The property is beautiful and is perfect for families with young children. The pool was clean and the pond and beach were great. Lots of playground equipment for the kids and everything is handy. Unfortunately the male owner and all the seasonal residents we encountered were down right rude and insulting. The speed limit on the grounds is 10kmh and that is perfect. There are a lot of trees and blind spots and with kids playing and being kids, it'd be easy to see how accidents could happen with speeds higher than that. Apparently the speed limit doesn't apply to employees on golf carts. They were pedal to the metal all over...on the roads, on the lawns, between trees, day and night! The male owner was zooming back and forth after dark with speeds absolutely inappropriate to the conditions and proximity of children. The bathrooms were cleaned frequently throughout the day which is great, but again the speeds they were traveling between trees and shrubs adjacent to the playground was unacceptable. On Saturday evening I went for a walk with my 7 year old and she and I waved and said hello to all 6 seasonal residents were passed by. Not a single one returned our greeting. Not a single one. I am sure there are wonderful seasonal residents here, but we certainly never encountered one. My wife spoke to the female owner and said she was nice. We stayed in a cabin and was just perfect for the four of us. However when we arrived there was a plastic wrapper from a duvet on one bunk, there was mouse droppings on another bunk, and a torn ziplock bag under the bed. It hadn't been cleaned since the last people rented it. The drawers of the dresser had spiderwebs in them. When I was transferring food from my cooler to the fridge some water spilled on the floor so I wiped it up with some paper towel. The paper towel was black with dirt when I finished. The floor hadn't been cleaned before we checked in. We have camped from Quebec to BC in national, provincial, private, and forestry campsites. Never have we been treated like this by an owner or other guests. When we were checking out the employee stopped dealing with my wife to answer a question from a season resident who just walked in. Horrible service to end the worst camping experience I've had in 30 years. The female owner said she loves having kids around and that shows with the attention to detail with the play equipment, activities for kids, and proximity of everything. But that's where the family focus ends. The male owner is rude and the seasonal residents have no tolerance for weekend guests who help keep their seasonal fees down.

Very clean family friendly campground. This is our first time staying in a cabin. Our cabin could sleep 6, 2 double bunks and a double bed. Very thin plastic covered foam mattress so no fear of bed bugs. Beds are very low, and not that comfortable but you are camping right! The propane BBQ provided is a very good one, with a side burner. They do provide the propane. The only issue we had was that the tank run out after the office was closed. Thankfully we were finished our supper; we left a message on their voice message system which wasn't responded to. We stopped at the office just before lunch to ask about propane refill, they knew nothing of the issue and claimed their phone system was sketchy sometimes. They also will provide BBQ utensils, you may prefer to bring your own, we did. They do not advertise themselves as accessible, however I have mobility issues. While not wheelchair friendly, anyone who can walk with a mobility aid (rolator, walker etc) could manage. Will we stay again? Planning to. We are however gathering a few things to make our stay more comfortable, given my mobility issue. 1. An inflatable mattress to make the bed a bit higher and more comfortable. 2. My foldable walker because, while I could get in and out with my rolator, it was tight. My foldable walker is smaller. 3. An aerobic step bench. The step onto the veranda, while doable, is a bit high for someone who is mobility challenged. 4. A small packable shower chair/bench. My issue because I do not have the strength or stamina to stand for a complete shower. *also note that the shower floor is very slippery, so mobility impaired or not this could be a hazard. This is easily mitigated by wearing water shoes or throwing a second towel on the shower floor. All in all a great experience for my first venture into the things I used to do before my accident. While it's not the Granger Park we knew, Phil and Sophie have worked hard to make it a clean, family friendly place to stay. It's close enough to Ottawa, and competitively priced rates make it a great accommodation option for a family looking to visit the "National Capital Region" on a limited budget

This campground is managed very well! We have been to many campgrounds/parks and the pride the owners have shows. We were there for a week and each day they were around emptying the garbages (we stayed on the tent sites which apparently are available on long weekends only, will have to call to confirm). The sand in the playground and other areas around the man made lake are groomed regularly. The bathrooms were always very clean. One day when we were there it rained a lot and one of the roads through the park flooded. They right away had an alternate route ready and setup a pump to clear it out. Within that day it was cleaned up and open again. They are very friendly and super helpful as well. I would not hesitate to go back there or recommend staying there to anyone. All the people who work there seem to be very happy and friendly as well. The last day we were there it was supposed to rain. Rather than packing up wet tents, we decided to stay in one of their cabins. It was huge and a great value for the price. We found it very clean and comfortable.

This is a very nice campground, and the owners are serious about keeping it that way. The owners acquired the campground six years ago - it was in need of care and had a terrible reputation. Since that time it is clear they have worked hard to improve their campground. They are ALL about family. If you want a place to party loud look elsewhere. Their access is controlled by card, their speed limit is 5mph and they mean it. Break the rules and you will be asked to leave. But if you want quiet, and a great place to bring your children, this is the spot. Only negatives - no 50 amp service and the 30 amp was not full 120 - and no WIFI - hence only four stars - but they are not really about transients. They have over 130 permanent campers and a waiting list and will expand again. My camping neighbor has been going there for 34 years so they are doing something right. I'll be back.

We had a wonderful time at Breezy Hill on the September long weekend. The park is very nice, extremely clean and well maintained. Transient sites are very long and offer water, sewer and 30 amp service. Located a short drive from Ottawa, it made for a quick and enjoyable getaway. Office staff could not have been more friendly, helpful and accommodating. At $50/night, you are getting much more than your money's worth! A quick caveat - we have a 41 foot rig and our site had a slope to it that made levelling exceptionally challenging. Other transient sites appear to be more level, so site #46 is best left to shorter RVs ie, 30 feet or less. Thanks Breezy Hill, look forward to another visit!

This is a horrible place for weekenders with children. The seasonal people seem to watch your every move. A few times our young children were yelled at either because they were too close to their property or because they crossed on their property. They watch your every move. Makes you feel very uncomfortable. As we were sitting in our camper talking and laughing with the kids the owner actually came right up to our door to yell at us because we were too loud and threatened to kick us out. He could have calmly asked us to be quit. No courtesy, no manners, just an arrogant man. This place is horrible and should not be opened to travellers as they are most definitely not welcomed here.

We have stayed at Breezy Hill a few times to visit family which are full-time campers on this campground. Each time I come here with our camper I LOVE my experience, it's always clean, well upkeeped, the owners are very friendly and care about their campground and are very involved, the beach by the pond is always groomed every week, the public washroom are clean, the pool area is well maintained... the list goes on... It shows that that the Breezy Hill team works hard to keep this place in great shape.

We were there for Canada Day weekend. Very friendly park with swimming etc. The swimming pond is bigger than it looks in the pictures, very clean and well maintained. They did a great fireworks on Canada Day itself, and the social committee organized a spaghetti diner. The regulars were all friendly, waving and saying hi when we walked around. Highly recommend for a relaxing low key visit - and there is a par-3 golf course very close by. Weekender campsites are mostly pull through with no trees. Amenities: Electic: 30 amp Water Sewer at site + dumpsites at exit Cable/wi-fi: Nil

we love it here. We usually try it at least twice per year. The pool we have never tried. We prefer to swim in the pond. The park is much much better now and the place is got trees an grass everywhere. Clean place, owners have been nice. we never had any issues, except a visitor that drove in to drop her things off, and we were pushed to get the car out tot eh visitor parking. Seemed a little un compromising. But since then it has never been a problem. Will be back again. Great place.

The grounds of this campsite seemed nice but the staff were kind of rude. We were only there one night and a shower was a priority for us. They confirmed there was a shower but the next morning we found only cold water at the shower! Tried to complain at the office which didn't open until 10am! Left this place frustrated and will not return.

Great location about 15 minutes to downtown. Sewer and water only 30 amp power but the grounds and quiet make up for that. Good signage to find it from the freeway

Friendly people and good size sites. There is a pond and pool to swim in. We will definitely return next year. It is a great family campground, quite, clean. The seasonal sites look really nice would make a great summer home.

  • G. Bunte

The owner of this campground is a complete jerk. No respect and does not mind their own business... has to be in everyone else's business. If you want to go camping and get treated like crap, this is the place to go too.

Nice spot, but the owners are quite rude and do a lot of yelling at their customers. Washrooms are way to far from the overnight camp sites.

I like camping in a more wooded site and this was more open field camping. The kids loved the water pool and areas to play. Overall good place with kids to camp.
