I went to Life Thai Massage yesterday and paid for a 90 minute massage. I prefer to have a pillow, even when facing down but the masseuse was insisting that it should be taken away. When she demanded to know why I wanted it, I said that I would prefer it and that it was my choice. I could tell within minutes that she was very angry and relaxation is not what I'd get from this massage. I asked her to change the 90 minutes to 60 minutes. The massage was okay - no issue on this score.....but the atmosphere was 'chilly' throughout. When the massage was over, I waited for the refund for the reduction of 30 minutes. The lady said that she thought I was talking about a future massage and had gave me 90 minutes - despite our discussion.. When the owner came out, I explained the circumstances to her. She told me that it was unreasonable for me to expect to receive the massage and not pay for it. I suppose that this is correct, even though it wasn't what I had asked for. Nevertheless, I wouldn't feel comfortable making this post if I had received a refund, so it is $30 well spent. Like all places, the experience depends on the attitude of the staff.....which isn't always a reflection of the business but, in this case, I would recommend other local businesses like Let's Relax in Preston....where I have never had an issue. Caveat Emptor.

The massage was professionly done but this "traditional" thai massage was different to the traditional thai massages i often receive in bangkok and phuket. I usually prefer the dry/pushing into the muscles but that was at the first 10 mins and last 5 mins. The rest was oil. At times, when she pushed, was too close to the shoulder blade or spine . Felt painful and the rubbing was too hard at times. As a person who is half thai and speaks some thai, i said "jep! (Hurts in thai) but she kept saying "you are too tense, nearly finish". In all, it felt good but maybe by body was too tense. My back was killing me because of sleeping on a too-soft bed, thus the reason in going. Will i go again to this place?..maybe, maybe not. Do i recommend? Well, if you like both oil and traditional, and can more tolerant to pain, then it's good to go to.

Went for my first massage there about a week ago and it was okay; got a deep tissue full body and masseuse was a little rough which is as expected with a deep tissue, on this experience alone would’ve given 3 stars. However went in for a ‘relaxation’ massage today and it was rougher then the deep tissue, I asked the masseuse to go lighter two times to which she replied “yes” but then continued just as hard as before. Don’t think I enjoyed I single minute of the 60 I was in there and left with a sore shoulder. Not pleased and will not be coming back again

i went there once after hours for a bad and stiff sore neck and upper back, that i thought i was dying in pain. After a massage a very very deep tissue massage< yes they hurt alot but i was much much better after half hour than going to the physio them quacks use vibraters and electricity do massages and not much by hand. The massager was great really great , was surprised of the great strength was able to use her elbows and knees at same time to stretch my back out , i did say make it deep and rough like proper old school physio.

They're very pushy. Very argumentative even though I was soft spoken. I wanted this place to be my regular because of its location to my work. I just can't explain it.... Just as I went to enter my pin and pay I felt I had to get out. I apologised and said I'd be back next time. She then got aggressive with the Eftpos mmachine and told me to go home. Sticking to my old place regardless of the commute. $75 for the FULL hour as opposed to $75 for their 45min. Wonderful professional massages and such friendly staff.

Blue Essence Spa (Thomastown) is amazing! I went there today because I had a painful back and very stiff muscles (back, shoulder, neck areas). Norie gave me one of the best massage I ever had. You can see her expertise in giving massage and you can feel her passion in helping people who are in pain, like me. Thank you so much Blue Essence Spa (Thomastown). Booked last minute for a two people massage and facial. Was a little sceptical at first especially after seeing the flashing lights on the window and the dark narrow staircase. But I have to say that the massage and facial we got was one of the best I've had. Walked out very relaxed. Very decently priced as well. Definitely recommend this place.

One of the best when it comes to massage, I did the spa package 3 and it was incredible. Penny the masseuse was excellent and very kind and so was Uma for the foot spa! My wife referred to me this massage shop just across the train station. Easy access to shops in High St Thomastown as well.The service was efficient, timely, and very welcoming. The atmosphere is so relaxing and beautiful. The therapist's name was Norie and I would highly recommend this spa.

Had a pregnancy massage this morning, was very nice. The lady looked after me well! The only thing I would suggest is a table/bed to accommodate pregnant women so we can actully lye on our stomach and enjoy the back massage. Good service altogether though .

I have a chronic back injury from childhood that is very difficult to handle. Rina and her team run one of the very few places I trust to work out the problems and fix them, even at times when I can barely walk. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Went here once and it was fantastic. Went the second time and while the massage was ok they changed masseuses half way through and they didn’t wipe the oil from my body and when I asked to have my back cracked - was told I was too big.

Don't West your time at this massage shop. They don't clean the oil massage from your body in the end. I pay for hour massage but the did only for 50 minutes. And she wasn't has enough experience to do massage.
