USED to be a nice park until a majority of incoming neighbors allowed their dogs off leash. This is NOT an off leash park. Portland has a number of available off leash parks and dog parks but despite this, I consistently walk past the park with my dogs only to see large numbers of off leash dogs running around. I've also witnessed a group of people doing off leash obedience training with as many as 6-7 dogs at once! Once you've had your leashed dog attacked by an off leash dog you steer clear of parks like this. We've lived here since 2006 and pay hefty taxes only not to be able to access our neighborhood park. Please, for the sake of the safety of those who want a safe place to enjoy and walk our dogs, LEASH YOUR DOGS AT BERRYDALE PARK.

This park was great for all sorts of activities. We used it for a softball practice since there's a diamond there and plenty of field to hit in. (It's also close to the batting cages on Stark.) The lower diamond is normally dirt but it was all grown in last weekend. Maybe they don't tend to it in the winter, who knows? We were still able to hold a successful practice. While we were there, we saw basketball players, a girl practicing discus, bikers, families and dog walkers all equally enjoying the spacious park too. Sadly, some of those dog walkers didn't scoop... so watch out for land mines! EEEEEW!

People in the community that were there seemed to be very friendly and respectful, didn't see any homeless hanging out at all they got 2 play structures basically one by the school and the other in the main park which is cool has the old school play ground type with the tieder todders, the tall stainless slide with metal steps a merry go round. The park was clean, plenty of parking all around and peaceful all around and not over crowded at all!

Ok for frizbee, dogs walks. Nice big neighborhood park but could have been thought out better. Only a few people can use it at the same time. Lots of trees, would be a great lunch destination but there's only two benches. The the playground feels a little disconnected. It has an odd 2-swing swing set. One for babies and one for everyone else. I think it has a small community garden but I've never seen anyone working in it.

This is a great park. There are quite a few people out here walking their dogs or eating a picnic lunch. There are a number of COVID signs posted but we didn't find any in English so I couldn't tell you what they said. Probably something relaying the social distancing requirements. I would recommend visiting this park. Go on a pretty day, bring your dog and toddlers.

I grew up coming to this park. It was by far my favorite Park in Portland when I was a child. Now I live a couple blocks away. It still hold a special place in my heart. I love the big old trees and the fact that there are sports fields in addition to an actual playground. The Merry-Go-Round maybe it's best feature.

This sweet park makes this area of Montavilla a best kept secret. Oops, I just let the cat out of the bag. Seriously, so many people think 82nd Ave. is the end of the world, I mean city, but this park has a wonderful neighborhood feel and is an easy walk to all the cute businesses on and around SE Stark.

I grew up here going to the elementary school, broke my wrist on the slide, enrolled my son in headstart Met the love of my life here, suntanned with my son while being pregnant, jumped the fence and ate people's veggies and fruit and threw my wedding ring into the garden and never found it.

I wouldn't suggest you to stay there. Constantly having police called to this motel, room's flooding of water, people taking there own lives, AMR ( ambulance all times of the night to early mornings. Also every room has a diffrent price, and the workers are very, very rude!!! …

Wish the entire park was fenced in other then that I love it I go with my dog every single day for a walk it would be nice if there were restrooms but there are lots of picknick tables and an playground is also nice lots of things to do lots of space just no fence

  • Camille

There are two different places where jagged metal is jutting out of the playground equipment and could injure someone. I love dogs but am weary of having my toddler play in a dog park. I'm not sure it was a dog park but it seemed like it the day I was there.

  • Francesca Yvonne

Sweet, small park with limited playground equipment, picnic tables and lovely shade trees. Adjacent to a large dog park and an elementary school. Well-patrolled by police and beautifully maintained by the city :) Only drawback: no restrooms of any kind.

  • Alony Chanda

Nice place to sit and have lunch at. Not to crowded and very little people in the park but it is nice and peaceful when I was sitting in my friends car with her and we had our windows rolled down, while eating our lunch and it was nice and peaceful.

  • Rhoda Kameroff

A great park with playtoys for the kids, a drinking fountain, plenty of lawn for the well behaved off leash dogs to chase freesbies, balls and justhad plain stretch thier legs. Enjoyable walk with my smaller dog, an area that has doggy bags

  • Michelle Harris

A small quaint neighborhood park with picinic benches, sun and shade. There are a variety of beautiful trees. The park is nestled up against a neighborhood community garden. Family friendly with a playground for little ones. Not too busy.

  • Johnpaul Morton

It's an average park. Nothing special about it. A slide and some swings. They do concerts in the park here during the summer which is fun and there is a large open area for sporty sport stuff. But mostly it's average.

  • Pete Richardson

I lived off-grid in rural Nicaragua for two years to get out of a neighborhood grocery co-op. All that to say, Berrydale park is no different from any other city park. So it’s great but don’t expect anything special.

  • Josh Bradburn

Berrydale Community Garden is on of the hidden gems of Portland, rumored to be rated the most beautiful out of the 42 in the area and is beautifully diverse culturally. Will definitely keep gardening for years!

  • Brittany Chapa

Went here to eat on my lunch break with my husband and our puppy. No one was there which was really nice. Puppy loved it and it was nice and shady and quiet. I'd come back!

  • Paula Palmquist

There are picnic tales under fir trees near a childs playground, baseball field, open grassy areas and off street parking . It is best to go during the day for safety

  • Antigonus Rose

I love walking by and seeing all the beautiful children and dogs playing outside. They have a community garden too, and I think gardens are vital to the community.

  • Grant Williams

Clean park with a nice community garden on the north end. My kids play soccer here often. Not a dangerous park at all. No homeless people present usually.

  • M Strange

Things were fine until a little boy dropped trou and tried peeing on my child, traumatizing her. The kids dad didn't really do anything about it either.

  • R Bon

Merry-go-round, slide, swings, teeter totter for kids play area. Lots of people with dogs roaming unleashed all around park and around kids play area.

  • Kathleen

Cute little park with a play ground, basketball court, baseball field, picnic tables. Hosts Free concerts in August. And attached public gardens.

  • Melinda Dominguez

Really small neighborhood park.... Great spot for a quick run around with the kids.... Sometimes has a homeless issue... But otherwise cute.

  • M Wickman

We have a space in the garden, its one of the very few wholesome activities that, so far, redeem me in the eyes of society. Have a good one!

  • Exuro Piechocki

Medium sized park with a few picnic tables, a playground, and a baseball diamond. Tall trees throughout most of the park provide shade.

  • melinda trietsch
