This place is a no go. Please please please don't go there for the sake of humanity. They are very rude and full of themselves, no business ethics, customers have no voice in this shop and they dont even make good hair. Was the biggest mistake I ever made. I went to make my daughter's hair and on getting there i showed them the style. At first they started passing me around each other. Later a lady was willing to make it. She took 10min to settle to make my daughter's hair. When she started she said she wants to change the style cos the one I choose was too much and she has some other things to do because it is Saturday. Then she went ahead to say if I added more money she will do it but still it wont be as full as the one in the picture I showed. I had to negotiate again and finally came to conclude the price over again. When she started she was picking my daughter's baby hair. I asked if she could just weave the hair before adding extension because of the baby hair. This made her upset. She said why dont I let her do what she wants instead of making a suggestion. I believe as a customer we have a voice, but to her she was doing me a favor for making my daughter's hair even though I was paying the agreed rate. She then started taking out the hair she had done and told me to leave. I asked why she was taking her hair out, she told me she is a professional and does not want to be questioned cos she knows what she is doing. I went on to tell her am a customer and i can tell what i want, but she and her co worker all disagreed as to having a voice on my daughter's hair. They dont have business ethics and very rude set of people over there. Save your money and go somewhere worth ur time and hard earn money. No go can come out of this shop.

Seriously this place! I went in for passion twist, which they said they could do on the phone. I get there with my own hair, for mid-back length medium size twist. They first tried to offer me their hair which was one, too short and two, would have taken more packs than they had to achieve the size and length of the style. So I said no, then they decided the hair I brought wouldn't work for individual passion twist either. So after speaking with the owner on the phone, they said they could achieve the style by crocheting the hair in. So, ok fine... upon completion of said crochet, they tell me they are done. No where in sight was a twist. Just a head full of back length curly untwisted hair. I voiced my frustration, paid and left!!! This was not a situation where I waited until the last min. and or wasn't paying attention. The job we agreed on was crochet the hair in, then twist the hair to achieve the style( AGAIN) because they claimed they couldn't use my hair to do the twist individually. If you can't do a style say so, don't bait and switch. Being from NYC i'm not afraid to pay for a good braided style, and have, as both myself and my daughter get our hair braided frequently. I was looking for a new salon in Phoenix, this is not it, it will never be it, if you want something basic like some corn rows or plain box braids maybe try your luck but if you're looking for anything current or fashion forward, or just non- BASIC , then THIS IS NOT THE PLACE!!!!!!!!!

Im glad to hear the salon is open to feedback because there needs to be improvment with customer service. From my experiences and observations, there needs to be consistency with scheduling appts. Like a tracking system,so you know who is coming in...instead of talking walk-ins (to make more money) and turning those who made appts away because you dont have braiders. That's very unprofessional. For me personally I made an appt for 7am...and the braiders were about 30 mins late, and no contact provided on when I should expect someone here. I didnt sit down in the chair until 8am. I provided an example of what type of style I wanted and it was the complete opposite. My braids were still cute however, I should be paying for what I want. I wanted a knotless full bob and instead I got bulky knotless braids and it was NOT in a bob form. Checking in with your customers to ensure you are providing what they want is VERY important. I didnt see my hair until the very end, and I was super disappointed but yet paid for my service. I really hope you take this feedback into consideration. I would also recommend you get a working bathroom. Sitting for hours and not being able to stretch or use the bathroom is not professional either. You guys do great work, but there needs to be significant improvement with the customer service. I wont be back any time soon.

This place is a good tired excuse for hair braiding. My friend got her braids done and they just wrapped her hair to the hair she wanted in and when I asked for a refund they act like they could fix the issue. If you did it lazy the first time, why wouldn't you do it the same way no she wanted her money back. When asked repeatedly for her money they called this lady who said they have a no cash refund policy. I was sitting in the store and I didn't see it the lady that was in the store moved a huge purse from way up high on the wall to reveal a sign typed in regular paper no cash refund. I told her that's a rip off way to conduct business. She said they just remodeled and must of block it by accident. Accident or not it's not visible. I told her it's messed up that she is doing shady business in the hood to her own people. She didn't reply just kept saying it was on the wall. The lady at the store wouldn't give me her name because she was the one that moved the purse. The sign was blocked unreadable and in a poor eye sight. DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE SHOW THEM THAT DOING BUSINESS IN THE HOOD SHOULD BE STRAIGHT UP AND HAVE A HIGHER STANDARD. CALL THEM AND LET THEM KNOW HOW WRONG THEY ARE FOR HAVING CORRUPT INTENTIONS WHEN DOING BUSINESS WITH YOUR OWN PEOPLE. AT ALL COST BOYCOTT THIS PLACE DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY BUSINESS

Everyone was nice there, but I'm not satisfied with my hair AT ALL ! It's only been 3 weeks and within the first few days I experienced hair falling out from the braids ( curly hair glued on the ends of the braids). During first couple of weeks, braids started fall out ( about 5 or 6 braids). I made my appointment for Suzy Bofia but she requested two other young ladies to do my hair in which they messed up horribly. I was there for almost 7 hours and they did a lazy job and I paid $260 for what was supposed to be medium individual box braids with curly ends. A style I always get, I usually pay no more than $180-200 for in Atlanta but I guess the prices are higher in Phoenix Arizona. I really want to go back for another style and book with Suzy but she's so busy idk if she'll be able to do my hair. The only reason I booked with Suzy is because I saw her work and I was referred to her by a friend of mine. I was very pleased with the pictures I saw of her work. I'm not going to say don't go there, because they obviously have some good stylist there, I'm just not pleased with the two who did my hair. However, it was a very nice vibe there with music playing. I'd return ONLY if SUZY will be my stylist

I rate a business on overall experience. So here goes. I booked an appointment 2 weeks in advance for 9:30 am. The day prior to my appointment, I received a text message around 9:30 pm from, who I assume was the owner wanting to confirm my appointment for 8am???. I response stating, my appointment was for 9:30 am but if you need me to come at 8am, thats fine. So I travel my 40 minutes and arrive about 15 minutes early and wait. When 8 am comes, the owner is late. The shop did not open for another 20 minutes. Okay, sometimes people run late, no big deal, moving on. I get inside. They have booked 4 people ahead of me??? And now I'm waiting for an hour and some before my service can begin. So why ask me to come in early, when you could not accommodate me early. My time is just as valuable as yours. I was made to feel unappreciated by this lack of consideration. Yes, I could have left and I would have if my stylist had responded sooner. I am a paying customer and booked a service well in advance for you to make proper provisions for me. I was disappointed. The shop was busy so I'm sure one disappointed customer review won't matter but it really should.

Where do I even start. When I walked in to the store everyone looked like they were in a bad mood. But I was desperate so I sat down and had my hair done. I was not happy with the quality of their work. Being from Africa and having lived in NY for years I KNOW WHAT good quality braids should look and feel like. The sectioning was poorly done and I’ve snagged some hairs when trying to wash and oil my scalp. The ends of my braids were poorly trimmed, and I had to fix them when I got home. Some of the flat braids in front were started, instead of being flat, had a raised knot.. ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️ I had asked for 1b hair and they used 1b and 2 - which they didn’t tell me and I didn’t notice until until I got home. I had Fulani braids done and the person braiding my hair unaware that I understood French was mocking me for wanting an “authentic African hairstyle”. I should have known better than to sit in that chair when I walked in to unpleasant faces but hey, I ignored my gut and got the experience I did.

If I can give it no stars then I would! Ugh I am extremely agitated. If you ever come in contact with Bofia Braiding on 16th st and southern do yourself a favor and don't even go. I had a budget of $160... I wanted feed ins and they convinced me to get box braids because the told me my hair texture was too much for feed in braids I just figured they couldn't do feed in braids so I ended up getting some colorful box braids. I don't mind if two people are braiding my hair but if thats they case then they need to make sure that the braids are all the same size and length. . . The front looked okay so I hadn't noticed how bad bad hair was done until 2 days later when I went to oil my scalp and I start realizing every single braid was a different size .... AND TO TOP IT OFF MY HAIR WASN'T TUCKED PROPERLY SO I HAVE SO MANY FLY AWAYS IT LOOKS LIKE I'VE HAD MY BRAIDS FOR OVER A MONTH and its only been 4 days(I tie my hair down every night) .

I must say looking at their work on the facebook page makes u feel like your hair is going to come out so good but I was fooled. I set up an appointment for micro braids and sent a picture of how I wanted it to look and it doesn't even look close to what I wanted. First of all my appointment was scheduled for 10:00am but when I arrived she was late. I had 2 different people working on my head, one in front and one in back. The back of my head is fine it's the front that is the problem, I haven't had my hair in for 2 weeks and the braids are already coming out left and right and I paid $260 for MICROS! I was told that the hair is human hair but yet I can't flat iron it or all I can do is put mousse in it. While in the shop someone noticed a mouse run across the floor! I'm just saying if your looking for your hair to look good for what you pay and be in a comfortable place I suggest you find else where.

I took my adult niece there to get lemonade braids and it was a nightmare. They told her 4 hours and took 6. She sent a pic and they guaranteed they could do it and it came out like an eighteen year old did it after spending a night partying. My niece called the owner while it was being done and stated they were braiding to big. The owner spoke to the lady and she still did them big. When I got there my niece asked me to come in and when I saw the style I told them it was wrong. They gave her a 40 dollar discount but realistically it is a 50 dollar style. If you can't do it like the picture then say so. They claimed her hair was too thick but that is a lie. She had similar styles when we lived in VA and they came out beautiful. Lesson learned, that's for sure. The pictures they have on here is trickery!

I had got the faux locks which not only were very EXPENSIVE too install but less than a week they were falling out of my head. She agreed to install the ones that fell out of my head, so I took the long drive back to the shop and she did my four braids. Not less than two days later more fall out so I call and she tells me the same thing. Frustrated at the fact I had to keep going back in order for her to install them over and over I take them out. In the process of taking them out the front slipped out no problem and the back was a little more secure. I was very disappointed and will no longer use their service. The braids were done lazily and I do not appreciate that.

Got hair done here recently and it was horrible. I set up an appointment two days prior but it wasn't honored when I showed up,even showed up early. My hair was started at 750am and finished at 6pm! All because my stylists kept dancing, laughing and taking numerous breaks. I was also laughed at because my hair was short in the back. 3 ladies who showed up 2-3hours after me were finished before me. Also I was charged 200 when made the appointment, was charged an extra 50 after hair was done when told they only accept cash and not to bring bank card. This is my second time here, will never go back or recommend it to anyone. #Sorry not sorry

I give this place -0, the service I received today was beyond disrespectful, and very unprofessional. This was my first time here and all I can say don’t ever come here. The owners don’t listen to their clients. My service was so bad I had to call the police, the owners wanted to charge me for a service promised then coming near the end of my service they wanted to go ahead and tell me they weren’t going to provide me that’s service instead I was going to be given half the service. Half as work. I refused to pay for a service that’s not worth the money. Never coming back or even recommending anybody to this place.

Pay attention to the whole dam shop! All the Braider’s have Traction Alopecia. None of them have a full head of healthy hair. Usually braids hurt but not for four days. Tingling, itching, extremely tight scalp will result in baldness just like the women in the shop have. They braid way too tight. Your style will look nice but good luck having hair when you removed your braids. I paid $120 plus $5 tip for a style I can’t wear because 4 days later the cornrows still hurt. I reached out to the Braider that did the work and no response. I will not recommend this shop to anyone unless you don’t like having edges.

My daughter got crochet twists at this salon and aside from being overpriced, the quality is horrible. They made sure to concentrate the twists around the perimeter of her head and completely neglected the middle. She cannot wear her hair up in a pony tail. Additionally, after I was quoted a price by who I'm assuming is the owner, the stylists argued me down about paying more. I would never come back here. I had to purchase my own hair because they didn't have enough in stock. They are not open on Sunday as advertised, and they have rude children arguing and running around.

This place is the worst, me and my daughter got our hairon done and a week later my sewing in is coming down and my daughter braids are falling out in the back. I called and spoke with the owner (suzy) no remorse at all and ask if it can be fixed she rudely tell me to come in Friday and she will fix it. I am soo disappointed with my first experience with this place!! Will provide update on my visit, I'm sure it will not be pleasant considering lack of communication. I was not even given a time to return before she hung up. Would have gave no stars if I had a chance :(

My daughter needed her hair braided late in the evening after school and Susie agreed to braid her hair. She did an awesome job and when it came time to pay my husband left his wallet at home on the bed! Susie was very understanding and told my husband she could wait for payment the next day! I thought that was so nice of her. My husband returned the next morning with extra $$$$ for her! Susie has an amazing attitude and does fabulous work! Kudos to you Susie!!! You will always have my daughter as a client! Thank you

tbh I would give y'all a no start because y'all messed up my hair iv had my hair done for 2 weeks and it looks like I got it done 2 years ago my braids are falling out and I honestly want my money back but I k is you guys won't give it back this was a waisted of $350 on you "salon" I hate your shop and hope you close because you charging people like this will actually stay in or even be good it was a waist of my time money and I hope that yall realize that karma will come to you for scaming people out of their money!!!!!

Had my hair ripped out of my head to the point that I had scabs by the woman who did it. She did apologize but didn’t offer me a refund, only a discount on my next service. I had explained at length that I wanted to come in so that my hair would grow, and that I had problems with my edges ripping before. She braided it so tight and it was like she didn’t even listen to what I had said. I have tried so many times to get my hair braided but this was the final straw for me.

I literally love this place. They are fast and they love their job. I have seen previous honest yet disturbing reviews that would make you doubt the quality of their work, and some reviews that left no reason for why they put 2 stars and just want to lower the rating of this beautiful business. Overall they have changed so much and made many improvements to their business. I promise you will not be disappointed. Bofia Braiding definitely the best! Highly recommend!!

Really did a fantastic job. However, it was not what I asked for at all what so ever. Actually not even the same braid as I showed. What I got was done extremely well, it just wasn't what I asked for or wanted. So with that said I would say this place is awesome for African style super tight braids, but has zero clue about any other braiding styles so if you are looking for a Celtic style knot braid, or fat braids this is definitely not the place.

Normally this is my go to shop for crochets but I'm very Displeased with the service I received this time and I wont be going back. I felt like it was a rushed job and for 200 dollars that shouldn't be the case. I had patches of braids unfinished and some whole braids not done.Which is crazy because there was 2 people on my head

I asked for small braids straight back the girl did her own weave pattern that fell apart I went back to have redone she wanted me to pay and was mad I wouldn’t let her do my weave. I've been getting micro braids for over 20yrs and I've never had nail glue in my head. My braids are coming undone and its only been two weeks. I paid $250 for the worst set of braids I've ever had. Needless to say I will never go back and I've started a report to AZBOC

Paid 275 for micro braids and my hair is not quality at , my hair has cut ends in the braids that looks horrible. I texted the owner pics and she did not offer me anything , I would not ever return for another visit. Money wasted .
