i went into the branch to pay some money into my barclays account but there was a queue at the machines so instead i went to the cashier who was doing nothing but was told that i needed to use the machine. i told her that there was a queue so id like her to deal with me as she didnt have any one with her but she wouldnt have it saying that i needed to use the machine. I will not be using the branch again and instead have opened an account with another bank. in reply to your response to me....as i didnt give a time or a date of my visit i really dont know how you can say that the cashier was busy and had someone waiting on the sofa for her. there was NOBODY waiting on the sofa and she certainly was not busy or i wouldnt have bothered her. its no wonder your reviews are so poor
Been calling the Hornchurch Branch since 12:15 this afternoon. 16 calls later (time now 15:34) and still no response. So much for opening my Business Account. They are incompetent and a serious waste of time. But I bet if I owed them money, you would see how fast they would be ringing off my phone. Think I might also change my current account. can't bank with a bank that doesn't answer to their clients. Disgraceful and very unprofessional. 27/10/2020. They don't even deserve 1 star...they deserve a bag full of ****.

В отделении банка мужчина не смог закрыть депозит, а после обслуживания моя карта и вовсе была заморожена вместе с аккаунтом. Я увидел сегодня абсолютно бездарное, хамское, высокомерное обсуживание сотрудницы офиса по имени Деби, которая пыталась закрыть мне рот. Деньги с депозита так и не вернули, сказали ждать письмо из банка на домашний адрес. Просто ужасное обслуживание!
Went into thd branch today and they seemed very short staffed but it did not stop Emma giving me her full attention and went out of her way to make sure I got it dealt with quickly. She was amazing at helping me sort out my problem after my nearly being a victim of a scammer. She was thorough and very helpful. I left there with my problem sorted. I know you were short staffed but you showed that you care about your job and your customers. Thank you
Maybe not fault of staff, but being told would need to come back in THREE days to hand in a death certificate and then being told to go to Romford doesn't feel good. Twice spent an hour (literally) hanging on the telephone trying to get through to their "Debit card fraud office" and gave up trying to get through to their "Network fraud office". Really frustrating and exhausting experience. Not worth even one star really!!
Rude stuff, including manager every time ive visited in the last year. They do not want to serve you at a counter. You are stopped on entering and asked what you want in front of the other customers.They insist you use machines or online services. Ive been a Platinum customer for over 40 years, payed in salaries, 2 morgages, life & building insurance, Barclycard. Closing account now.
I have started using this branch because unless you are a business customer you have to use machines at romford, the service here is about as slow as it could be, they have three cashier desks and you never see them all open. I am still rating it higher than romford because you do get to see a cashier but in an ideal world romford would have no stars and this branch would have one.
9.30 to 15.00!! We are going back to the dark ages with regards to Bank opening times. They do not need to cash up now...hardly any cash in circulation!! Why is it that you can withdraw up to £1200.00 on an ATM inside the Branch, but only up to £300.00 on the ATM outside? There seems to be half a dozen staff standing around barking orders, but no staff on the tills...why?
Shocking managing, and pure incompetence- even prior to covid 19 restrictions. Once waited two hours to deposit money, and the staff had an atmosphere of annoyance and frustration- how dare i deposit my money so late after having to queue for two hours. Also very common to just be put to the side, told to wait and forgot about for hours at a time.
The staff at the door, a woman that was supposed to help, was very rude and acted very arrogantly towards me and didn't really want to help me at all. I was very shocked as I have never seen such rudeness from Barclays. They really need to retrain their staff in dealing with people in a positive way.
3 cashier stations but they are never all used. The service is incredibly slow on a good day. Most of the time have to use the machines am which are a pain at the best of times I guess it serves a purpose as long as you’re not in a hurry! I’d recommend a different branch anyday.
I suffered racial abuse while going here, don't go here if you are one of the minorities unless you want to be embarrassed and belittled by the horrible staff, never been so insulted in my life . I am amazed that barclays actually allows these kind of people to work for them.
Having had a Barclays Bank account since 1962 Hornchurch Branch is the worst branches I have had the misfortune to use. The only branch to be as bad or perhaps even worse is Gidea Park. The only reason I stay with Barclays, to be honest, I can't be bothered to change.
Very good experiances at this store. Pleasant and very helpful staff and this store has advantage of atms where you can pay in money or withdraw. Was waiting in line to pay money in and staff came out and showed me how to pay in at atm. I am very impressed.
I was at the Hornchurch branch of Barclays today and received extremely good service from Debbie, who works at the counter. She went out of her way to help resolve my queries and was very knowledgeable and helpful. She is an asset to the branch!
One of the worst banks I have ever visited. The staff don't want work! And the manger can't even manage the queue for the machines never mind the bank. Going by the rest of the reviews should of being sacked months ago.
Had to queue for some time to get in. Needed the counter and only 1 serving, 1 on break and 1 isolating. Temporary reduced counter hours are 9-2 Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri. 10-2 Wed. Branch opening hours are as listed.
Absolutely shocking bank went in there yesterday to draw cash out was told no cashier in today. Been on phone half hour now trying to find out if they have cashiers available today and still no answer! …
Terribly rude staff, which incompetent clown runs this branch? And no counter service available. Go to any other Barclays branch instead, because this one deserves to be shut down.
Staff are rude asking why we don’t go to another bank and why we want to open with them, and lied about opening and closing times for other stores and she was useless.
Very rude and disrespectful front door staff, trying to ask a question but she just gave me a white eye and walked away, avoid this branch!
