This doesn't happen alot to us but I felt like Binny's of this branch could use some feedback to improve their store experience. We frequented this Binny's many times in the past as we live nearby. Tonight's visit was the worst experience we've received from the staff and security there. This place profiled people and may have been racist as we observed different treatment with people of certain ethnicity. 1. Intimidating staff and securitymen who we felt were following us and constantly stared at us as we browsed. 2. Even overheard one staff member told security who kept an eye on us what we were browsing for while we assumed they ignored other clients of certain ethnicity. 3. Felt so monitored and peered pressured to purchase something so that we don't get patted if we happen to not find anything we like for the evening. 4. First time that the cashier carded me and my husband was the one who was checking out. I didn't carry my ID while my husband did and the cashier asked me to specifically leave the store. I thought that was new since we've been to multiple Binny's and this never happened. So I exited the store with a sour mood and waited for my husband to finish paying for the beverages out in the chilly weather and in the dark parking lot. Probably will not come back to this branch and rather go to the Lincoln Park one instead. They don't intimidate you and let you browse the collection of beverages without making you feel like you're not supposed to be there. And also the inconsistent of carding policy.

I went regularly to Binny's to buy my whiskey and the experience was ok but what I experienced today was just terrible. Won't definitely shop there anymore and can only highly recommend to everyone else to go to the small and friendly liquor stores in the neighborhood... They don't have the same variety but at least they are friendly. So here is the story: I was browsing for my stuff and went to the check out. I approached it the wrong way because it was empty. The lady who was sitting their was chatting and joking around with a colleague. As she saw me coming she stopped and looked very annoyed. She told me that I was approaching the check out the wrong way and thus is not the way it should be. After a short discussion we agreed that for this time (because it was empty) it is ok... The next thing is, she declined my German ID. She said she couldn't accept this. Never had this before and not even in this shop. As I called for the manager he told me the same. I tried to explain but they weren't listening. Then I went away without buying anything but they didn't care at all. I'm nearly 40 years old and I had a foreign ID... I don't get it... Never again

A Great Adult Beverage Depot with Everything You'll Need. This place has a great wine and beer selection where you will find a beverage for your mood, taste, or desire. I'm not much of a hard liquor drinker, but they had a good selection of that too. I went straight to the beer section and had lots of different styles to choose from. They have a section where you can build your own six-pack and I love those! I built two made up of an eclectic mix of stouts, pale ales, and IPAs and had a nice weekend. The folks who work there are friendly, quick to help, and can answer all your questions.

Binny's is my favorite larger liquor store in Chicago. The selection is amazing, any obscure liquor I have searched for, i have found here. And the prices are more than fair, especially if they have a sale. The service is outstanding. If you are seen looking and looking, someone who works there will immediately find you and help you and get you what you are looking for. They also have a fine selection of cigars. Binny's is awesome, check them out. They also deliver, and that was awesome for my NYE party. Got the bar stocked without leaving the house.

I love this store. They have a HUGE selection of everything: beer, wine, liquor... you name it. They have sales frequently on all sorts of items. The staff is friendly and helpful. The lines can be long sometimes, but the store is efficient and you can be in and out quickly. One of my favorite parts is the Binny's card. You save so much and get points with rewards. I've received two $10 off rewards already and I look forward to many more.

This place is amazing. Endless variety of beer and wine, helpful and friendly personnel who's recommendations were always spot on. Cannot beat these prices also and there is always something on sale, new beers are coming in regularly. Dedicated parking lot, pick-up is available. Number of people inside is controlled (good sign!) so you might wait in line outside for 5 minutes. This is my #1 place to go for alcohol shopping.

This Binny’s is the best place in River North or Southern Gold Coast to pick up alcohol. They have a wide selection and competitive prices. In addition, the staff are knowledgeable about the products and make fantastic suggestions. My one recommendation is to have an idea of what you want to buy and keep an open mind if the staff suggest you try something else. It’s a great way to find a new favorite! Cheers!

The river north location is amazing. Love that they have some parking available in their parking lot. They have a WIDE selection of all alcohol, most mixers you could want or need, and the staff is also friendly and happy. We went on a busy day before St. Patty's and there was still super quick service, and organization. It seems like they are always well staffed and the store is taken care of.

All of their stores are incredible. The selection of alcohol is crazy good. You will find something within the price range you want to spend. And staff is helpful. I asked for help on some wine and they hooked me up with their wine specialist. Learned a little more knowledge about brands and sub brands and growing regions. Definitely ask for help. It makes them shine with their knowledge.

It’s a mall of alcohol. You’ll find almost every drink here. They have all organised as per liquor category. Rare international drinks available as well for cheap compared to other places. It’s kind of my favorite place to pick alcohol. Members also get points and discounts on some. Do check their app. Binny’s also offer online delivery if the order is above certain amount.

Great selection of wine, beer and liquor. Fantastic stock of craft brews at great prices. Good covid 19 measures. Masks required and occupancy limit enforced at the door. Cashiers were very friendly and floor staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Parking in the lot is a bit tight, you might want to try parking on the street if you can find a good spot.

Binnys has an outstanding selection. When we haven't been able to find something specific on shelf or identify something we are seeking for a specific cocktail an employee has always been ready and available to help us look and advice as needed. They also have a great selection of mixers, accessories, garnishes and ice machines. Parking is available.

They have everything here. It's great, and the lady at the beer desk was very helpful. My friend and I bought a Keg. Only thing that sucked was the cashier. She was dry, not helpful, and really looked like she did not want to be there. I even made jokes, but could not believe how dismissive she was. Other than that, this place is sweet.

normally have good experiences at this shop but i recently bought a locally brewed IPA that was canned 6 months ago. i normally check dates but figured Binny's has a good reputation and that a locally brewed beer would sell enough to not sit on a shelf. beer was so stale that i was close to just pouring it down the drain

Well stocked liquor store with a super cool sign! Located in downtown Chicago which makes the fact that this point has it's own dedicated parking lot quite amazing. Entire staff was friendly, from the elderly smiling security guard all the way to the staff member that let us use their chiller to cool down our red bull!

Since this is Chicago, the most important thing is that this place has a parking lot. It also has a pretty good selection of alcohol. They mostly stick to mainstream suppliers, but they certainly have craft suppliers. You won't be disappointed by any means. The staff is also generally nice and the prices are good.

Good selection and prices. I would advise management to be more customer focused. Get your wine guys out in the aisles. I would appreciate someone asking what I like and then pointing me towards things that are similar or a good contrast. Don't leave them behind a counter appearing to be too busy to help anyone.

Great location just outside the West loop with parking...okay, and a fantastic selection of wine. I was looking specificaly for Sicilian reds around Mt. Etna region and found many excellent choices when even one or two would have made me satisfied. Luckily Binny's excels at a diverse and aptly priced selection.

Marvelous selection of wine, beer and spirits at good prices. Nice friendly staff to answer your questions or offer advice to help make your selections. Aisles are a little narrow but it only helps display more products. If they don't have it, you likely don't need it, but one of the other stores may have it.

My boyfriend and me just stopped by to purchase some drinks and it was a horrible experience. My boyfriend got accused of stealing a bottle from one of the employees (bald white old guy) we were racial profiled. Such a disappointment. NEVER coming back, it's disgusting that people like this still exist..

The best place to find beer, wine and spirits in the area! The place is wide-open, clean and accommodating. The staff know their stuff too! Definitely enjoy all the deals I get when I present my Binny's card. Went in looking for hard ciders, walked out with 3 cases of Cider that I'd never tried before.

Not a good 1st time experience. I felt I was watched and followed as I shopped. I planned to take some bottles back west, I felt they thought I was gonna steal something even tho I spent 10 minutes talking to the security. Had high hopes maybe next trip. Till then I’ll check out other liquor store ….

I had the pleasure of working with the ordering and customer service staff here. Everyone was fairly accommodating and communicated well throughout multiple orders. The shop was very clean and well organized. They had a huge selection of local craft beers which was why I was there. They also had a great price on my favorite rum, prompting me to pick up a bottle even though I didn't need one. I would definitely visit a Binny's again if I have the option.

My daughter was looking for a particular brand of moscoto and it was available here. First of all, this store is huge and has a massive selection of products. The person who met us at the door (I thought he was security) led us to the exact product we wanted. Super friendly staff! Thank you!

Great selection, great prices, helpful staff if you're looking for something in particular - I'm a regular! They also seem to be doing a pretty good job with the COVID precautions (someone always at the door keeping headcount and checking for masks before you enter), which I appreciate.

Pretty good choice of beer at reasonable prices. There was a small section of individual beers but mostly fourpack sizes and up which is a little annoying if you're a tourist looking for lots of different things to take home. This would be my go to place if I lived in the area though.

Kevin, the wine manager, is incredibly helpful! He listens fully and makes honest recommendations based off of your thoughts and price points. He is very easy to talk to and not pushy at all. I honestly wanted to keep talking, but it was late in the day abs had to get going!

This is a pretty good-sized liquor store in an area where you definitely need something convenient. They have a lot of choices and stock, and it's within a walking distance of a lot hotels and residences. If I lived in this area, it would be a regular shopping spot for me.

Clean store, friendly staff, and a wide selection of wine, beers, and hard alcohol. I particularly liked the make your own 6-pack wall, which was well stocked with a good amount of porters and stouts, which I appreciate. Overall a great place with reasonable prices.

Great service! My husband and I stopped here on our way out of town. We love craft beer and their staff directed us to some really great stuff that we happily added to our cart. Thanks so much for the help, and the knowledge. We'll be back next time we're in town.

I could wander around Binny’s for hours looking at the pretty bottles. I usually go to the gigantic Jefferson Street location, but stopped into the Grand Ave location, which is much smaller, but still has a great selection. Free, easy parking. Very helpful staff.

Very helpful staff, clean store and good prices. Asked for a certain wine and a staff member checked to see if in store. Gave options to order the wine and recommended a bottle that was on sale. Was very good choice and below our price point.

This is my second favorite Binny's location, mainly because the beer section isn't nearly as big as my go-to Binny's. However, this location does have a ton of sweet deals! Had to snag DogFish Head's 2017 Punkin Beer, $14 for a 6-pack.

As always it's great to shop at Binny's. You can find olmost everything and anything you need. I love that they are even open half a day on holidays for last minute runs. They also have great deals and its cheaper than other places.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean store. Out of buffalo trace. This is a supply issue as I work in hospitality. Not their fault! Otherwise excellent selection of substitutes. It's a 1 stop shop for all adult party essentials.

Excellent! I come from Taiwan and buy it every time I enter the store. I drink it at home in Chicago. This time I also buy it and bring it back to Taiwan to taste. Thank you for the good product, we all like it!

Not recommended. I bought a Bira 91 Beer from here and it was expired 10 months ago. The whole shelf was filled with expired beer 10 months ago. Will not buy again. The manager did not have a proper explanation.

I really enjoy the convenient location in the River North neighborhood but the selection is tighter than the bigger locations. Generally speaking for all locations I wish they could stay open later than 9pm.

Impressive selection of domestic and foreign wine. But best of all was the advice from the staff who really knew her stuff and was patient in explaining USA wine regions to a jet-lagged visitor.

My hubby & I visited this location while in town, everything was shelved neatly, easy to locate, & the staff was polite. We can't wait to revisit when we're in town again... …

They have a free parking lot. And they had the whiskey that I was looking for in stock when nobody else did. Of course also a couple of impulse buys while I was in there. Who can resist?

Binny's has everything to stock your home bar and wine cellar. I found the wine I have been looking for since 2011 (countless other stores have told me it's no longer made).

Very good selection of everything alcohol related. They have some fantastic bourbons, and their barrel picks are always fantastic. Prices are very resonable.

This is a much smaller binnys, but if you need some drinks for the road after a fancy dinner on Randolph, this place is convenient and well organized.

Great selection, however they had a fairly limited selection and variety of cold beer. Also, the prices were pretty fantastic for downtown Chicago!
