I was at Barry's True Value today on 12th and Northern and I just want to let you know that I'm a local homeowner and plumber with my own business and I shop there as well as at all the Aces a lot so I've gotten to know the employees pretty well. Christiana has always been so helpfull and just seems to love her job. Thatss one of the reasons i prefer shopping at true value...the customer service is par none but Christina has gone above and beyond every time im in that store. It doesnt matter what i need she is kind knowledgeable and always a great help. I must say she also has gained loads of knowledge since i first met her there about a year ago. She has blossomed there. She saved the day for me today. I had a plumbing emergency and limited time and she was able to get me in and out quickly as well as actually be a calming and positive prescence. When im stressed that is a miracle within itself so it was very much appreciated. I just wanted to let you know that your employees and the customer service in your store is top notch and from what i can tell its only getting better. Thank you very much.

Let me just say that this new location is great & the customer service is even better! The manager on duty, I believe his name was Matt, was so helpful! His excitement and pride for the new location and company was contagious and because of it - I went in for one quick thing and ended up checking out every aisle! This is why these smaller businesses are so much better than the huge chain stores, because the personalized service creates a welcoming environment and the employees take the time to actually talk to you. Thanks Matt for being so helpful and not pressuring us to spend crazy dollars on styff we dont need! This will be our new neighborhood hardware store from now on. Thank you!

Went to get some stuff to make a pulley (didn't know the name of the material I need for it, just going by the pics I got from the internet), some lady worker came to me and my 28yr old daughter when We came in and ask me what we needed and told her I was just going to look because I didn't know the name of the stuff I needed, so she just stay there looking at us for an answer so I say " can we go in or no?" She acted irritated and went to her register.... so we felt uncomfortable and left before she would find another reason to question our shopping there. Very disappointed I was never treated like that before

1. COVID19 process at the door, you have to tell the lady what you want. She was reluctant to let me inside without this. It appears that you must now be escorted by one their guardians. 2. Do not try to a valid hundred dollar bill. They will not take. I am also not the first customer who has experienced this. 3. Overpriced and since they moved to this location, way overpriced. I have been going to another ACE hardware store at 5555 N 7th Street. This store is antithetical to the Barry establishment. I am allowed to browse, use a valid hundred dollar bill and prices are fair.

So grateful this is less than a mile from my house. Their team is so helpful and always teach me what I need to do to solve my home improvement issues. Recently I found they replace or fix window screens much more inexpensive then everywhere else that I looked. They had them done in less than a week. Every time I go in there the people there are so kind and want to help you they never make me feel like I am a bother. They just added a whole smoker grill section with all of the gadgets, accessories, spices, and wood chips I need for my smoker.

The Saturday afternoon staff-- Alex, Nick, Jeff, Yvette, and Jeremiah-- provided exceptional service when my 11-y-old son and I visited the store in search of PVC pipe to construct a waffle-ball-strike-zone target. This included helping my son find all the fittings based on an image from the internet. They also helped him figure out the measurements, cut the piping accordingly, and fitted the piping together to make sure it would work. I didn't expect them to do a quarter of what they did, and I was quite pleasantly surprised.

Neighborhood store where employees greet you at the door, answer your questions, and walk you to the item. I appreciate that they open early (7 a.m.) and late (7 p.m.) on weekdays. The staff is so friendly and knowledgable. You just don't get this kind of service anymore. I always call Barry's before I order online. I know I will get my questions answered and can return or exchange without hassle. Large inventory and easy parking .They sharpen knives lots of gardening and pet stuff.

My 91 year old father was at this location today with a random list of things he needed. He is hard of hearing and moves slowly and sometimes gets confused. Austin, a newer assistant in this store, listened and made suggestions and ushered my dad around like a pro. My dad is from a different generation and Austin reinforced his belief that friendly and honest service is still alive and well. Thank you for your patience and kindness and treating us like we were important.

The best hardware store and people you will ever have the pleasure dealing with. The ENTIRE staff is more than ready and willing to help with any task at hand. If you have a question you will get an answer, not a sale. I've been coming here for over 20 years with my dad and now myself and my boy and have never left disappointed. I highly, highly recommend this True Value for anyone looking for caring staff and fair prices to suit your home improvement advebtures!

What can I say to convince you that Barry's True Value store on 12th Street at Northern Blvd is the best? I'm a 70 yr old retired former curator who now crafts but no clue about nuts and bolts, rebar, flanges, etc. I can rely on the staff to be patient, actively listen to my needs and respond appropriately. And you will too. Prices are fair, location and parking are perfect. Yet, the most important thing about Barry's is the genuine and generous staff.

I had ordered something to be picked up there and it never made it. Then the two people that were at the counter one was trying to help and answer my questions while the other was talking over them and telling them they were wrong. Just to let you know that the person that was calm and rudely spoken to was the person that helped me the most with the info I was getting from them under the yelling of other employee. Thank you.

I purchased an item for $30 and returned it an hour later due to it not being easy too access the battery. The girls told me they were doing what they could to help. But that i would be charged a 20% restocking fee. On top of this and the batteries that I purchased and returned i think ace kept close to $8 of mine. Definitely a shady store. I will never use this ace again. I should have went to home depot

Great service and a decent selection. When we walked in we were asked what we were in for by the register clerk and an appropriate sales associate was notified who met us half way through the store and guided us to exactly we were looking for. For all purpose hardware TrueValue has it covered and the customer service experience makes it an easy go to when you want something quick.

I live just down the street and come here all the time for stuff to fix up the house. The level of service reminds me of the little town of 500 people in WA I used to live in, where I also spent a lot of time at ACE. It’s nice to feel like everyone there knows you, and they’re more than happy to make a couple calls to look around for a part for you if they don’t have it in stock.

I purchased the Schumacher battery jump starter and charger rolls around on wheels I just tried it the other day and it would just show not charging . So I went got the charger out of my boat and it charged about 4 hrs and it started right. up I tried to jump off my truck with no result so I let it charge 9 hrs and it was not even charging and had a sad face on the battery

Not good customer service and manager needs to be updated since it’s a big company not good like homedepot police when it comes to return stuff. They don’t want accept their own tools and telling me I opened and used when I told them there was missing part for the tool to be used spend $ 43 no more going in that store worse worse customer satisfaction and return policy

Wow! Greeted in a friendly way at the door, totally uncomplicated, navigable aisles, with really anything you want or need for a home fix-it project--I will be coming here from now on, instead of the big name stores where you get lost and waste all kinds of time trying to flag people down. With True Value, it's all right there, or they can get it to you within a day.

Awesome hardware store! They were great before they expanded into the larger space and are better than ever in the larger store as they now have more items like lumber so I can get all I need for small projects right around the corner! The neighborhood has experienced some setbacks in the retail area but Barry's is truly a shining star in the area!

Been going here for years but my last experience there wasent good they have a very rude cashier lady and manager dosent seem to care. Well you lost my business for sure I will never go back it's sad how people can treat there customers. Dont waste your time go to home depot down the road. Get rid of the people that are pushing your customers away.

Bob has been working here for decades! I could not believe how helpful he was with my problem. He took it, cut the metal, found the new metal fastener, pounded it together and gave to me. Told me to tell the guy at the counter to charge under four dollars! I was so happy I didn’t go to Home Depot! Going back to this place next time! Bob rocks!

They are in the middle of a remodel so things were a little disorganized that as always everyone was really friendly and helpful. It never fails, whenever I go here someone always ask me if I need any help. This is as opposed to Home Depot where you can wander up and down the aisles half an hour and not one person will ask if you need help

We were surprised to see how much this hardware store has. We would usually drive further to go to another hardware store but after visiting this store, we will come here in the future. We came for one item and found they had a few other things on our shopping list (including chicken food), saving us some trips. Will definitely return!

Terrible place left my hand truck and 4 wheeler in the uhaul . When I called I got the runaround and I got got hung up on. These people are have criminals working so don’t leave anything in your uhaul. Very unprofessional and rude. Worse place ever. go somewhere else or you will be treated horrible

Customer Service can be nonexsistant to downright rude. Except Matt, he is always quick to help and very kind. I frequent this store because of the convenience of location. If there were other options near the same distance I would definately go there instead.

Friendly knowledgeable staff. Support your local hardware stores. Only thing I've had to go to a big box for is large lumber and stainless steel pipe fittings. They have basically everything else and you don't have to walk 3 miles to get to it.

This is about the U-haul service only. There's only one person servicing the U-Haul: he has no help and his frustration shows. Four star because everything was fine except for the wait to pick-up and to drop-off.
