I cannot sing the praises louder than this: they are AMAZING! From the moment you enter the office you will know you are in a very welcoming place. This is no cold, white, sterile office. This is a warm, welcoming practice. The gals at reception/check out are friendly, cheerful, efficient, and caring. Hygienists are invested in your dental health and strive to establish a rapport with their patients. Dental assistants are kind and ensure you are ready for your procedures and are helpful after procedures are over. BUT...no review would be complete without discussing Dr. Larry Lindsay.  I wish I knew what took me so long to move completely to this office! He has a very kind chair side manner, is not judgmental of any poor dental choices you may have made in your youth, and very patiently and clearly explains what your dental issues are and the treatment options.  He has never pushed me into expensive treatments--I've always had treatment plans with options and solid recommendations. Like much of the population, I don't look forward to going to the dentist, but when I go here, even if I'm getting a filling or root canal, my blood pressure stays low. They have such a calm, peaceful (well, except for dental sounds!), environment. I'm greeted so warmly it disarms any apprehension. I highly recommend Balcones Dental!

I tell these pros every time I have an appt how much I appreciate them and I hope they hear me. They really do make a difference to a person like me who has high anxiety about dental appts of any kind. I have a small mouth (joking aside) and I am super sensitive to dental-anything. I had been flailing around at "good-enough" dental practices for over 10 years before the blessed day I tried Balcones' discount program in order to have extra cleaning not tied to my insurance. WOW. What a difference! So much so that I switched my insurance plan asap just so I could enroll there. The hygienists (Michelle and Jamie) are the BEST and the office staff have been considerate and efficient as well as just plain nice. Everyone there impresses me with their kind attitudes and knowledge of their jobs. I almost don't even dread going to the dentist any more. LOL. Miracle! (thanks for convincing me to finally get the bite-guard. I love it, it is changing my life) Y'all are awesome.

I've been going to this practice for a few years now and I could not be happier with the level of care they provide. The staff are friendly and welcoming and accommodating and i cannot sing their praises high enough. They're the first dental practice I've been to that i haven't l felt fearmongered into getting expensive procedures. They're always extremely transparent about what options you have and the time you can take before getting more expensive procedures done before you are likely to see things get worse and i really appreciate that degree of empathy and expertise. They also offer their own payment/insurance plan for patients that might not already have dental insurance. They really do care a lot for their patients and I'll be going to this practice for all my dental needs for as long as possible.

Went there as a new patient. I liked the office and the people were very nice, I was excited I found a nice new dentist office. I guess since the place is so nice they have to charge people for work they do not need. They told me I needed 5 cavities filled, and maybe some caps but wont know until they are in there (which would be more money). At my last 6 months check up with my regular dentist everything was fine and had nothing wrong. I knew 5 cavities could not pop up so quickly. I went today to get a second opinion from another dentist and they said everything was fine. No need to get any work done, just like I thought. Its really sad when people try to take advantage of new patients. Definitely will not be back. I saved myself $1300 and unnecessary work by getting a second opinion.

I went for an exam and x-rays. I have multiple issues and I was happy with the treatment plan presented to me by Dr. Johnson. He explained in depth what he felt the priorities were and gave a couple of different scenarios based on finances. I really can't say if the prices are reasonable not knowing what is usual but I definitely felt a concern to not perform work not needed. I plan to follow through and will update on the services provided. He is quite personable and invested. I had quite a few x-rays taken. Panaramic and what I think are called bitewing. Please forgive me if I'm mistaken. What I did like was the pictures taken using a pen. Loved the young woman who took the xrays. Wish I remembered her name. Dark hair, small and pretty.

An excellent experience with all involved. Scheduling was a breeze once I called their office. (Two online messages that I sent to them never got through to the right person.) The front office staff is exceptionally friendly when you check in. (And if you do the very minimal paperwork online before you come, all you need to do is literally tell them you're there.) My hygienist, Michell, was exceptionally patient, kind, and thorough with my exam and cleaning. And I'm definitely a fan of Dr. Lindsay. He's warm, experienced, and very practical in his approaches. I definitely felt as if the entire practice cared about me and that I wasn't just another number in a large dental practice.

They are so amazing! I’ve never felt as comfortable at a dentists office as I do there. They always explain things so thoroughly before doing anything. Not just some, but the entire staff is wonderful!!! Always so kind!!! My daughter chipped one of her front teeth, which as you can imagine was pretty traumatic. It happened at 6:30 in the morning and I called thinking I would have to leave a message but Ms Lisa answered and even though they had a completely full schedule they found the time to work her in! They turned what could’ve been a horrible experience into some thing positive. She now can’t wait to go back to the dentist ❤️ We just love them!!!

I grew up with the best dentist ever and then he retired. So I've been trying to find the right dentist since then and have visited several other places in Austin. I met this group at a networking event and really fell in love with the people. Then I visited the place to leave some goodies and same thing--everyone was wonderful! So today I went for a cleaning and it reminds me of my old dentist. They were VERY thorough, seemed to really care and didn't try to sell me stuff I know I don't need. Every other place I've been has done this since my former dentist. I look forward to returning in 3 months and will plan to go every 4-6 months after that!

I only had a consultation exam so far, so I can’t speak for the actual work yet. Everyone is so amazing, from the front desk staff to Dr. Lindsay. I have extreme fear of all things dental related but they were so patient and talked me through every step, making sure I was comfortable. They are caring and courteous. I am waiting for Dr. Lindsey to come up with a treatment plan for me right now so also can’t speak to the pricing. However, this is the first time in my life I am actually looking forward to going to the dentist. I never thought I would say that after having 40 years of bad experiences. Highly recommend this practice!

Balcones Dental is the first dentist I enjoy going to. The staff is very nice and friendly. They always make sure you are comfortable and understand the everything before any procedure. I appreciate that they take the time to answer any and all my questions. Quelling any concerns I may have had about the procedure. Unfortunately due to neglect and fears of the dentist, I have had to do a lot of corrective work. But I am very happy I did it with Balcones and I recommend them every chance I get. Dr. Lindsay and his staff are the most friendly and professional in the Austin area. Wait times are very low and if there’s an emergency surgery that would delay your appointment, they will call you to let you know so that you are not waiting as long or to reschedule if need be. I’ve been a patient for over two years and I am extremely thankful for everyone there. They are truly like a family to me and always seem to remember my name every 6 months. I don’t normally give 5 star ratings unless it’s well deserved and they earned every star!

Amazing staff! As a pretty nervous patient they always made sure to make me as comfortable as possible. When I had questions or even little concerns, they always made time to see me or explain to me what was going on. They knew me/called me by name from the moment I walked into the door, and has even talked with my family though a procedure I was having that took longer than expected. The entire experience has made me feel super comfortable walking through the doors next time knowing I’ll be taken care of when I leave! See you all soon!

I was visiting from out of state and pulled a veneer. My DIL suggested Balcones as she had just moved to Austin from NYC. Called at 7:00 am and got an appointment at 11:50, everyone in the office could not have been nicer and more accommodating. When seeing Dr. Lindsay he listened and understood my issue, told me the game plan then fixed my veneer in 20 minutes. Mia was a very nice person who assisted and was a great conversationalist. Dr. Lindsay picks out all the music in the office , a great mix. Go there if you live in Austin.

I recently tried another dentist, because I moved and Balcones was no longer the most convenient. However, after one bad experience, I decided the drive was worth it. I have anxiety, and No matter who i encounter at Balcones(and I’ve seen both dentists and at least 3 dental hygienists) I am comforted and made to feel very special. They are patient, explain everything clearly, and don’t make me feel silly for being an adult who is probably more uncomfortable than many child patients they see. I really do love the people here.

They were running by about 30 minutes for my appointment and called me to let me know so that I didn't show up on time and have to sit in the waiting room. I was able to get some things done in that time at the office. This is the first time I have ever had this happen for an appointment anywhere and it was great that they were considerate of my time. I can also say that this is the first time that they were not on time. Great staff, dental hygenists and dentists. You will not be disappointed if you choose to go there.

Moved to Austin 10 years ago, needed a dentist, heard a spot on the radio and that was that...the most amazing, compassionate, friendly people, and Dr. Lindsay should be TEACHING bedside manner in addition to practicing it, because the man has mad skills...I won't go so far as to say I can't wait until the next time I get to go to the dentist, but I will say that I don't dread dentist appointments like I used to in California...once you get a little taste of Balcones Dental, I have no doubt you'll feel the same way.

I have been going to Balcones dental for about three years, and I’ve never had a negative experience there. Part of the reason why I like this place is that they don’t try to upsell you on things Like whiteners and Invisalign. However, if you ask about those things they’re willing to talk to you about them. They don’t pressure you to do unnecessary dental work. The staff is always been polite and easy to communicate with. I'm the person that hadn't seen a dentist in way too long and then was forced to go somewhere because I was in PAIN. My first experience at Balcones Dental was great from start to finish. I had super high anxiety going in. Within 10 minutes I was feeling comfortable and ready to move forward with whatever is needed due to my poor dental decisions. They were caring, understanding and empathetic which is exactly what I needed because I'm a big "go to the dentist" baby! I couldn't be happier with my decision.

At first I was very nervous, but the front desk was very nice. I had filled out the paperwork via computer so was all set to go. They double checked my insurance and I'm covered for two cleanings a year. Michelle, the hygentist, was super friendly and supportive. Dr Johnson was also very kind and friendly. I had services performed at Balcones Dental and the staff was awesome they paid attention to my needs they heard my needs! I had a bad experience some years ago at traumatic experience and they assured me that I was going to be fine and they were absolutely correct! I love my niece Shanita who is a former employee there for pointing me in the right direction to have my services done there and I am so grateful! I'm an anxious patient and I needed help quickly for a broken tooth after another practice bailed on me. I lost a front tooth and had to bring a flipper into them. They got me in within three day days and had the BEST beside manner I have experienced. A few days later they did the extraction and bone graft and fitted the flipper. This place is very clean. Everyone was very very friendly with no shaming of dental health Plus cool music like Dwight Yoakam totes brought my stress down.

I work right down the hall from them. Everyone there is super nice and helpful. I am having pain from a wisdom tooth growing in and wanted to make sure everything was okay. They were so generous to get me in sooner than my scheduled appointment because I couldn't deal with the pain anymore. All the ladies at the front are just so amazing and Emily who did my exam was down to earth and made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Johnson was wonderful and helpful. Fantastic office to go to !

I absolutely love the staff and both dentists here. They go far above and beyond what I have ever experienced at any other doctor's office. My father was my dentist my whole life and so after he passed I was very particular about choosing a new dentist. I found Dr. Johnson here and have been with this practice every since. I am so happy I found this practice when I had to have a semi urgent tooth extraction. Everyone there was wonderful and the oral sedation they offered made a huge difference. I felt comfortable enough after that positive experience to have them also do a crown procedure on another fractured tooth of mine. Dr Lindsay and Maya took excellent care of me and made these somewhat uncomfortable procedures as pleasant as you could possibly hope for!

Dr. Lindsay and his staff have been accommodating and helpful with my hillbilly look after I broke my front tooth that was a crown over the weekend and they were able to get me in asap to get a temporary made and schedule for the procedure to make my smile great again.

As someone without dental insurance, I can really recommend Balcones Dental. They have a super affordable plan for 2 cleanings per year WITH the digital imagery included. I knew I needed a little work, in addition, and they were superb to work with. On those fillings, it was completely non-stressful and I even declined the nitrous. I saw Dr Luke Johnson and dental hygienist Michell - both amazing.

I have been going to Balcones dental for the past four years and have never had an unpleasant experience. They are always very friendly and kind. I was a candidate for the tooth implant training program for dentists. I had a really great experience! The dentists took great care of me, keeping my comfort a priority while learning/brushing up their skills at the same time. The procedure was a great success at a muuuch cheaper price than normal. I'd recommend this dentist to anyone who is looking for a professional private practice.

I have been going to Balcones Dental for almost 2 years now. I receive routine cleaning done twice a year, had a night guard made there, and had 1 cavity filled. I ask a lot of questions and my hygienist as well as Dr Johnson always have intelligent answers. They are also staying on top of things with x-rays, images, fluoride treatments, and periodontal exams. Would certainly recommend!

I had problems with all the dental work performed on me. A crown they seated came off and then they changed me to reseat it. All of my fillings chipped or came off completely. No one in the front office helped me at all. Beware. **** DESPITE GETTING A RESPONSE ON THIS SITE NO ONE HAS CONTACTED ME FROM BALCONES DENTAL**** **** IT’S OCTOBER 2023 AND I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL ****

The entire team is great. Front office is welcoming when you walk in and until you leave. Laurie has been my hygienist for the past year or so, and is personable and fun to chat with when her hands aren’t in my mouth . Dr. Luke is great and always has good news for me, but then again, why wouldn’t he… him and team are always taking great care of my teeth and me. Thanks Balcones.

I'm a new patient, and getting an appointment right away was easy. All staff were friendly and made for a more pleasant experience. I had been putting off an appointment w/ pandemic still going on, but they took every precaution to minimize potentials for exposure. Was in and out quickly, and dentist took the time to explain course of action for work needed. Would highly recommend.

If I could give a million stars I would! I hate going to the dentist and have high anxiety when I do, and they did their absolute best to ease my fears. The front desk staff (especially Lisa) where wonderful, the hygienist was amazing. The doc really listened to me during the procedure, and did their best to comfort me. I recently had a cleaning and an old filling fixed at Balcones. Their staff is friendly, efficient, and easy to communicate with. Dr. Luke did an excellent job fixing my old filling and was communicative the whole procedure. The office is nice and has updated equipment. I had a crown pop off late on Sunday night and the staff was able to fit me in quickly. Dr. Lindsey and his wonderful assistant made me comfortable and numbed me up so well that it was pretty much pain free as he put the crown back on. I went to Balcones Dental for my Invisalign. I had a great experience from start to finish (about 14 weeks). The staff was incredibly nice, personable and helpful. Office staff is friendly and maintain a very cheerful environment. Waiting time Once I arrived was less than 5 minutes. Dental hygienist was very professional and explained the procedure in detail. Balcones Dental is a great place to go for all your dental needs! The staff is super friendly and professional and I always feel well cared for there. It's super easy to make and change appointments and the automated reminders ensure I never forget one. And, if you don't have dental insurance, they have some great options for you!

I had a chip tooth , the ladies at front desk were very nice , arranged me to have appointment on the next day . Dr Johnson put the filling on my tooth effectively and gently , he explained clearly along the process , and the dental assistant Robin was very warm and kind too ; my appreciation to you both and Balcones Dental .

My hygienist yesterday was a temp so she’s not there all the time. She was rough and dug deep and she was really going for it during my polishing. Ugh, I loved it. She works in Pflugerville normally. So sad I can’t schedule with her regularly. Dr. Lindsay is patient and kind and caring and non-judgmental. Love that guy.

Been here many times for cleanings as well as more detailed procedures for my cavities that are very persistent. Each time the staff are kind, courteous and seem to really care about the well being of their patients. The dentists office is never fun, but I appreciate that they take the time to do it right.

I had a cleaning with Laurie and she did an awesome job. She's a sweet person and made my teeth feel super clean while also being gentle and attentive.
