Terrible, awful, horrible. The store cannot be reached by phone. You reach different outsourced services. I went to the store to buy a product there was virtually no staff. The merchandise is below street level and there is one person posing as a security guard. Did not feel safe for one minute . after much searching I found a lady to help me . She was terrific! Her name is Jackie. Truth be told if not for her I never would have bought the product. I asked for the name of the manager so that I could tell them how terrific she was. She told me her immediate bosses name was Ronaldo. He was not in that day, but would be in the next day. I called the store three times! There was no way to speak with him, but with whomever I spoke, they said they would have to send him an email to have him call me and he would call me within a half an hour. Never got a phone call from him. Went to the store to tell him about Jackie. He was not the least bit interested. I was supposed to have my product and the geek squad at my apartment, I was told, between 10 and two today, that never happened! They were to call me a half an hour before they would be here that never happened! Seven phone calls to the only number I have, which never took me to the store got me seven different stories! Each person, supposedly, checked the computer and gave me a different window of time for the technician to come. Never got the same story twice! After telling them that I thought the right thing to do would be not to charge me the $150 just as a matter of a good customer service since I had to sit in the house all day an amazing thing happened ! I received a call from someone who was on his way home, but was told to come and connect my product to the Internet. He did come. He was very nice. He did a very good job. Distress with the phone calls was beyond anything one would consider tolerable. Only one person in the eight calls with whom I spoke was able to speak an understandable English. I would not ever go to the store. I would not ever recommend this store to anyone. IT IS A MIGRAINE, WAITING TO HAPPEN! I feel it only fair to add that after Saturdays nightmare I had to go back to the store, due to incorrect information that I got from a member of the geek squad. Ricky, one of the store, managers, helped me immediately and most successfully. He came as soon as he was paged he presented himself in a most gentlemanly way. He was very knowledgeable, and took care of all the things I needed taking care of.

There was an older women sitting down who came before me the lady came up to ask a geek squad rep a question and the response gave off an unnecessary irritated tone to an older woman who had been waiting longer than me and she was just concerned with a question; i felt bad because the worker was rude responding short; saying she did not have an appt she needed to just have a seat and wait. I was late for my appointment so when I came to ask the woman if she could still help she gave me the same tone she did with the woman just rude very short with her answers so i said cool I will wait patiently had to use the restroom walked over and realized it needed a code i asked her for the code and she told me to go back over there and just ask someone by the restroom to open the door as she continued to help a colleague whom was having trouble with a customers laptop. I waited for a short time thereafter before i showed the associate my laptops broken screen she said best buy will take 5 weeks to fix while apple will take two weeks it’s best to go to apple so i thanked her and proceeded to walk away then she says when you go to apple just make sure your on time for your appointment. Never have I had an experience like this at any store just horrible i just spent 200 dollars on a protection plan and over a thousands dollars on a laptop with best buy to be talked to like 2 cents… this will be my last time thanks to that experience

I am just sad there is no negative number star option for entire BestBuy company and this location. I would give it a negative 5. I purchased a drone online, scheduled it for pickup at this location. Soon after that I received an email with 7 other orders worth $4000, meaning that my BestBuy store credit card got “hacked”. I immediately called and reported it. They disputed charges and sent me a new credit card. However, I wanted to keep a drone, the order that I have made. They said no problem, it will be ready in couple of days to pickup. Few days after, I received notification that the drone is ready to pickup and I went to the store. Upon arrival, clerk told me that “someone picked up a drone 20 minutes before me.” I got upset, called store manager that ignored me, pretended to do something when he was just calling a bank and spending time on the phone. He said that he made a claim and gave me a claim number. I was waiting few weeks for the claim to get settled. No response. I called BestBuy and Citibank that issues a card for the store, they told me that claim was never made. So I made a claim that both BestBuy and Citibank denied, stated that it has nothing to do with them. I tried to make a claim again, contacted NYSFD, but my claim never got resolved. So I ended up paying $860 for something that I never received. Don’t let thieves fool you!

Terrible experience. Their website said they had the phone I wanted in stock. I went in, they pulled out the one I wanted, and started ringing me up. The cashier said "You'll want to buy the warranty." I said "no, thank you, I don't want it." She reached over to my side of the counter and hit "accept" on the screen and said "Yeah, you're gonna want it." I said no, again - and pointed out the new screen said I'd be rebilled for 24 months. She said "Oh, you won't be rebilled." I said "I don't want it!" She said "Okay, I'll put in our store credit card, so that when it rebills you, it'll charge us." I said "That - doesn't make any sense, and I said I don't want it. I don't want to say it again." She said "Okay, you know what, we don't have the phone you wanted in stock." And she took the one that she had just rang up, wouldn't let me see the box, and put it in a cupboard. She said I should go to another store. What kind of petty scam are they trying to run here? I'm not allowed to buy the phone if I don't sign up for their scummy service plan?

On Sunday August 27, 2023 at 7.00pm in the Best Buy store located at the corner of 86th street and Lexington avenue in Manhattan, we met Jay LANCASTER « the rudest Green Mountain Energy salesman » . He tried to make us sign a contract without allowing us to read it. We offered to give our email address to consider subscribing because we were really interested but he refused, saying that he would get $100 only if we signed the contract onsite and that he had no interest in taking our email address if we did not want to sign immediately. He was very rude and said very mean things like « thanks for letting me do my pitch for nothing » or « I’m sure your jobs are not environment-sensitive » and he was laughing with his « intern » (who had a mcDonalds meal in her hand btw), saying that he was used to hearing the same kind of excuses. We were actually very interested in green energy but we definitely won’t deal with Green Mountain Energy and if you go to Best Buy, don’t waste your time with this rude guy whose only interest is to make money.

I was on a quick break, I knew exactly what I wanted, knew exactly where they were and I wanted to be in and out. After asking a staff member to unlock the headphones out of the display case, I waited at least 15-20 minutes for someone to come down to the department to help me. Finally, a security guard who noticed me pacing around the department waiting asked me if I needed help. He sent me to the dept manager again who finally decided to help me directly. I wasted almost almost half an hour in this store watching staff more interested in socializing and joking around with each other than helping customers. It's no wonder why ppl have turned away from retail stores and have come to the same conclusion I did after this recent visit to what once was one of my favorite stores of all-time: "I should've just got this off Amazon." Kudos to the super-attentive security btw but, otherwise, what a shame. I won't be back unless absolutely necessary.

Don't go to this best buy, this store is filled with inexperienced and unhelpful workers. For the past few years, this store went from being my favorite local best buy store to being the worst. I always admired that Best Buy cared about helping the customers over the overall sale of the product, not like PC Richard. This best buy will just have you spend a bunch of money on things you don't need, so make sure you know exactly what you are buying before you come to this best buy, if you really need to come. The geek squad at that location can only handle software issues on your computer, phone, or tablet. I still recommend Best Buy overall, as options are few, but just go to another Best Buy location because this 86 street location is not it.

I went into this store for less than 5 minutes to see if they had something I wanted and as I was leaving I was approached by security and told that if I came back I would be arrested for trespassing because I supposedly stole something. When security saw I didn’t have anything he pulled out a picture and said I was there before shoplifting. I told the security if he would like to step outside and get a beat down because 1 I was being called a thief and 2 I was furious because I’m sure this had to be racial profiling because that was the first time that I’ve ever been there because I didn’t even know there was a best buy in the area

The store looks well maintained but the inventory is lacking. Shelves seem empty & products far in between. Staff was courteous, polite and professional. But the primary reason I would go to a physical store is to see the products themselves and get them the very same day. I purchased two sunpak tripods. I won't capitalize their company name since the things are built out of straw it seems and fell apart as I was carefully unpacking it. I don't know why Best Buy would chose to have such instant expiry products in their inventory. I'll be throwing away both tripods as they seem unreliable for any purpose at all.

The shelves look empty like no one even stocks them at all. I also noticed most of the employees just stand around and if you walk up to one ask for help. They will tell you they in break. This isn't the first time I visit this bestbuy. The guy who helped me at the register was so rude. I think he doesn't like his job or was bother by the fact. That I needed help with a item that was behind the register. I will just go to noho the bestbuy there has a very friendly staff. They greet you at the door and are always willing to help out. I know now why the store in noho is so liked.

I love Best Buy but this one has 2 stars because of the absence of staff and the low quality service. Compared to the other Best Buy stores, this one is dreading. It’s absolutely empty and I’m not surprised. Almost impossible to find somebody to assist you in this store. Nobody is interested in taking care of you or making sales. They hang out with one another and when you ask for help it’s as if you’re bothering them. Doesn’t anybody care about what they do anymore? I try so hard to avoid this Best Buy. Just when I give it another chance, I’m kicking myself for knowing better.

Came to buy a new tv and Fitbit. Had done research before and knew what I wanted and was ready to spend some money. Too bad it doesn’t seem like anybody actually works here. Was standing in each section with my bf, and couldn’t find a single person to help us. I thought this place had nice employees, some have been helpful in the past. But this time there was nobody to be found for tvs or watches. Really disappointing, frustrating, and mad. Would much rather support local places, but now I will be buying things from Amazon instead. Way to lose a loyal customer. :(

DO NOT GO THERE!!! This store is a JOKE. I purchased an over $1,000 vacuum from Dyson there today. When I arrived home and opened the box, I realized that not only it was the wrong vacuum inside the box but the vacuum was also damaged and dirty. I immediately went back to the store to exchange it, they made me wait over 20 mn while they were trying to locate another one, to finally refund me after having me wait for almost half an hour. The store is a mess, so dirty and disorganized. People working there have absolutely NO IDEA what they are doing.

I don't mean to be harsh but this store needs a refresh!! Everything is falling apart, the interior walls are filthy, and there's no product in the store. Their warehouse is old and worn out. I should know I worked there for some time half a decade ago. The men's bathroom stalls, walls, and urinal haven't been fixed in at least 2 years. The staff is helpful, but the energy is gone, and there aren't enough of them. The site has so many electronic everywhere it's like walking through a maze. Message to the "upper management" Invest IN YOUR STORE!!

The 2 women at the pickup station are very rude and unhelpful. I had ordered something for pick up which on the bestbuy website says “ready in 1 hour” i show up to the store 2 hours after the order was placed and gave her my confirmation number. She starts arguing and giving attitude about how the store doesn’t receive orders until 45 mins after the order is placed and doesn’t even bother to look for it. Will have to return again to pick up. Very disappointed, Something so simple shouldn’t have to be made a headache.

Asked a Best Buy employee to help me find a digital copy of Call of Duty MW3 as I am not familiar with games. They handed me a copy and I paid. When I got home I realized I had MW2. Best Buy refused to exchange my MW2 for MW3 even though the employee gave it to me. There was some confusion as the graphic in my photo shows MW3 everywhere but they don't have copies in store. Instead of returning my game, I will instead return my Xbox and purchase both elsewhere

So I’ve been waiting for a survey from my experience here but never got one. I ordered a portable a/c from another Best Buy and was to pick up here. Long story short, it wasn’t available because the system was down. There’s a manager named Chassidy that went above and beyond to help me get my a/c the next day even though it wasn’t showing up in the system. She was concerned, caring and empathetic and made sure I left completely happy with my purchase!

They had what I wanted. A micro SD card 32G. I bought the wrong one when it's too big for my phone. The guy at the register was moving along with first customer slowly. Waited 15 minutes. Seemed like an issue was being resolved with customer's laptop. Seemed like he was undergoing a factory reset. I just wanted to exchange my purchase. Too long, too slow. Bad customer service at the Geek Squad - I had an appointment and was told to wait at a table without much direction and was given a lot of attitude when I asked when I was going to be seen and the woman had a very sarcastic tone when she “apologized” that I was not seen on time. Spend the time to find the right blue shirt and you are likely to encounter an enthusiastic, knowledgeable person in one of their stores. And their prices are competitive with Amazon, while allowing you to touch, see, feel. I dont want to see brick and mortar go the way of the dodo bird due to lazy people who need everything delivered to their door.

Some of the other staff members don't even make eye contact when you talk to them, and it's awkward. Get more guys like Felix.
