I’m not usually one to leave a review or recommendation, but Barefoot Physiotherapy is so outstanding I could not go on without publicly praising them. I injured my ankle a few years ago playing touch and being a young student at the time decided to forgo seeking treatment. This was a huge mistake and over the years not only did my ankle never heal, but my body adjusted to compensate – which only caused more issues and pain. I decided to finally seek help and after trying two other physiotherapists nothing seemed to be working. Luckily for me, I stumbled across Barefoot online and based on their approach decided to give them a crack. During my first appointment, we did a very thorough overview of my specific injury, my whole body, my day-to-day experience and what I wanted to eventually achieve physically. I was pleasantly surprised at how in-depth this process was and how the results from this meeting alone drastically improved my injury. Following my appointment, I was assigned exercises that were practical, manageable and most importantly enjoyable. What’s better was that were I to be under the weather or get bored, I could easily interchange or intensify my exercises. Over the next few months I saw my physiotherapist, Sal, many times. Every appointment I went to was reactive and based on progression. Depending on my adventures between appointments, my treatment and exercises were modified to ensure I saw and felt improvements with every visit. During busy weeks where I was unable to train as much as I would have liked, I never felt any guilt coming to see Sal because she understood that life is complex and I knew that between her expertise and confidence in me, we would be back on track in no time. For over a month now I’ve been using specialised training equipment Barefoot lent me, free of charge. By comparison, I know physio’s that charge for tape! What’s more, as my ankle improved I needed less and less appointments – a sign of true dedication to the patient. What has made Barefoot truly stand out however, is that I am treated as more than a simply customer. Sal was (and still is) incredibly attuned and sincerely dedicated to ensuring that I not only continue to improve my ankle’s condition, but that I also live a genuinely good life. During my time here, Sal and the team at Barefoot have treated me like family. I always look forward to our appointments where I am not only expertly and professionally treated but enjoy meaningful conversation and a sharing of our experiences. Sal’s outlook on life and problem-solving talents even helped me gain a new perspective regarding my own future pathway. I could continue this review with the many specific moments and features that make Barefoot Physiotherapy the virtuous establishment it is, but for the sake of anyone reading this I’ll sum up by saying: they don’t just treat the injury, they treat the person; and Barefoot has treated me very, very well. I’m off for a pain-free run (because I can do that now).

I suffer from spinal osteoarthritis as well as other long term issues with my legs and back, due to various injuries that I have sustained through work, sports and general clumsiness. Over the years, to deal with this, I’ve used many different methods, whether that be chiropractors, massage therapists, or other physiotherapists. None of these others have come close to producing the type of results that I’m currently getting with Barefoot Physiotherapy. I no longer wake up in the morning with the lower back pain that has been bothering me for years, and I’m even able to regularly run without my muscles immediately locking up after just a few minutes. I’ve regularly been seeing Catherine Mullins whom I cannot recommend highly enough. Her knowledge of her profession is incredible, and it is obviously something that she has a passion for. She is extremely down to earth and has a great sense of humour, which is a great mix with her professionalism. The plan that she has made up for me, has absolutely worked to a tee. I have also had a session with Brittany Johnstone whom I can’t fault either. She was the same as Catherine, extremely professional and knowledgable, but also welcoming, friendly, with a good sense of humour. Barefoot obviously have an excellent selection process for their staff. I look forward to returning in the future, with less regular sessions, now that they have me managing my body better and now that I have an excellent plan on place.

What can I say As a Sports Science Graduate, former GB international Powerlifter and Personal trainer you could say I'm very picky with the help I go to. After visiting different 'Specialists' I was thinking my best lifting days had been and gone after the majority people had left me feeling confused and thinking about surgery! After searching online and reading loads of reviews I found this Phisyo clinic. The clinic it's self is well located and has a really homely and comforting feel with all the staff being super friendly and welcoming which is important during a stressful periods like an injury! Catherine's approach to my injury was exactly what I was looking for, treating it like a puzzle to find the cause and then how to fix it. Apossed to other 'specialists' that gave me a very broad cliche diagnosis. After only a couple of sessions, already a week later the pain in my hip has greatly reduced and I'm gaining my ability to start moving pain free under load. What I also found refreshing in an industry plagued with money grabbers, was Catherine's vast knowledge and the fact she genuinely cared about my injury. While other just fill your appointment with useless information before sending you on your way. I will defiantly will be making that 8 hour trip down to the clinic again as I think it's of of the best phisyos in Queensland !

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! I have been to so many physio's throughout the years that go straight to the sore muscle or joint, poke around, heat pack and tens machine, give you exercises and send you on your merry way until the next appt. It never got to the root cause of things and would always flair up again. The philosophy and methodology of Barefoot Physio should be what Universities are teaching physio students. Catherine my physio, is fantastic. She has literally changed my life. I am 46 years old and have osteoarthritis and suffer from anxiety. I had never completely understood the relationship between the mind and body that everybody seems to harp on about until I came to Barefoot Physio and saw Catherine. My muscles were always "on" and never relaxed. Instead of feeling 46 I had days where I felt closer to 76. Now after several months of visits, it no longer hurts when I stand up, I can turn to look over my shoulder in the car without it hurting and I can bend down without it hurting and aching. It doesn't sound like much, but it makes the world of difference. I can now contemplate exercise again. The difference is amazing and I have never experienced it with any other Physio. I highly recommend Barefoot Physio and suggest you call or email them to discuss your issue. You won't regret it.

Simply The Best! For many years, I stumbled along with intermittent but nonetheless, ever-present back pain. It was a pain I could rely on. I'd think it was gone, but then it would pop its' head up again. A little like John Farnham, it just couldn't resist a comeback! The Barefoot Team have worked wonders with me over the last few years. Their treatment method has resulted in significant improvement in my ability to 'live life to the fullest'. I am no longer hampered by back or neck pain. My overall body movement is amazing! Their approach to my restrictive issues was highly professional, amazingly accurate and truly compassionate. I am beyond grateful for their care. I've been treated by several of the physiotherapists in the Barefoot Team. I do, of course, have my favourite. Oh wait.... favourites?! Like a medium quarter pounder meal from Maccas (with a chocolate shake), you will receive the same effective treatment, no matter who you book with. You won't be asked, "Do you want fries with that?" You'll get the fries every time! From the moment you enter the Barefoot Sanctuary, you'll know you've chosen well! I’ve been going to barefoot since the beginning of 2018. I’d put off going back to physio as I didn’t want the hassle and stress of starting “fresh” with a new physio and having to explain my situation again. From the time I walked into barefoot I felt safe and welcomed. I have been seeing a physio for nearly 18 years after a whiplash injury and more recently lower back pain from degenerating bones. I also get a lot of muscular neck pain associated with or caused by migraines. I can honestly say that despite the fact that I have visited very senior and very experienced sports physios (who have worked with olympians) I have never felt better treated and cared for than I do at barefoot. I am NOT a sportsperson…. But my pain is real and can be very debilitating. My work life is hectic and challenging; my body is often just a mess; my body does not get treated well (by me). I’m now sorry I took so long to find my way to Sal at barefoot. Their space at the red brick house is welcoming and not at all scary and clinical: their work is professional, courteous, patient, insightful and makes me able to walk out of the red brick house with renewed hope.

I chose Barefoot Physiotherapy because I liked what these women were achieving in the community based on the writeup on their website and awards to date. The venue was also a big draw card as it is away from the hustle and bustle of the city and shopping or medical centres. The practice has a very welcoming and homely feel. Brittany is my physiotherapist who is unfailingly upbeat, friendly and professional. She initially started treating me for lower back pain and a torn tendon in my right arm but the scope of my treatment plan steadily grew as we realised that a more holistic plan was needed to address lingering discomfort from RSI I first experienced 10 years ago and other muscle and pain management from my physical fitness activities. I can honestly say that for the first time in my life I am in tune with my body and understand why it flares up when it does. Thanks to Brittany who goes over and above to help me, I have learned techniques to effectively manage pain and discomfort and find a good balance within myself again.

I have been attending Barefoot Physio for a couple of months now and, having been engaged with many different clinicians over a 20 odd year period, I can honestly and very comfortably say their approach is really quite unique in the most positive of ways. Engaging, enthusiastic and professional, my experience is such that whilst ‘my’ physio (Catherine) leads the way I ferl very much a part of the treatment process. Ongoing assessment and checking in on progress during the session, consistent follow up via email after each appointment, I have genuinely felt that Catherine is actively engaged in my holistic wellness rather than me being patient 4 on a Friday, or just another ‘neck’! Catherine’s energy and engagement is infectious and despite my own energy being pretty low at times, I always leave the appointments with renewed enthusiasm - for which I am extremely grateful. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend Catherine and indeed the Practise to anyone requiring treatment. They are exemplary professionals in their field.

Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, I would highly recommend Barefoot Physiotherapy! When I attended Barefoot physiotherapy I had the occasional sore back, sore hip and sore knee. Little did I know how much my life was being restricted by these until I saw Barefoot Physiotherapy. They looked at my body in detail and tested every nerve, muscle and joint. Then treated my body as a whole and I can’t believe the results! I have had deceased hip, back and knee pain (which no other health professional has come close to helping me with) as well as decreased headaches (I didn’t even know they could help with this). Overall I am feeling like I can move more easily and I’m less restricted in my day to day activities. I found them friendly, professional and knowledgeable well beyond my expectations. If you are willing to put the time and effort into getting the most out of this style of physiotherapy I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Thanks guys!

I will never be able to say enough nice things about the amazing people at Barefoot. I have chronic pain and lots of other medical issues that mean I’m always in pain. Since going, I’ve gotten more movement back, less pain and a new lease on life. Gorgeous Cath when she heard about my epilepsy went out of her way to learn about the specific type of epilepsy and how it related to my pain and health as a whole. They go out of their way to research and collaborate in order to give you the best care possible. They are not those physios that’ll do a quick adjustment and have you back next week to get more money. They genuinely care about you and your health and make sure that you have a plan in place to feel better. My cat was sick and they gave me and my cat a card. They have liaised with my gym to make sure that the exercises I do there are ok for my body. They are just genuine professionals that care. If I could give a million stars I would.

I’ve been attending Barefoot Physiotherapy for over 18 months now and I see Caitlin Sargent regularly. Caitlin is an exceptional physiotherapist; highly experienced and knowledgeable. What makes her and her approach so unique, however, is her empathy, her ability to keep an open mind, and the extraordinary lengths to which she goes for her clients. I have seen significant improvements in my health since I started seeing her. During my time at the clinic, I’ve also had the pleasure of seeing the wonderful Cath (Catherine Mullins). All team members know their clients (whether they treat them personally or not), collaborate to ensure the best treatment for everyone, and are kind, welcoming and understanding. It is an incredibly unique and holistic physiotherapy clinic with sound values. While physiotherapy needs are completely individual, I do highly recommend Barefoot Physiotherapy.

I've been seeing Caitlin. S and Caitlin. D at Barefoot Physiotherapy for a few months now and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Prior to finding Barefoot I saw three other physiotherapists at different practices over the past few years and I never experienced the level of care that I do with Caitlin and Caitlin. They are so welcoming, considerate, compassionate, professional and exceptionally good at what they do! They always follow up my appointment with an email detailing what we covered and any changes to my home exercises/stretches and are prompt with any email queries too. The chronic pain I was experiencing when I first attended has reduced to the point where I'm able to be active and enjoy my life again! The building and rooms are clean, fresh and welcoming and the location is convenient. I don't ever want to go anywhere else because I've found the best!!

I've been a "Barefooter" for years and , not wanting to sound cliche, the team have changed my life. Why haven't I left a review till now? Mostly because I don't feel that anything I could write would properly express just how much Sal and the Barefoot team mean to me. I had resigned myself to living with constant back pain. I'd seen a plethora of specialists who seemed to focus only on my symptoms and never looked at what was causing my issues. The Barefoot team worked with me from a point where I was barely surviving and couldn't sleep from the pain I was in, through the recovery process to get moving and then to now where I keep finding new and exciting ways to push my body. At Barefoot I feel listened to and comfortable asking questions. They are AWESOME and I hope their style of healthcare becomes the new standard which other practitioners strive to achieve.

If it were possible to give a 6-star review, I would do so for the team at Barefoot Physio. I went to Barefoot for help in recovering from the birth of my son. Not only did I get immediate results in my very first appointment, Caitlin and Sal have worked tirelessly to help me with various problems that come with having a newborn (De Quervain's wrist, c-section pain, recovery of movement). I've learned to recognise the signs my body gives me and learned techniques to help me combat problems that might arise. They've given me back confidence in my body and health and encouraged and supported me in my physical goals, no matter how small or insignificant they might seem to me. I have no hesitation at all in recommending them - they genuinely care about their clients and they will work as hard as they can to help.

I cannot recommend Barefoot Physio enough! I had an injury to my lower back and neck a few years ago that and I thought being in pain would be my new normal. Sal was incredible! The treatment was holistic, targeted and evidenced based. I had a mix of dry needling, releases and exercises for home. She also showed my partner how to support my management between treatment sessions. With her help I was able to return to my normal life and doing the things I loved without pain. I also saw her to support and maintain my body during my pregnancy and post birth. Again the care and treatment I believe made all the difference for me during pregnancy. Absolutely amazing! I’ve been attending appointments with Caitlin Detmers since January this year (9 months so far) and I’m so happy with the progress that’s been made with my body. I’m an ex professional ballet dancer so there was a lot of damage and irritation within my body due to those years, as well as a few old injuries that needed attending to. I’m happy to report I am now pain free and feeling stronger than ever! Not only has Caitlin been great in helping me physically, but she’s also been such a great emotional support as I recovered. She is always super compassionate, very understanding, always looking for the positive and brightening up my day. Brittany at Barefoot is fantastic. I was previously seeing a different physio after knee surgery for a meniscus tear. This physio wasn’t interested & didn’t listen. Each week my pain increased from the exercises given. After my first appointment with Brittany, I walked out a different person – no pain, no limp & a better understanding of what triggered the pain. Every visit since has been great – identifying & releasing aggravated muscles plus a set of manageable exercises to build strength around the knee. Not only is Brittany always pleasant & upbeat, she also very organised and focused. I feel like I am her only client, because at each visit she picks up precisely from where we left off. I also love that she is always one step ahead of where I’m at, challenging me at a good pace.

My physio Britt is sweet, caring and always checks-in between sessions to make sure I’m doing okay. Recently turning 48 and definitely not an athlete I have been struggling with the usual aging complaints of an office worker. I have been seeing Britt at Barefoot for a few months now and I wish I had started this journey sooner. Britt is friendly, very thorough, and sets realistic activities for homework (mum to a very busy baby over here). I also appreciate that if Britt is going to be away or if she doesn’t have any suitable appointment times for me then her colleague Cath is happy to see me and I’ve had an equally lovely experience working with Cath. I honestly could not recommend Barefoot Physiotherapy highly enough. I have been to Barefoot a few times now for two different issues and different times. One of them being an ongoing back issue which as lead me to multiple physiotherapists and sports physicians across Brisbane. These guys kick butt! Not only was I literally walking out of their clinic pain free, they provided me with the tools and knowledge to keep it that way. I got to see both Cherelle and Caitlin, and both were incredibly professional, personable and made you feel at home straight away. The Red Brick House is like no other Physio you will ever go to - I can promise you that!

Can’t begin to say enough good things about Barefoot Physio. I arrived in Australia with the beginnings of frozen shoulder. Had pain all day long & couldn’t sleep at night. In Canada I had tried several different physiotherapists, a chiropractor and massage but nothing worked for long. Caitlin S had worked a miracle for me! No pain during the day anymore! I can sleep at night . I can get on with my life and when you are a senior you need to enjoy every day. This clinic is clean, pleasant , welcoming & well run . I first started seeing Hannah at barefoot physio for an ongoing injury that I had been managing, but struggling to actually overcome. Her holistic approach was great and addressed not just the trouble area itself, but also identified other aspects of my movement and posture that were contributing and I started seeing good improvements. I've had a few bumps in the road with other Injuries that cropped up (as they do when you play a physical sport), but Hannah has been very patient and consistent in helping me to keep getting back on track and getting me back to playing as quickly as I reasonably can.

Caitlin D is an amazing physiotherapist! Incredibly kind, entirely client focused, attentive and phenomenal clinical skills. My wife was post partum with shoulder and neck pain that Caitlin D was able to treat with immediate and ongoing amazing outcomes. So good that you don’t have to see her all that often because her treatment is so focused on self empowerment!! Caitlin is not only an amazing clinician, she was also accomodating to having a 6 month old in the session - somehow managing to care and give our daughter attention while treating my wife! Absolutely amazing. I've been seeing Caitlin S. here for almost a year now and she is truly incredible. She made me feel so comfortable and at ease from the very first appointment. My regular appointments make such a noticeable difference and she also provided me exercises/stretches I can do myself at home to help since I have a lot of issues with my breathing. The best thing that happened to me is starting my Physiotherapy sessions at Barefoot Physio. I can't recommend them enough. Before I started my treatments with Catherine I didn't know how bad my body movements were and I got accustomed to the pain, I accepted it. But after the first couple of sessions and tasting what a movement without pain feels like I felt elated. I am a much happier person after each session. Catherine is very attentive and caring and she has been helping me all the way through. But I believe that all the therapists at Barefoot therapy are fabulous :)

Although im not in the clear yet, (as my job causes most of the stress) i have seen so much improvement since being a client at this clinic and i am able to move most days pain free with headaches reduced to only 1-2 times a week. I love this place! I came to the clinic with aggravating pains in my neck and shoulder and was looking for holistic physio treatment. The first thing that struck me was the cool red brick building, it's very homey and inviting, not like your average clinic.
