Having just moved to Toowong Brisbane, the rates here are higher then inner Sydney and less services. The green bridges are an improvement but are 5 to 10 years away lol and for Brisbane to become a truly international city and attract financial growth and the best you need to provide the services and choices. Daylight savings, gets dark really early, limited on what you can do, stuck indoors and you spend less, far more positives than negatives by having it.. Brisbane is still backward behind the times in many ways! there is only one supermarket here in Toowong a Coles. I see their use to be a Woolworths here but we need some more options with the population growth. and the newly built apartment complexes. If you want the local economy and jobs to grow you have to provide the services otherwise people will leave. It's a no brainer. Brisbane has improved but still got along way to go..
Poor performance from our Lord Mayor. 18 years ago Brisbane was the best city in Australia. Perth was awesome too! Quirk and Shrinner have seemingly followed the easy path of huge pay rises an low service delivery. Piss and wind. The deficit speaks for itself. 2.4 Billion Just for our Council - 4.5 years ago - what is it now? Mean while they allow the Rapid Response Group to terrorise the Citizens to fill the void in their fiscal black holes. We deserve better leadership Indeed many are unhappy but few do anything about it. Rising rates, decreased services and thankfully & finally councillors getting charged and jailed. The cancer is deep
I thought Council was responsible for issuing infringements for drivers using the footpath as a driveway especially nearly every day in Montague Rd West End. So why does Council tell me I have to contact The Police? But I say nothing well be done by the police, as I reported many drivers and cyclists over years at one location for speeding, running the red, not using blinkers and hand signals, not giving way especially to buses and using the carpark to beat the lights even those the arrow was green. And no action by police.
Just read in the Courier Mail that there is A CEO for Bribane City. He is on base salary if over $600K plus an undisclosed bonus. WTF? More than the PM and why an undisclosed bonus. How is that for transparency amd following laws of the land. Rate payers pay for these Elite. Why does Mr Colin Jensen get a massive package and gives us almost 4 Billion in council debt?
Brisbane has really lost its shine, some parks have become dangerous no go areas, beggars hangout around post office square and you have to watch out for e-scooters flying past you on crowded pavements. King George Square is a concrete heat island with little to no shade. The roads are in awful condition and it's not pedestrian friendly, especially around Eagle St.
Brisbane City Council is one of the richest Councils in the world with a revenue of $3.2 billion dollars. The building was built by British and beautiful. These pictures were taken outside Council building during Christmas lighting 2020. Council does nothing to stop illegal parking on footpaths under its control even if its a safety issue.
My wife and I visited the Botanical Gardens today and we were thoroughly impressed with the way in which it is laid out. Also we had lunch at the cafe which was absolutely delicious. We noticed that the Information Center was in a sad state of repair, and could do with a make over.
I made a mistake I accidentally parked my car in a clearway definitely my fault happy to pay the fine and the towing charges but definitely not happy with the damage to my car I suppose that's life no responsibility accepted by the council
The keep placing litter under my windscreen wipers. I knocked over a rubbish bin near Southbank for revenge (which I soon after tidied up because I care about the environment, unlike those mother flippers).
Got a parking ticket after ringing council regarding a faulty meter. Spoke to 3 different people and got 3 different answers regarding their policies. Get your story straight and don't waste peoples time.
You guys are taking transportation to the next level. I love the city cycle and the city hopper. The public facilities and parks are very clean and tidy. You are the definition of Ehrenmänner
This is a great public space, it's always nice and quiet, and there's plenty of space for people to have their own areas. The bathrooms do need to be maintained quite a bit better though.
deteriorating service quality, inconsistent and incorrect advice/support, non-professuonal attitude. Some good consultants remain but are disappearing. can not justify our rates paying.
Very interesting building in a nice location with lots of green all around. Well lit at night, and takes on a new striking facade when awash with lights. Makes for a nice photo op.
Absolute gamechanger!! These guys are definitely Ehrenmänner, especially Lord Mayor! Making transportation easy with the CityCycle and the free ferry! Gotta love these guys!❤❤❤
You morons need to stop fining people for stupid things and taking the word of idiots who make reports/complaints with no proof of the incident. This is why people are leaving.
Shame on you council for sending a fine to a coffee shop for graffiti they didn't do. Absolute pure disgusting behaviour for a council and the humans that work here.
The word unless keeps to my mind when dealing with the the Brisbane council.Losing information on jobs they are meant to do.They need to get there act together NOW!
We were one day late paying our rates and were fined $15 as pensioners this seems unfair. We are never late but seems some discretion could be used.
Some payments can only be made by money order ($13 cost at post shop) or by cheque. What century does this council think we are living in?
I recently visited Brisbane and I loved it! I'm grateful to have family there so I have opportunity to visit again soon. ✌️ …
Absolutely dismal service. All the government employees do nothing and make it impossible to get any kind of license or permit.
Awesome 5 Star Excellent Services Brisbane City QLD Australia …
