I had a very bad experience working with real estate agent and here is my story to share with you! As a first time seller who sells a house I tried selling my house with Purple Bricks who charge fixed commission on the sell side and I was paying 2.5 commission to the buyer's agent. After a few weeks I realized that agents are not willing to deal with PP as they see PP a threat to their business. After following up with the agents I realized that they change their client's mind by telling something negative about the house and the clients they accept because they trust their agents! Unfortunately they don't work for the best of their clients interests but only their own benefit!!! However, There were also very very good agents but very very few of them! Then I realized that I have to list my house with a traditional real estate. Matt approached me to sell my house. I was planning to move from Oakville to York region. Matt told me you'd better list your house with a local agent who knows the local market and I accepted and trusted him. He was not supposed to help me to buy a house as he was not willing to work in that region because he was not familiar with that area. My Plan was to first sell and then buy. I told this to Matt and he said Ok. I finally sold the house. I didn't like his service as he was not a good negotiator! At the moment when I sold the market jumped a lot and I was not able to find a house in such a low inventory market. I was SOO stressed out and wasn't able to sleep at nights! The prices were increasing day to day with very limited chance to find something in super low inventory market during Covid-19 pandemic! I was selling my house in a strong seller's market and I did not know I am putting myself in a big risk to sell the house first. I was not aware exactly how the market was shifting during Covid time. Unfortunately, Matt he did not advise me either but focusing to sell calling me multiple times to bring down the price for a fast sell! I expected as an experienced agent who should've been aware about the market to advise his clients accordingly. I know there are always risks involved in real estate transaction, But we want to take less risks! Matt, did not advise me to buy first before selling my house and his focus was only to sell very fast because there was no benefit for him on buying side of this transaction! Unfortunately, he didn't care about me at all as if he is selling his own house but caring about his own benefit! He did not advise me to buy first because there was no benefit for him on the buy side of the transaction it's why he did not care are all. I am leaving my house sadly with all bad experience losing hundreds of thousands dollars and super unhappy and disappointed from the way this agent guided me through this important transaction! whose focus was just on his own benefit not his client.

My wife and I recently moved from Toronto to Burlington and partnered with Matt to help us find our first home and sell our downtown condo. He brought his team in for staging, prepared beautiful marketing material, and physically showed rolled up his sleeves and help to get the condo listed -moving furniture, hanging decor, taking items out of the condo, etc. This really impressed me and I was grateful for his diligence and help. Being first time sellers, we wanted over communication. Matt did just that and kept us up to date on showings, feedback from potential buyers, and his thoughts daily. Our condo listed 1 week before social distancing measures were implemented by the government. We were stressed because we knew COVID was a serious issue and naturally were concerned it would add risk to our sale. Matt again was super helpful and reassuring. He laid on a contingency plan for our “worst case” and kept working hard to ensure our condo was sold and for the best price. The result. We sold our condo in less than 1 week for over asking leading up to COVID pandemic. We’re grateful to have Matt was our agent and would highly recommend him as a trustworthy, professional and caring individual.
