommended!

We had an excellent experience bringing our cat Angus here, who had his teeth cleaned as well as a couple of extractions that were needed. Dr Brian and the nurses were all very professional, friendly, caring and patient throughout Angus' care. They clearly understood that Angus is more than just a pet to us, and treated him like a valued member of our family. We were also impressed by the reasonable fees we were charged. We have had poor experiences at some other vet hospitals in the past, so it was very refreshing to find a vet like Dr Brian that we can really trust and will continue to go back to. Very happily recommend Auburn Vet Hospital without hesistation!

Took my 8 month old kitten here for the first time to get a lump looked at. They found it to be an abscess which they drained and gave him all the required medications. They answered all my questions and concerns with high respect and helped me understand everything. They treated my little furbaby like family. I live in Summer Hill but I will be traveling to Auburn to see this vet when my furbaby needs a doctor. They are great! Was adopted by a local stray. Took him in to get checked for a chip, only to find out he’d been chipped by a previous owner who passed him to someone they couldn’t even remember. Thus ensued the most awful ordeal. Waiting to find out if he was going to be claimed was only made better by the amazing care and dedication offered by the wonderful staff. They went out of their way to ensure that he could join us, following every lead until we were certain we could give him a loving home. With enormous gratitude to all the staff at Auburn Veterinary Hospital.

I am sure that he is a competent vet but he would provide a better service if he tempered his “best possible care” approach with some risk management. Best possible care is expensive and can be overkill. Minimal intervention and a “wait and see” approach would be more appropriate in many cases. Certainly, my dog received more tests and interventions that my Children would have received if I took them to the doctor with similar symptoms. Too conservative, too expensive and not focussed on minimising costs and interventions.

I have been taking my cat to Dr. Brian Lou for the last few years. He's very friendly, diligent and knowledgeable. I'm very happy to see he has opened up his own clinic now. He is the only one I trust with my pets and happy to drive over 30 minutes to visit him. It's unfortunate the reviews on here are not a reflection of everyone's experience with Dr. Brian Lou, but with the previous owner. I hope the past reviews of the previous owner would not deter you from bringing your family pets here now.

Doctor Lou saved our cat!!! I have to say he is super professional and his team also deliver the best customer service. Our cat was in a dangerous situation and have to stay on drips and antibiotics for few days in vet , without his professional knowledge , we may have missed the chance to bring her back to normal. I never need to worry to hand over my cat to him and the team during the treatment days because I trust my cat are in the good hands. Thank you doctor Lou and team, owner of Chilly.

Absolutely fantastic staff with a wonderful vet who went above and beyond to help me with all my questions regarding my fur baby Pud-pud. Everything was explained in detail and during my cat's 2 nigh stay, I received a phone call each morning and evening on my cat's condition. I totally and without hesitation recommend Auburn Veterinary Hospital. I wouldn't trust my fur baby anywhere else and I'm happy to say that Pud-pud is so much better. A massive thank you to all the staff.

The staff here were very friendly, and helpful with referring to the ARH. However I am very disappointed that after I called ahead explaining that my rabbit was very out of sorts (actually ended up dying), I was told to bring him in. Then arrived had him examined and was told that as the vet wasnt an exotics specialist I would need to take him elsewhere. Wish that recommendation was given when I called but i suppose the consultation fee was what they were after.

We brought in our puppy as she was having a few issues, within a matter of a few hours, she was back to her normal self! The nurse and vet were both very comforting and professional, they explained everything to us in detail, and were very very helpful. The costs were very also very reasonable and cheap compared to other places. I highly recommend bringing in your pet to this vet. We had a great experience here, and will definitely be coming back here

Took our dog for yearly vaccination and she also received a thorough general examination and helpful advice. Brian Lou has good animal and people manners. Good service at reception. And yes, I had to wait a little, but the few people in front of us appeared happy with the service. Also a few more people arrived after us. I think the high activity is to the credit of Mr Lou's proffesional care. Very glad this Veterinarian chose to practice in our suburb.

Absolutely incredible! I had found a missing dog. I didn't want the owners disappointed or upset its gone missing. I went to see if they could help me find the owner. Unfortunately the microchip was not updated. They advised to leave it with them for a few days to give the owners the opportunity to come forward. I asked them to keep me updated. The staff were incredible. The owner did come forward & I was really happy to hear this.

Dr Brian and his nurses has looked after Milo for the last 5 years. During this time, he has diagnosed his heart murmur, treated for his UTI, provided yearly check-ups/vaccinations and cat boarding while we're away. I've been to other vets in the past however I appreciate the honesty, professionalism, experience and proactiveness when treating Milo. I highly recommend Auburn Vet to anyone that has a pet around the area.

My mum has been there three times and each time when my mum made an appointment, it would usually take over half an hour to be seen. Probably good for people who don’t have jobs or other things to do but new management has been quite poor especially with time management. EDIT: The vet explained why they were late the last time as there was an emergency with a pet which I can understand and have adjusted my post.

Best vet ever - my little cat meow meow tragically got run over & needed urgent amputation. She stayed with Dr Brian for 5 days & had her leg & tail removed. She is now not in pain, plays daily & you wouldn't even know she was run over! She is living her best life. She was cared for very well & even though it was traumatising the vets were really reassuring. The surgery wasn't as expensive as RSPCA either

Don't waste your money here. It is more expensive than other vets and little to no care when dealing with your pets. Maybe it's just cats he doesn't like as he seemed to know nothing about them and had no care factor. Also expect additional charges when you go to pay. I had to take my cat to another vet for proper treatment and couldn't believe how much cheaper it was for above and beyond service.

My parrot had been attacked by a fox through the night and explained what had happened, even offered to show them the video footage and we were asked if we had a booking. Seriously! It’s an emergency and didn’t think we required a booking . didn’t check him out but recommended to take him to Waterloo. No worries maybe we should take all our pets to Waterloo, is this not a Veterinary clinic??

Not at all happy with this new vet at Auburn Vet. Visited yesterday for the very first time. My 8 year old cat was due for yearly vaccinations and other numerous applications. He refused me (his owner) entry, even though I am fully vaccinated and we are out of lockdown. I received bad vibes so i didn't go ahead with the consultation. There were no issues with another vet the next day.

Dr Brian Lou is by far the best vet I have ever met. He quickly diagnosed the problem with Bobby and he and his team did their best to help. He answered questions and gave valuable advice. He was very caring to both Bobby and us all the way. We can not thank you and your team enough. Wish we had come to you sooner rather than waist time and money with the vets at Guildford.

We came to Auburn Vet hospital due to a vomiting issue our kitten was having. Brian and his nurses were extremely thorough in their diagnosis and care for our kitten, taking into consideration our finances. They went above and beyond in the surgery and after care of our kitten and I'm extremely glad we chose their clinic to save our kitten. Highly recommend this clinic :)

The vets are now very competent, which is a big change from the former owner, who, sadly, seemed to completely lose the plot (it was terrible!). Even though they now do an excellent job, they do, however, charge extremely highly for their services. (Be careful not to breathe too heavily while you are there, because I am sure they charge you for using their oxygen.)

They are uncaring, money hungry and selfish vet i have yet to see, my cat had a broken leg they made me pay up $600 for a xray n tell me that they'll get in contact with a specialist n days of me chasing them and they didnt get back to me by the time i told my cat elsewhere the bone was healed in the wrong position and nothing could be done to save my cats leg

Dr Brian has always answered any questions I have had about my dog even out of office hours . My dog gets seizures and sometimes these can be quite severe. He has been able to reassure me and give me the latest treatment options/ research available for my dog. Brian has great bedside manner and treats his patients with respect.

Dr Brian and the entire team at Auburn Veterinary Hospital are extremely thoughtful and practical. I'm a nervous first time dog owner and they've been very reassuring, guiding me through various aspects of care and often recommending more affordable (free) interventions. I trust that they genuinely care for the animals.

My 16 year old cat had his eye ball surgically removed (Enucleation) by Dr Brian Lou. The surgery went well and it's been 4 weeks post surgery and my cat is still doing great. In general enucleation is an expensive procedure however the cost of the eye surgery at Auburn Vet was well priced. Thank you

Dr Lou did a great job with our cat’s surgery. they did an xray with our cat and found out that hairball is clogging her intestines. they did the surgery immediately and after a few days, our cat is back to its normal, sweet self kudos also to the nurses who took care of her while she’s confined

We had our kitten boarding over there while we were away on holiday. They were healthy and happy to see us. The nurse was explaining how they behaved over the period by their names, that was very impressive. From now on, this place will be their place to stay while we are away.

Good old school vet. Tells you as it is. Doesn’t try to upsell you everything. My dog had plaque on his teeth. They suggested to start brushing his teeth to avoid having dental surgery later on. To me this is an honest vet who cares more about the pets then a profit.

I wish I could give him 100 stars. My cat had a fight last night had multiple bites and was very stressed. Vet Dr Lou handled him in such a way that my cat was quiet and trusting which is not like him at all. Awesome treatment. Reasonable price. Extraordinary vet

I wish I could give zero stars. Paid $140 for then not to look into what I was concerned about my cats weight loss and I’m confident they didn’t do that. The old man working there suffers from dementia or something didn’t even recognise me when I walked back in.

Brian the Vet was very attentive and helpful. Nothing to fault on the service. Was not told however that there was a Sunday surcharge as I was not told this when I booked and I had originally asked for a different day and not a Sunday. Was a slight bill shock.

It is never a easy thing to have a euthanise a beloved family pet but Dr Brian Lou handled the difficult situation in a highly professional manner and with the utmost compassion for both the elderly cat and the family involved.

I took my dog here for many years, and while he's been suffering with back problems for half his life, I though this VET was doing the best for my dog. Now reading these reviews make me wonder if I made the right choice.

I've had a great experience with the new Vet Dr Brian and his staff at Auburn Vet Hospital. It is newly renovated and very clean. Dr Brian is friendly and knowledgeable. I'm confident about leaving my pets in his care.

They refuse to see me after 6pm. Only if I pay double as per the young reception on the counter. I've seated already for 10 minutes and be told after she disappeared for along time.
