This joint is awesome and has been a long time supporter of DJ Culture and the associated music production scene as well as the street art scene in the ATL. It's a great place to dig in some stacks of vinyl (Hip-Hop, Funk, Soul, Boogie, Disco and some House), get turntables repaired, purchase refurbished 1200 turntables or other DJ / DAW controllers, DJ accessories (slipmats, needles, adaptors, stabilizers, cables, you name it), rent speakers & equipment for your event or buy paint for your next mural / street art project. I'm no street painter but there's a massive selection of spray paint colors in the store. It's cool to see! I have done business with BeatLab at their prior location in the Poncey -Highland area and some biz with the now defunct & loosely associated prior two More Dusty Than Digital stores...so I have a long history with this store as does Atlanta. I've bought records here on multiple occasions, they have carried records I have put out, they have bailed me out with a quickness on multiple turntable repairs over the years, my wife has purchased a couple of portable turntables here for Christmas presents for her niece & nephew and I refer fellow DJ's (locally & regionaly) + venues I do business with here to buy refurbished 1200 turntables with NICE custom paint jobs (which I then get to play on myself) as well as other DJ equipment they may need. I have even played events were they were the rental service for the speakers, turntables and mixer. I highly recommend BeatLab to anyone needing any of the above mentioned items. They are fairly priced too! Hard to beat!

Beatlab is the best DJ, music supply store in Atlanta. They have great customer service skills and they were able to fix my turntable. They are the most honest techs around aswell.. I brought my Pioneer CDJs 2000 Nexus player in their store to fix the LCD light on it. He could have fixed the simple problem and over charged me. But yet, they were honest. They told me it wasn't worth getting it fix if it is still working because nothing was wrong with the CDJ player. Who does that? Before you get anything DJ Controller, speakers, turntables, or mixers, please call them first. They also knows how to customize your Technic 1200s too.

I have visited this location a few times in an attempt to shop locally only to unfortunately have no success. Communication has been an issue in the past as any employee “working” here is too “cool” to approach a customer and be of any help. Communication issues presented themselves again when I called today - which prompted my previous review. After reviewing BeatLab’s response below and their false recap of the situation, I will definitely not be returning.

  • Robert Clements

This Is one of the only independent stores that caters to very specific tastes.this is as root down as you can get! The service is impeccable and the employee is one of the nicest helpful people around. He’ll have your equipment fixed faster than any other available source.and is always willing, when time permits to discuss help you understand how to get directly to what you may need in your setup.Been shopping here for a long time!buy Beatlab and get the best!

  • Gray Schaufler

This place sucks. Just called to see if they were interested in purchasing a pair of mint condition Technics 1210 M5G turntables with flight cases. The guy that answered the phone didn't know how to converse. I first asked him what he thought they were worth and he never gave me an answer (as I have no idea what they are worth). Don't waste your time supporting this local business - head to Guitar Center!!!

  • Chandler Creel

I brought my turntable and receiver by beatlab last Saturday to ask about a buzzing sound. I was greeted warmly and one employee spent several minutes talking with me about my set up and answered all my questions. Even though they didn't sell the part I needed, he recommended I search on eBay. Part ordered, problem solved. Great guys. Great customer service. I'll be finding a reason to go back.

Went to the store based on the recommendation of a good friend who knows the owner. Unfortunately, Mega wasn't there. Decent selection but it was a very unwelcoming vibe from the staff. No "hello", "can we help you?" or anything. I spoke to one employee who didn't respond. Mind you, I'm the only person in the store. I asked the other guy a quick question and left. Won't be returning here.

  • rickybettini

Very nice place, lots of good stuff in there but my friend and I walked in for about a minute and we're browsing, the dude working at the front asked us if we were looking for anything particular then glared at us and said they were closed, even though when we walked out we saw more customers walk in. Big fan of everything that was there but I have no idea what we did to get kicked out

  • matthew moore

Went to the store based on the recommendation, but the staff didn't seem knowledgeable about the products. Didn't recommend using a turntable protractor for correct alignment, sold me a stylus that wasn't compatible with my turntable, then charged me labor for installing something that didn't work. I'm not coming back and better off reading forums and researching on my own

  • Kenny Marshall (DJ Kenny B)

This shop came highly recommended by DJ's I trust. Mega was be ry knowledgeable and professional. Purchased 2 used 1200 MK2's a reasonable price. Because I was traveling back to Chicago with them, I wanted to fully test them before packing and transporting. When there was an issue, he was more than willing to make it right. Will do business with them in the future.

  • Omari McCleary

Vinyl is well curated for samples, instrumentals, breaks and scratching and priced to move. I wish I spent more time digging. There is a pro/tru head vibe to the place because of the tech multitasking but don't feel intimidated just go in there and explore, and staff are there if you need assistance. There is trill energy in the stacks. Found some real cool stuff

  • DJ Kerosene

A true gem of Atlanta. Can’t count how many times Mega has saved me throughout the years with equipment repairs, consults, orders, and more. Every other working DJ in the city can vouch for this too. The go-to spot for all of us. The expertise, service, professionalism, availability, and inventory is unmatched. The city and community is lucky to have Beatlab!

  • Brian Pflieger

Mega hand selected stunning hip-hop vinyl that I could spin, listen, make selections and purchase. 'Obvious' and underground gems are among an enormous stock. A larger selection of hip-hip/rap vinyl in Atlanta I have not seen...and have looked! This is where it lives. He's also rewired and equipped my Technics 1200M3D turntable. This is a fantastic shop.

  • Jeremy McDonald

This is such a great place. My wife and I went there in April. Found loads of gems very reasonably priced, comparable to discogs. Good used and new gear selection. highly recommended. Staff is definitely pro level knowledgeable. Hip hop is the strongest section, electronic was very good. They even have short stools to big on the bottom rack. A+++++

  • Alfred Kitchens

Amazing spot to get the best I professional equipment, this is the heart of Atlanta kinda reminds me of Rock & Soul in New York.I bought some equipment software 2months ago only find out I wouldn't need it so I wanted to return it without a receipt and he gave me no problem. I only paid the restocking fee . AI BUSINESS MAN!

  • jason ospina

I have been coming here off and on for a long time. Each time I was greeted, welcomed, and helped to the best of everyone's capability. I have never once experienced anyone that didn't acknowledge me. All questions answered in intellectual and soulful manner. We are blessed to have such a place .

  • Cheril Nicole

This place is not in an obvious location, but once you find it around back you'll be greeted with great customer service and a chill vibe. A salesperson at Best Buy sent me to Beatlab because they didn't have what I was looking for and I found what I needed at Beatlab. Thanks!

  • Darnik “Spock” McAlpin

I took my Tech 1200 MK2 in because I was getting noise and uneven levels going into my MPC, I had both turntables back within 24 hours with new RCA cables and internal ground. This guy is the truth, and the only place I will take my DJ Equipment to get fixed or serviced.

  • Spencer “I Play Too Much” B.

Small but seems right to the point. From the moment I walked in I knew this place was focused on Hip-hop. Most of the records section was hip-hop. I did find some gems so that's always good. But just know if your looking for hip-hop (used), you might want to start here.

  • Drew

This place is really great. It came highly recommended. The manager on duty was "Books". He was very knowledgeable and professional. Most of all, I could tell that he really cared about the customers. He treated me like family the minute I walked in the door.

  • James Shackleford

They had just what I needed. I had been to three other larger businesses and they didn't have it. I am so glad that they had it and the service was a lot better. It was quick and just by showing him the piece he knew what I needed. Awesome experience.

  • King Marcellus

I have to say that this is world famous for a reason. It's a DJs dream come true. And a vinyl collection for the vinyl collectors. Mega is the man with the repairs and custom paint work. Definitely stop by and check this jewel out if your in Atlanta.

  • Christopher Allen

It took them 2 days to repair my DJ mixer without any appointment! This is the greatest service I've ever received in my life. Not to mention the staff is very cool and friendly. I've been there numerous times and would recommend this place to anyone

  • Lonely Bones

Didn't go in cause I was looking for Tornado Tattoo! Apparently that place has been gone for years and years.... BUT y'all have a buncha great graffiti outside (which I added to) and the whole parking lot smells like herb so I give it a thumbs up

  • Jasmine Hargrove

Extremely helpful over the phone and in person. I recently decided to switch to vinyl and needed a stylus pressure gauge so that my calibration would be on point. Not only did they have exactly what I needed it was also a very competitive price.

  • jarrad

This lil hidden gem in Atlanta has a small selection of equipment- but all the things available are well worth the stop. Tons and tons of hip hop, soul and etc. records to flip and sample for cheap. The guy at the counter led me the right

  • Amar Chebib

I was visiting from out of town for a few days and in a bind looking for audio gear to record an interview. Mega from Beatlab was very kind, generous and helped us out on a whim. I'd definitely hit them up again for any audio needs.
