I would have given 5 stars if my car return experience didn't turn to lunacy. The pick up went very well with (I suppose) the agency manager and the lady who was with him. I came to this location because it's a walking distance from the place where I live. I had a great time driving with my wife to Austin and spend time with friends. This morning of February 26th, I planned to return the car at 10am as scheduled with Avis. A friend of mine proposed to come with me so he could give a quick drive to work. I didn't expect to wait more than 30 minutes to simply return a car and being treated as a crime suspect by Ana, the person who handled the situation very badly. I rented cars around the world and she just made the worst experience I ever have in my life. The car was returned with full gas and no damage whatsoever. After a quick tour of the car, Ana went in and suddenly claimed that someone smoked in the car and checked for ash traces all over. From that moment, common sense ran away from Ana. I was surely very surprised since I never smoked in my life and neither did my wife. She claimed there was one trace of ashes on the driver's door. I calmly told her that no one smoked in the car. I am very sensitive to cigarette smoke, which I cannot bear the smell, and told her it is not cigarette smoke she is smelling. Honestly, it was smelling the interior of a brand new car and maybe food. Cigarette smell is very specific, I sincerely don't know why she claimed it came from cigarettes. The trace on the door was certainly mud. Yes, it was raining in Austin during the weekend. But for Ana, it was cigarette smoke and didn't want to believe me as a customer. She said she will charge me because of the cigarette smoke (which was clearly not) and she has to check with her manager. Of course, my friend standing next to me couldn't believe his eyes. After talking to her manager (who I presume checked the car while I was waiting inside but didn't see him), she just handled me the receipt. And of course, she didn't charge me extra. It is not the fact that she had to check with her manager that pissed me off but the way she treated me as a suspect and assumed that I was a lying. My mother recently died from lung cancer and my wife works at md anderson cancer center. I am not a person who easily complain but I cannot let go the way Ana handled the situation here. If you're a smoker and read this comment, well good luck to rent a car at this location. As for me, I will never go back there.

I rented a Ford Transit for almost $1,000 and I called two separate times to make sure it was the vehicle they were going to rent me. I specified that I didn't want any other. The manager promised to give me the vehicle specifically. When I got there, the guy at the front was extremely rude and didn't care for what I had to say, the worst part of this is that I drove 40 minutes to this location because they had that specific vehicle even when had a bunch of Avis locations close to my house. I am now going to the airport to see if they can change it. If that's not enough, it gets worse when the conversion van has a check engine oil and change engine oil soon sign popping up on the dashboard. Horrible

My original pickup date for the reservation was July 31. When I reached the store to pickup my car, I was told they were sold out and there are no cars available. Hence the reliability of making a reservation and not being able to honor it is very disappointing. Additionally, the place closes at 1 pm on Saturday so the lady at the reception said she'll give me a call if a car comes today that she can rent out. And she called me back at around 12:50 pm asking me to come before 1 pm if I want the car today. She wasn't willing to wait some additional time for me to come and pickup the car so eventually I had to come on Sunday to pick the car.

My car rental experience have been nothing but Hard with Avis I have then multiple changes to correct there wrongs. 1out of 4 time was a good experience the other 3 times I was on the side on the road same day I pick car up and also have two flat tires on the side on of the road leaving me stranded on the side of the road for 4 hour. then not calling ahead to let the closet location no that I was coming in to get a new rental making me lose business and having me push back my business. They did not call to check to see if I was ok super disrespectful customer service

Kevin and his staff are always nice and professional. I have been renting from this location for years and I have not had 1 bad experience. Michelle is always smiling and greeting customers as we are family. Kevin is very nice and is always there to help and he knows a lot about the cars. The gas mileage, if it's a good highway car, just everything. I am a very satisfied customer for many, many years. I will continue to be a Avis customer. Thanks to Kevin and his staff.

Joyacelyn was wonderful and she was great at getting me into a vehicle when i was in a bind. I sat there and waited for cars to come in and when a car came in she made sure to get me right in it and check in was a breeze with my Preferred status. Kevin was great when I turned in the car. He was very understanding and listened when i was telling him what was going on with the car after it was driven cross country. I will definitely be using AVIS again!!!!!!

I am so upset I called this store several times and no answer and when someone finally did answer I ask all the specifics on payment method what is and not accepted the lady told me any type of visa master card etc was accepted I get to the store after I wrong for $30.00 for none of that to be true what a waste of time . Please train your employees to tell customer the precise and correct thing

Lots of locations, clean cars at pickup, roadside service is worth it. Notice the state plate you get so it's not so easy to identify you. "When in Rome", so ask for the state plate you're in. Sometimes more keys are out on the car you rent. Be mindful of how long and where you leave you're car unattended. Someone can easily access your belongings while filling up for gas, restroom, etc.

Kevin and his team at the NRG/Knight Rd location offer excellent service! I have rented from Kevin exclusively since 2014 (with the exception of 1 recent rental). I rent from this location 2-5x/year. The service is consistent, pleasant, and quick; cars are always available and clean; they answer the phone and return calls. I highly recommend this location without reservation.

Mrs Ana was very helpful in finding me a car. The car I reserved they didn't have. So she made it convenient for me to get another vehicle. Didn't take long at all. He and out. Same when got ready to drop off. Her customer service skills was on point.. Someone left DL she was right on it. I loved her energy. Thanks Mrs Ana.

This location I chose is always friendly, clean and professional. Going to the airport to pick up a car is difficult with long lines, tight spaces and difficulty with pickup. If scheduled in a timely manner the car of my choice is always on-site and the staff is friendly and willing to help.

No words can describe the service Kevin offers each and every time I need a vehicle. He knows my preference and knows that I’ll treat the vehicle with care and handle everything prior to pickup and/or drop off. Keep doing what you do as your customer service always exceeds what’s expected.

The front desk people I have dealt with at this location are professional and easy to deal with. It has been a pleasure working with them. I am in Houston for an extended period of time and they have just been great - Much better than any airport counter car rental people I've dealt with.

I rented a car to go out of town for family reunion, when they didn't have the car I selected online because my reservation was transferred to a Avis not near the airport, he put me in the smallest SUV that would accommodate my grandmothers wheelchair. Thank you for doing a great job.

This is my first time renting a car from this location and my last. Not only were the car seats dirty, but the gas tank was not filled and there was lighter in the car. It’s essential that these rental companies clean and sanitize their cars especially with a virus going around.

They're so professional and you get the best rate. I tried before with Enterprise next to this location and they tried to make me leave a deposit for the rental. So I went here and not only I got a really good price also I received discounts and just saved my day.

Rented from them twice, very nice each time. However the last time I didn't get the size car I booked because they only had one car available for a one way rental. Also one way rental is still too high, but that's with everyone.

Staff was friendly. Pick-up and drop-off of the vehicle was quick. I was upgraded to a larger vehicle because they did not have a car in the class that I had pre-paid for. The vehicle I was given was clean and practically new.

Cars are in a little rough shape. Smelled like dogs and smoke. Stunk really bad. Especially after sitting for hour then getting back in turning the hair back on and would smell all over again until the air ran a little...

Totally bull. Have rented through AVIS for years using a debit card with no issues. Go to pick up a car today to be informed my credit isn't good enough for them. I have to use a regular credit card.

My guy Kevin was awesome. His attitude just wants you to come back. He was courteous, informative, patient I'm 73 . I just really enjoyed the entire experience and he has a genuine sense of humor.

I made a reservation but had to cancel. I was told the xxln fee was the cost of a day's rental but their email said $150. I called and was told if I hadn't prepaid, there would have been no fee.

As always, AVIS took good care of me. I enjoyed their prompt friendly service, was surprised by an unexpected nice vehicle upgrade. It was overall a great value, I just couldn’t ask for more!

My vehicle weren't quite ready, although, I was given an upgrade as a replacement. I had pre-order insurance through Travelodge and was not being hassled. The process went very smoothly.

Charged a fuel surcharge even after the car was just filled up. Also charged a one way fee when they told me I wouldn’t be charged that. The interior of the car was filthy.
