They were all kind except 1 guy always seemed he thought he was better than everyone. But only saw him twice from the 4 times I was there. First I had a lot of lights on the car all at once. I understand they had to figure out the first told me possible wiring issues then they stated it was sensors for the exhaust that after replacement it would reset and all I’d have to do is drive it and it would all come off and get out of limp mode. They also told me that I needed a new runner for my intake common VW TDI problem and the common code came up. but this is when I was picking up car. So I took home and drove it like I should nothing changed on car it was still in limp mode I proceeded to change runners myself due to I felt like they didn’t want to work on my car. I changed it no change so I did a bunch of research and realized that when sensors are changed and the vehicle is having exhaust issues it needs a regeneration on car to clean everything so when I took it back to get regeneration they couldn’t said I needed a new Dpf I asked for them to look up and call me with info on new one never got a call. In the mean time I attempted to clean Dpf sent it back after cleaning this place still couldn’t reset and I never got a call for replacement parts. First they charged me over 1400 dollars and said it would fix it which it didn’t. I felt like they threw parts at it hoping for the best which didn’t work atall. I felt like the knowledge is there but the fact is I told them whatever it takes to get this car into great shape I will pay whatever and they didn’t care to inspect and figure out issue before throwing parts at it that didn’t help. I was hoping to find a great shop to take 2 other vehicles to but they didn’t gain any future business from me. Response to your response: Throwing parts at a car isn’t a way to do business I had a bad Dpf and you claimed it was sensors that hardly fail if you replace a sensor and same code continues then that wasn’t the issue you shouldn’t charge and take advantage of a customer. I was excited with the experience that I thought I had until I found out you didn’t fix anything and the same codes and problems continued I paid you over 1400 dollars for nothing. I will keep friends and family away from this business.

I don't write online reviews, but out of gratitude I feel it is important to write this one. A few months ago I was on a road trip driving from Texas to Colorado. My car broke down near Albuquerque on a Saturday (when most auto shops are closed) and I had the car towed - AAA brought it to Don's. I had to continue on the trip in a friend's car that was part of the road trip and leave my car in Albuquerque for a mechanic to look at. To add to the complications - I wouldn't even be able to make it back to Albuquerque for a few days due to my obligations in Colorado. I called Don's and spoke with Cliff on Monday. I explained the situation and he agreed to take a look at the car. Long story short: I was in a terribly stressful situation, worried about my car, and in a different state. They had every opportunity to take advantage of that but instead Cliff was able to diagnose the problem (not even mechanical - bizarre issue with tires), treated me with the utmost respect, and was very understanding of the situation - agreeing to provide storage for my car until I could get back to Albuquerque a few days later. They are a smaller shop and it probably wasn't easy for them to have my car there taking up space without being worked on, but they bent over backwards to accommodate the crappy circumstances I was in. I offered to pay for the storage of the car but since they didn't do any mechanical work they didn't charge me anything. What started off as a disaster was mitigated by the staff at Don's (and especially Cliff) and I can't thank them enough.

SCAM ALERT!!!SCAM ALERT!!!. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS. I have Nissan Pathfinder that I just put a brand new starter, battery, and alternator in. I drove to the gas station and it would not start after jumping it. I towed I'm to these guys. After about a hour or so they called and said the security module is fried and needs to be replaced but they can't find the part. But they have a really good tech guy that could bypass it and it will work. They wanted 600$ for this. I goggled how to reboot the security feature and it said to open the back tailgate all the way and close. I tried and it didn't work. It then said to simply use the key not the key fob to open the drivers side door. I tried that it started right up. They acted like they didn't know what happened. They were basically stuttering. Giving every excuse out in their book. So I guess their tech guy is not as good as they think lol. They explained when I got there the fee was 120$. He charged me65$ and said that would be fine. They are real crooked. If trying to scam money from you is what you want go see service advisor Dustin T or the tech Jeff C.I think it’s only right to give me back the 70$you guys stole to save yourself. It’s pretty embarrassing that I had to google how to fix it and show you guys and still charge me 70$

I hit a huge pot hole this morning on Wyoming Blvd, which thankfully ended up having me pull over into a lot that is shared with Don’s Auto Services Center. I’m 8 months pregnant and had my toddler with me so I was definitely feeling frazzled as to what to do (especially since my husband is away on business all week so I didn’t have him nearby to come help us). I noticed the auto shop pretty quickly and walked us over there. The manager told me they did not do new tires, but he would put a spare one on for me so I could at least get my car to a mechanic who could. He and a few other gentleman working there put the spare on for me, and were very nice to explain exactly what was wrong with the rim/tire so I’d know what to tell a mechanic. After they were done, I asked the manager if I could pay them and he said “Nope-if it were my wife and child in this kind of situation, I would just appreciate someone helping them”. I could not be more grateful for the help I recieved today, and the kindness of the men who helped me from Don’s Auto Services. I will definitely be coming back for any future services needed!

I have to share my experience with Cliff, at Don’s Auto on 6/7/22. I had come up to ABQ from Las Cruces to pick up 1800lbs of tile for a remodeling project. I was driving a 2013 F150 that I had never driven before.. a new to me truck. The emergency brake had just been replaced by the previous owner and it would not release, or so I thought. The light would not go out, the warning sounds would not stop, and I was not comfortable driving it all the way to Las Cruces especially with all of that weight in the back end. My daughter’s in-laws live in ABQ and they recommended Don’s to me. So I called them and asked them to quickly look at the emergency brake to see if it was really engaged or not. They said bring it in! Cliff looked and said it was most likely a loose brake cable and it would be fine to drive. He also put it up on the rack and checked all of my tires knowing I had a long drive. I got home just fine! Everyone in ABQ has a gem of a repair shop in Don’s Auto..and it’s good to know there are still truly good people in the world.

Top notch service. I called them about brakes and a price estimate. They said bring in my car and they will give it a free inspection and be able to give me an actual price. I took it in at 7:30am they got it right in. Gave a full inspection and the price. The price was steep but seems the going rate. They told me they could have it totally done in about an hour and a half 2 hours. I needed to get my son to school so I told them I'd have to come back. The GM gave my son a ride to school and I tagged along. He was really friendly and courteous. The mechanic working on my car was really great too. We went for a test drive so he could hear what I was hearing. He got in there and fixed my brakes wonderfully. They also took photos and gave a very detailed report of things that needed repairs and things that were in good condition. I highly recommend this shop. I didn't feel pressured or swindled in any way. Everyone was incredibly nice and friendly

I love Don's Auto! I'm so grateful to have found them. I moved to ABQ mid 2020 from out of state and didn't have any friends or family to ask for a mechanic referral, so I searched for auto businesses with stellar reviews (my biggest priority was finding someone I could trust that was honest & would be real with me - someone that wouldn't take advantage of me). The reviews for Don's were promising so I went for it and they have been nothing but perfect human beings, lol. I've mostly interacted with Cliff with all my services and I appreciate him so much... so much so that I'm looking for all the places online that I could possibly leave a review, haha. I'm going to send everyone in need of a mechanic his way!!! He is trustworthy, hardworking, and will do his best to be there for you. So..... if you are hunting for a new mechanic, give Don's Auto & Service Center a chance. You won't regret it!!!

This might turn into a long review so let me cut to the chase. What you want when going to a new mechanic is to feel as cared for as the vehicle. The staff at Brown's all listened to my extensive narrative regarding the concerns I had then planed a course of action and followed through. Along the way, as with most 10+ year old cars, there were other concerns they had that needed attention. We discussed options and went forward with replacement parts and repairs. We mostly drove the car to walk our dog nearby but recently began driving two days a week on rt-14 to Santa Fe and noticed some sluggishness on the hills. We had no idea Our 2011 Honda Fit was in such a state because it now drives and feels like new and we now have a new repair shop.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Brown's auto. Always stellar service, great employees and I never feel like they are judging me because I don't know the intricacies of vehicles. I'm a real estate agent, not a mechanic. It's a small shop and it's not bright and shiny with 700 people trying to up sell you or keep your car for days because they "can't find the part". It's clean, and looks like a professional auto repair should look... Like competent, honest people work there. I kind of want to keep them a secret, because I don't want them to get so busy that they're impossible to get into, but I can't not spread good news about an auto shop. Oh I've been going to them for 8 years. Never been let down once.

I totally recommend Don’s auto for your next vehicle maintenance. My vehicle was badly damaged and required approximately eight hours of work to repair i.e. (brakes, rotators, O2 sensors, tire rotation, and front/rear struts). Cliff and the rest of their staff ordered the parts and completed the repair in less than 5 hours. I gave the staff less than a days notice to repair my vehicle. The customer service, friendly atmosphere and their ability to listen and diagnose needed vehicle repairs above and beyond any vehicle repair shop I have been to in over 20 years. Again, do yourself a favor, visit the shop, sit back, and watch the team work magic for you.

EXCELLENT experience !!!! Called Brown's for a diagnosis on engine noise at 4:00PM in the afternoon, they had me in within 36 hours. They gave me a ride home and picked me up on time. They completed their diagnosis on time, told me what to expect and offered a short-term and long-term solution. Everyone was super friendly. A special shout-out to Dustin for his amazing service. Loved that Brown's was collecting material (not monetary) charitable donations for families in our community. Brown's was matching the donations by applying credit to client invoices. AWESOME!!! This auto service is GREAT! Cliff and his crew have gone above and beyond to get my 1997 Chevy Van back on the road. This shop is run very professionally, with expert service, kindness and efficiency! I noted how Cliff always pays attention to his customer’s concerns. . Called and spoke to Cliff after being turned down for a rear dual axle bearing/axle replacement on a 2000 Toyota by two other shops. Cliff and his staff, who I did not get the names of, were all very cool and professional, even confirming the diagnosis in front of me. I was quoted for the service and the final balance was very close to the estimate. Brought the vehicle in on a Monday, they were clearly working on other projects, and I still got it back on Wednesday. These guys made a customer with that job and they’ll likely make a customer out of you too.

I was unfortunate enough to break a timing chain just outside of Albuquerque on the third day of a very long road trip just before rush hour. I was fortunate to have found Don's Auto & Service Center! I was shaken from the unexpected engine trouble, it was past closing time, and they took my call. Manager Cliff Griffith was incredibly accommodating, going the extra mile to make sure I found safe lodging in Uptown, and kept me informed on the state of my vehicle. Cliff and his crew were amazing! Honest, professional, with integrity!! Highly recommend!

Brought in my truck for a coolant leak and oil leak. Fixed the coolant leaked and Cliff was very honest about the oil leak and offered (and did) clean up the oil pan so we can monitor it to ensure if it is actually leaking rather than just sepage from being 25 years old even though I was ready to pay for the possible oil leak. Will absolutely go to again and if the truck is infact leaking oil, I trusts Don's to fix it. Price was very fair as well. Truck was fixed same day with a new radiator, thermostat, gasket, hoses, and a battery as well.

Helpful beyond words. This is the BEST mechanic. My husband was stuck in Albuquerque when he started having car problems. I called 5+ mechanics and no one could get him in same day. The staff at Don’s Auto & Service Center got him in same day, and fixed the problem. It was such an easy fix. Being so far from home, it would have been easy for someone to take advantage of the situation. These guys were even helpful when we called months later from our home state. AMAZING.

I called Don's to schedule a pre-sale inspection of a used vehicle. They provided a free once-over, and did so in a timely, courteous manner, even though I changed the appointment twice. They gave me some information that was functionally important, including some feedback that the dealer didn't expect. Had I needed their services, I would have had them do repairs without hesitation; as it was, the dealer provided the repairs. Highly recommended!!

AMAZING PEOPLE WOW Ok so my radiator crapped out on me and I was super stressed about it. These guys got the job done quick and very well!!! They are competitively priced and have a great vibe in the shop (plus a super cute pupper named Ratchet). I would recommend Brown's to anyone. They are very detailed in explaining everything what needs to be done. They dont try to over sell you, and they keep to main issue that needs attention. Love how well Dustin and Cliff walk me through maintenance and repair needs so I can make informed decisions without feeling pressured. They also replaced 2 catalytic converters stolen off our Sequoia in a day when others said it could take 3-7 days. We didn’t have 3-7 days to wait.

Went to Don's to have my air conditioner charged. It was a quick service. But before I could leave, my elderly car suddenly broke a belt and needed the part it broke from replaced. Cliff got the parts and the car going within the hour. Highly recommend Don's.
