The Brisbane Airport truly stands out with its exceptional visual signs and navigational ease, even for first-time visitors. The airport's efficient signage makes it a breeze to locate essential areas such as private car pick-up spots and ride-sharing car pick-up zones. It's a relief that even newcomers to this airport won't face significant difficulties in finding their way around. However, the one aspect that I found somewhat disappointing is the limited public transport options, particularly the absence of buses. The primary mode of public transport available is the railway, which should ideally be convenient for travelers. However, for those without a go card, the cost can be considerably higher. Personally, I have relied on the ODIN pass for an extended period, and it's disheartening that the airport station doesn't accept this pass. Consequently, I end up paying nearly $30 for a train ride to the city, making it more expensive than opting for Uber. Another aspect that left a negative impression on my visit was the less than friendly attitude of the staff at the International terminal. It's essential to feel welcomed and acknowledged as a passenger, but regrettably, I felt a sense of neglect during my interactions with the staff. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Brisbane Airport still maintains its reputation as an efficient and navigable facility. Its excellent visual signage system ensures that travelers can easily find their way around, streamlining the overall airport experience. While the limited public transport options and unfriendly staff were noteworthy drawbacks, they might not significantly impact everyone's experience at the airport. For travelers who prioritize seamless navigation and efficient transportation, the Brisbane Airport remains a reliable choice. However, for those seeking more budget-friendly public transport options or enhanced customer service, it might be worth exploring other transportation alternatives or considering pre-paid travel cards that are more widely accepted at the airport.

Brisbane Airport, an intriguing hub of travel and connectivity, offers a mixed experience that combines convenience with a hint of uncertainty. While navigating its terminals, I found myself drawn to its compact layout and efficient design, creating a sense of intimacy that's quite unlike larger international airports. However, I must admit that my initial impression of security left me with a minor pang of apprehension. The security measures in place, while undoubtedly well-intentioned, seemed to lack a certain robustness that one might expect in an age where travel safety is paramount. While it's crucial to balance security with a seamless passenger experience, there's room for improvement in this aspect to ensure travellers' peace of mind. As Brisbane prepares to host the Olympics, it becomes evident that the airport will likely undergo a series of upgrades to meet the demands of the influx of visitors and athletes from around the globe. These anticipated enhancements should encompass a range of areas, including infrastructure expansion, technological advancements, and an even more streamlined passenger flow. While my experience was confined to the domestic terminal, I'm optimistic that these upgrades will extend throughout the entire airport, creating an even more impressive and efficient travel gateway for both domestic and international passengers. In conclusion, Brisbane Airport presents itself as a promising travel hub with its unique blend of intimacy and convenience. However, the security measures might benefit from a reevaluation to align with contemporary standards. With the upcoming Olympics serving as a catalyst for development, the anticipated upgrades hold the potential to elevate Brisbane Airport's status as a key player in the global aviation network, catering to the needs of a diverse array of travellers.

We have recently travelled through 6 different airports through Sth East Asia (Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand). All of these airports were quicker and more efficient (domestic and international) in baggage retrieval, disembarkation and exiting than Brisbane Airport. We were held in the plane for 40 minutes at 10.30 at night for reasons not known to the passengers. I know that that happens sometimes. When we finally disembarked there were no trolleys available at the carousel and the baggage area was so confusing, disorganised and chaotic. The passport control, queueing and quadruple checks of passports, photo verification, security to recheck a checked passport and then recheck our passport again appears labourious, unnecessary and time wasting whilst standing in line for 15 minutes (plus) at each (4) checkpoints. We then exited and followed the signs to passenger waiting / pick up area to have take a lift downstairs with the other hundreds of passengers to find that the pick up area is about 150 metres away in a paid carpark (10 minutes free) over a busy roadway! Even then it was closed by the time we exited the building! FFS! Who designs these ant trails and evaluates passenger flow? My grandson could do better, and he is 7! I am proud to be Australian but was surprised and honestly disappointed at how poor the process, passenger flow was and experience was compared to Sth East Asia. Precovid it was a much smoother process. That said, the staff were friendly and accommodating under the circumstances. Biosecurity were excellent and thorough. Thank you for your service to the biosecurity of our country. The process needs to improve, drastically.

"A Mix of Convenience and Promise Amidst Renovation" Brisbane Airport is currently in the throes of a grand $5 billion revamp, a step towards a futuristic and more accommodating hub for travellers. While the ongoing projects are promising, the present state of the airport reflects a rating of 3 out of 5 stars. The airport houses two food courts, each with its own set of advantages. The one near Qantas is bustling with activity, albeit with higher prices that may leave your wallet feeling a bit light. On the other hand, the food court nestled between Jetstar and Virgin gates is a quiet haven for those looking to escape the crowd. It not only offers wall-to-wall power outlets for the digitally inclined but is also a futuristic zone with an AI-powered camera system for identifying and sorting your rubbish or recycling. It's slightly hidden, making it a peaceful retreat with a tech-savvy touch. On sweltering Brisbane days, the corridor leading to the Jetstar hub becomes a cool refuge, thanks to its ice-cold air conditioning. If you're lucky, you might even snag a wall outlet to recharge, both literally and metaphorically. The renovation projects are a beacon of the airport's commitment to enhancing traveller experience. The anticipation builds with each visit as one can witness the transformation unfold, promising a better, more comfortable, and technologically advanced airport in the near future.

Such a warm welcome to Brisbane. I walked through the self check-in immigration just fine. It rejected my husband’s USA passport and he had to go to passport control. He is Asian by the way. They asked him a lot of questions, but then let him in, until another agent grabbed him and started asking more questions. She saw me and asked who I was and I told her his spouse. I asked what was the problem-we are both USA citizens, we didn’t commit any crimes. She said she needed to verify Huy’s identity. Meanwhile I’m watching as they pull out all the Asian visitors. Not one single white person was chosen. She came back and another agent took an over. He asked us to accompany him. I asked why only the Asian visitors were targeted and he got very indignant. I said I stood there 10 mins and didn’t see one white person questioned. Well then we were brought into a secure interrogation room , separated, fingerprinted, photographed, asked for our return ticket, address where we were staying, and our friend’s phone number. They even called our friends to verify they knew us! Finally they let us enter. Probably the worst security experience in my life. Welcome to Australia.

I've never rated an airport before truth is never figure I'd need to. When everything goes right I think there mainly all good. But having said that never been to Brisbane airport until this week. So on arrival 4 days ago and exiting the terminal could not find any directions to ride sharing. As such got an over inflated taxi fare $42 to travel 12kms. Perhaps also the taxi companies fault but the airport did not make it easy to find an alternative. On my return a cancelled flight up north saw myself and many others sleeping on airport chairs and anywhere else one could find. I doubt we're the first group to have a cancelled flight, especially last flight out. But if you are your in trouble. The chairs are cold and uncomfortable and the vending machines offer nothing but chips and chocolate. The only healthy alternative was water. You'd think at least you could get a warm drink, coffee, tea or perhaps soup. A vending machine with something you could want to eat. In fairness to the airport when thinks go right it probably works, just not when things go wrong.

No where in my emails or ticket did it say I needed to have my bags checked 40 minutes before my flight. I got to the bag check 38 minutes before my flight and was scolded by the lady standing at the computer for not getting there earlier. She checked my baggage and then told me I’d probably miss my fight then directed me to wait in the line for security screening. I then spent the next 15 minutes having a panic attack thinking I was going to miss my flight. And when I arrived at my gate I had plenty of time. I did not appreciate being scared for no reason. I work in customer service and I can understand sometimes a clueless customer can be a bother but I would still never put someone in a situation where they believe they are on the verge of missing a flight that they used their hardworking savings on to get, she could have been a lot nicer and so could the people at the security screening yelling in my face because I didn’t hear what they said.

Let's face it, it's not the best airport but... You could argue it stands as a testament to modern functionality and passenger-centric design. It is conveniently located and well-connected to the city, it's an impressive gateway to Queensland's capital. The terminals are spacious and intuitively laid out, making navigation, even for first-timers, a breeze. Shopping and dining options aren't that abundant (if you compare to other airports). The shops range from local delicacies to international brands, catering to varied tastes and budgets. Notably, the airport's commitment to sustainability and environmental practices is commendable. The staff is consistently cleaning and efficient, adding to the seamless travel experience. While peak times can see some hustle, overall, Brisbane Airport offers a smooth and pleasant start or finish to any journey. I think it could do with more family things to do like a free playground for kids.

  • Gareth Willmore

It's a very clean, modern and nicely designed airport. Check-in is very simple, with just straight forward rows, easy to navigate. A few shops are unfortunately empty, which is understandable given the pandemic. Departure is easy with two departure entrances and plenty of shops, clean and comfortable seating and relaxing areas and well looked after restrooms. The departure area itself is nicely designed with an outdoor theme. There are beautiful plantings around, large deck chair themed seating and Street lamps. Very simple design again ready to navigate. A fair few shops, which at the time, some were closed, but started to open as we got closer to the departure time. We were lucky enough to have use of the air new Zealand lounge too, which is excellent. All in all, a lovely clean airport that feels comfortable, modern and well looked after.

  • Paul Kerr

The airport itself is fine. There was a distinct lack of staff when passengers arriving yesterday. Not enough auto passport terminals. Access to assistance was only after lining up for 20 minutes through a line that took me to another machine which gave me the same message, seek assistance. No other access to it. Not enough staff on. Only saw one person, who was left to manage 9 planes worth of passengers to collect luggage and get them to customs. Line to customs went all around the luggage collection area, took around an hour to get there - where they looked at our paperwork and said all good to go. Lift your game Brisbane, there is going to be a lot of visibility there come Olympics time and you're going to want to put on a better first impression to the thousands and thousands that stream in.

  • Zarn Ellis

WORST AIRPORT IVE EVER BEEN TO. Would give zero stars if I could! I don’t even know where to start but firstly a few of the AIR New Zealand staff members were absolutely TERRIBLE one lady actually rolled her eyes at me in the face and huffed and puffed as if I should know what I’m doing.. I couldn’t get her name as we were rushing but I remember her face so clearly. No staff really anywhere to help you so if you are a new flyer or elderly who need assistance I wouldn’t hold your breath. Also it’s absolutely FILTHY the seats were so disgusting with hair and dirt and everything on them- food and drink everywhere- looks like the place hasn’t been cleaned since it opened either. Toilets were FILTHY. All round disturbing experience and never want to return ever again

  • Raf K

Brisbane airport is what all airports should look like. Well designed with plenty of room and functional facilities and areas. At the same time it’s not too big so everything is in comfortable walking distance. Whole experience is quite seamless from arrival, checkin, through security takes just few minutes. Inside several shops, restaurants and cafes, not too crowded and most importantly you don’t feel stressed trying to navigate around. Well done Brisbane! Is it enough to accommodate all international visitors coming for Olympic Games in 2032 tho? Probably not so it needs some expansion and extra work, but I hope it keeps the current atmosphere. Additional bonus is convenient train going directly to CBD or Gold Cost

  • Greg Tolcher

We visited Brisbane Airport to pick up family members after their flight. Friday night just before Xmas meant inbound roads were busy. The high rise short term carpark wasn't full and there was adequate parking available once you moved beyond the entry point. Inside the terminal, queues through security to the arrival gates were long, so we opted to wait near baggage collection where seating is sparse. Baggage trolleys are available via credit card payment of a $4 fee. Parking cost $18 each for two cars for about a one hour stay. All up, our visit went smoothly and we were able to exit smoothly and join the congested north bound M1!

  • Bennett Reis

Navigating through Brisbane Airport has always been a breeze for me. The layout is intuitive, signage is clear, and the staff consistently display a genuine willingness to assist travelers. From the efficient check-in counters to the variety of dining and shopping options available, the airport caters to all the needs of both domestic and international passengers. The cleanliness and orderliness, even during peak times, are commendable. And as a frequent flyer, the ease of transitioning from arrival to departure truly stands out. Brisbane Airport does a great job at making air travel a more pleasant experience. Safe travels to all!

  • Joshua O

Staff were very helpful and courteous which is how the airport gets any stars but the checkin procedure/situation is behind the times. The 'bag drop' isn't a true bag drop when there are still staff checking everything and causing a line. When you checkin either online or using the kiosk that is checking in, when you go to the kiosk and print your bag tags that's it, all you need to do is drop your bag and off through security. Next bit is security, back in Perth nothing has to be taken out of the bags but in Brisbane almost everything needs to be dragged out of your bag. Do better!

BNE is well located within a 20-30min drive from Brisbane CBD and connected directly via trains and roads to Gold Coast. There are plenty of rest areas and charging pods in the departure hall. The airport started as Eagle Farm Airport dating back to 1925 and was over the years upgraded until 1988, it was rebranded Brisbane Airport with a domestic terminal with maintenance facilities, freight apron and runways. In 1995, the airport opened its international terminal. Today, it has an international and domestic terminal. Prior to pandemic, it serves 24m passengers in 2019.

  • Marie Laity

Everything so easy. I booked parking, just so easy to find, road signs are so clear you can't go wrong. Signs in the carpark also easy to understand. I booked long term parking, short walk to the terminal. Everything in the terminal easy to fine, again because of great signals. All staff helpful aswell. Brisbane airport also very clean. If I had to pick on anything, they could do with a little more seating at the gates. I have never parked n ride at Brisbane airport before, I would go it again for sure. A lot cheaper than a cap and so convenient and easy. We'll done ✔️

  • Ian Pauling

If you don’t have the lounge it is a terrible place. Only 2 food outlets open ( and I use the term food loosely as it’s a dark day when fast food is fresher then what’s on offer but they don’t have any outlets) and if you didn’t get here 3 hours before your flight to line up your not getting any. Security, set out and service is about the worst in the country. Cleanliness is average and even getting to the airport can be expensive. And they will make you ride a bus to get to your plane even if it’s quicker to walk ( and try to do our bit for the environment)

  • Ahmed Ghazi

I regret to say that my experience at Brisbane Airport was far from satisfactory. The airport's organization left much to be desired, with minimal signage guiding visitors to food options and restaurants. Additionally, the layout of terminals and gates was confusing and poorly arranged. Another disappointment was the early closure of all services by 8pm, despite flights being scheduled until 11pm. These issues significantly impacted the overall travel experience, and improvements are clearly needed in terms of organization and operating hours.

  • Michelle Praest

I've been to this airport multiple times over the past 20 years and have always found it comfortable, clean, and has plenty of shops to look through while you wait for your flight. The all important "finally back in Oz" pie can be had at a couple of places. I had a beef one for breakfast at 7:47am and on my last day a beef and mushroom one before departure. To be fair there is so much choice in the food department that I might have the Vietnamese rolls next time. Great airport with frequent and fast terminal transfer bus.

  • Steve Macmillan

Parking was very stressful. I had prepaid for my stay but there was very poor signage for the parking area! The airport itself is very modern with excellent (and free) Wi-Fi. Excellent facilities and easy to read information. Update: Arrived back from my trip. The airport security systems are something else . Landed a few minutes ahead of scheule, but didn't leave the airport for 2 hours due to incredible queues to be processed! If someone is picking you up tell them to not worry about being there when you land

  • Robert Poole

Never before have I felt so much like second class citizen as I did when I had to check in for my flight to Japan. You will only qualify for customer service if you spend up for Business Class or above. If you bought an economy class ticket you have to do everything yourself. And if you need assistance there isn't any, unless you've bought Business Class. It took twice as long as it normally would have to check in, only adding to my frustration. Expressing my disgust without using colourful language in a real challenge.

The international Airport of Queensland. Well connected with a train. Clean, quiet, well managed and maintained. It is not a big Airport , but with smart design. Not much of facilities outside , but after emigration, much more facilities, restaurants Cafe's, lounges, travel accessories , souvenir shops and much more. Efficient security and immigration. When traveling to Australia, make sure you know what you are allowed to bring and what is banned. The security and customs are very strict. Friendly and helpful staff.

  • Clayton Wilkie

My experience at Brisbane Airport has been really good , as I've had no trouble at all , got breakfast at the Airport a bit pricey but it's an Airport so everything is expensive there . Now I'm on the aeroplane with Virgin Australia and they were great boarding the plane on time and about to leave to go to Townsville. It been for me a great experience at the airport and with Virgin Australia, I highly recommend Virgin Australia and in Brisbane there is one Airport here so I highly recommend Brisbane Airport as well.

  • Vivek Bannore

Helpful and friendly staff. Clean facilities. Due to COVID all shops and cafes were closed in the evening on Level 4 Departures area. The shops after security clearance were open however the cafes after security clearance were also closed in the evening time. There are lots of vending machines. Overall the airport is well structured and planned. There is lots of parking however due to COVID only ground floor parking is open which is ample space. The terminal access is also from ground floor.

  • Joydip Sinha

Brisbane Airport BNE is the primary international airport serving Brisbane and South East Queensland. Brisbane Airport is a major hub for both Virgin Australia and Qantas. The airport has international and domestic passenger terminals, a cargo terminal, and a general aviation terminal. Security checks for domestic terminals are hassle free. Food courts and restrooms are available in plenty. Virgin Australia has a separate section in the domestic terminal close to gate numbers between 30-50.

  • Tyrone Parish

Not a bad airport overall, but the bathrooms in the domestic terminal are beyond disgusting. The male toilet near Gate 25 has leaking toilets, filth on the walls, maintenance panels fallen off on the floor, the air vents haven’t been cleaned this century and the toilet seats will make you wish you had stronger quads to squat hover and not need to sit. It’s embarrassing that this is what visitors to our city see. Not a one off either, this has been the case in that restroom for over a year.

  • eAuto Pilot

Over the years I have frequently travelled from Brisbane to NZ many times. My main concern is the lack of customs staff at the customs counters in the arrivals hall at Brisbane International Airport. On many occasions I have waited two hours to get through to the customs counters. Perhaps customs need to employ more staff to decrease the waiting time for passengers and increase the efficiency of a relatively new airport that promoted a quicker service to passengers when it first opened.

  • Manish Garg

BNE is a disgrace for wheelchair assistance services. I along with one more passenger have been left in the arrival passage for past 60min and the staff (both airlines and assistance contract company) have left. This under resourcing is a serious issue at Brisbane airport as compared to any other global airport. Maybe they should benchmark their poor performance with other Reports. at least someone may get some junkers. I have just seen it deteriorate over the years.

  • AllanandMichelle

We have been to BNE many times over the years, at one time it was voted Australia’s Best Airport. How things have changed. We bought coffee from Sumo Salad, unfortunately it seemed the staff didn’t want to be there, it was the smallest, most expensive coffee we have ever bought…. Is margin so important? The USB port and the 240v outlets didn’t work. I hope this criticism is taken in good faith and may help to make the airport experience like it used to be!!!

  • Alistair M

Stayed Monday 27th November, pleasant room, close to airport and 4th stay here in recent months. However will be the last, in seeking a correction to monies taken both in error and as deposit, the lady on reception at 4:15pm was extraordinarily unhelpful and hung up before resolving. Sad that this happens, fortunately plenty of options around the airport to stay. Trust others staying at this venue are not exposed to the same ill treatment.

  • Ruth Smethurst

There is just something about Brisbane international Airport that I really like. it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Dubai, heathrow, or some other huge international... But it easy to navigate, clean, well presented and has enough facilities and shops to meet anyone's needs. My favourite is arriving back in Australia and walking out of the building into the Brisbane humidity, sound of cicadas and tropical greenery.

  • Trang Nguyen

Relatively big airport with good interior design. Lots of space to sit down and rest. There are some shops and food stores but not great variety. The direction to pick up or share ride can be super confusing after exit. One plus point about Brisbane airport is that they have photos with highlight information about popular/top attractions in Brisbane and surrounding areas along the hall. I find this is a great idea though.

  • Travel with Terry

I love Brisbane Australia Airport It’s easy to navigate Lots of shops to go shopping while you wait for your plane or lots of restaurants and cafes to eat or drink coffee while your waiting Lots of toilet facilities for everyone and all kept very clean Also has all your lounges if you can afford business class. ( Not me) One day Today my plane has been delayed so looking around passing time while I wait for my flight

  • Louise McDonald

We found that there is very little information on what is required of International Travellers when entering the terminal of a flight. ALSO having Epassport machines stuck on the walkway from your flight a distance from the actual security area is blatantly rude with no assistant to help or advise on what's required. It seems like after a 20 flight things should be good more professional instead of a outback terminal.

  • Ben Parker

Really inadequate food options. 100% of the time I've been in the international lounge, there has been no fast food. The fast food places have actually been closed at peak times. People are in a hurry, My hungry kids can't wait 30 mins for a pub meal. Then to top it off, the water fountain, bottle fillers and hot water dispensers are out of order. A joke of an airport. Just shameful and embarrassing for Brisbane.

  • KK

I stayed at the international airport for a few hours. It was a small airport, so there was no need to walk long distances to transit, not like in Sydney. Not many shops or eating places but enough space to sit down or charge the devices. A few shower rooms in the bathroom. The grooming space with shower for the assistant dogs. The hot and cold water station was there to top up the drinking bottles. WiFi was ok.

  • Alan Lawson

As of July still looking a little desolate with few shops operating . Third world airport. The lounges are a discrace. The management should be sacked. Mid week, 3 international arrivals and the infrastructure collapsed. Kilometre long queues. Took 2 HOURS to clear customs. Staff couldn't cope and hid out the back. I have seriously seen African airports run better than this one. Avoid if you can.

  • Alan Burrell

We travelled out and in at the international terminal at early morning and late evening times. Found everything working quickly and efficiently. Toilets were clean and modern. Recent changes to processes have stream lined things. Would highly recommend using the passport screening control check machine on arrival at gate rather than waiting in line at the main passport area, much quicker

  • Luke Luke

Very bad customer service!!!! what they do is selling cheap tickets and providing bad service for people and in Brisbane Airport staff are very rude and they make you not allow to explain anything to them otherwise they will use that regulation and policies to stop you go on the plane. I hope one day Government can do something to avoid this kind of service happen!!!

  • Andrew White

One of the better airports really, but if you are arriving or departing from anywhere other than a capital city, be prepared for 2nd class service. Your aircraft will be parked out in the middle of nowhere and you're walked or bussed to the terminal. Inconvenient at best, positively miserable if its raining. Desperately needs terminal expansion to fix this.

  • Michele Fancourt

Travelling with two elderly parents Brisbane domestic airport was wonderful. Couldn't do enough to help. They have disabled parking close to the terminal that you can book, which was so helpful as both parents require wheelchair assistance. Security was quick and easy. Plenty of coffee shops and cafes to choose from. Couldn't recommend this airport enough.

  • Timmy Huynh

I booked a late night flight from Brisbane to Melbourne. It's very convenient for me to arrive at the airport. It's a bit quiet. There's a shower in the restroom. Don't worry about running out of battery of your phone. There's some on the tables next to the gate. Whilst waiting you can recharge your phone. This is my Jetstar flight for the night.

  • Ian Moran

A great airport and come again the only problem I experienced was at the coffee shop level 2 I was over charged so travellers should check before you leave and recommend cash . Security needs attention if cameras working I was there at the coffee shop 21st September between 9am and 10 am as I recall I am the guy with a white cap on Traveling .

  • Narmella Mirmohammadi

I was expressing my surprise to a colleague yesterday, saying howcome everywhere is clean these days and was told me have new cleaners I wanted to thank the new company in charge of BNE airport cleaning. As an airline staff, I have noticed cleaner work environment, cleaner bridges and frequently emptied rubbish binsThank you very much.

  • Himanshu Doodhwala

Qantas lounge was good, just one suggestion though that the window glasses require some sort of film to reduce the glare from the sun as I couldn't see my laptop screen while sitting near the window. Also, the passage near terminals 22 onwards was a bit narrow but i guess nothing much can be done about it now that the airport is already built

  • David Edgeworth

A little surprised at the amount of retail in key airline work areas its an airport in the first instance and the functionality of that in my opinion has been lost, waiting to board a flight we were moved on by wheelchairs and people mover vehicles, there was no where to go. From past experiences at the airport a little disappointing

  • Soumya Senapati

This airport is not very big as compared to Melbourne or Sydney airport but it's well maintained and connectivity is good. This airport is less busier than Melbourne or Sydney airport thus the check-in process is faster. The food court also have options for vegetarian food (not sure about vegan though). Overall a good experience.

  • Douglas Raymond

we flew Qantas to Bali via Melbourne due to a flight cancellation, had not flown domestic for over a year, the airport was a delight from previous year, instructions from airport personal was helpful and correct the airport had some nice eateries overall the premises were clean including toilets airport lounges were comfortable

  • Ashwin S-K

Worst passenger pickup area of any airport. Confusing and convoluted for arriving passengers and hardly any space for drivers to pick them up. Not to mention it isn’t covered, so if it’s raining you can start your trip by being drenched! No clue why they’ve designed it like this. But it’s only going to worsen in the future.

  • Kirk Pinner

From poor check in, robotic security screening personnel, dirty floors and surfaces, empty hand sanitiser, food vendors closed up, lack of food options, luke warm coffee which appeared and tasted weak like it had 2 coffee beans thrown at it, the experience was let's say underwhelming and lacked any care factor. -17 stars.

  • Lorna Holliday

So far to walk. From the car to the escalator to the security to gate. All at opposite ends of the buildings with directions that were non existent. Not a place for an older person. Then the plane was 30 mins late and the parking cost $23. Not good to meet a visitor to the country and Brisbane. Not a happy experience

  • tommy medveczky

Good airport and does the job, not complicating when guiding yourself to your destination and has varieties of shops by the port incase of delay. Food is implausibly expensive which is somewhat of a down side. Medium Coffee + Croissant currently $22. For $22 I can buy myself groceries and comfortably eat for a week.

  • Li Gwenith

I accidentally left my water bottle on my flight yesterday, went back to ask if it had been handed in and the staff were very kind and went out of their way to try and find it even though it was my fault for leaving it there. Thank you to Lauren who worked at the Jetstar service desk yesterday for all your help :)

  • Niki Vasiliadis

The airport layout is not the most logical for baggage collection on domestic flights. It’s located past the security and check-in area and signage is sparse so can get confusing. There is a decent amount of eateries to choose from. Toilets are few and far between with minimal stalls. Definitely needs an upgrade.

  • Hong Nguyen

The most interesting point of this airport is probably the diversity of restaurants from many countries. I tried Mediterranean cuisine, the food was cheap & tasty. Both times, my flights were delayed for quite a long time, but in return, watching the night sky was quite nice when the plane took off.

  • Chani

I was in a bit of a rush today, but managed to get through security in good time, this is usually quite a lengthy process with extended lines just to get through security for early morning flights. It does seem security staff are more organised and vocal to help move travellers quickly through the process.

  • r p

Well, this airport is not what I thought it would be. The carpets are a little outdated and smelly When we were getting on and off from the jetstar plane we had to hike up and down the stairs with our luggage, which was not fun. There was no lift or docking bay for the plane, which was highly inconvenient

  • Zarina Mekebayeva

I work there - the best place! Love the Airport - love the Rideshare waiting lot - free parking, can relax and not worry about getting yet another Brisbane City Parking fine - seriously - they want Uber drivers In the city - allow uber drivers to stop at Taxi Zones I still don't appreciate the $300 fine

  • Maggie Chen

The Brisbane airport is less busier than Sydney and Melbourne, makes it much quicker to go through the check in procedure. There are plenty of comfortable seats and public spaces to relax yourself. The rental car parking spots are right outside the arrival hall. You can easily pick up your rental car.

Remote car rental companies are a pain; get on-site rental companies if you can, otherwise lost of hassle and delays. Only one person on the Qantas bag drop service area. With multiple people requiring assistance; poor. Security check reasonably quick; the usual 60 minutes delay following …

Great airport. Connected to the domestic via a frequent free shuttle. Great, not just because of the infrastructure but also because of the attitude of staff. Good reflection of Brizzys relaxed culture. Decent selection of shops and you don't have to go on a marathon to go somewhere.

  • Stephen Desmond

Check in was fairly quick, however a lot of renovations going on. That has led to a major lack of seating and facilities. Add the flight delays to it and you have people everywhere waiting. Maybe it’s a lack of staff but cafe areas tables are not cleaned and bins are overflowing.

  • MCS McDonagh

06.08.2022 Very clean and tidy. Not so busy at 10pm at night. Long wait to check in at Qatar Air- good idea to get there early. Smoking area is NOT advertised or sign posted - this is behind Coffee club, between newsagents. Not many flights cancelled due to being a small airport.

  • Ciara Slattery

Fairly simple process for domestic flights! Took me max 25 mins to get from the dropoff to my gate. Food is pricey but that's standard everywhere so can't fault Brisbane airport for that. Maybe opening a second security gate closer to gates 1-25? Other than that, good experience!

  • Alyssa

Love the restaurants inside the airport. Also has a lot of tables and chairs where you can eat and relax before your flight. This airport has a lot of cocktails and wine options in different restos. They also have uber designated space once you arrived! Very organised!

  • Renato Langersek

It is a disgrace that Brisbane International Airport doesn't have an under cover pickup area for passengers. When I picked up my family from an 8 hour flight, they were completely drenched by the time they hopped into my car. Not a warm welcome for International travellers!!!

  • bxw 1

The airport building is not bad, decent food and shop options. The layout is ok, easy to get to the departure gates. The negative part is the pick up/ drop off section outside, it's not very efficient, there should be separate, designated areas for drop offs and pick ups.

  • Warut Chuayraksa

The airport is not very large, but the interior is spacious, the facilities are not as much as Melbourne airport. The staff are quick and friendly. The restrooms are clean. Public transport is right in front of the entrance, but the parking fee is quite expensive.

  • Billy G

Good size airport for international operations, not many options for foods but still they are okay. Parking also very convenient, very warm staff around, number resting places may need to be increased to make more comfortable. High speed Internet available.

  • Barbora Závadová

Although there is only one flight after 12pm I reckon it’s pretty rude to close everything before midnight. The staff keep looking at their watch and asking each other when they finish etc. I’m sorry but this is not even an average international airport.

  • elizabeth learmonth

Monday I flew to Cairns did the early morning flight never again airport was crowded and ques knee deep took ages to get through not enough staff after a while it was 3 girls instead of 1 .I always fly virgin but would not do early morning flight again

  • Yee Hoong Khoo

Very friendly staff. We were putting on our bag tags and a staff walked passed and just helped us without us asking Then helped another passenger to get bag tags after us. Staff keep toilets clean. Coffee shop staff also very friendly and efficient!

  • Cam

Joke of a set up. Gold Coast airport has more options for food. Better off eating before you go through the gate with lack of options. The AMEX lounge gets commandeered by emirates every night because their lounge is on “Reno” for the last 3 years.

  • John Heron

Arrived on an international flight. It took about 35 mins to get thru. About a third of the time it takes to get thru Heathrow or Doha. So. well done Brisbane Airport. The signs to passenger pickup are confusing and lead nowhere. Otherwise good.

  • Allan Roark

Love Brizzy airport well laid out and spacious. The breezeway to the train station, carpark and rental area is excellent. Good food, great shopping but sadly no postcards. In a digital age it's nice to go old school and send a postcard or two

  • Ange Thurgood

Why is there no playground for the children?? A big green wasted space in the middle of the airport and nothing on it?? A playground would be the best logical idea to put there, so hard to keep kids occupied while waiting for delayed flights.

  • Maurice Beales

Great airport, but felt the quarantine officers had lost some of their friendliness towards the visitors especially since after a13 hour flight new visitors we tired and were met with abrupt treatment. Can be daunting for first time visitors.

  • Zane Harris

As a departing passenger, Brisbane International Airport is great - check-in is easy and smooth and the physical environment is well done. As an arriving passenger, it’s a different story. The physical environment is bland and the staff are

  • Shawn Sagar

Transited through Brisbane. Airport is decent with all the services. Just a tip for transit passengers, don't buy duty free alcohol from the shop you see "before" having your carry on luggage checked. Buy it at the 2nd level duty free shop.

  • Hock Sing Tan

Small airport. But high efficiency. E passport kiosk for some countries with e passport facility such as Malaysian. Easy to operate and skip the queue at immigration counter. Only 1 minute at the kiosk to scan passport and get a clearance

  • aklcx

The toilets in departures are all disgusting at 11am. They have not been cleaned for days. They all stink of old urine, the floors are covered in urine. The toilet bowls are full of defecation. No toilet paper or soap. A national disgrace.

  • mark johnson

Airport is nice but it is ridiculous that they expect people to pay for trolley hire. Such a nice experience when arriving to a great terminal to then expect you to fork out to use a trolley. It leaves a bad first impression of Brisbane.

  • Matt Rogers

BNE for check in or bag drop off is over run with not enough staff, counters or other. Flying in a great experience, but for anyone travelling regional, allow more than 90 mins for doing these things, otherwise you may miss ur plane.

  • Andrew Porteous

The international waiting area is a little sterile in the early morning. Read that boring. Might be better past customs. Very little is open. Upon my return flight, 11 months later, and after 5.00pm as stores were open. Much better.

  • Hamish Bowden

Great set-up for pick up and drop off passengers at domestic terminal, BUT it would be even better and far easier if there was specific zones on pavement along strip to agree to meet at (and avoid need to trawl along street).

  • Geoff Appleyard

Had to pick up family at the International Terminal & got a call from my daughter she was ready, got a ticket at entry thena parking spot for loading luggage & then drove to ticket box & was on the way home in 3 mins. Great

  • Lesley Clarkson

Qantas Staff where ssi helpful and smiling all the time. So nice to see. Airport had plenty of food and drink options if needed. Other shops too. The amenities and all other areas are nice and clean. Well done to all staff

  • Afa Tauli

Looking old and empty, parking / pick up is confusing and out of the way, the information centre people are great but feel for them as people are directed to other side of airport for transport like uber, trains and buses

  • Edward Meallin

Airport security like most places have a massive power trip. This place in particular is disgusting, make their own rules for stupid things. Pulling apart someone’s yarn of wool to test its strength because they think it

  • Jason Baggs

Feed your kids at the servo before you come to Brisbane airport. Basic over price priced food and subway past customs. Coffee hot enough to warm your bath. Cleaner toilets at tour local school. Staff are awesome.

  • ussama -

Baggage comes after 45 minutes. Then only limited officers at immigration. 3 flights queued up and around 500 people waiting in queue. Took me one and a half hour to get out of airport after 23 hours of travel

  • David Luckhurst-Smith

I live under a flight path, when I tried communicating with the airport about changing flight paths, I was completely ignored. I refuse to ever catch a plane again - airplanes are the worst & Covid proved

  • Jay Z

Smaller than you'd expect for a major airport but clean and efficient. Sometimes a bit confusing to change terminals because they don't clearly show the times on which the bus shuttle arrives or leaves.

  • Leslie McLawrence

Arrived much too early for my 23.10 flight due to transfer organised by my cruise line. Not very much before check in. The airport is quite clean and airy, but not suitable for a long wait to check in.

  • Dennis Rollings

Very easy to move around to your flight gates with well sign posted directions and lots if shopping for the ladies and Cafes and restaurants to relax in or duty free shopping and rental cars available

  • Diana Waines

Not a huge airport & not crowded on our last few visits. Effortless transition from check in & through security. Good duty free area after security check. Spacious lounge areas with cafes & shops.

  • Fletcher Sewell

Beware - Nice car owners - Steer clear! What did you do my car?? Perfectly clean car with concrete water sprayed on roof and bonnet. Ceramic coating ruined. I want my money back. Undercover? Nope…

  • Nathaniel

Incredibly brusque security personnel, lots of raised voices as one would expect only in the US. Sydney airport was so much better. Immigration officers were not in the best of moods, either.

  • Yodaman Solo

A nice all around airport hub in the beautiful city of Brisbane Australia. It’s not as large as the other two big cities of Sydney and Melbourne but has enough to do the job well. …
