"A rather tired and empty looking of playground featuring a revolving inverted seesaw suspended from a pole and looking like a piece of scrap salvaged from an oil field - but the kids loved it"
Well this was my childhood park . It used to support birds and small animals through its huge bushes and trees , Not any more , the 2m boarders are no longer able to support the wild life of old , the bushes and trees we used to hide in as dens all gone , The children's playground was empty , Its the Easter holidays, I wonder why , may be its because its so boring no child would wish to.play there ,the slide the swings the swinghorses even the seesaw all gone . Then there is what used to be the heart of the park , the shelter, which used to have a kitchen at the back and teas and coffees cakes ect could be bought , now all bricked up, you can't even sit in the shelter as the Park authorities obviously feel that replacing long wooden bench is beyond their abilities . It breaks my heart . Barnet council you should hang your head in shame .
I recently had the chance to visit Basing Hill Park and I must say it was a great experience. The park was very nice, with plenty of trees and green areas to enjoy. However, it was a bit dirty with some overflowing bins, which was a bit off-putting. Despite this, the park was still a great place to visit. The playground was a great addition, and there were plenty of benches and picnic tables to rest on. The only downside was the dirtiness, but other than that it was a great park to visit.
Too many dog walkers letting their dogs off lead, including large dog, letting them approach other dogs who are clearly on lead. Unsafe to have dogs off lead in such a small space and so close to roads, especially the Hendon Way! Shocking actually. When we visit at less popular times, it's lovely. With the prevalence of dog attacks, let's get rules in place to keep dogs on lead in small spaces such as this. We already avoid Clitterhouse playing fields for exactly this reason!!
Very easy to run in this park, especially when you have children. Good for small facilities such as playing football, Badminton, volleyball, or just walking the dog. This park is located a few blocks distance to Golders Green Station. It has a few benches around and rubbish bins. During the winter season, the gates get close at 4 p.m.
A rather tired and empty looking of playground featuring a revolving inverted seesaw suspended from a pole and looking like a piece of scrap salvaged from an oil field - but the kids loved it. Additional large square of featureless lawn.
An average park in North London. It has a nice grassy area for ball games or a picnic, but the playground is a bit basic with no swings. Theres also a basketball/football court next to the playground.
A lovely park to visit , it has a small playing area for children as well as tennis courts for the more athletic. The park itself is quite small and it is a park visited regularly by dog walkers
The playground is not suitable for the little ones. There are no swings or slides. There is nothing to do ... it is very noisy because of the nearby highway.
Very nice space, needs more management of dog walkers not clearing up their mess, not great for young toddlers etc running around in the grass
Beautiful small park and has a lovely running stream and ducks. Nice scenery and great to stretch your legs. Well worth a walk round. …
Simple uninspiring square green space , Though it does have a small play area and basketball court. There is also a bike club on Saturdays
Nice baseball field. Some good facilities. Shady spaces if needed.
Restrooms
One toilet was out of order.
Nice park, lots of benches available and a playground for kids. The green space is pleasant and kept tidy.
A peaceful place to walk your dog, it's never too crowded so this little gem should be kept as it is.
Friendly park , for training and running ! Nothing special about it very convenient for me !
There so many place to take your kids here, you can run or playing basketball/football
Not like the nicest Park in the area. Tiny playground and some basketball courts
Great divide of space between playground, cage and open grass, spacious
Small park, has a little basketball area, green space and some benches
Blissful and peaceful even on the busiest summer days!
