Our salesman was really great and helped us create a set of 8 dining chairs in a beautiful Zepal velour fabric. After a few months' wait, we were disappointed that all of our chairs had damage done to the velour during the chair-making process. This was mainly on the seats, coming from right to left. The chair maker must have scoured the material with some sort of tool during the making process. Berkowitz were initially very good, advising that the chairs would be replaced. But we found out that the maker was the weak link in the chain - they are called Sun and Sun. They didn't want t re-make the chairs because they didn't want to lose money. We spoke with Mr Berkowitz himself, who also didn't want to lose money on the sale, and asked us to pay for the chairs to be re-done, despite acknowledging the fabric damage. It wasn't reasonable for us to pay twice for the chairs. We asked if Mr Berkowitz could arrange for another chair maker in Melbourne to make the chairs, but he said that Sun and Sun were the only people they use. Berkowitz gave us a refund. The level of after sales service was poor. They even asked us to speak with Sun and Sun, who we found had a third world approach to customer service and Australian warranty rules. We shouldn't have been referred to Sun and Sun since Berkowitz sold us the chairs. It took 2 months after the chairs were delivered damaged for Berkowitz to switch from saying we will fix the chairs to we won't fix the chairs, but will give you a refund instead. They also downplayed the damage, despite the delivery man, and later, a Berkowitz assessor, who came over to see the chairs and advised that we can't sell you chairs that look like that. During the 2 months, we asked Berkowitz if we could have loan chairs while they were umming over our damaged chairs. They were kind enough to give us loan chairs, which meant that we had chairs over XMAS for our family gatherings. However, it was a shame that after a 6 month wait for our custom made chairs, we were obliged to go elsewhere to get chairs. We went to Berkowitz because they advertise that they are a family business. We weren't made to feel a part of the family.

The range of examples on the showroom floor is excellent. The range of material options is also excellent. I really appreciated the option of choosing Australian made furniture. The staff are friendly and helpful and not just 'hard sell' but prepared to listen and provide options. The delivery service is timely, very careful and polite - in fact it is the best I have experienced. We have purchased two sofas and one sofa bed through Berkowitz Furniture and I have found they offer a well proportioned blend of options, quality, style, price and service. I am a very happy customer. For people looking to purchase furniture of quality that will provide years of function, pleasure and style, Berkowitz Furniture is a 'must' to add to your list of companies to visit. We are very pleased we did.

Very disillusioned with Berkowitz and their after sales service. The on floor team at the Moorabbin were fantastic, helpful and sympathetic. The customer service at management level is the opposite. I purchased a Molmic sofa and armchair and to my disappointment once they were positioned in my lounge area, the dimensions of the furniture did not work in the space. I was offered no alternative other than you bought it, you are stuck with it. The terms and conditions do state that in this instance, the company can use their discretion to assist however there was none offered. So disappointed.

We bought a sofa and two armchairs from the Auburn shop and we are very pleased with our purchase, the quality, the craftsmanship and the comfort it offers. The shopping experience was also pleasant and with no stress. Winnie Lee answered all our many many questions, had plenty of patience with us and the most important, she was not pushy, she did not try to influence us, and she gave us as much information as possible. The set is elegant and comfortable and made in Australia. We've tried many shops before and many products but Berkowitz was definitely the winner.

Earlier this year we purchased two new leather recliners from Berkowitz Blackburn. One of the recliners recently developed a minor fault which we reported to the Store. The Staff responded with friendly and willing assistance and arranged for a Company Representative from IMG to call at our home to inspect the problem and carry out any needed repairs. The follow-up was prompt and the Recliner has been fixed to our total satisfaction. Well done Berkowitz and IMG. John and Sandy Tuininga.

Do not purchase the Balmain sofa bed. It is terrible quality. I bought this during Covid so couldn’t test the bed myself but was sold this terrible sofa bed over the phone, as comfortable and great quality. I complained to berkowitz and they sent someone out to test it, who said it is within standard quality and pretty much said, ah well, we sold you a dud and won’t do anything about it. Everyone who used this sofa bed complains how bad it is.

He was not a pushy sales person, but offered awesome advice and was extremely responsive to our 'many' questions and doubts. Very happy with the whole Berkowitz experience. Sales staff very knowledgeable and took me through the lift chair's key features - advice given was useful in helping me work out which one would best suit my needs. Very helpful service from Caroline at the Berkowitz Blackburn store, in understanding the options and material finishes available including the coordination of the finishes. Caroline spent a lot of time with us, no pressure selling, just very knowledgeable and experienced in the products. We selected two Power Chairs and one 3 Seater Sofa. They work well in our new home and we are very happy with the final outcome.

Usually don't review but we were so impressed with the service we received when purchasing a Yoko table at the Essendon store and then pick up at the factory outlet later in the week. Before we collecting the table we realised we'd ordered the wrong size table and had to change. The process was smooth and with just enough communication to ensure everything went well. Definitely a good place to shop for furniture!

I’m a local guide. Feeling very accommodating and no pressure for sale indeed as other reviews said. At blackburn store, we Came in on a Sunday late afternoon 4:20pm and still feeling welcomed, the floor staff knows their product very well. Very good price and good design. Ended up buying here. Surprised to know this is a long running business from the heritage photo also.

Excellent in-store experience. We had a very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable sales person. They knew their products, warranties, and provided accurate delivery estimates. Store had a wide selection of furniture pieces available to browse. Pleasant shopping experience. Office administration was also very good, when calling to arrange delivery. Would buy from again.

We purchased 2 IMG Chelsea recliners in a Warwick fabric. The sales staff made our decision very easy and were nice to deal with and the delivery people were fantastic too. Almost 2 years later, they are still beautiful chairs. We had a knocking problem with one of the recliners which was rectified easily without any dramas at all. I would highly recommend Berkowitz.

Went to the Berkowitz Store to look at clearance items. Don't bother. Items are not heavily discounted as a clearance store should be. Would be better off shopping for pieces once they go on sale. In the time that we were there, approximately 5 other people walked in and out as we did also. Wouldn't go back but the items seemed to be of a decent quality.

From sales team, right through to production and delivery team, the company employees were professional to say the least. Furthermore, the customisation options and quality of product only adds more value to the design one likes. Overall a great product and service the company provides. What’s more is that the products are assembled here in Australia.

Very knowledgeable staff who went out of their way to understand what I was after. When testing furniture in other stores, many were similar in feel. I was very surprised by the Berkowitz furniture difference. There is a noticeable comfort and quality. Bought a sofa bed for the kids - it's actually comfortable to sleep on! Berkowitz is a long established furniture store with courteous, patient and knowledgeable staff. Usually have a wide range on display. All the furniture we have purchased has been high quality and will last many years. They do not sell junk. The delivery people are very careful and arrive at the appointed time.

I recently purchased the Oxley lounge from the Artarmon store. I am very happy with the quality of my purchase. The leather is lovely and soft and the lounge is comfortable and well made. Store Manager Robert Liddell was very helpful and was happy to sit down with me to explain the different options available.

The dining room table was found to have an imperfection,chisel mark on one edge which was identified a couple of weeks after it was delivered to us. Berkowitz Geelong had no hesitation in organising for this table to be replaced with a new one.

Bought a Weave rug 3x2 mtrs. 50% bamboo 25% wool 25% viscous. Very disappointed after 2 years showing signs of wear and dirty even after cleaning it. Should have bought a all wool rug.
