"BSides is probably the safest little punk dive bar you can go to"
"B-Side is one of my favorite bars on the east side of Portland and I even would go so far to say that its one of the most underrated bars in the city"
"I came with a group of people and we spent several hours there and I was designated driver and the we're so happy that I was a designated driver and they make the best drinks alcoholic or non alcoholic"
"Best dive bar in town"
"This is an exceptionally chill place"
BSides is probably the safest little punk dive bar you can go to. The bartenders are always friendly & keeping tabs on their patrons (in a good way!). It doesn't smell like piss whilst still having that grungy nostalgic feel. You can live on the patio all night. Get some pizza from sizzle pie next door to refuel. Def a fav haunt.
B-Side is one of my favorite bars on the east side of Portland and I even would go so far to say that its one of the most underrated bars in the city. It definitely has a divey but cool vibe that appeals more to the rocker types. The drinks are affordable and the staff don't mind if you bring pizza from neighboring Sizzle Pie.
I came with a group of people and we spent several hours there and I was designated driver and the we're so happy that I was a designated driver and they make the best drinks alcoholic or non alcoholic. I highly suggest this place if you're looking for a good dive bar to go to with a good pizza place next door
Best dive bar in town. Proof in action that simple concepts executed well provide the most enjoyable atmosphere. The bartenders include amazingly talented artists and musicians. The supply of punk and metal deep cuts is never ending. Come for the $1 Oly's and healthily poured whiskey, stay for the people.
This is an exceptionally chill place. Has a little patio out back. Good people and good environment. It's nice that they allow you to bring pizza over from sizzle pie. I was around it for a while and never went in. Some friends brought me there after trivia night. I really enjoyed myself.
Great tunes, brilliant art, amazing bartender (Nina), crazy cheap beer ($1 for a can of Olympia), & a great back patio makes for THE best bar! And with Sizzle Pie next door for slices! Thanks B Side for restoring my faith in well run bars. You've got a new regular!
B-Side is easily a Portland staple for any and all looking for a healthy dose if sub-culture interaction. The establishment suffered a two year closure due to arson but we as a community are overjoyed to have it back, with the patio now open again as well!
maybe staff was having a bad day but the bartender was too busy complaining to the people sitting at the bar to serve us. after several minutes and attempts to get her attention we just joined the party next door instead. music wasn’t our vibe anyway More
Glad to see they're back up & running. One of my favorite bars in town. Outside smoking area is as comfortable as they come. Clientele is eclectic & engaging. Tenders are exceptional. Look for hilarious graffiti & drink cheap beer during happy hour.
Much warmer, cozier, and friendlier than the outside world. Its hard to leave sometimes. Outdoor heated smokable area, no good food but there are options very close. No tvs above the bar or unwarranted surlyness.Tops for fine art and atmosphere.
great prices but marissa is by far the worst bartender ive ever had in my life. she is INCREDIBLY rude and clearly has worked here or as a bartender too long. has a huge chip on her shoulder. very rude and disrespectful to nearly everyone
If you are into the 'dive bar', this gem this is the place for you. The bartender knows the 'regulars' drinks without asking and will strike up a great conversation with any newcomers, highly recommend for a down to earth place. We always
2014 Red Fang’s drummer wore a B Side shirt on Letterman. That should tell you everything. A true Portland dive bar gem. Metal/Punk/90’s on the Jukebox. 1$ Olys for the working class. Heated Patio. Sizzle Pie welcome. Locals, Drifters,
The placed seemed alright. On the night of 10/10/19 at 10:45 the bar tender totally went 180. We had a mishap when a drink (full) got spilled. 3 of the 4 if us asked her for a towel accumulative 5-6 times and she eventually Turned and
This place has the potential to be great but it's falling short on so many levels. My biggest problem with this place is all the absurd rules they have. The bartender acted like she was too cool to serve us and when I tried to order
It was a mellow Saturday afternoon and I enjoyed the ambience and the music being played. Granted, I'm about 35 years too old to be in this place, but I was the ONLY one inside this place. Most were outside in the parklet.
If you're a metalhead, this is the best place to go for drinks after a show at nearby Bossanova Ballroom. Lots of fun, great atmosphere, cool stuff like x-rays of bones if you look under the lights over the bar.
To walk by a place that would openly embrace the sense of whats wrong with modern society disgusts me to the bone! Down with Santa but "Satan is always welcome" .... what is wrong with this picture? A LOT!
Proof of vaccination at the end of the pandemic when there's already an announcement about the end of the mask mandate? And the bartender wasn't very pleasant. Two stars is generous. Music sucks too.
Way awesome of a place. I'm glad it is back in business. The music could be a tad less loud on the patio and they need a flavor of white claw that is not cherry. I love this spot a lot tho …
Everyone there laughed at me for being straight and liking capitalism. You should probably stay away if you aren't some kind of super interesting punk that likes pbr and being unique. More
I went for the irony of drinking at a bar that used to be an AA meeting place. Friendly staff, pinball machines, and a cool backyard/patio. my only complaint is that it was pretty Bro-ey.
One of the few dive bars left in Portland. Dollar Olympia beer happy hour. Still smells like smoke despite more than a decade since the ban. Loud heavy metal. What more could you ask for?
Neighborhood punkish bar. I've never had any food at this place, but the drinks are priced well. They have about 4 pinball tables and a awesome covered patio. Service is always quick.
I miss the pinball (from before the fire) but B side is still one of the most accepting comfortable spaces in town. Please hold onto the important pieces of what makes this bar great!
great vibes, great prices. :) the bartenders and bouncers are all super nice and make you feel very welcome! only been here twice but i think it’s gonna be my new regular spot. More
Great diversity, casual atmosphere, fantastic smoking area, Carissa - the bartender, was super charming & darling, and the restroom graffiti was awesomely weird - even for PDX.
Solid 4.5, staff was great, ambience really good, drinks excellent. Bit rough on the acoustics for my autistic posterior though, but that is expected. Highly recommend
Decent spot, kinda hole in the wall vibe. They have a $5 minimum on cards, doesn’t effect most patrons but good to know if you’re low on funds and just want A beer.
It a cool dive with a I patio for smoking. Even if it's not your local dive it still feels like it when you walk in. Plus $1 Rainer. Drunk all night for that price.
Went in on a busy night the bartender was very rude from the beginning. If you want far right, self entitled, tribal Portland vibe then you might have a good time.
I need to speak to the owner of this establishment but there is no way to contact. A bar manager last night attacked my friend and needs to be fired immediately.
shhhhh. best (and most stridently feminist) dive bar in PDX. there's crazy folk you meet here. lovely bartenders. clean lines. good (non bullshitty) beer.
I come here after I start to slow down at 45 east. This place is a nice mellow vibe when you want to take it easy on a late night weekend evening. More
Fun, dark themed bar. Borderline goth/punk, so you def don't go for the food. You go for good drinks and heated outdoor seating with your buddies.
The bartenders are really friendly and great! One the best places in the area to stop in for a drink before heading to the nearby clubs or shows!
I love this place it's great my mom used to work there so it's always had a special place in my heart but right on the river can't beat it
I have my prayer group here every week so I can show my sisters in Christ what sinners look like. The patio is warm and cozy too. More
Classic Portland dive with cheap drinks, outdoor seating, and Sizzle Pie next door so you can get a slice & soak up the booze.
Great to see this bar re-open after the fire!!! It’s almost like they never were closed. One of my favorite bars in Portland.
this place is a great “hole in the wall” bar. staff is always kind, place is always kept and very chill with an outdoor area
It was a great experience to be present during the DJ event. The employees were very tentative and friendly. More
