I called Burdin's Comic to find a comic I'd been having difficulty tracking down--I'd already called three stores. When I called, the man on the phone said they had it, and I was surprised, because he didn't go look, he just knew they had it in. I asked if he could check just to be sure because a lot of the other stores had the Annual for the comic, but not the first issue that I was looking for. He agreed to look, and came back and said they had a purple one; not the artist or writer, just a purple comic book. Just to be sure I described the cover of the issue to make sure that it was actually what I was looking for. His response was that he thought the comic might have looked like that (I was describing the Annual, not the issue I was looking for), and did I still want it. I was so frustrated by his blase attitude and lack of effort to help me, that I hung up. I'll never go back. Complete lack of customer service. Do yourself a favour and go to Conspiracy Comics instead. [EDIT: Thinking better of the situation, I went to Burdin's Comics later that day in person. Recognising me from earlier when I requested the same comic, the man who I spoke to on the phone helped me get the comic that I was looking for. We exchanged words about our previous conversation and he didn't charge me for the issue. While the experience was somewhat taxing, I appreciate his effort to help me and to do what he could to satisfy his customer.]

Great selection of products, very knowledgeable of comics and fandom. Am definitely coming back Would recommend, 10/10 Goldblums Edit: Lowering the rating due to a very bad experience. I had, in person the previous month, asked for a copy of The Last Ronin issue 1 to be set aside. When I called to enquire about it on release day, he had no idea who I was or any record of my information. Furthermore, I was also told that all issues were spoken for due to demand but that he sold multiple copies to other patrons, my copy included. This was accompanied by a noticeable nonchalant attitude. While Gary has never been rude or combative to me , I will not be returning as a Patron as I feel there is no customer loyalty on his part.

I've been going to Burdin's for years now, in fact, over a decade now. I've come here for all my comic book and graphic novel needs ever since I called and asked if they carried my favourite book and if there was a minimum on pulls. Since then I've expanded my purchases from one publication to several, even when I moved away from Hamilton. Burdin's will be my Comic and Graphic Novel provider even when I am out west. This store, the owner and manager have made me a life long customer because I have had the best customer service here. Better than Silver Snail, better than anything else anywhere else in my travels. I would recommend Burdin's to anyone who is interested in comics, graphic art and story telling.

When I lived in Hamilton, Burdin's was my local comic shop. This was in the 90s and Gary's shop was at the end of my street. I moved away and stopped collecting. I started up again and began visiting a new local shop which was fine, but it wasn't Burdin's. It wasn't Gary. I have started transferring my subscriptions back to Burdin's despite the fact that I live 45 min away. I don't get to pick up the books as often as I'd like, but I get what I'm looking for and the best customer service. What's more, I get to visit with an old friend when I pick them up. If you live in Hamilton, this is the place to go! Edit: Careful with those photos, don't make me rethink my review! ;)

Where do I start...what an amazing comics store honestly. Most of the comics are neatly organized and I never have to look hard for anything unless it’s something specific then I just ask. I love to browse here in my free time and I almost always find something new and I always find what I’m looking for. Burdin’s has been the best place for me to find the comic books that I’m looking for and if he doesn’t have something in stock, he’s always willing to order it for me. I love coming here, love the atmosphere and awesome comic book world conversations we have. I look forward to growing my collection. Highly recommend!

Whenever I head west to the Niagara region, I make darn sure to stop by Burdin's because, well, this store is definitely a must !! I have been periodically going to Burdin's for over near two decades from acquiring toys, posters and graphic novels. Gary the owner is the most down to earth comic collector purveyor you will have the honor of meeting!! He is friendly, knowledgeable and customer first kind of guy. Aside from his weekly exclusive deals, you can also win cool nifty collectible prizes in his raffle draws. Highly recommended and a treasure in Hamilton !!!

Gary took the time to teach me the ropes on Magic the Gathering. He was patient and very inclusive. Spent weeks teaching me rules and how to actually understand the game. The community of players at his store is phenomenal. He keeps everyone in line and people are patient and always willing to help you learn. His pre-release events are always a good time. I miss the guy like crazy and wish I had more time to get in there. Would definitely recommend this store to any hobbyist and to anyone interested in MtG or comics. Can't praise him enough.

Most comic book stores, Burdins has a geekdom culture. You will find discussions about Gotham and Arrow. People will be comparing Batman movies. Someone may bring in Transformers and players will be bringing in cards so that someone can have a better MTG standard deck. You may find yourself chatting for an hour but Gary always asks customers if they need help or if they're ready for him to cash them out. Often people come in and say they've passed the place many times and never thought to check it out but man, there's a lot of cool stuff.

Great guy nice spot friendly people, if you looking for a older indie graphic novel or single issue chances are he might have it nice selection of older manga figures you dont see at every other shop and alot of selection great small shop highly recommended checking It out! Support local businesses not just the big businesses coming to a great shop like this benefits everyone way more compared to a big company were in some crazy times right now support the people who share your passion!

The staff at this shop have always went the extra mile for my business. When they didn’t have collectables I wanted they ordered it. When I wanted to collect a book for the covers they did the utmost to comply even when it flew in the face of the supplier’s policy. To say Burdin’s is the best comic shop in the area may sound like hyperbole, Please don’t take my word for it. Find out for yourself what it’s like to shop in a place that values you and your business.

I have been going to Gary now for 25+ years. I can always depend on him to have or be able to get what I need. I don't think there is a more knowledgeable or fun perveyor of the coloured publications than him. He is also a great and passionate guy. Go in and talk to him about comics, movies, CCG's, speakers, or even "thieves oil", (go ahead, ask him). Point is, like me, he loves loving things, and if you love things also, you will love this store .

Great place to be. As I am on the search for some older comics I was happy to find part of what I was looking for here. The only issue being that the store is cluttered and it's hard for anyone to find anything. That being said, you wouldn't imagine the prestine shape the books are in. It might look disorganized but they take care of their product. It is completely worth the visit if you are ever in the Hamilton area.

Burdins is welcoming and friendly with a selection of everything from comics to collectable card games, some of the coolest figures and amazing merchandise. I don't like to criticize a great shop like this but the yappy pet dog tried to hump my leg a few times, scratched me, and the owner was not apologetic at all. I like dogs, but they need to be trained, I also like people with dogs, but they need to leave the untrained pets at home, or train them to get along with customers. Update, see below.

The epitome of a local comic shop, unpretentious, great selection at competitive prices. I came in looking for an obscure comic for a friend and owner spend time with me finding the product that I was after. Highly recommended, have gone back several times now. Would rather support this small local business than buy at a bigbox or online.

Gary, the owner, is an awesome guy. He fixed my 30+ year old Axiom bookshelf speakers and did a fantastic job. He was kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Sick store, too. I would never have thought to take my speakers to a comic book shop to get fixed, but he came highly recommended, and I’m enchanted by the experience. Couldn’t be happier.

After not being taken seriously at other local stores for a product I wanted ordered I went to Burdin's. Not only did he find what I wanted but it was less expensive than the market was asking at the time. That was a long time ago. Still stop in every week for good conversation and to pick up the weeks releases.

Gary is a great guy who bends over backwards to help out his customers. He has an amazing selection of trades (all reasonably priced I might add) with pretty much any title or character you can imagine...if he doesn't have it he will do his best to get it for you. If I lived closer I would be a regular.

Coming here for over 20 years. Been extremely happy with the service and selection. I've been to all the stores in Hamilton and Burdin's is the only place for me. I love their new store on Barton by Sherman. Gary has been able to order and get anything I've asked for from the Previews catalogs.

My family has been going here for about 20 years now maybe longer. Always has what we need, and if he doesn't he orders it right away for us. A really kind guy , store has great organization , a comfortable atmosphere and is always a blast to pop in and see what's new.

Best comic shop in Hamilton hands DOWN. Owner keeps all issues in almost perfect condition, its unreal! Never seen back issues look this well kept. Great place, hard to leave lol Cannot recommend this place enough if you are serious about your comic books.

I've known Gary for 11 years now and he always has what I need and if he doesn't have it in stock he orders it for me. If you want someone that has a great knowledge of comics, trading card games and is just friendly in general this is the place to go.

Great store if you like digging and I do. If you know what you want they can find it quickly. Current comics and trades are displayed nicely. Owner is friendly and knows his comics. Cute little dog as his assistant.

Staff is rude! All I did was ask if they had a comic in stock and I got some dirty look for instead. And that place is covered in "do not" signs, if you don't like people touching comic books then don't sell them!

Been collecting comic books for pretty much 30 years now. Once I set foot in this store I never went to another. Easily the best prices. Anything I want Gary the owner will order in. Keeps his word Everytime.

Great place loaded with stuff. It is a bit messy as people have mentioned but the owner can always point you to what you need. Good price and an excellent and varied selection make it a destination.
