The Burlington Central Library is truly a gem in the heart of the city. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was welcomed by the warm and friendly staff who were always ready to assist. The library is well-organized, making it easy to find the books or resources I needed. The library's collection is impressive, with a wide range of books, DVDs, and other resources catering to all ages and interests. Whether you're a student looking for academic resources, a professional seeking industry-specific literature, or a casual reader in search of a good novel, the Burlington Central Library has got you covered. One of the standout features of this library is its quiet and comfortable reading areas. They provide a peaceful environment that's perfect for immersing oneself in a good book or focusing on work. The library also offers free Wi-Fi, which is a great advantage for those who need to stay connected. The children's section is vibrant and engaging, filled with colorful books and interactive learning materials. It's clear that the library puts a lot of effort into fostering a love of reading in the younger generation. In addition to its physical resources, the Burlington Central Library also offers a variety of programs and workshops. These events cater to a wide range of interests and provide a great opportunity for community engagement. In conclusion, the Burlington Central Library is more than just a place to borrow books. It's a community hub, a center for learning, and a peaceful retreat in the middle of a bustling city. I highly recommend it to anyone in the Burlington area.

Great facility, clean, warm, and quiet. There are very resourceful people working there that are very kind and helpful. But there is one thing that KILLS ME about the library. THE HOURS. All public libraries close early now. 9pm? On weeknights? And 1-5 pm on Sunday? Seriously? If the government is trying to make budget cuts, this is not the place to do it. We should be educating youth and cutting budgets elsewhere. Even if they were to keep a small section open with minimal supervision, so people can stay later and complete more work, that is all I am asking. I understand that keeping the children's toy section open until 11pm is not necessary, but just a room with tables and chairs. Trying to get accepted into a program with a scholarship is definitely challenging, but limiting hardworking students like myself with these kind of hours... now that's not fair.

I went there today with my 3 year old son. Great place for toddlers to have fun, socialize, and read. They have a area for toddlers. Super big and perfect for them. The library has toys for them to play with, a kitchen set and kids computers. We got my sons 1st library card today as well and the workers there were so nice ane caring. Felt very welcomed there. Going to be coming here a lot more. My son and I loved it. Great place to just chill. For parents watching little ones I recommend to bring ur journal or laptop to keep u busy or grab a chaper book before going to the kids area so your toddler wont think you guys are leaving so soon lol. Also have duo play dates would be fun too. Bring a play partner so ur kids can play while mommy and daddies talk and socialize as well. So we all are happy and having fun. Great place. Love it and so does my little one.

Maybe I have just been spoiled by university libraries, but I would not call this place a library, it is more like a community centre/daycare then a library. Their is rarely a quiet place to study since this place has a large amount of children who are yelling and screaming on the daily. Maybe they offer a daycare service where people can drop off their kids, but it seems foolish to put a quiet study space in the library that is directly below the area where young children run around stomping and screaming so loud that you can hear them through the walls. Not only that but the wifi is spotty at best, it struggles to even load webpages some days. If you are looking for a quiet place to study with no distractions (one of the main purposes of a library) then this place is not for you.

after moving to south burlington from north burlington, i have started to come to the central branch with my two young daughters (4 and 16 months) on weekends to get books and let them play a bit. It is a great place that is warm, inviting and well maintained. Great play area that is suited for young children and people are all respectful of each other which i like. The outside grounds of the library are beautiful as well and there is a park to boot. So if you have young ones, you could literally spend a whole afternoon here and no one would be bored and mom or dad can get a bit of a break. There's also a small coffee shop downstairs as well which is super handy if you want a drink or a light snack. This is really one of the great family spots in the city.

Love this branch! Always lots of available seating to work alone or with friends, the makerspace is awesome and staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. There’s so many hidden gems here. A seed library to grow lettuces and herbs at home, makerspace with a button maker, 3D printer, embroidery machine, laser cutter, large format printer and more at reasonable prices. Kits to start a book club, bird watch, fidget toys, all sorts of fun stuff! There’s also parks and recreation centers nearby. In the summer the reading garden is amazing :) highly recommend checking out this library branch!

I was in this past weekend and wanted to check out 3 movies. The blonde hag at the desk said I have 27 dollars in overdue fees. I immediately said I don't and she said " yes you do" then mumbled under her breath " I'm not dealing with this" and called the manager. She discovered that I have things on my card that I never took out! Someone has my card and is using it. She waved 3 of the 4 things I could see that someone took out on my card but left 1 thing that wasn't mine. I wish she waved all the things I didn't take out but at least she did a better job than the middle aged witch.

It's a very calm and peaceful environment. When I come here, it's like a treatment session. Read a book, rest, do research, work on the computer, look at old records, study the history of Burlington, look at the birlington settlement plans from 120 years ago. What do you want to do. Before the pandemic, there were knitting hours for women. I don't know if I started again. This place is just like a charity house for the public. Volunteers to answer questions at tax time, council and conferences are everything. Come here and start doing the events your age demands.

The library has three floors with sufficient couches, tables, chairs and workstations with ample parking on the north, south and east sides, and a park on the west side with a few benches to sit and toilets on the ground and first floors. There is also a study room available on a first come first serve basis...For a break, you can take a quick walk around the library...It is also open from 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays & Sundays and from 9 AM to 9 M from Monday to Friday, and it works for my schedule on weekdays and weekends A great place to study!

My son requested this place for a book and they said once the book is available they will email or call me but it’s been two years now no email or call from them . I have called them first year for almost every week for the update and they said my son is on waiting list and he is in number one spot. If my son is in first position for the waiting list how come it takes another year and still no update. I don’t know what happened with them . They treat well if they found someone rich or looks high profile . I wish they treat everyone equally.

Install a door. Though I think it makes perfect sense to place a kids play section right next to the silent study section without any sort of door or preventative noise measure for people studying, I can also see how one would assume that screams from the kids playing may echo right into the quiet study area and irritate the 15-20 people who are trying to study. Maybe consider some sort of doorway to this area so the quiet study area is...sort of quiet? Terrible planning otherwise.

Excellent selection of books, computers for adults. Computers and tablets for kids. Large play area for little ones. Meeting rooms for community activities. A "maker" space for the creative folk. Always well kept with the perfect temperature and energy for studying & reading. Great feature is the in house cafe to grab a coffee and quick snack without leaving the building! Tip: Keep an eye on the bulletin boards for interesting community workshops held here!

Great location, very well maintained. Staff are very helpful and many great programs. Spent many hours here doing research, a place work between other locations, just to relax and browse the stacks, or just get a coffee and hang out for a bit. Hours could definitely be extended, but that's going to come back to funding and usage. Use their Online resources routinely.

  • Dinorah Perez

This library is fantastic. It's spacious, clean, quiet and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I personally use this place as a study space and I must say, it's perfect for students. There are study tables with outlets to plug in your electronics (ex. laptop)

Boy it's been years since I've been here. I moved away from Burlington at 19, and I used to come here all the time when I was in my teens - did a lot of bike riding from where I lived in North Burlington to here on weekends and in the summer when I could

  • Alina Donic

Was expecting to come and read quietly. People bring their kids ; staff & people talking loudly. This is not how library should be. Look for another place if you plan to stay for reading as it's impossible to concentrate.

  • Katherine K

Decently sized library with quite a bit of space to study and do work. Never gets really busy, at least not if you’re comparing it to a university campus library. Some of the study spots are super cozy which is nice.

  • Olivia Paco

People bring their kids to walk around the 'quiet study areas' and are loud and the staff do not correct them. the AC/ventilation is terribly loud near the study tables, not ideal if your trying to get real work done

  • Raz ZS

This library is great for children. My 1 year old enjoys his time here. We read books, colour, play with the mini trains, and play with the slide. There is also an outdoor playground. The environment is very safe.

  • Neil Sangani

This place is amazing with awesome customer service. Kelly and Ruth were speaking eloquently and were really nice to me as a first timer to this library! Definitely recommend this place to first comers.

  • Nana Asante

Should do something about patrons receiving and making calls around the reading areas to disturb other patrons. This is pretty unacceptable for a library. Respect for all patrons must be exhibited.

  • Catherine Murphy

Always space, Time and all the support and resources you could ever need or want. Thank you very much pleased always!!!!! Great environment well maintained inside and out plus fanatic staff :)

  • Katharine Fitzgerald

This library is by far the best one in the area. Lots of open space to browse or work. The staff here are super friendly and helpful. Online hold and pickup system works well too!

  • Luke McEachern

It's a Public Library. Totally "Woke" Burlington, they provide Tampons and Pads in the "Men's bathroom." Apparently ~3% of the Male population at large have "Bonus Holes"?
