This is a beautiful Black-owned restaurant and bar in the hip and buzzing district of Morningside. I’ve always come here for drinks hence am not well-versed with the quality of the food-menu offerings but there is a code on the table where you can scan for the menu. They have a wide variety of drinks / beers on offer. Given how full and loud and venue can get, the outside tables actually provide a better experience for groups of friends coming together as you’re able to hear each other comfortably and dance if you want to. Plus Durban is never cold so you can always afford to sit outside. The owner has put a great deal of effort into the interior decorating and the quality of art pieces selected to the adorn the walls is simply exquisite. It definitely adds to the overall experience of the venue. The bathrooms are unisex, however, there is a dedicated staff members manning the facility, dispensing paper towels and ensuring overall safety and hygiene of the bathrooms. With the great number of similar offerings along the famous Florida Road, choosing to spend your evening at AuthentiQ would be one of your best choices.

Good afternoon, i just wanted you to know you have a star waitress on your staff Thembeka is her name. I recently visited your restaurant/bar Authentiq on Fl Rd. i was impressed by the decor, music and overall ambiance. The menu gave us plenty of tasty options to explore and the Spirits list was on point....The service was great and Thembeka made my experience very pleasurable, as an American i wasn't familiar with certain traditional SA dishes and Thembeka was kind and patient to explain what the dishes consist of and even suggested certain plates i may want to try, needless to say she picked 3 winners!, the Pork Belly, Beef Short Ribs and Apple Crumb Cheese cake were delicious, kudos to the chef.... The food had a lot of flavor. Every dish we ordered did not disappoint. The chef really cooks with love. The prices on the menu are a bit steep,so come prepared to spend money(lol) The service from MC was nothing less of amazing. He was very attentive,friendly and respectful. The fact that the place is divided into a dining side and a clubbing side affected the atmosphere of the dining side because the music of the other side was too loud and would overpower the music on the dining side. Otherwise this place is worth your money, your time and your palet.

Went to dine there with a friend from out of town yesterday. The place is beautiful. But service was Terrible with a capital T. From waiting more than 15mins just for someone to come to our table..to the waitress coming with attitude,she did not even give her name. I waited for a burger for more than 1hour 30mins. To my friend's steak arriving cold. I had to cancel my food order and we paid the bill. We kept saying how disappointed we were with the bad service after looking forward to indulge. We left an hour before we had planned to leave . Maybe the bar area is better

If I could come to dinner here every week I would. This is a delayed review but when I was in Durban, a friend and I went to Authentiq for dinner. Ndu and his staff have an amazing thing going, here. The food is delicious, the staff was so friendly, and the vibes at the bar side of the restaurant? Immaculate. Such a brilliant idea of having the dining area, as well as the bar area. Gives the best of both worlds. Will definitely go back when I’m in town again.

The place has a nice vibe. When we went there it wasn’t full. Their seating arrangements are done differently according to each section. The place looks good overall, especially if you’re an aesthetic person. You get greeted at the entrance, taken to your seat and waiter comes by. Our drinks took a little longer than we anticipated, but they were good. They are clean. The toilets available are unisex. So please!!! Don’t get a heart attack.

Really bad service No one was there to greet and offer a table and had to stand until someone noticed us, The waiter took forever with the orders, once the food arrived I asked for water from the waiter and it never came, Overall I was really disappointed with the service they offer, the food was ok.

The set up of the restaurant is beautiful. However the service and the food could do with some improvement. The waiter had taken quite some time to take our order and bring the dessert menu. The wait to receive our meal was long, and to add to the disappointment the chicken was undercooked, pink and bloody. And the restaurant only had 3 tables seated, so it wasn’t even full. I hope these experiences aren’t common.

For us, we really had a great time everything was from the atmosphere, music, food and treatment.

This restaurant is exquisite!!! We had their date night deal and it was a 3-course meal that was to DIE for. All the courses were divine and there was bottomless Champaign, I mean...!? The decor is so well put together, they have amazing well curated art and the ambiance is so serene. They will stand the test of time!

Good food, good music and the most amazing cocktails ever! Whether you’re going for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the food is always amazing. Would definitely recommend going there.

A beautiful looking place but dissinterested staff. We sat down and despite there being very few customers it took 5 minutes for a waitress to take our order. 5 minutes later & there was no sign of a drink arriving. All the serving staff were chatting together on the street corner. More

The attached photo is of a R650 meat platter. I was extremely disappointed by the expensive cost of such a small platter and one that was mediocre in taste. I would not recommend this restaurant for dining, maybe come here for cocktails and pretty aesthetic of the place.

Little to no variety on the menu, everything that we ordered was out of stock which was quite disappointing considering it was month end weekend, however I really have to commend the service that we received from Sazi it was extremely great and he was quite helpful

What a comfortable venue. The wait staff are attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is inviting yet still warm and cozy. Food was delicious (get the Tanzanian muscles). Overall a great restaurant.

Good place, really chilled . But I've seen the vibe by the bar ,it is nice until the music stops to play another song . So i would suggest a DJ booth , i am a dj by profession and i would like to be the resident dj of the place .
