28/11/23 -I would NOT recommend #BlackburnLakePrimarySchool 21-12-2023 - This is the 9th time since posting on 28/11/23 this honest GOOGLE review of @BlackburnLakePrimarySchool has been removed. I am of the view that the school does not take well to negative detailed reviews. This post is above all informational of MY experience with Blackburn Lake Primary school and what to do if ANY schools fail to support families and who they can turn to - #VictoriaPolice. Google reviews are exactly that- reviews, good bad or otherwise so others can make an informed decision. 2023 : Vaping, threats of violence/killing, and bullying all of this in week 1 of term 1 - 2023. Bullying culture is alive and well under the leadership of new Principal David and new Assistant Principal Rebecca (aka: Bec) @BlackburnLakePrimarySchool Both are aloof and dismissive of the serious and damaging nature of bullying, threats of violence and assault. I had contacted the school in writing with my concerns of bullying and threats of violence to my child on many occasions only to be dismissed - in both term 1 and term 2. Term 3- known school bully physically assaulted another student and was witnessed by many students at lunch play and when it was reported to the teachers, the students reporting the incident were deemed trouble makers for bothering the teachers and the bully was not held accountable. I escalated my concerns to The Victorian Education Dept' , Ombudsman and eventually Victoria Police as the school failed in its duty of care not only to my child but to many others. If your child is bullied/threatened at ANY school and the school fails to respond or support your child, contact Youth Resources Division (Forest Hill Police) you will be heard and assisted. Victorian School Principals know the protocols of bullying and if threats of killing and or violence are made to a student by another. As Principal he is OBLIGATED to refer the student/parents being bullied to Victoria Police as I have since learnt. Because of the lazy governance at BLPS, David failed in his duty of care - PERIOD. The many failings and inappropriate conduct from new Principal David - voice recording my child and her classmate with his mobile phone in HIS office still hasn't been clarified to me as I write this review. How long has this practise been going on, and parents are unaware? ALWAYS address your concerns in writing to schools so there are no denials or misinterpretations. In my opinion, #Blackburnlakeprimaryschool needs to be investigated and / or monitored at the very least by the @VictorianEducationDepartment Kids should have fond memories of their primary school years - not trauma.
Many of the kids attitudes are terrible and do not respect each other and the teachers. Many kids have been annoyed by this school and it’s staff as they are not teaching anything to the students. Out of the 6 sessions each day, only 1 will benefit the children’s knowledge.I have heard of some younger kids who do extremely inappropriate things and kids who throw rocks into some of the puddles that form after rain. One of the nicest teachers in the school will be unable to teach the younger generations as she has been away for 2 terms. Teachers favour the students who are popular and not kids excelling in their study or excel in sport or are very responsible. There are some very bad role models who do very unintelligent things which may damage young children’s minds. I would rate this school 0 stars if I could and I would definitely recommend not sending your children to this school.
I've being feeling very reflective recently and as a year 12 in 2022. I really miss the good old days at this beautiful school, the staff are warm and welcoming, there are great memories to be made here. So parents do not miss out on an incredible opportunity to send your children here. Trust me you will not regret it! Thank you Blackburn Lake Primary School for all the memories!

The Principal and assistant principal took care of our son and supported his needs. The teacher was knowledgeable, friendly and supportive. I am truly happy for my son to be in this school. I think it is one of the best schools in the area.
I went here. No hat no play, kids. I was a bad boy and forgot my hat, and that isn't a pleasant experience, but being the savage I am, I respected their ultimatum and did as they requested!!!! >w< Also I heard Jason isn't principal anymore
extremely good school great surroundings and amazing teachers! i learnt a lot in grade 5 with the best teacher Duncan. when i grow up i want my kids to go to this school if its still up and running.
