Consumer Beware!! Bosch gave me very friendly, professional and expedient quotations. They seemed to be very accommodating too. If you are someone that takes a quote at face value without doing your due diligence then you will find Bosch car service Hillcrest to be very good. If however you do your research you will find them to be extremely expensive. My first dealing with them was in 2019 when my diff motor apparently needed replacing. The jeep dealership who did the diagnostics quoted me R34k to repair it and Bosch gave a quote of R42k. I took it to an independent auto electrician who serviced the part and charge me under R2000. My second experience was in 2021 when my car alternator went and the car needed to be towed. It was towed to the same Bosch dealership. They quoted me R33k for a new alternator. I phoned jeep myself (their dealership is approx 700m from Bosch) and with one call ordered a new alternator for R23k. Jeep were horrified with the written quote I showed them from Bosch. They delivered the new alternator to Bosch with no charge either. When I queried Bosch about the very high charge for parts, they replied that they were fully entitled to charge a 25% handling fee on any parts ordered - in this case R5000 charge on one part that was ordered by one telephone call of 3 minutes, and this was considered acceptable to Bosch Hillcrest. Their labour costs were also expensive. I emailed Bosch head office to inquire on their billing policy for parts, but never obtained any reply. Phone around before you accept any quote from Bosch car services Hillcrest.

Car had the following faults: cruise control not available, engine light, abs lighr and gearbox fault. Was quoted about R88K, I opted to take my car to a specialiast where I was quoted R40K. Bosch offrered to do the job for R59K. I gave them a green llight. They discovered other faults during the repair, cost increased to R76K. I paid them. Took car, within 5 KM, cruise control light came on. Drove it back. Bosch said we should take it to the auto electrician but car is fine. Tried to drive car within 60 KM , all lighrs came back (engine light, gearbox fault and cruise not available). Took car back and now states that I have to paid R4k for stripping as there is a fault with control plate. I wrote to them asking to consider that its an identical error mesages, they should not charge me R4K for stripping as I have paid them R76K for the same error messages. I feel cheated and they could not tell me what was actually changed or repaired in the gearbox. They are reluctant even to tell who repaired the gearbox. I have lodged my complaint with RMI. H

over 10 months later Bosch has not called us to rectify the query we had with them. Took our BMW 3 series there and they really messed us around. At first they decided to repair the car at aa budget way higher than we had already prearranged with them, they did not even wait for us to approve their new budget. We raised the money took our car back and realised they had broken the container for the engine coolant and had tried to repair it with glue and we found the glue stains but they didn't tell us, half way to Drakensberg holiday our car broke down, had to take it to PMB BMW for repairs and had to pay another R10 000 at BMW days after we received had paid over R10 000 at Bosch for car service. We sent them a video to show them what happened and almost a year later no reply.

Really really bad experience! I was then advised I needed the fan belt replaced when it had been replaced a few months earlier at a service elsewhere. It's hard to prove dishonesty with a mechanic but I strongly suspect that was the case here. Other reviews mention the garage is owner managed, in my 4 visits owner wasn't present once. I tend to take online reviews with a pinch of salt but if you are reading this, you've been warned!

Worse service ever, Towed my vehicle to Bosch in Hillcrest and the problem was my forward gear. There was not report issued then they decided to call the gearbox specialist. The quotation was R186000.00 My car was not stripped and the diagnostic report was not issued. I need some clarity on how they got this R186000.00 from.I waited the whole week for the quotation.I couldn't get a car hire because of that quotation, I had to pay from my pocket to tow the car somewhere else because of their poor service. All the inconvenience. The quote that I received after I moved rhe vehicle from them was R22800.00. I need answers or else I'm taking the case further.

I cannot stress this enough. These guys are the best at what they do! I sent my VW for a full major service and they quoted much cheaper than what Vw quoted for just a simple oil change and checkup. My vehicle also had a misfire issue which they resolved at no extra cost. I later had an unrelated issue with my sensors, and they fixed it quickly. If you want a business that will know and care for your car as much as you do. These are the guys to go for. Communication is excellent. They won’t do any repairs with your confirmation, so there are no surprises. Also a bonus, the vehicle is always cleaned after every job. So yeah, that’s great

Does not get a star as it does not derserve one . No Estimate quote after Requstting one repeatedly and only on the 4th week got a quote which was 68k and stripped engine with out Authorization from myself . car sat for mare than 2 months and it was not sorted . Ask for diagnotic report repeatedly and eventually on the 5ht week they gave me one which was weak at best . as the only component that was not quoted on was the one that was faulty on diagnostic and very limited info on car on report . Quoted some parts over 400% and more . Got all documents to proove

I took my wife's car for service, and asked for it to be checked for some minor fualts that I explained. They sent a qoute for extra costs to fix the faults, we gave a go ahead, the car came back as it went, took it back the next day, and still nothing was fixed. I regret my decision, Bosch Hillcrest lost a potential long term client. They will probably not care, but that's business lost.

Took it in with failed brakes. Was a simple brake fluid line leak. Quoted 5.9k. So I took it somewhere else where they did the job for 2.5k. Reception staff are pleasant. I was charged for diagnostics, not stripping.
