Update: The below remains accurate, however Blue Whale has reached out to me as part of settling my complaint with TxDOT and rectified the matter. Blue Whale completed the move as originally quoted, and compensated for the small damages caused during the move. I've changed my score from 1 star to 3 stars to reflect this resolution. --- Blue Whale Movers were courteous but 3 hours late and did not complete the work, left furniture in dangerous assembly conditions, and left my home damaged. I called Blue Whale the morning of the move to confirm my appointment since I had not heard from them except when we first booked it. They stated that we were confirmed and movers would call us 20 minutes before arrival. An 8:30-9:30am arrival window turned into a 12:30pm arrival, with no apology or mention of being outside of the window. Once arrived, my movers were very friendly but clearly unequipped to handle my home. They had to ask to borrow tools to disassemble furniture, and tried to move the refrigerator without measuring for clearance, damaging our newly renovated kitchen in several areas. Being as they started 3 hours late, it was almost midnight when they finally arrived in our new Austin home. Understandably exhausted and ready to move on, our movers dumped all the boxes and furniture in our living room. They did assemble 2 beds before they left but 1 was incomplete and falling apart, fortunately I noticed before putting my daughter to bed. 0 boxes were moved to the rooms we designated, and nothing else was put together. We were charged $280 extra for having more boxes than we estimated, which is fine, it happens anytime you quote with movers. We weren't discounted for not moving things on the estimate, but hey, the price was pretty cheap to start. 1 lamp was broken during the move, but overall most items were handled with care. The refrigerator was banged up pretty badly from attempting to move it without ensuring there was clearance (it cleared just fine once the bottom drawer was removed), and there were gashes in the wall from furniture hitting it. The movers upon arrival told me they wouldn't hook up or install our washer dryer, saying they weren't qualified to do so. That's fine but wish they had told us this before the move, as we now have to pay someone to do it. I hope they were qualified to remove the washer and dryer in the first place I've escalated my dissatisfaction with the customer rep who set up the move the next morning, but have yet to hear back other than to say they would be forwarding my feedback for review. I hope Blue Whale takes the opportunity to make it right and either refund a portion of my move, pay for the repairs to my home, and/or have crew come and complete what we paid for.

I would leave Blue Whale a 0 star review if possible. We used them when the father was running the show and had a wonderful experience. Now that his son has taken over I would not be surprised to see this company go under. What a disappointing excuse for a human being. Run in the opposite direction if you are considering Blue Whale. They moved us from TX to NC and caused so much damage and refuse to take responsibility. They will not replace your damaged items. They do not understand how to pack household items. They destroyed a seven thousand dollar Restoration Hardware leather sofa with packing tape. They tore my wedding dress apart. They do not have any sort of customer service or integrity. I am grateful to be in a position to replace my damaged belongings. I know other families do not have this luxury and may be looking at using Blue Whale as a locally owned family business. They may be thinking that their belongings are safe with Blue Whale. They do NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR BELONGINGS. They should do the right thing by their customers and I am afraid their poor business skills influence their poor decisions. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!

Had them move our entire 3000 sq.ft. household locally in Feb. 2020. Hunter Armstrong gave us the impression that they would be a professional and reliable company. During the move, a book case was destroyed (literally fell of the truck and broke into pieces) and our piano was damaged. It took them 8 month to send somebody to repair the piano, and over one year to finally settle for the book shelf - AND the check was smaller than we agreed upon. Attention, they were hiding behind a technicality that makes them liable only for 50 ct per pound of damaged good. This means if they drop your Chinese vase worth thousands, they are liable for 2 lb x $0.50 and get away with paying one dollar in damages. Calls were usually not returned, they went through 3 employees who handled our claim and the outcome after one year was absolutely frustrating. I would NOT RECOMMEND Blue Whale Moving.

The crew that just moved me could not believe the other crew had moved and put my furniture (that are antiques) in storage and were not wrapped in plastic or paper. The movers were nice people and did a good job, and the overall price was good. I'm leaving a poor review because the movers damaged 4 different pieces of our nice expensive wooden furniture. We contacted blue whale and they kept saying they would get someone out to fix our furniture...that was 6 months ago now. They did offer to pay us money instead of getting it fixed, but what's $50 when each piece of furniture they damaged was over $500 and now has major defects Edit: moving this 1 one star as blue whale clearly responds to positive reviews to thank the customer yet ignore all less than positive reviews of us customers who got wronged to try and alleviate our concerns

From the very beginning, Blue Whale was incredible. Hunter sat down with us to discuss their work and pricing in a courteous, professional manner. They were in constant communication about the scheduled move. On moving day, Jacob and Aaron arrived early and accommodated a substitution of furniture with no problem. The disassembly and reassembly saved us time and stress and allowed us to focus attention on other parts of the move. They were quick and efficient and always polite. We had a very smooth move with Blue Whale and even used their storage facility for a few months while our home was being finished. Everything arrived in perfect condition and there were zero issues, damages or concerns. We hired Humpback/Blue Whale to clean out our garage and to move and store the contents of a storage room. The team arrived and figured out a “ plan of attack” to get the work done. Arthur had been part of our previous move and was familiar with the layout. They were very efficient and respectful of our property. They finished quickly so final cost was under the estimate. I have used this company several times over the years. I’ve never disappointed.and highly recommend them.

They were ok with moving the items, however it took them 4 hours to move 5 pieces of furniture andxaxwasher and dryer. They did bang the furniture in the walls a couple of times which required touch up paint. They did not have tools to remove the washer and dryer so I had to go buy two wrenches for them to use. After the job was done and they left we found they took wrenches with them. I have used Blue Whale before with great results but this move was not their best

My movers canceled on me & Blue whale saved the day. Quick and easy to schedule, the movers were on time and professional. GREAT value. Overall I will use them again when I move out. Only things is they need a better paying system, didn’t feel comfortable writing my cc number down at the same time as they ran it on the phone with someone. That seemed weird to me. So heads up pull out cash if you feel uncomfortable with that.

I have now used Blue Whale for multiple moves. The service is great from the initial call to the actual move. I loved the option of a virtual appointment to determine the estimate of the Move. The pricing is a very good value. The movers are very hardworking, friendly, and really take all measures to ensure your belongings are well taken care of.

Not usually one to leave reviews, but BWMC was great to work with from start to finish. Awesome customer service, and really professional movers that arrived early and were also very thorough and careful.
