I’m very disappointed with my experience with Brooklyn Pharmacy. In January I attempted to transfer my prescriptions to Brooklyn in person. I watched an employee write down all of my personal information and Rx info and assure me they would complete the process. When I called 2 weeks before I needed a refill, the employee on the phone said they had no record of my prescriptions and assured me they would take care of it. After 2 weeks when I didn’t hear anything, I stopped in the pharmacy to check if they were ready and they said they had no record of them. At that time the pharmacist intervened and filled one prescription by the next morning. But when my husband stopped in for his own Rx a couple weeks later, he asked about the status of the transfer of rest of my prescriptions and they said they had no record of them. After this third attempt to transfer, I decided to find yet another new pharmacy. But when they attempted to contact Brooklyn, they said they had no record of the prescriptions. I called my original pharmacy to see if I could understand what was happening and they informed me they had faxed Brooklyn and had never received any follow up. Due to the laws/policies, they no longer had my prescription. When we finally were able to get in touch with Brooklyn, they were polite but refused to acknowledge their mistake. Even with directly asking for them to simply own their error, we were only met with “that is understandable.” Somehow it was easier to get in touch with an on-call doctor after hours and get a new Rx than it was to get help from Brooklyn. I hate to pull my business from a local pharmacy, but I simply cannot trust my care to Brooklyn Pharmacy.

I love Brooklyn pharmacy! Why would you want to have your prescriptions filled at a grocery store pharmacy when you can get really caring, genuine old-fashioned personal service from this sweet little pharmacy? Because of course you would! My living space is outside of their delivery area--- otherwise they'd be my pharmacy in a heartbeat. I might do that anyway! I was aware of them because I've attended many concerts at neighboring Classic Pianos. When I was looking to get my first Covid vaccination, I made an online appointment with them. Result: no hassle, a six minute wait, pleasant employees, a friendly pharmacist who knows how to give shots---just a perfect experience. And I get the boosters from them, too. They have a cool display of pharmaceutical bottles and gadgets from a century ago, and and a large one-cent scale that tells your fortune, and it actually works . And guess what? They have the most loving and sweet big ol' house dog for your kids to fall in love with...and the same goes for you. Brooklyn Pharmacy is simply your kind of place.

I really hate to do this to a local, family owned business, but Brooklyn Pharmacy really screwed me on this one. I ordered a compounded medication from them last week and was told it would be ready that week, as soon as Friday. I expressed that I needed it definitely by Monday as I was taking a big trip. I also expressed that I needed a three-month supply. Come Monday, the medication wasn't ready. Tuesday, I received word that it was ready, but the amount was only 1 month instead of the needed three months. When I called them on Tuesday to see if I could they could fix their mistake, they said they didn't have the staff or time to be able to fix it and offered no solution for me. Now, I will have to struggle to find this necessary medication, somehow, in Mexico. I expect better from a local, family-owned shop. That's the whole reason I switched all my medications from Walgreens to Brooklyn a year ago. Now, it seems I would have been better off going with a large corporate brand instead of my local place and that just makes me sick to my stomach.

I have been going to Brooklyn Pharmacy for 40 plus years. I used to live really close . For the last 18 years I've lived across town. I never considered going to a pharmacy that's close to My hjome. They are the best period !! They call .e by name. We have a relationship that I would never have at a corporate pharmacy. The staff are all caring and give excellent cutomer service. I thought when the other owner retired ND sold his business that would be it. I thought it would lose its mom & pop neighborhood pharmacy feel. I was so happy that the current owner bought the business. Pat is loved and appreciated by anyone fortunate enough to do business there. They always have what I need. If not he will get it. I've only had a couple prescriptions filled there. Both were filled quickly and accurately and at a wonderful price. I was quite surprised at how much cheaper this Pharmacy is compared to all the others I checked out. I called around pricing my medication. Brooklyn Pharmacy had by far the best cash price of any place in all of Portland including Costco. The pharmacist was wonderful and went out of her way to help me. The man pharmacist also was very wonderful when he filled my other prescription that I brought in. They were very fast I was surprised at how quick they got my prescription ready. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I've been going to a small mom and pop Pharmacy for a few decades now. When they got a new owner I had to start looking for a new place. I think I have found my new Pharmacy.

I switched to Brooklyn pharmacy after CVS failed to fill my refill prescriptions for weeks and gave no notice to me or the public as to why until I went in and talked to someone in the store (they still couldn’t fill my Rx due to staffing issues). Brooklyn pharmacy has been amazing. They’re super quick at filling things, they’ll answer the phone, and they’re just friendlier than normal pharmacies. I tell everyone I know to go here because they are truly like the old school pharmacy where you can rely on them to take care of your needs. They are also where my partner and I have gotten our COVID boosters and it was stress free and easy with Brooklyn Pharmacy.

My prescriptions are always ready on time, sometimes even the same day that I call in the refill. You can also refill your prescriptions online, even without making an account! Everyone who has helped me there have been helpful and knowledgeable. I especially appreciate Pat, who went out of his way to make sure I had a 3 day supply when I first went to this pharmacy, and was low on one of my prescriptions. For context, I have epilepsy. It's so dangerous if I don't get my refills on time. He wanted to be certain I didn't run out. Brooklyn Pharmacy is the only pharmacy I'll be going to in Portland.

Love these guys, so glad I finally switched away from the major pharmacy chains. Super efficient, communicative, and reliable - I don't have to go through a huge debacle every month and walk them through how to bill my meds every single time like I always had to at Walmart. Only slightly higher prices out-of-pocket (like a few dollars per refill), but more than worth it to avoid the headache. On top of that, their vintage storefront is absolutely adorable and the staff are all lovely. I hope they last another hundred years. Give your local pharmacy a shot, you'll be glad you did.

First of all I grew up in rural Ohio and worked in "an ole time" pharmacy, so when I walked in to Brooklyn pharmacy it brought those memories flooding back. Wonderful memories, But, in addition to my being sentimental, the detail and attention the owner/staff have put into setting up the COVID vaccine protocols are excellent. The chap who gave me vaccination was beyond friendly, informative, congenial -- just plain and simply a nice, cheerful person. Thank you. That was the best experience I have had in retail store in today's world. Keep it up!

My prescriptions have been ready to pick up the same day, and I have never had to wait to speak with the pharmacist. In addition to great customer service, Brooklyn Pharmacy provides compounded medications for your family pet or farm animal, multi-dose packaging (bundling medications by date and time), and home delivery within the Sellwood area.

I appreciate the care and attention here. As insurance companies continue to try to move us online, I will fight for the kind of neighborhood community feeling and attentive care that places like Brooklyn Pharmacy practice every day. I’ve been a customer since at least 2007, maybe before. So long I can’t really recall. I count on them, especially as I have some allergies that need care and attention. They look out for their customers, and I appreciate that they are here.

I've been using Brooklyn Pharmacy for over 20 years since I use to live 2 blocks from there when Mike ran the place. Fast forward to 2022 I haven't lived in the Brooklyn neighborhoods for over 13 years but wouldn't use anyone else for my prescription needs. Pat took over the place a few years back and hasn't missed a beat in helping me with a smile and top notch professional advice/service. The crew at Brooklyn pharmacy are always friendly, helpful and willing to help.

Always there for me and now for us as my husband also switched to Brooklyn Pharmacy. Good move! Reliable, friendly, ethical service always thinking of our needs. And, only three miles from our home. And, guess what? They received 500 doses of the Covid vaccine and made it very easy to sign up via Health Mart. Choose your local pharmacy and not huge corporate ones! At Brooklyn they’re so kind, timely, compassionate, and so knowledgeable. Picking up in store is honestly a highlight of my day. It’s so calm and the resident poodle Hal will take care of any anxiety you might have. Hal loves a treat too. If coming in store is a hassle then they’ll ship your meds to you! A good friend of mine who is a senior citizen, needed special handling for his prescriptions. The usual pharmacies handled him like a big bank and did not help him at all, no information, nothing. Brooklyn however went out of their way to help my friend with open conversation, honesty and developing trust. He is happy as can be and is now a life long customer. Brooklyn Pharmacy is the best pharmacy in Portland. They are commutative, professional, and reliable. They always offer sound advice and are so well prepared with my medications they often contact me before I have a chance to reach out. We wish we had found Brooklyn Pharmacy sooner! After LOTS of searching for a Covid booster appt, we discovered this lovely little local spot. The staff are sweet and attentive, they have a great supply of essentials, and they clearly know their regular customers. And they do pet prescriptions!!! This will be our home pharmacy from now on.
