Booked for surgery and overnight stay and asked to come in to the hospital at 1130. Check in process was swift and I was admitted and told to sit in the waiting room. This is where the communication ended. I sat in that waiting room until 4 o’clock watching everyone else go into theatre before me. I went to the desk and asked what the issue was and what the problem was, and why I was waiting so long and no one could tell me, finally, someone told me that my theatre was running late.. I then waited another two hours before moving through to the next stage but this time it was 6 o’clock with no food or fluid since midnight the night before. No one came and ask approx ed me how i was. No one came and asked me if I was okay, or if I wanted something. I finally went down to theatre at 730pm. My issue is not that my theatre was delayed, I know emergencies happen, and theatres or operations are more involved than first thought. This could have all been avoided if someone had called me and said they’re running late and pushed me back to come to Hospital or appropriate time like 5 pm. The next part of my complaint is the absolute atrocious communication. I sat there in the waiting room, watching everyone go in to theatre one after the other whilst I continued to sit there waiting, waiting, waiting with absolutely nobody telling you what was happening. Four hours later, I had to go up and ask them what was happening. I sat there and watched them all talk amongst themselves. Could hear what they were doing on the weekend all the while I was sitting there waiting and watching. I gave feedback and have heard nothing which is why I’m leaving this review. Pretty poor communication and behaviour from a private facility I don’t think I will be having any further procedures at this place, I will always seek out doctors that operate at other facilities
I recently had spinal surgery at Brisbane private hospital. From the minute I arrived everyone was so helpful and friendly. Dr Winter was absolutely amazing. His Anaesthetist Peter and his staff could not of been more caring and understanding. I told Dr Winter I was feeling scared and then Peter came into the room and gave me something to make me feel good. After the surgery I had the best nurses looking after me, plus Peter came out and made sure I was not in pain and I woke up feeling good. I was taken up to the 3rd floor. Nurse Krystal went out of her way to find me a fan as I can't sleep very well without one, she brought it in just before she went home. The other nurses Bec, Kasey, Catherine, Hugo and all the other staff on level 3. Sorry I can't remember everyone. The staff could not of done more for me. My overnight stay turned into 4 day stay. The nurses who work on the neurology ward know exactly what they are doing and have great sense of humours. Dr Winter came to see me every morning to make sure I didn't have any problems. Peter the anaesthetist dropped in on Saturday morning to see how I was going. Such an amazing man. I think the only problem I had was getting cutlery that wasn't washed with my meal. It would be good if the menu didn't just say the name of the food but included what was in it. I received a dinner that had many things I couldn't eat. The portion was so small. Being a Sunday nothing was open, evenif there was somethingopeni wouldn't of been able to walk to anyhow. It would of been nice if there was a vending machine so when you couldn't eat what the kitchen sent you could still grab something. The nurses on the 3rd floor are absolutely fantastic. Thank you again ladies and gentlemen.
An Exceptional Recovery Stay with Kind and Supportive Staff from Brisbane Private Hospital. From booking in front counter I wish I got her name the young lady made me feel at ease her kindness. 2 November I booked into the hospital. I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the incredible floor staff who went above and beyond during my recent two-day recovery stay. Their kindness, support, and exceptional service truly made a difference in my overall experience. I would particularly like to highlight the outstanding efforts of Linda, Frank, and Aman, who stood out among the remarkable crew and made me feel safe and comfortable throughout my stay. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine concern for my well-being. Linda, Frank, and Aman consistently demonstrated a level of professionalism that exceeded my expectations. They were attentive, compassionate, and always ready to assist with any request or concern I had. Their dedication to providing exceptional care was evident in their every action. Thank you once again for making my recovery stay a positive and memorable experience. Kindest regards, Kim (Bed 9)
Very clean and the rooms are quite spacious. Getting around the hospital can be challenging as the signage are quite confusing. Similar to majority of hospitals parking is quite expensive. The train station is a better option. It is around 550m from the train station. The staff are brilliant and helpful. The meals are quite tasty . My husband who is an Army Veteran was admitted here for a shoulder reconstruction. The staff to patient ratio is impressive. However, in terms of delivery on nursing care plan pretty dissapointing. Lack of attention from nursing department. I had Krystal(attending nurse on duty)on the second day after surgery. Not only did she lack compassion, uncaring. She might be in the wrong profession. (I will definitely bring this feedback to her Nursing Supervisor attention) On the other hand, Dr. Cutbush Shoulder Surgeon even checked up on my husband right after the ops. Just shows how caring and professional he truly is. Dr. Cutbush went above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Dr. Cutbush and to his wonderful team for looking after my husband while he was admitted at the hospital. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Could not fault anything in this hospital. Spent one week in neurosurgery ward and one week in rehabilitation ward. Surgery with neurosurgeon Dr Winter went smoothly, with no after-surgery complications. Dr French, head of the rehabilitation ward attended each day and my pain was dealt with promptly and cheerfully, and reviewed when necessary. Staff were caring, cheerful and obliging, with prompt attention when called for. The rooms were modern with up-to-date facilities, which importantly, created a comfortable and relaxing environment. Fresh sheets and towels and cleaning was done every day. A thank you to the chef for the marvelous array of food on menu. The variety and presentation would excel some restaurants. A thank you also to my anaesthetist Dr Tucker, who took the time to visit me, and explain some of the procedures during the operation. Overall, I would highly recommend any stay in this hospital ...
Unreal experience from admission to discharge. Had my 3 year old daughter in for surgery. Doctor Mitz and her team did an absolute amazing job. That night my daughter was back to herself and showing minimal swelling and pain. The nurses were all very helpful and polite, waiting times were minimal even with a small delay in front with a complicated surgery before ours. I’ve read a couple of bad reviews and couldn’t disagree more to be honest. Wonderful experience wouldn’t hesitate to go back again. Yes it’s a smaller hospital and there’s no beds in the room to stay, but honestly it’s a small price to pay to stay with your loved ones. Can’t expect a massive private room for everyone with a spare bed. Hospital was really tidy and didn’t meet one bad person whilst in there. Highly recommend :) Photo of Olivia only hours after discharge. Thanks again team.
Some areas of the hospital were quite run down and in need of attention. However what you want/need in a hospital more than anything are great staff……I was in for shoulder surgery recently and I must say that the nursing staff were fantastic…..in particular, Jo. She was on the 7pm to 7am shift. I required quite a lot of assistance during my stay, and not once did she look flustered, stressed or tired. Quite the opposite in fact. Always smiling and clearly a genuinely caring person. ALL the nursing staff were terrific in fact. Very impressed and of the opinion that they deserve far better pay and conditions than what they currently receive.
I recently underwent 2 small procedures at Brisbane Private Hospital. I would like thank Dr. Tony Rahman and all specialist staff and nurses for their professionalism and the helpful and cheery way they go about their business. From the young lady with a welcoming smile at reception to the nurse who offered me a fresh sandwich and a cup of tea post procedure and everyone in between, my experience was of a well run, professional hospital. I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews online. My fears were unfounded. The best hospital visit I have experienced.
I recently had a stay in Brisbane private hospital and I cannot say enough about how wonderful the treatment was from the nurses doctors, physiotherapist and all the staff at the hospital. Ebony and Rebecca helped me through a day where I was not feeling very well and supported me for the rest of my time I was there. I will not forget their kindness. Particularly i like to thank nurses Marivic, Maddy and Helen and trainee nurses Rose and Rin.For their kindness and care. I will happily recommend The Brisbane Private Hospital to all. Thank you.
I had a knee replacement under Dr John Gallagher. Both the hospital and Dr Gallagher’s team in the operating theatre and in his consulting rooms were fantastic. The staff on Floor D, as well as the Physio’s were very friendly and attentive. As were the pre op staff. I understand it’s a hospital feeding lots of people but the food could be improved a bit but it was probably the medication making me not enjoy the food. I recommend this hospital. Thank you to nurse Amy for racing down stairs to deliver something I had left behind.
BYO FOOD IF YOUR DIABETIC! They have now idea about diabetic foods clearly not trained at all. Foods high in carbs and sugars. Best diet high protein good fats green leafy foods nil sugar foods nil frouctose. The food they served drove up bsl from 5.4 up to 18.7 in one meal, and tried to tell me is diabetic friendly, only if you want to die. Go see st Vincent’s private for a real hospital that cares about you and your health. If you have a death wish come here they will find a way to kill you!!!!!
My husband was in the orthopedic ward and quite frankly, the care and presentation of the hospital is very poor. There is obviously a serious lack of nurses in the wards, with patient/nurse ratio a major concern. The nurses are clearly stretched to the limit, making patient care far below standard. Cleanliness and hygiene are also very questionable. After reading the previous reviews, there are serious consistent issues which need to be addressed urgently, which I fully intend to take up,
I spent 4 days on the 3rd level neurosurgery ward after having spinal surgery. From admission to discharge the whole process was a breeze. The care I received from doctors, nurses and staff was amazing I can't thank them enough for all their care and efforts. The rooms were very comfortable, private and new , the meals provided were great. If I could give a higher star rating than 5 I would. thank you:)
While the nursing staff and drs are absolutely fantastic caring amazing people there kitchen staff all need to be sacked in tge 2 weeks I was there they did not get 1 meal right which was extremely frustrating as I have a limited diet so I had to get my husband to bring me in meals . So I don’t know why they give you a menu because they clearly don’t care what you order
My son just had ACL reconstruction surgery here. Everyone from the surgeon to the nurses, from the receptionist to the orderlies, they were ALL so friendly and helpful. I can not fault anything. They made a very anxious patient feel relaxed. Nothing was to much. Highly recommended
I have been in Brisbane private hospital for a few days now due to having a procedure done. The team have been absolutely amazing and I want to say an extra special thanks to Lana a registered nurse on level 3, she went above and was so compassionate!
Just had my knee surgery and I’m so happy with my nurses, big shout out to Ella in the morning and Anna in the afternoon. So knowledgeable and caring, both looking for me patiently every second, I created a close bond with both and was the
Some of the nurses were very good and others just didn't care. Above all the food was terrible. It arrived slightly warm or just cold. It took 2 days to get a menu otherwise you just got what they sent you. Some of the food I couldn't eat.
I had day surgery atBrisbane Private Hospital yesterday. I couldn’t be more thrilled at every aspect from checking in to being assisted to the pick up area. The staff were exceptional in terms of their knowledge, empathy and kindness and
I would like to thank Brisbane private hospital for looking after me while I was there having my left shoulder operated on. The 2 nurses that looked after me were great , but Chloe on the night shift was outstanding nothing was too much
I have been to this hospital a few times and was great experience.. how ever this time was disgraceful, I was not given a menu to order food .. was admitted at 2pm . Back in my room B2 by around 6pm after surgery.. I asked the nurse on
I thought share my experience with you people, about this place,,,, prices and rude doctors with dodgy certificate come from overseas to this lovely country and trading clients and pension with rude taking,,,,,,
Everyone was professional and sensitive about my needs. It was my first time to go through hospital procedure, general anesthesia, etc and it went smoothly from admission to discharge. I had a great experience.
I had a terrible experience at this hospital. In the first recovery I waited an hour and a half after waking to be able to get to the next recovery, no water, help to the bathroom or pain meds given at that
I went in for day surgery late last week. I was a little nervous going into it but the nurse Suellen G., was great, and patient. Suellen reassurance definitely made the whole process alot easier.
Easy to get to from the Train Station at Roma Street... I was Booked in at 6am & Had Surgery by 7.30am.. Very pleased with the Overnight Stay and Very happy with the Post Surgery recovering well
Some of nurses were good athers were terrible just didnt care at all.Lucky hubby took time off work to come in and care for me.Physio was awsome and very caring.Thankgod for Uber food delivery.
My Father in law had a colonoscopy done here last month and the service was very good. They just did a follow up hence my review. Our experience was pleasant from the first consult.
Sterile morbid environment. TV access a joke . Screen no bigger than a laptop. Food...yuk! Rooms cold. Cleaner fully complained the whole time while in bathroom.
BPH 3YO overnight stay tonsil/adenoidectomy and grommets. Firstly I was not called by the hospital to confirm admission 48 hrs prior to
