Encourage artists to lie on insurance so they don't have to pay import tax on work, no assistance with postage, no compensation for lost or damaged works. Edit in response to reply: £100 value for paintings that cost more than that to make and are collectively over £6000, plus saying that the artworks are only for exhibition and not for sale, when they are clearly exhibited for sale, with prices displayed next to them and online, is lying about the insurance value and purpose of goods to avoid import tax. I didn't say a work was damaged, I said one of them was lost when sending it to you, and I received no compensation. If the works that have been sent back to me go missing too, I will received a total of £100 if I followed your advise. Yes galleries with big open calls such as the RA do not pick up the work for you, but independent smaller galleries such as the BBA always do in my experience. £15 a day is nonsense, this does not exist. Also worth noting that most artists in the RA are UK based, they aren't paying £700+ to exhibit their work.
Outstanding artist run gallery that specializes in contemporary art. Being artist themselves, they are very tapped into “the zeitgeist” with their exhibitions and their selection of high quality artworks. I had the pleasure to be shortlisted for their BBA Photography Prize and be part of their exhibitions twice. Meeting this amazing team that is running this beautiful gallery was very inspiring. The supportive staff is equally amazing. They are the nicest gallery holders I’ve ever met and they are both very knowledgeable and supportive for their represented artists. It might be well worth to add one of their artworks to your collection, as they have a nose for a new generation of international artistic talent. If there is one gallery I would like to be represented by it is theirs. Make sure you pay a visit when you are in Berlin.
I participated in the exhibition through the bba Artist Prize organised by bba Gallery. The exhibition ran for two weeks at Kühlhaus berlin and I had a great experience in this centrally located space in Berlin. I think I made a step forward as an artist by taking part in this event. I would like to thank the gallery for giving me this wonderful opportunity.
I’ve heard that Berlin has a vibrant art scene, and I was eager to see and experience it for myself. But it was BBA Gallery that was exhibiting the most impressive work I saw. Moreover, the staff is well-informed, helpful, and friendly. Their expertise and curation should be a model for all art galleries.
BBA Gallery has an amazing staff that made me feel valued as an artist. It was a real honor to be part of their Artist prize, and their exhibitions in a stunning space showcased a fantastic mix of talent. They're really dedicated to supporting the arts, and that's what makes them stand out.
It takes courage and immense effort to run a gallery. This one should be on anyones agenda. The current show, Giulietta Coates, is exceptional. Investors and art lovers should beat a path to the door.
I presented my work here. When I remotely set up my work, I received so much help from gallery. Luckily I see my work in person finally! It’s perfect…. BBA is truly professional and warm.
Great gallery with kind staff and an amazing selection of work. Was there during the Jens Juul exhibition which was very well curated and presented. Highly recommended.
Stunning exhibition of Giulietta Coates’ wood-mounted photographs ‘Beyond Solitude’ at the beautiful BBA gallery. Excellent artist talk. Highly recommend.
