Subject: Unsatisfactory Experience at the Enfield Branch Dear Barclays Customer Service, I am writing to provide feedback regarding my recent experiences at the Enfield branch of Barclays. I have been a long-time customer of Barclays, previously utilizing the Cuffley and Cheshunt branches before their closure. Unfortunately, the transition to the Enfield branch has been far from satisfactory. The primary issue I would like to address is the behavior of a specific staff member at the business counter. Every time I visit the branch and clearly indicate that I am a business customer, this particular individual exhibits rude and arrogant behavior. Despite my attempts to pay bills or use the machine, he continuously dismisses my requests without providing any valid reason. This recurring problem has created unnecessary frustration and inconvenience for me as a customer. Moreover, during one of my visits, I was coerced into using the machine by him to put a large sum of cash, despite explicitly informing the staff member multiple times about my preference for a teller-assisted transaction. As a result, I encountered an issue where £500 became stuck in the machine. This error could have been avoided if the staff member had paid attention to my request and assisted me accordingly. I feel obliged to express my disappointment with the conduct of this particular staff member. Their lack of professionalism, rudeness, and failure to perform their job duties adequately have significantly impacted my banking experience at the Enfield branch. While I appreciate the efforts of the remaining staff members who have demonstrated good customer service, the behavior of this individual tarnishes the overall reputation of Barclays. It is disheartening to witness such a stark contrast in service quality within the same branch. Considering these recurring issues, I would like to suggest that appropriate action be taken to address this matter promptly. It is crucial for Barclays to ensure that all staff members, including the individual in question, adhere to the principles of excellent customer service, politeness, and attentiveness. Additionally, I would like to bring to your attention the idea of exploring automation options for certain tasks to prevent instances where customers are subjected to inadequate service. While I understand the benefits of technological advancements, it is imperative to strike a balance between automation and personalized customer care. I hope that my feedback will prompt a thorough investigation into this matter and facilitate necessary improvements to the Enfield branch's customer service. As a dedicated Barclays customer, I believe that addressing these concerns will contribute to a more positive and satisfactory banking experience for all customers. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to a resolution.
I don't usually visit Barclays as I used to bank with them but I do pop in if I have a bill to pay, usually for my Argos card. So this branch looks very different now, there is a lot of space and staff but not at a POS as it used to be, there are no booths with people serving you 85% of transactions and services are now done through a machine, I'm used to them as my current bank has them too. Problem is being a Saturday it's bound to be busy for full time working people who haven't the time to visit the bank during the week. So the queu was moderate but for 8 machines there was only 1 person to help. So I braved myself thinking I'm an intelligent educated person I should be able to pay this bill with no help. Well unfortunately the machine didn't agree and kept asking to check the reference number which was correct as I checked it over 10 times. So I waited and waited while the machine kept asking if "I need more time" as clearly it was taking longer than expected. The member of staff spent 30 mins with one customer then had to disappear and then return to serve the person who was waiting for help before me So in total I spent over 30 mins and achieved nothing I'm annoyed because we know that machines cost less to maintain in long term than an employee but a machine can't ever provide customer service or say good morning with s smile and for that reason Barclays I thank god that I'm no longer banking with you
PAOLO thank you for just being a great guy. I entered the Enfield town branch and was greeted with the borderline treatment that I'm used to. The woman I had, told me I could cash my check on my phone app and I was blown away by this expecting her to show me how it was done and she just moved on to another customer. My man Paolo noticed my silent disappointment and went out of his way to help me out, he introduced himself professionally and showed me step by step what to do, having me set and ready to go within a minute. Paolo exceeded all of my expectations and made me remember why I love being with barclays bank. And as for the other girl who I will not name, honestly, DO BETTER.
ABSOLUETLEY HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!everything is a NO at this branch. and huge delays for everything. I regret opening 4 accounts with them. They should close the branch altogether and give that space to a charity or something because they are absolutely useless. Dont want to help customers, cashiers are too lazy to do anything, manager is never available, even when you have a booked appointment you have to wait over 45 minutes to be seen. all the cubicles are empty. You all might as well work from home. Worst bank ever
Rusest power hungry staff at the door. I understnad they have to protect their clients and customers but I walked in - no queue outside and no-one at the door entrance. Shouted at me across the floor that I didn't wait - there was no-one to speak with. Perhaps, be kinder and less aggressive with your tone - poor customer service seems to be the top problem here. The girl behind the business banking till was lovely though.
The new machines they use instead of people are not the best. If you need to pay in coins you will have a wait as you have to use a cashier desk. Problems is there is normally only one staff member serving . I believe that Barclays has let its self down by going full out with machines. The old system was proven and worked . Barclay still offer good rates and mortgages , haven’t had any problems with staff
I have been a Barclays customer for many years and this branch is the worst I have been to. I cannot comprehend how these morons operate on a day to day basis. Camilla is by far the worst manager I have ever come across who does not understand the basics of customer service as well as the little boy with the piercing on the front desk who is rude.
Worst customer service ever, been standing around waiting to be seen, 5 people in the queue, 2 other employees walking around with no clue, was told to come into branch to confirm some identification because I wasn’t able to do it online. No help what so ever. You’d think a bank like this was a bit more organised and professional
Worth a visit if you are visiting Enfield Town so that you can see the location of the world's first ever ATM. One of the modern ATMs is painted gold in recognition of this. Marked a 5* because Google insists I provide a star rating; however, this is just informational rather than a ratings review.
Dreadful service time after time Slow even withstanding Covid. Refused on two separate occasions to transfer MY money even though their employer was clearly helping others via the laptop Will try Barclay Muswell Hill tomorrow as usually they are so much more professional No stars if possible
Poor customer services. Had to wait in waiting area for an hour to see an advisor. Ended up walking out as could have been there all night. Was originally told would be 15minutes to see someone. I just needed to update name on account. Will not be visiting this branch in the future.
Very disappointed. The cash machine have big problems. When i click return the card, the card cannot come out. It juat come out little bit, until finger can touch. I can't clip the card out. Now the card been take over by thr machine again. It is really not good at all.
I found the staff in this branch to be absolutely amazing. I recently fell a victim to fraud on my business accounts and I was blocked from all my accounts. I was seen immediately and within half an hour, the issue was resolved. Thank you for all your help Enfield
Barclays is constantly keeping me in the loop about things. I have been banking with them for 6.5 years and I have never had any complaints. Recently went in and had the best customer service from the little guy. Funny guy, very helpful and nice.
If you are black stay away from this branch staff are absolutely horrible the profiled me for nearly a week just to open a basic account for my wages to go in. Am stressed and I can't believe they are treating black people like this in 2019 SMH!
No more human interaction at this branch. It got installed with self service machine with one staff is running around like a headless chicken to resolve everyone problem. More time spent with machines than human checkouts!! No no no for me.
Thanks a lot for Daniel, he helped me to transfer international money. He was really quick and helpful. I wouldn't do it without him. He was explained well and step by step, even kids was with me, he is so calm. Thanks again Daniel.
Haseeb was very quick in what needed to be done He remembered me from last time which was a nice surprise as these days of tech mean the personal touch rarely happens. Daniel was also helpful sorting out how to do this review.
Worst service ever.businesses counter extremely busy.they having long conversations but no transactions (they should let people to contact the customer service) waste of time .♂️♂️♂️ …
Very rude staff, speaking down at you. Been told by 1 staff I can and another telling I can't they need to learn some customer service skills as I have been in the queue for a long for no reason.
We just had a great experience. Paolino Maurini delivered a second to none customer experience and we want to say a big thank you from Sofia and Tim. He’s definitely an asset to the company!!!
Historical and one of the first to introduce a cash machine I think it was to end Q in and make cash easily available, but ☺️this is more than a bank,, A service provider.
useless, shambolic advisors with absolutely 0 idea of how to do their job. closed my account with this bank due to this horrendous experience
You will never leave here without getting more than what you ask for. Staff are always willing to go the extra mile.
They closed my account for no reason after 5 years with them and lots of proofs they still do just what they want.
Always seems to be open, open on Saturdays as ponders end and Edmonton Green branches are closed.. self sufficient
Poor service from the minute you step in. Waited over 40 mins to get a temporary card replacement
Customer service from Debbie was amazing. Thanks for helping my dad and I sort his card
It's just a bank. You go and do what you need to do. In and out as quickly as possible.
Unprofessional and immature staff. Unhelpful and rude. Don't use for business banking.
1 cashier only. Queues go on for ever. Nothing changes even after numerous complaints
Possibly worst branch ever. Useless staff. Basically getting paid doing nothing....
Stupid self service system with 3 employees hurding people around. Load of BULLS#*T
