Fantastic beginners disc golf course. The layout has been altered to red baskets making the course easier than it was previously. Now the course is all 200 to 300 foot shots. If you are an intermediate to advanced disc golfer this will be a course to practice approach shots on. On the silver layout it has a wider variety of holes. This is a well played course so expect many other golfers. The average play time for 18 holes is 1.5 hours, 2 hours if it is busy. This is also an active picnic park so expect some bystanders here and there. Before 9 am the course has very few people on it. There is also an active glow disc golf league so this is probably the best night course to play on it Calgary.
Playground
No playground
Restrooms
There is one large public restroom beside the parking lot.
Dog-friendliness
Friendly yes but not off-leash
Picnic area
Very popular picnic park. Not many tables though so alot of people bring their own tables and chairs.

Beautiful park with lots of green space. Right on the banks of the Bow River, this park offers a lot of well maintained green spaces with many picnic benches, a disc golf course, bookable outdoor wedding venues, and a boat launch. There is a large parking lot on the East side, and a smaller one near the boat launch to the West. Adjacent to Bowness Park, there is a long loop of walking/biking trail that crosses the river in a few spots connecting both sides. There are garbage bins, bathrooms, and plenty of benches to be found.
Playground
None at this park.
Restrooms
Closed in the off season.
Dog-friendliness
Dogs are welcome, must be on leash.
Picnic area
Several picnic areas.

Heard so much about this park but never had a chance until now to visit and explore. Normally I would walk around Bowness Park. I was in for big surprise to discover this place. The place is beautiful, clean and lots of well kept grassy area. The walking path are well laid out connecting to Bowness Park on one of the footbridges. There's even a Frisbee golf course to play on, well kept as well and with the right amount of trees and other Hazzard to make it challenging. I'm definitely going back to play a round with my boys. We usually play in Inglewood's Pearce Estate Park for Frisbee golf but Baker park is way better.

Great park to take your pet near the river. Great scenery and a great atmosphere. Unfortunate for us, our vehicle was broken into (passenger windows smashed) in order to take valuables (not in plain sight) from our car. It's not first time we hear about this happening at baker park, and more unfortunate no one is doing anything about it. We phoned police, park staff and it seemed to be noticed but not taken into action to avoid this from continuance. Beautiful park, but you must be extra careful not to leave anything you'd want to consider being stolen. Seems like someone is vigilent in that area.

Baker is a really attractive day use park on the north side of the Bow river, directly across from Bowness park. It has an 18 hole disc golf course, many attractive paved pathways and some great picnic tables and benches. Parking is a little limited for weekend visits but there is quite a bit of traffic flow so spots open up quite regularly. It is less busy than Bowness park so it’s a better option for a quiet stroll or lunch by the river. It can feel a little isolated late in the evening but the visitors to the park are usually relaxed and easy going. Great place to visit almost any time.

  • Radu Luchian

Nice West park along the Bow River. We come often, either passing by on the bike paths, or to play disc golf or to launch our inflatable boat for a day of rafting downriver.
Restrooms
Restrooms are available to the immediate West of the main parking lot
Dog-friendliness
lots of dogs, most on leashes, many splashing along the river "rocky beaches", plenty of places to drop poop bags
Picnic area
picnic areas all over the park, some with tables other with bbq pits. We just eat pastries and such, recently from the Sweet Home Bakery 10 min away by bicycle to the South.

I had an incredible experience visiting Baker Park yesterday with my friends. Despite living in Calgary for nearly two decades, it's astonishing that I had never been here before. The park may not be as expansive as others, but its stunning river view more than makes up for it. Whether it's a refreshing morning stroll or a relaxing evening walk, Baker Park proves to be an amazing choice. The serene ambiance and captivating scenery make it a hidden gem for locals and visitors alike.

Several attractions: frisbee disc golf, scenic spots for social gatherings and wedding photos with riverside background, picturesque walks, picnic tables, good washrooms and ample parking. Informative plaques illustrate and describe its history before it was a public park. There is a big boat ramp at the west end with additional parking for boat trailers. The Rotary Mattamy Greenway passes through for walkers and cyclists.

  • Carrie Paxson (Carrie)

I went to Baker’s Park for a work function where we played disc golf and had a catered lunch. This was the first time I had been and overall, I am impressed. The park was perfectly manicured, clean, and there was ample parking. The park was so huge, there was plenty of room for everything the 50 people in attendance wanted to do. most impressive was the clean restrooms and diabetic sharpie containers. Well done!

  • Donald hood

I was here for a friends wedding sometime ago. This park is very beautiful with great view of the river and for photos. It also looks like a grate place for a walk bike or run by the river with not much traffic other than our group. There is tuns of space here for pretty much any thing from just sitting and enjoying the view to having fun with your friends and family throwing a ball around or more

  • Shiuli Bawa

Serene and peaceful. The washrooms were clean and well-kept. Dont forget to try out some frisbee golf. And stay away from open spaces in the areas where others may be tossing a frisbee. Best time to go is early afternoon when it's less crowded and parking is easily available. There are no playgrounds for kids in this park but the trails lead to Bowness Park, which is convenient.

  • Jeff Stewart

Spent the morning at Baker Park on the Disk Golf Course. This course is real nice. Played the front 9. It is well marked out and set up with lights on the baskets for evening play. Quite a few other people out enjoying it, but not enough to make it busy. The park is situated along side the Bow river. There are lots of walking trails and good vantage points to snap a picture.

  • Flairs Warss

A hidden gem of a park right off Stoney Trail and a great spot with the family to visit many open shade spots to set up your lunch spot. Great pathways to visit alongside the river.
Restrooms
Washrooms near the parking 2 mins walk from the entrance.
Picnic area
Open areas to have a picnics with trees to provide shade on a hot summer day.

  • Tony Wirth

Great park, love the Disc golf course, which was recently updated with new baskets and a new layout! The park looks best in Autumn, great time and place for family Christmas photo shoots. The map located on the park as well as the info signs desperately need updating and are the only thing stopping me from giving baker a 5/5. Great park though.

  • Michael J. Reed

A wonderful path to follow. Asphalt covered, and only a few steep areas that may require some short effort. The path is busy on nice days, so the main parking lot becomes congested rapidly. Alternative parking can be found near the western side of the park, near the boat launch. Both sides of the path connect across the river to Bowness Park.

  • Dean Jones

My wife and I went for an early morning walk in the Park. It was quiet and everyone we ran into wished us a good morning. There were two people playing Frisbee Golf on the course which I understand to be quite good. We will be returning tomorrow for future walks or to play Bocci ball. A great park to spend some time alone or with family.

  • Russell Sherman

Huge park with a ton of space for activities. There's a permanent 18 hole disc golf course as well as 3 horseshoes pits. It's a great park for large games of capture the flag or a little game of bocce. In the summer it is a very popular park for launching boats into the river so be sure to arrive early to ensure you can find parking.

  • Obaid Hanafi

Baker Park and Bowness park are opposite each other on two sides of Bow River. There are two Bridges allowing pedestrians to walk around the river through two parks. Parking in each park. Visit both parks in one trip. See my review on Bowness park for details and pics. No entry fee no parking fee. Bring your own drinks and snacks.

  • Rahul Kumar

Beautiful small park. Much smaller and less well known than the bowness park across the river. That means less crowded than bowness park. Good a a short walk or social gathering. There is no access to river, except boat/raft launch from the western end of park. You can also get rafts on rent over there. Park has disk golf though.

  • Rachel Ali

We went for a friend's wedding photos and they turned out beautifully. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the park is exceptionally maintained. There were all sorts of groups present, but no one was in each other's way looking for a "good spot" because the entire place is a great spot! Haha will definitely be back

  • Jeffrey Ma

This is a great place to bring your dog and kids. On one side there is a dog park to let your pup run off leash and on the other side there is a good sized playground for young kids. The available washroom/change rooms were also clean. However there is no change table in the washroom/change room for diaper changes.

  • Evan Z

Just our go-to place in the city especially when we could not think of other parks. It is connected to Bowness park by a well-maintained trail. We used to have a one-hour-ish hiking. The park provides large area and amenties for bbq and frisby. Pet-friendly but dogs must be kept on leash all the time.

  • Savage woodworker

Really nice park to head out for a walk either direction on the bow. They have frisbee golf and a nice flower section. Good spot to dip your toes in the river if your brave enough. Current is pretty strong. Bowness park is right on the other side. Better for young kods over there with lots of parks.

  • Brian Magill

Baker park is a beautiful area to sit and relax or have a picnic. It is also a space selected for momentous events like grad and wedding photos. There's also a really nice frisbee golf course located here that is well sheltered from the wind by the lines of trees planted along the perimeter.

  • Mar Mann

Gorgeous this time of year. Lots of parking most days. But on really busy day, cars are lined up on the street coming into the parking lot. Lots of wedding party's go here for pictures. There is a train track near by, that is how we get our kids to come. There is also a disc golf course.

  • andrew Hoard

This is a great park but I can tell you honestly it is haunted. This Mist was taken a photo of later in the evening when it was quite warm and it popped up all the sudden. It was not near the river it was up on the trail. This is a gorgeous Park but it should be treated with respect.

  • zamacity61

Another of my favourite Calgary parks, situated across the Bow River from the more well-known Bowness park, this little wonder has fantastic paths and trees. Super place for a walk, combined with Bowness it makes for a nice stroll with a picnic area at the end.. Or the beginning!

  • Gail Janjua

Beautiful, clean and a well spaced out area. I may have missed spots that you could be closer to the water or be on the edge, as we ended up on a side where you couldn't really just dip your feet in. But it's a beautiful park for pictures, bbqs and having group get together.

  • Md Shihabul Ahashan

Amazing park! Lot of parking spots available. Easily accessible from parking spot. you can enjoy scenic view of sunset from here. you can enjoy the beautiful Bow river from here.

Beautiful park in NW Calgary. Has ample parking both in the lots and along the entrance road for overflow. Extensive paved trails to walk, picnic area, views of the river, a frisbee golf course too. Connects to Bowness Park for a 45min walking loop along the river.

  • chad babuk

Nice place along the river. Has river access, year round bathrooms, parking, frisbee golf and gets the afternoon sun. You can integrate Bowness park into a walk by crossing the bridges at either end. There are some geese that hang around and the paths can get icy.

  • Nicole Flottmann

Very nice place to go on a walk, run or just hang out with beloved ones. Enjoy the beautiful view on the bow river make some stone hopping into it have a nice picnic there are also a few nice photo spots you will not regret it to go there have a beatiful day ;-)))

  • Brian Lee

Fun disc golf course! Easy to play with some technical bits to keep things interesting. There is a bathroom facility there no need to use the bushes! Soon there will be the red tees to use to keep the park environmentally sustainable. Still a fun course to play!

  • Shabana Shaik

Beautiful park. Lot of benches for picnics. Trails are good for walking n biking. Many do fishing n boating. Lot of space for parking is available. One can spend a full day here in the park soaking in the Sun. Sparkling water in the Sun is a beauty to watch.

  • Hussein Al

Very nice, medium size park right on Bow river across from Bowness park. Very clean and relatively quiet and not crowded most of the time. It has Walking and biking trail, seatings and picnic areas. You can launch your floating boat or board from it.

  • Ryan Brown

Fantastic well kept up and landscaped park. This rivals places like the Lethbridge Japanese Gardens, and its a free public park. I was really impressed visiting from (further south) Southern Alberta and played the disc golf course which was

  • Andrew Wall

Beautiful park almost all year round! Got a great disc golf course that is challenging and diverse which keeps it interesting going on two years now! It's got tree cooridoors, long drives and a good selection of technical fairways. Fun!

Beautiful with decent parking and lots of connecting paths! Also much more calming than the other parks calagry has to offer Would recommend Hoping to see a little Cafe or maybe some street food down that way this summer lol

  • Dougie Mueller

Very good course, decent layout. Bring a bag and keep your garbage please! there isn't much for trash bins around. And it can be quite busy most of the time, common courtesy with disc golf etiquette needs to be practiced here!

  • Neha Maheshwari

Very Serene setting, lots of greenery, kids had a lot of fun ..the beautiful bow river provides the perfect photo spot.. we met the twin bears and enjoyed a fun filled picnic..played lots of games..would love to visit again.

Living here for so many years I never really took the time to experience Baker Park before. What a great place to relax for an afternoon. I'm sure over weekends this park is full but weekdays was great to experience.

  • Ashleigh McNear

We are so fortunate to have these bike pathways in Calgary along the Bow River. Incredible beauty everywhere.
Picnic area
There are a few well spaced tables in shady areas among the trees. Beautiful area.

  • Ilona

It is an interesting park to have beautiful wedding pictures. However, the good time is to come in the morning time when there are fewer people, and not so hot outside. I personally like this park and its view.

  • Bob Kizlyk

It's a great place to start your walk around the loop through Bowness Park. It gets more crowded with the warmer weather. Then you get a lot of conflicts with the many cyclists also riding on the walking paths.

  • Kristi Keller

Beautiful place to go for a dog walk. Pathways and grassy areas are well maintained, and this park is much less populated than Bowness Park right across the river.
Dog-friendliness
On leash only.

  • Taylor Jeffels
