Best park in Northeast Queens. I say that because it’s much more intimate than many of the other parks in the area. Not too big or small. The perfect size with amenities for all ages and surrounded by quiet streets and beautiful homes The park is clean and well kept. It is picturesque with the beautiful pond and weeping willows bordering it. The recent renovation upgraded the pond as well as the walking paths. The added additional benches throughout the park which was needed. You can easily find a quiet spot that’s relatively private to relax, read or meditate without noise or interruption. Of course this is more achievable in the morning as opposed to later in the day when more people visit, The park has a nice playground, basketball courts and a new bocci court so there’s something fun for everyone. The pond is filled with fish, turtles and ducks which is thoroughly enjoyed by the children who like to feed them. Many children don’t get the experience of seeing turtles and fish live except in aquariums. They also installed two water spouts that help filter the water and also provide some visual and sound interest. If you’re looking for a change of pace from your go to neighborhood park and live in the vicinity Bowne Park is a beautiful park to check out.

Nice park to take the family. I take my dog here out for walks every so often. The pond has remained largely unchanged, but it feels nicer now with the new construction. The park is divides into two sections. One part has the playground, basketball court, bocce ball court, and restrooms. The other side has a nice pond with turtles, frogs and visiting birds. It pond has water pumps that shoot out water over the pond as well when turned on. It's a nice place to take a walk, read a book on one of the many benches. Good public family park.
Playground
Nice children's playground on site. Also basketball court and bocce ball court. Chess tables also available
Restrooms
There are public restrooms near the playground area.

Growing up bowne park was our go to park. Now that I have a child of my own I came to visit my mom and take her to the park. Was shocked at the changes to the playground but disappointed as well. The grounds are not kept well at all. The grass overgrown and full of weeds or dirt. Not fun for kids to play on. The swings are not shaded at all and with black seats (especially for the baby seats) makes it pretty hot to put a child in and keeps them in the sun while swinging. Garbage over flowing. Only one picnic bench out of the whole park. I do love the pond and nice to see that looking clean and all the variety of animals in there. Could do without the geese and their poop everywhere but I know kids love them.

Very clean park. Plenty of activities to participate in. Bathrooms are relatively clean.
Playground
Have basketball, handball, and a nice jungle gym set. Pretty maintained and good for kids
Restrooms
Restrooms for both genders the male one is generally clean when I stop by. Sometimes smells like old man but in a free public park, cleanliness matters more and that’s pretty good
Dog-friendliness
No dedicated dog area but still big enough to play in. No fences however so do be warned
Picnic area
No grills but some tables. And plenty of green space for a nice picnic

Great park in the area! Large enough to take in nature but small enough to be convenient for quick activities. The small lake here is the most famous part of the park and is a nice scenic break from all the homes and development. The playground is great for kids and there's even a basketball court and bathrooms.
Playground
Good for kids!
Restrooms
Women and men's rooms available
Dog-friendliness
Good spot to take your dog for a walk. The park is about a few blocks in size so good for walks

Wonderful park! They have several paths to walk on, benchs to sit and relax, many trees providing shade and housing for wildlife, many birds to come and see. They are "fixing" the pond, should be finished this summer if we are lucky. Kid's playground is pretty large, includes a water area that is open during summer. Only one basketball court here, also they are immediately next to the playground so kids end up running around a lot and playing there too.

Easily one of my favorite quiet spots in town. I'm a little old-school so a little quiet sitting time is always a thing or me. Especially when it's nice out I love stirring Inna place with a view. This park offers that in the best of a suburban neighborhood. With a pond full of ducks and huge trees, basketball and play area for kids. It's the perfect park to live close to. If only it were larger.

Always have a great time here. There's bocce ball when the weather warms up and ice hockey in the winter when the pond freezes over. Dog and people friendly. Great place for the family. Now that the weather is warming up, the women's dance exercise group are back in action. Even the turtles have wakened from their winter slumber and the geese have returned.

Yay, restrooms were open. Picnic table by park house was in terrible condition. Benches and bocce court and chess table were in good condition. Playground area was busy on a Sunday afternoon . Water Fountain near the lake was not working. Liked the stone turtle but am sorry about the real turtles . Glad they are reseeding the lawn.

My ☀️Sun is 2 years old and he loves the playground, the sprinklers, the tree house, the geese and turtles. We live in Fresh Meadows, but drive to Bowne Park and spend hours at a time there. I enjoy the trees that shade the swing area- perfect summer park for children. The ice cream truck makes his rounds fairly frequently also.

I like to stop there when passing by sometimes. It’s an average park. Slightly more spacious than the others In this area and have geese pond there. Mostly families and people in their retirement age, it’s great. I have yet to encounter loud music playing people or those types of people who wants to pick a fight with me.

A lovely park with a basketball court, pond, sprinklers, and a playground. The sprinkles turn on only in the summer. The pond has ducks and I see people giving them bread. Lots of people walk there dogs here and I see people jogging often.

I asked for breakfast combo #8. The crossaint looked bigger in the picture... it was small... not so tasty. I liked better the one at Dunking Donut. Restroom handle it gone... shame a place can still open without having that fixed.

  • Face Masks Don't Work!

Very nice park with it's pros & cons...the pros; peaceful, nice place to bring your kids & dogs. A lot of nature watching like geese, squirrels & turtles. The cons; a lot of geese poop because there are a lot of geese.
