This place is over priced for a caravan, $50 for a powered site per night(10% discount if your a NRMA or RACT member) Some of the sites are quite difficult to maneuver your van into not to mention some sites have the power and water on the wrong side, so make sure you have plenty of hose and long extension cord. The sites do provide plenty of privacy as they are hedged. Things like mini golf, the pool are added extras you will have to pay for, the playground will keep kids amused for all of 5 mins. What I did find quite quirky was the 4 water tanks that had been converted to unisex bathrooms. One shocking discovery I made was the lack of security on their WiFi network, Everyone devices are visible on the network and could easily be hacked, my recommendation would be to use your own internet or hotspot off your phone. TALK ABOUT BREACH OF PRIVACY All in all this is park is posing as something it's not . (Charging premium prices for something that's not premium) THE RECEPTION STAFF ARE REALLY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.

Great location, short drive to airport, Hobart CBD and Richmond historical village. Enjoyed mini golf, woodfired pizza and you can book the pool to yourselves. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Only downside was the cabin we stayed in, standard ensuite, was very tiny and the one fan took a very long time to cool everything down. We couldn't stay in the cabin during the day, it was simply too hot. Also, there were ants appearing, even with no food out. Now, it was a very hot day, and the ensuite cabin we stayed in a couple of years ago was bigger and generally nicer, and in the cooler months. We will definitely stay again, just in an ensuite cabin and/or a cooler time.

Not very often i give a bad review but i feel this was needed. Was very disappointing. When we arrived with our caravan which we had booked well in advanced, we were allocated a site which is used for motor homes. This space was way too small for our family of 6 which needed an annex out. To make it worse, there were motorhomes in the larger caravan spots....go figure! The mini golf was over priced, showers were on a timer which made you feel like you were in a prison. The staff gave the impression that they didn't like children and there was really nothing for them to do other and a very out dated, tiny park. We won't be returning.

Convenient location - Close to Hobart and a useful place to stay the night before taking your rented campervan back. Extremely clean facilities - there is also a laundry - cold wash only. There are native chickens and bandicoots on site - amusing to watch. Check in very smooth - pleasant staff. If you are planning to arrive on either a Sunday or Monday, be aware that the restaurant and pizzeria are both closed on those evenings - it seems to be quite difficult to get anything to eat on Sunday evenings generally.

  • Madeleine Dwyer

Overall the campsite was lacking in an entertainment or games room. The kitchen was always overcrowded with not enough room for cooking and cleaning dishes. The camp kitchen were also quite far away from the camping grounds, they were closer to the cabins which was inconvenient. Also the taps were confusing as there was no set pattern about what was hot and cold. Some showers had hot taps on the left and others on the right. This was the most disappointing camp ground that we have been to thus far.

The receptionists were super nice and responsive. They put me in a nice tent spot in the trees, though I wish they would’ve separated me and the one other person in the section. They put us right next to each other so it was a little annoying, not much privacy. There is a bit of road noise and loud ducks/birds, but otherwise it’s a pleasant campground nearby to town. Camp kitchen and laundry is nice and there’s a barbecue area. Thai restaurant on site was good but a little pricey for me.

  • Maria Lane

Quiet situation not far from beach. Handy to local fuel & deli/hot foods. Reasonable showers with 8 minute timers. Highly recommend Saturday bus to Salamanca market; it's tiring enough to see everything there without having to find a parking spot, either 2hr paid, or far away. Market brilliant, with pubs and cafes as well as food stalls. Do eat at the Horseshoe Inn just up road from Barilla; outside appearance gives way to great interior, great food.

  • Jess Stewart

My 2 stars are for the staffs manors, especially at Nates Family Resturant. But, one of our rooms ceiling leaked when it rained right onto the person sleeping in the room and when we told the reception staff all they had to say was oh sorry but theres nothing we can do about that. Absolutely unbelievable. Pay $350 for a cabin over 2 nights and they cant even give us a discount for the leaked roof that left someone loosing a whole nights sleep!!

  • Colin M

This park was incredible, the staff are excellent, the amenities are fantastic and it's like a home away from home, location wise it couldn't be better, close to Hobart and the airport, public transport into town, far enough out to get that middle of nowhere feel a stones throw from the city. The restaurant and wood fired pizza are a must try, you'll be sorry if you miss them. I look forward to my next trip and staying here again.

  • Caroline Brocx

Very friendly and helpful service when booking. Late check in was no problem as I arrived on a late flight from WA. Most excellent location close to the airport. Cabin at the back of the park was great...clean, comfortable and quiet. Bus stop to Richmond right out the front. Will stay again.

Amazing spot to camp or hire a hut. Great, well kept facilities and super friendly staff. Lots of wild life around still but no pestering creatures! Free showers and flushing toilets all spotless. There is also Nates pizzeria and restaurant-really nice food for a decent price and service was outstanding, chef came out and made sure we were happy with everything! Will definitely be going back again next time were in Tasmania!

  • Janine Templar

Great place to stay if you want to spend the day touring Richmond and surrounding areas, clean facility, roomy caravan space little play ground and mini putt putt , thermal pool (was shut when we were there but reopening a few days later) beautiful meal at Nate's restaurant just a very very short stroll , and friendly staff all round,we will be staying here again. enjoy

Very good campsite, the woman at the reception was really nice and friendly. They do discount for people on there own which I thought was really cool. The unpowered sites were nice. All the facilities were really good. The "tank" shower and toilet was very nice. 5min shower but wasn't an issue for me. They do food in the evening. I had the pizza and it was genuinely very good!! Would definitely recommend it

  • Leicia Tremain

rang after closing looking for a powered site and manager on duty was extremely happy and helpful. we arranged a site and for me to call when we were 10mins away. everything went smoothly and I got a powered site for the night. extremely happy with service, communication and park. highly recommend. clean amenities. 1st time using a timed shower but loved it. all parks should have them to save water wastage.

  • Derick Murdoch

The permanent opposite to me was a Grumpy Man. But the lady's at the front counter are More than helpful and accommodating. Words can't express how Helpful they where. If I'm ever back in the area I'll be back again. Very recommend. The owners also deserve some recognition. Thanks for giving me the standard price for my small van. I really appreciated that. Thanks Barilla holiday park

  • Tom Harper

This is an interesting little park. The sites and facilities are all a bit old and could use some TLC. They are good size sites though. The showers have a time limit but it's ample (5 or 7 mins) and they are nice and warm. The mini golf is a bonus bit of fun for the kids and its conveniently located near the Coal River Valley wine region and historical Richmond township. Staff are lovely.

  • Anthea Tsanidis

Next time I visit tassie, I'll be coming back here for sure. Very welcoming and such a beautiful place and location... Thanks so much for your help and loved the chats...

Friendly staff and nice clean amenities, however the men’s shower block was not running hot water and 3 out of 4 dryers were not working. The dryer which was “working” took hours and hours to dry our clothes and cost us a fortune. A little more expensive than other parks and a little disappointing, thought we were treating ourselves to a nicer place for our last night.

  • Donna Bugden

Great park loved the privacy hedges around the campers & caravan spots. It's quiet, clean & conveniently located to Hobart but you feel like you're in the country. Pretty gardens with cute bandicoots & other wildlife running around. The converted water tank ensuites were fantastic. One of the best parks we stayed at over our 10 day holiday to Tassie.

  • Paul Madmel

Barilla Holiday Park is what I would call a great location. Not on top of the hustle and bustle, but close enough to a motorway and a quick 17 minutes to the heart of Hobart. Barilla has all the facilities you need including a Putt Putt course and wild life.

Essentially all facilities listed on the website aren't open at the moment. The most ludicrous excuse was the mini golf flags aren't out 'due to covid'. One highlight was being our last day we left the remainder of our unopened food in the kitchen for other campers, however the staff followed my wife in and helped themselves first. Stay classy.

  • Jessica Clay

I have never felt so unwelcome. Lady was rude. Advertise as pet friendly but told small dogs only. She carried on about people that stay and let their dogs bark and people leaving their dogs at the caravans on their own... she really just hated dogs. We have been travelling 12months with our dog and never felt so unwelcome, we stayed elsewhere.

  • 박지혜

I arrived little later but receptionist waited for us. she is very kind and angel!! We are not good at english but she help us with smile♡ camping site(we used powered site) was very clean, cozy and beautiful with natual We saw three cute white tail rabits! and camper's kichen was amazingly clean and convenient!

A great park, quiet, private sites...Monday night no food available....only delivery we could find was Dominoes Pizza (we cooked our own food tho) very much cheaper than the other big 2 parks...reception was pleasant and very helpful...timed showers (7 minutes) but very nice and hot...spot on place

  • Ange Rainbow

The staff here are amazing and welcoming. Beautiful relaxing setting after a long day traveling. Kids had a ball watching wallabies and birds near the creek. Clean hot showers and fantastic Pizza onsite definitely a great place to stay

Very welcoming and helpful staff! There're plants/flowers around each site which made us feel like home. The amenities are clean and well maintained. And there's a mini golf course which we had fun in. We also loved the little animals residing in the park. An amazing holiday park overall!

  • Bernice Tucker

Thank you for our last nights stay in Cambridge, your clean and tidy park , so well set out, really loved your idea of concrete tanks made into showers and toilet , great , having tree hedges between each parking area for vans RV s etc , great . , enjoyed very much. Bernice & David

  • Mishie Darke

Great park. Excellent size bays, and all that i saw had artificial grass to park alongside. Bonus to not track dirt into van. There is a putt putt course ( fees apply ) & pizza bar onsite. Good amenities, timed showers, however the time is long enough for a nice hot shower.

  • Richard 4seasonbackpacking

Great friendly campsite. With the best campsite WiFi in Tasmania since been here. Unlimited WiFi and good speed. Warm showers and clean. Campsite kitchen with microwave, cooker, toster, TV for dvd player use. Fridge. Normally 25 for 2 unpowered we got 45 for 2 nights.

  • Michael

We had our own motorhome and used one of the powered sites. Our stay was overnight but was good. We also enjoyed dinner on-site. For the short time it was a good time.

A beautiful park, very family friendly and only a short trip to Richmond one way or a little longer and you can zip down to hobart. Big bonus is they have putt putt so if you have little ones its great. And also a restaurant but im yet to try it.

  • Christine Piers

Stayed in the 2 bedroom cabins. Clean and comfortable. Plenty of utensils available. Available on site; laundry - restaurant - tourist information- also has a thermal pool and mini golf. All at additional cost. Staff were brilliant and friendly

  • Karl

Time spent tenting was a nightmare when it came to the kitchen. The kitchen was far too small (smaller than the bathroom). It was unkept with no stove. Any kitchen appliances that were actually available were disgusting and difficult to use.

  • G E

Nice office staff, nice site and has WiFi. It is way overpriced though. Not ideal for families, it only has an old run down playground. No indoor rec space. You pay extra the for use of their pool as well as having to pay for golf... it is

  • Reis M

Great spot close to Hobart and surrounds, clean and tidy with all the amenities you need while travelling. We stayed in a powered site for the night with a motorhome and the price was very reasonable.

Very nice park. We stayed in a very recently build or renovated cabin. Besides a bit of stale air the accommodation was very good. The park itself is in excellent condition.
