Had a disappointing and an inconvenient experience. Joined the first month asking TJ to sign me up for only a month. Which worked fine. After few days after my membership ran out, i went to signup for another month, when i tried to get in, as expected there was no access. I called gym personnel to let me in and signed up for another month. Now, after 4 months i get emails blackmailing for 4 month worth of membership charges, if not they will send to collection. They state that one need to submit a cancellation form with a 30-day notice period, but they withdrew access for me without submitting any form after the first month, but continued to bill me for all coming months. This is a an unconventional method. When you usually sign up on a recurring monthly payment, the vendor charges u once every month and provide u with service (whether or not u have used it). The reason why u were not able to charge my card was because i never signed up for a monthly once recurring billing. Now, the way the management asks is that, i come to the gym every 30 days and enter my card info and pay for the next 30 days or submit a cancellation form, but we (the gym) will withdraw access until u pay or submit a form, and blackmail you that we will send bills to collection after billing u for many months. The meaning of Recurring monthly billing is that "Customers grant permission for both storing the card info and executing the charge once every month on a recurring basis without any involvement of the customer in any manner" until the customer manually requests for a cancellation. Here, i clearly never permitted the gym to store my card details nor did they get any permission from me to automatically charge me, hence they could not do so. To the gym management, First u need to understand how monthly recurring billing works and then get your policies and payment/access handling right and in-par with other vendors, only then can you expect ur gym members to understand it clearly and honor that.

I just moved to downtown Seattle from another state and have been having trouble finding a true bodybuilding gym with all the equipment I knew from back home. I’m used to sprawling, big-box gyms with dumbbells that go up to 150lbs and a plethora of equipment. Big Iron is the only gym around that meets my needs, and that’s after trying a half-dozen gyms in the area. The culture in Seattle seems to lean towards CrossFit-esque/boutique-styled class gyms. Never having enjoyed that style of training, Big Iron is the one shining star I’ve found in my search across the city. Dumbbells hit the 150 mark, the gym is 24-hour controlled access, and it hasn’t ever been insanely crowded. As a plus, the staff were very welcoming the minute I set foot in the gym. Nat showed me around and explained each piece of equipment available to members. He set me up with a complimentary day pass and I was sold. In initial email communications, Laura was very quick to respond and let me know I could come in at any time during staffed hours. Overall, very positive impression, and I figure this will finally be the gym I stick with for the foreseeable future.

Seattle is really not known for its gym culture and I think Big Iron Gym in Seattle is trying to change that. It gives off old school muscle dungeon vibes the likes of Lou Ferrigno, Dorian Yates and Ronnie Coleman would feel right at home in. I was amazed at the number of machines that I had no idea even existed. Some are a bit on the older side but honestly that makes them better in my mind because modern gym equipment you'd see at health spas just doesn't cut it. This is an amazing bodybuilder gym and being open 24/7 is basically unheard of in this area so it can't be beat. I highly recommend at least checking it out and see if you like it. First time in was free for me. Also the music choice was top notch, having gone to big health spa gyms for the last two years if I hear one more top 20 pop song I think I was going to lose it.

This is the environment we all have been looking for. Has a wide variety of specialty machines that you won’t see in most gyms and high quality barbells. Also, very good lighting and plenty of mirrors to check out the sick pump. Besides the facility the environment and community is great. It’s a great place to learn and network with others. Especially if you’re working on a brand this is the place to start as the owner and his team has access to a wide range of people, athletes such as IFBB pros, and fitness influencers. Also, if you’re new into fitness they have coaches that can help guide you on that journey based on your needs this also includes nutrition. This place is more than just a gym.

An elite gym with a welcoming environment and a large variety of equipment. I was visiting for a week and it was easy and affordable to get a short term pass. Equipment was always available with several implements targeting the same muscles but you could select what best works for you. The staff was friendly and so were the regular members. The gym was clean, clean bathrooms with showers. I’m very tall and I know for a fact the tops of the racks were spotless so I’m sure everything else was clean.

Would highly recommend this gym to everyone! This facility Is geared towards heavy lifters, but still has all the equipment and space for functional fitness. Friendly staff and the owners are great people! One of my main issues with commercial gyms is the cancellation process. Most gyms make cancelling your membership a nightmare. I unfortunately had to cancel my membership at big iron, but Jaime and Laura (the owners) made it easy and painless! Will definitely be back again when I can!

If you’re into bodybuilding this place is Mecca. So great going to a place that focuses on what’s important and not trying to imitate other globo-gyms. The staff is friendly and the equipment is exactly what I need (and more). It’s also really refreshing to hear music that’s being controlled by the staff and other customers at the gym! Sometimes I take my headphones off and they’re playing exactly what I’d be listening to anyway! What a revolution!

Great gym! This is a powerlifting gym that has a variety of different equipment. Everything is laid out well and sometimes when the weather is good they open the roller doors. There’s a couple rooms in this gym and has a place for posing. A day pass is $20. It’s typical price for Seattle day pass. The gym is a bit dusty and dirty.

  • Greg Ratajik

One of the best lifting-focus gyms I been In for many years, and my favorite Seattle area gym! Cool vibe, everyone is very focused and serious about working out. Solid equipment - both free and machines (thanks for the full set of mag bars!!!) Hours look limited on hours but it’s fob- accessible 24x7. Give it a try!

A very old gym with all old and rusted equipments, and dirty floor. There were many staffs on the floor at the time, but no one was bothered to keep this small place clean. I heard so many good things about this gym from my friends that USED TO go there now, I was so excited to check it out but left disappointed.

  • Noah Cross

Excellent space for serious weightlifting, at a great price compared to other Seattle gyms. They put active effort into constantly improving their space, and will take input from their customer base to do so. It's clear they have a true passion for what they do.

  • Bobby Harriman

It’s a cool gym, good equipment without being massive, location is great for ne personally, other members are focused and fit. Might be the least social weight deck I’ve ever come across - including prison - but hey, you want community, go to CrossFit amirite??

  • Carlos Gonzalez

I love a gym that also feels like a community, and not just a place you go to lift and keep to yourself. The owners are friendly and they have the widest selection of machines I’ve seen at any comparable gym, plus an extremely generous free weight collection

  • Christian Robinson

Best Gym in Seattle. If you're looking for a "classic bodybuilding gym" around Seattle, this is the ONLY place to be. Entire staff is super friendly. Great music played at all times (not some top40 pop bops). Just general great vibes.

  • Taylor Chaves

I always feel welcomed at this gym. I’ve made some really great friends that motivate me to be better in all ways. The environment of the gym is super cool and moody with all the cool lighting and black walls. Highly recommend …

  • keller4keller

The best Gym in Seattle by far. Great staff, tons of equipment options and 24 hour access can't be beat. Highly recommend this gym for people who bodybuild or powerlift it has a great atmosphere and classic metal plates …

  • Mitchell Spears

Fantastic hidden gem in Seattle. Whether you’re already serious about weightlifting or looking to get into it and being surrounded by friendly people with a passion for lifting I cannot recommend this place enough.

  • Trevor Mozingo

I'm glad to have found a place that is not overly crowded after work hours, you can actually find a bench or squat rack, has a friendly community, and is ACTUALLY is accessible 24/7 *cough cough -- 24 Hour Fitness*

  • steve kopecki

Love the family and community feel of this gym ! The staff create a very inviting environment whether you are new to the gym or a seasoned veteran. A great place to start or continue your fitness journey !

  • Lisa Hallett

Pros location, price and atmosphere. Cons all the plates are off 2+ lbs. Even if marked 45 lbs they are actually 43-47lbs. So if you feel like the barbell is off it’s not you, it’s the equipment.

  • Nicholas Aberle

Great gym! Been there the last two weekends and it's great. Lots of equipment, good atmosphere, all the things. Not many good lifting gyms around Seattle but this is definitely the best.

  • Bryce Foster

After reservation. Went to that place and told me they are not open. Can’t cancel it from ClassPass either.

Big Iron is a good environment to work out with focused members and very little equipment “bottle necking.”
