I have perceived this a few times at Brighton post office - it is a bit hard to pinpoint but the greeting is frosty, authoritative, instructional. It is certainly not engaging, warm or particularly helpful. Today was another edgy experience. I was posting an express envelope and needed a pen to address it. Can I have a pen please? No, we can't do that - "there was a lady the other day that left a pen here and we were told it is a $5000 fine. Covid regulation". Wow I thought. Have I got one in the car? Went to search in the car - no luck. Back into the shop after dismissing the idea of driving home for a pen - instead decided to buy a pack of pens. Noticed a bloke filling out his mail, asked if I can borrow his pen - sure no worries. Finished, up to the counter and noticed the lady hand over a box of pens to the same customer to sign his item with. She grilled him about him giving me his pen within earshot of me (how about that!). He said not a problem. My turn, I draw attention to the supply of pens below the counter, express my surprise, she says they're only for signing things. I say what? That's crazy. So that's the mentality - I think you get the gist. Life is full of challenges isn't it.

We were on holidays in South Australia when I discovered mail was being sent to our home address even though I had organised and paid for a mail redirection service through Australia Post. I contacted Australia Post on the phone and they weren't very helpful and basically brushed me aside and advised me to go to a Post Office. There were two ladies (one is Sandra) who were extremely understanding and very helpful. This was something that should have been rectified by the operator that I contacted originally on the phone. But these ladies at Brighton went out of their way to help me. Thank you.

Blonde middle aged lady and her co worker were talking as I entered the store. There was no one in there except me and when I approached the counter I had to wait for 6 seconds for them to finish their conversation first. Blonde worker was extremely rude, and when I asked for a pen she said “we sell them over there” and that was it. I simply walked out of the store with my package and had to go home, get a pen, and go back to the post office just to post my item off when they clearly had pens behind their counter. Never going back to Brighton post.

I thoroughly enjoy the one day I can get to the post office due to work and arriving to find it closed half an hour before listed on the website and a minuscule little sign stating a change to Saturday hours. Have also encountered rude staff on the rare occasion the shop is open when needed. Why not employ some youth in the area to work the Saturday morning shift so people who work during normal hours can actually get there, win win for employment and busy people! You're not doing much to help save the dying art of snail mail, snakes!

If you need passport photos taken for your children do yourself a huge favour and avoid this post office. Staff are rude and inpatient. If the photos were taken professionally and to an acceptable level then I probably would have given this review one more star but the photos were rejected by the passport office. However, I had a great experience with the staff at the Noarlunga post office and I will be going there from now on even though it is further away from me.

Deliver person came to deliver parcel. Heard front gate looked out window went to front door to hear gate closing. Opened door to find parcel pick up note in door. Can you please explain how parcel not delivered and no knock on door. This is the 3rd time this has happened. Tried to call Brighton and can not speak to Someone to call delivery service back. We pay for delivery when we purchase parcels not a pick up service. Utterly disgusted in Australia Post

Best post office I have ever visited in my 60 years. Four helpful, professional, courteous ladies manage a busy desk, and smile. Even if you have to queue the shop has so many interesting items for sale time passes quickly. I am surprised at the negative reviews as I have never heard the staff be rude or unhelpful. Some folks are down right miserable.

I am in self quarantine. My husband tried to collect a parcel, he took a Australia post authorisation form signed by me and my driver's licence. Australia post took the parcel card from him and would not issue my parcel. How am I supposed to get it if I am in self quarantine? for 2 weeks? extremely poor service and no phone number to call directly.

Paid $170 for a post box and 6mths later still getting other people's mail. I receive messages to say I have mail, drive a long way to collect mail that's not even mine The person with the long red hair, needs to smile and to say hello, she is beyond rude.. Wow really wish I never came here and to cancel my post box there's a cancellation fee .

How strange to see poor reviews. I’ve had nothing but helpful and friendly service in the six years I’ve been going here. They have gone out of their way to help, even when I wasn’t always prepared or knowledgeable about the service I needed. I appreciate the people who work at the Brighton Post.

Received an email saying they couldnt deliver a parcel because nobody was home. My housemate was home. The only time theyre open is when im at work like most people. How are you not open late one day??? Or one day on the weekend? Is this 1956???

Rude staff were annoyed when I approached and asked a question regarding sending a small parcel overseas. If you don’t want to do your job, then find a new job instead of taking out your frustration on your customers.

I have been using this PO for the last 5 years. I have always felt welcome and love the PO Masters sense of humour. He always brings a smile to my face. :)
